This week on….

Look we’ve had a lot of fun here but can I be real for a minute. What can I write that is more dramatic or funnier (depending on your view) than this week in NZ politics. Nothing that’s what. I pride myself on these blurbs (by the way I don’t know how many of you read these) but I have to admit I can’t hold a candle to the truth.

Just look for the most recent article on newshub.co.nz or RadioLIVE.co.nz about the National Party, Simon Bridges or Jami-Lee Ross and assume I wrote it here.

We also learn some te reo tips from Eru.

In episode six of season two The Control Room has it’s first special episode. Our friends across the newsroom at Newshub have been working with our team at RadioLIVE to producer a new podcast Grove Road. As of writing it is first on the NZ iTunes charts, above an little known podcast known as Serial. We spend the whole episode speaking with the team that put Grove Road together.

Grove Road is the story of the murder of Arthur Easton and the arrest of Alan Hall, a man with no alibi or answers. But it's also a story about our system of justice - the power and trust we give to police and prosecutor and their ability to find the truth.

This episode included the voices of Anand Hira & Asher Bastion.
Produced by Cari Johnson, Brin Rudkin & Claudia Sykes.
Special thanks to Mike Wesley-Smith, Maggie Wicks & our own Asher Bastion from Grove Road.

Who lives?
Who dies?
Who shows up?

We have reached the end of season one of The Control Room and what better way to end than with a clip show. But not of clips you've heard, the bits we cut for reasons that will be apparent when you listen.

Man we really didn't think this through....

Anyway we are taking a two week break while we plan out season two. There'll be a few format changes but it'll still be the same banter and talk radio vibe. The five of us will still be the core team, but just not all of us at once. Plus guests, who doesn't love guests?

Get pumped for season two, if you have any requests email thecontrolroom@radiolive.co.nz
