The Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Boom
The global airline industry is set to surpass $1 trillion in revenue this year, says IATA. With Airbus predicting over 42,000 new aircraft deliveries in the next 20 years, demand for ground support equipment is rapidly rising.
GSE manufacturers saw a strong rebound in 2024, with growth driving innovation. Companies are focusing on efficiency, safety, and sustainability—especially through electrification and new tech like AI, telemetry, and automation.

Busy schedules, and lots of travel experiences of being a passenger and a customer.

• Differences from larger HUB airports to regional
• BLAME BINGO
• Why are we not taking an overview of the entire issues
o Perhaps the chance for Airports to take the lead and insist on service level standards
• Collaboration and data sharing - lots of talk. However, most parties are reluctant to share and support the bigger picture
• Safety Culture is a term that is not being truly reflected in practice
o Fatigue
o Stress - pressures
o Experience support mechanism is heavily diluted now
o Line Trainers having to take frontline overview
• Urgency is now and is understood. Should we not also be looking ahead by 3-6-9 months and start to dig a foundation and do things differently
o No more rear-view mirror analysis - let's leave that to those that come and will be analysing what we did or what we should have done. Our focus now is on protecting our tomorrows.
• Airports now have the opportunity to address some of the parts and lead by example.
• A cultural change is indeed necessary, so perhaps we start with an 'effective culture' and encouraging the old team ethos and welcoming people to speak up.

What an amazing 4 days of celebration, acknowledgement, recognition and collaboration – the concert, surprizes, entertainment, technical proficiency and all-around success. The concert was an example of incredible organization, timing and collaboration – Britain at its Best!
However, flights cancelled, queues, delays and a lack of effective planning and forecast capability in the aviation industry was a clear contrast. Our industry needs to focus on the summer to avoid unnecessary bad press. Solutions need to be effective and not superficial – Leadership of a new model is urgently required.

New Russian sanctions on one of the three manufacturers for PMC in the world, added to terrible efficiency in the industry = the problem is beginning to snowball. Bob and Urs advocate for an industry level approach to start treating ULD assets as an essential component.

With design authority now in place, the company can now continue the development and installation of its first product Cordillera under its own Supplementary Type Certification (STC).
