Didn’t get tickets to the Grateful Dead’s Fare Thee Well Tour?  This is the next best thing.  Wavy Gravy may be best known to millions as a cosmic cut-up and the inspiration for a Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavor, but it’s because of his good work on behalf of the planet and its least fortunate residents that Wavy Gravy has achieved his own brand of sainthood. His friend and satirist, Paul Krassner, has called him "the illegitimate son of Harpo Marx and Mother Teresa."

Wavy Gravy, who's reached official geezerhood, is more active and more effective in the world then he was decades ago. Back then, when still known as Hugh Romney, he stood on the stage of the original Woodstock concert and announced...."What we have in mind is breakfast in bed for 400,000!" He was at Woodstock as a member of an entertainment/activist commune known as the Hog Farm. Today, the Hog Farm still exists, collectively owning and operating the 700-acre Black Oak Ranch and hosting the annual Pig-Nic.

Don’t miss this pop culture history lesson from the Grateful Dead’s original clown Wavy Gravy.

Yogi Roth has been described as a modern day Indiana Jones.  He is a media personality, college football analyst, best-selling author, motivational speaker, actor and an Emmy nominated filmmaker.  At heart, though, he’s a guy from a small town in Pennsylvania who loves to share a good story.

Win Forever, the New York Times best-seller that he co-authored with Pete Carroll, is one of those good stories.  His most recent story, though, is Life in a Walk, a documentary about a walk Yogi took with his dad.  It’s not just any walk but one through Portugal and Spain along the Camino De Santiago.  Yogi says that the film is about making a decision to act on his strong feeling to spend more time with his father.

Today he’ll discuss the making of that film and his ongoing exploration of human potential.  He is the co-founder of Win Forever, a brand inspired by Pete Carroll, that furthers human potential, elevates mentorship and inspires leaders through a philosophy of competition.  When he’s not doing all of the above, Yogi travels the nation delivering motivational presentations about living a Life Without Limits.

Gina and Shakti's approach shifts the focus away from relationships themselves and looks instead at the lessons they can teach us about ourselves.

Bryan Kest has been practicing yoga since 1979 and has been teaching since 1985. He developed his unique, distinctive style of yoga, Original Power Yoga, in 1979. Over the years, this style, an amazing workout for the body, mind and spirit, has made him a well-known, popular teacher across the country and around the world.

His mainstream popularity is matched by an authentic foundation in the ancient practice of yoga and a long path of development as a yogi (a practitioner of yoga). At age 15, Bryan uprooted from his native Detroit home to make a life change in Hawaii. He moved to live with his father, a doctor, who understood the benefits of yoga. Like many of us, Bryan originally thought yoga was nothing more than strange contortions, but that changed when his father introduced him to a physical style of yoga called Ashtanga. This appealed to him immediately, and he soon observed great changes in himself, both physically and mentally. Yoga quickly became his passion, one that would take him to India for a year to study with the great yoga masters of the world, PattabhiJois. He has been continuing on his yoga path ever since.

“Some heavy lifting will be involved: the psychological heavy lifting of adopting a new attitude and a new vision of life and the practical heavy lifting of manifesting that attitude and that vision in the real world,” writes Eric Maisel of his newest book Life Purpose Boot Camp. “That amounts to a lot, but the reward is the highest prize available to you: an authentic life.”

Eric Maisel stresses that no life purpose can exist until we step back and consciously identify, embrace, and implement the ones that we choose.  Further, there is no one meaning of life but rather a multitude of subjective meanings, and that there is no purpose to life but rather a multitude of subjective life purposes.  Life Purpose Boot Camp provides the framework and tools readers need to sort out their life purposes and to make meaning based on their personal values and principles.

Eric Maisel, PhD, is a licensed psychotherapist and the author of more than 40 books including Mastering Creative Anxiety, Brainstorm,Coaching the Artist Within, and Rethinking Depression. He writes on a wide variety of subjects from the challenges of living the creative life to natural psychology and the new psychology of meaning.  To learn more, visit:  http://ericmaisel.com/

Did you know that 40% of your happiness is your choice? That’s right. 50% of your individual level of happiness is determined by your DNA, your “happiness set point”. 10% of your happiness is determined by external factors such as food, water, shelter, basic financial stability. That leaves 40% of your potential individual level of happiness entirely up to YOU, and science tells us that that 40% is your choice.

Scott Simon and Jen Margolis, the founders of Thrive, join guest host and Thrive volunteer, Deanna Black, for a full hour to help us realize that 40% happiness potential. Thrive is a volunteer group of professionals committed to a single focus: spreading happiness and sharing well-being with people one Thrive experience at a time.  And since we know that happiness is contagious (it’s a science-based fact), when you get happier, so do those around you. Listen and find out how you can impact a community. One happy, thriving person at a time.

A bus, a bike, and a Boston terrier. These are the only major constants in Bob Votruba’s life as he continues a ten-year journey across the country to encourage everyone to reach one goal: To do one million acts of kindness in your lifetime.

We discovered Bob at the Hessler Street Fair in Cleveland this past spring.  His bus advertises his mission in giant letters painted on one side, "One Million Acts of Kindness." It's a goal, he says, that a person under 30 can realistically meet if he or she makes it a point to be kind to someone every day.

Painted on the back window is the reason why the mission exists: “Because of Virginia Tech 4-16-07 End All Forms Of Hatred!!” In the aftermath of the horrific shootings at Virginia Tech  in 2007, Bob bought a bus, had about sixty family members, friends and neighbors help paint it and began a ten-year journey with his Boston Terrier, Bogart, to college campuses across the country hoping to convince our nation’s youth about this much needed movement for this world.

For the next 60 minutes, journey with Bob Votruba and pave the road to kindness.

Mike is a guide and resident healer at Strala. Named “Best Mover” by MindBodyGreen and one of Shape Magazine’s Hottest Trainers, he’s practiced Eastern movement and healing techniques, including tai chi, qigong, and shiatsu, for more than three decades.

In his younger years, Mike challenged centuries of reasonable and well-tested martial traditions in hundreds of competitions, by applying unruly imagination to a world where rules were unbreakable. As he got older, he happily become more interested in supporting bodies than disrupting them, and continued on to medical applications of the mind-body connection in university. Mike studied mind-body medicine at Harvard, and alternative medicine and psychology at Oxford. After running into walls with standard medical practice in the U.S. and England, Mike left his healthcare roots. He worked at a steel mill for a while, joined a web company, and then founded a few more.

Now Mike has found his way back to health care done right, helping people let go of stress in their bodies and minds, become their own best caregivers, and live happy capable lives. Mike is a long-time runner, cyclist, rower, skier and snowboarder, and climbs a few mountains in his spare time.

Live your yoga off the mat with Mary Lynn Fitton.  Mary Lynn is the founder and creator of The Art of Yoga Project (AYP), a revolutionary program that focuses on early intervention to help at-risk and sexually exploited girls prepare for a positive future.
