Cal State Northridge -2.5 over Long Beach StateThe Cal State Northridge Matadors are very good when they can get over 70 points per game. Long Beach is the perfect opponent because they operate at a quick pace. This should be a great offensive game and I am almost tempted to take the over here, but we will stick with the Matadors in this one. Both teams have bad defenses and are bad at defending the three point line. Long Beach turns the ball over a lot and they don’t share the ball well. CS Northridge does share the ball well and they protect the ball as well. This is a bigger and stronger team that should cash in over a team that doesn’t know how to win. I can’t see the 5 win 49ers advancing as it will be Cal State Northridge that takes advantage of their extra possessions tonight. Take Cal State Northridge.

Browns +4.5 over Titans
Browns backers have been frustrated this year because on 3 occasions they have blown the cover in the craziest of ways, but you can’t hold grudges when it comes to sports gambling. Both teams have excellent running games. The Titans Derrick Henry is the man. The Browns Nick Chubb is the man. The Titans are a little banged up on the offensive line and the Browns get Myles Garrett back today. Garrett makes all the difference in the world and is the key to pressuring the QB and forcing turnovers. I don’t want to say Tennessee is overrated, but their defense is average and can be taken advantage of. Cleveland should have a balanced attack running the ball with the Chubb/Hunt combo and then Baker Mayfield should be able to find his downfield targets. I like the value with the underdog in this spot. Take Cleveland.

Browns -7 over Jaguars
The Browns are itching to play in a game that the weather doesn’t limit their offense. The weather will be nice and Cleveland could not have drawn a more perfect opponent on defense. The Jags are brutal and to make matters worse they will be starting Mike Glennon today at QB. Glennon has not thrown a ball in a game since 2017. Cleveland should put up a ton of points today on offense and on defense create turnovers. The Browns Defensive Line is missing a few key pass rushers today, but Glennon and his timing will be so off that this unit should force him into silly mistakes. Cleveland should have a balanced rushing attack of their own, but you know they are going to try to pass it more today just to get Baker Mayfield some positive stats. Take Cleveland.

Texans +2 over Patriots
Texans/Patriots Over 48.5
The Texans have the worst defense in the NFL. There is no doubt Bill Belichick will find ways to put points on the board. This New England team is flawed. I know the general public thinks they are back after beating Baltimore last Sunday Night, but the conditions in that game were brutal. This game today is indoors and I believe the Texans Offense is going to have a field day. New England just doesn’t have a healthy front seven on defense. The Texans have so many talented skill players that should be able to get open. New England has a great secondary, but it’s only as good as the protection they get up front. The entire Patriots defensive line is out or on the injury report today and the linebackers are banged up as well. Deshaun Watson is going to be a nightmare to slow down today with his duel threat ability. Take the Texans and the Over.

NC State -5.5 over Liberty
Hugh Freeze is the man. What a coach! The Flames are 8-0 this year, but their schedule has been easy. This team did beat Syracuse which has their own injury issues, but the win at VTech proves this is a really good team. I just don't think they can continue to keep it up against better athletes. This is a really light offensive line that I believe the Wolfpack front seven can handle. NC State has so many great offensive weapons and their offensive line should hold up against this defense and any pressure it brings. This is a game in which NC State is the bigger and more physical team and they should have no problem putting up 40 plus points. Liberty will be undefeated no more. Take NC State.

Bucs -5.5 over Panthers
Bucs/Panthers Over 51
Tampa got beat up bad last week and are looking for a punching bag. The Panthers have a first year staff that has been excellent, but I just don’t see them stopping all of the Bucs weapons. This defense does not have the same talent as the Saints. This is a big divisional game and I believe Tampa will get back on track with all of their receivers finally being healthy again. Carolina will be without Christian McCaffrey which always hurts their chances, as he means more to his team than just about anybody in the NFL. This a good Panthers offense that will put up points. The wind is bad all over the NFL this afternoon, but this game will be not too bad. I think this will turn into a pretty entertaining shootout, but it will be the Bucs that pull away late. Take Tampa and the Over.

Western Kentucky -8 over Southern Miss
Southern Miss is a mess. This team is on their 3rd coach of the year and now on their third quarterback. Jack Abraham opted out of the season, Tate Whaley won’t play with a concussion and they now will depend on Trey Lowe in his first start. This is a team that just won’t click on offense. Western Kentucky has struggled themselves on offense, but today will get a weak defense that can’t stop the run. Tyrell Pigrome will run all over this team and his style of play won’t throw interceptions so Southern Miss just won’t have multiple chances to put up easy points. This spread seems high for a WKU offense that struggles, but Southern Miss is so dysfunctional right now that I can’t see any scenario that has them in this game in the 4th quarter. Take WKU.

Lions/Vikings Over 51
The Lions will be without their top receiver Kenny Golladay today, but they will be facing a Vikings Secondary that is missing their top corners and the backups are banged up and very young. The Packers couldn’t expose them last week because of the wind in Green Bay. In perfect conditions Matt Stafford will light them up as this team can run a balanced offense. This young Vikings Secondary will be exposed. Last week in Green Bay was a gift from the weather gods. Detroit is not a great defense so the Vikings will get their points as well. Dalvin Cook was incredible last week so that confidence should carry over to this afternoon. Both teams will be able to run and throw the ball making them balanced and efficient. Take the Lions and the Over.

Tennessee -1 over Arkansas
The Vols had a week off to try to get focused. This was a team that won a lot of games to end last year and then the wheels fell off after a 2-0 start this year. The good news is they are playing a team that didn’t win a conference game in 2018 or 2019. The two wins the Razorbacks have this year are against two bad football teams. This Arkansas team is still in a transition year under their first year staff. Feleipe Franks is a big upgrade for them and they do have talent, but the Vols are a better team on both sides of the ball and have the talent and experience edge across the board. Jarrett Guarantano just needs to hand the ball off and not try to do too much. This Arkansas Defense isn’t the likes of Georgia, Kentucky or Alabama. Tennessee will look frustrating and will do silly things, but has the talent to beat a less talented football team and will be focused and hungry after a three game skid. Take the Vols

Vikings +6 over Packers
Vikings/Packers Over 49.5
In the first meeting this year the Packers picked this Vikings team apart. Minnesota couldn’t get their offense going until it was too late, but today the weather favors the Vikings. Minnesota is fresh off the bye week and are healthy. The winds are going to be high in this game which plays to Minnesota’s strengths. Dalvin Cook and Alexander Mattison should have big days running the ball. Aaron Jones is out for Green Bay so the running game does take a hit. Aaron Rodgers isn’t as mobile as he once was so I do think Minnesota can win this game. The problem for the Vikings is Aaron Rodgers is always the best player on the field and Minnesota is missing their top three cornerbacks in this game with the other one being just a rookie. The wind might be blowing around, but it will be hard for these guys to stop the Green Bay receivers and hard to come up and make cold weather tackles as well. This should be a great game. I think the Vikings have a great shot at winning if they stick to the game plan. Take the Vikings and the Over.

Bills - 4 over Patriots
The Bills are built for this type of weather. Josh Allen has a cannon of an arm, he can run and he has the big hands to hold onto the ball when the winter conditions start rolling in. Cam Newton is a diva. This Patriots offense has been brutal all year and without a couple key receivers I just don’t see them all of a sudden moving the ball today. This is simply not the Patriots year. The New England Defense is seriously undermanned and the Bills should win both sides of the ball. Take Buffalo.

Titans -6.5 over Bengals
Cincinnati is going up against a great defense today and will be without their top running back Joe Mixon. That’s only half of the bad news. The Bengals Offensive Line will be without their center, their left tackle and right tackle. Good luck. Joe Burrow is just a rookie and we have yet to see him play in conditions with high winds and colder weather. The Titans are built for this type of game and we should see Derrick Henry have a get right game this afternoon and the Titans should move the ball at will against this defense. Take Tennessee.

Cincinnati -7 over Memphis
Cincinnati showed how great their defense was in their road win last week against SMU. This team plays like an NFL team and I just don’t think Memphis has the identity they once had in the past. This is a young head coach that was left some talent, but a few of the guys opted out this year and I don’t think the skilled players are good enough to beat this Bearcat Defense. Brady White is not the most mobile guy so I expect the front seven to do a good job at frustrating and sacking him. This game is all about defense. The Bearcats successful defense puts their offense in position to score. Take Cincinnati.

Houston +3 over UCF
UCF is a track meet offense, but with that comes costly penalties and on the road that is always a cardinal sin. This Houston Defense has the talent in all three levels to compete with the Knights and on the offensive side Clayton Tune is looking like he may have a future at the next level. This is a tough team at home and they have plenty of skilled players of their own to match the talent UCF has. The Cougars have the edge on special teams as well. Take Houston.

Boise State/Air Force Over 49
Covid hit some teams harder than others. Because Air Force is a military school the players all went on to deployments or studies and simply can’t opt back in. The entire defense is literally gone. This team has not been exposed yet, but it’s coming today with a great QB in Hank Bachmeier. Boise has a ton offensive weapons and are balanced at both throwing and running. They should put up 50 tonight as this Falcons Defense does not have the bodies to match up. Take Boise and the Over.

Nevada/UNLV Over 60
Last year UNLV stunned Nevada on the road. The Wolfpack have payback in mind as they head to Las Vegas. This is a new coaching staff for UNLV and a few of their players had covid and are questionable once again this week. Nevada is an offensive minded team and in their Air Raid Offense should put up a ton of points against a very young defense. The Rebels only bring back one every game starter from last year and just have so many new faces on that side of the ball that I don’t think they will keep up. The UNLV offense will be good for a few scores as they have talent and proved they could score against this team last year, but the new system and their weak defense will eventually be too much to keep pace with the Wolfpack on and this game will get out of hand. Take Nevada and the Over.

Saints -6.5 over Panthers
This Saints team isn’t going to light up the scoreboard without Michael Thomas in the lineup, but today Drew Brees should be able to find all of his targets against a poor Panthers Defense and against a new defensive coaching staff. The Panthers are not a great team and their offensive line is dealing with a few injuries today. Teddy Bridgewater returns back to play his former team so they know his tendencies. The Panthers will be getting Christian McCaffery back next week, but without him I don’t like their chances in an important divisional game. The Saints should have a field day today running the ball against a bad run defense . The bottom line in this game is you have decades of coaching experience with the Saints going against a rookie staff. The Saints should win by double digits. Take New Orleans.

Boston College -3.5 over Georgia Tech
It’s hard for a team to get blown out like Georgia Tech did last week and then refocus on the road. Sometimes great teams like Clemson can beat you even the week after they beat you. Boston College has a very good defense that’s filled with veteran talent. The Yellow Jackets offense and their true freshman QB must be questioning their confidence after last weeks performance. Boston College isn’t going to run up the score like Clemson, but they will run the ball and try to control the clock and then rely on their defense to hold on. Georgia Tech is thin on the defensive line and lacks the talent to control the line of scrimmage. This is just the kind of game the Eagles like to play in. Take Boston College.

Bears +1 over Panthers
Never would I think this Panthers team would have 3 wins and be over .500 at this point in the season. This is a team that I thought was capable of losing every game with Christian McCaffrey out of the lineup. This new coaching staff has done a great job, but some of it has to do with the easy teams on their schedule. The Bears Defense will take full advantage of any mistakes you make. I think Vegas has totally overvalued this Panthers football team. Teddy Bridgewater has looked decent, but I think he will make mistakes against this pass rush. Nick Foles is going to get better in this Chicago Offense as the weeks pass. This is a perfect opportunity to take him off the leash and throw the ball down field. Chicago is better on both sides of the ball. Take the Bears.

Texas A&M -5 over Mississippi State
It’s amazing how Mississippi State and this new coaching staff went from the highest to highs to the lowest of lows. After a week 1 win at LSU everyone thought this team was legit. It turns out LSU just can’t stop a high school offense. KJ Costello went from setting passing records to being benched. This looks like a new team. Jimbo Fisher has taken care of business so far with the only loss being against Alabama. This team has a much better defense and it’s a huge advantage having all the position coaches in their second year opposed to their first like in the case with the Bulldogs. Kellen Mond should have a great day passing and the A&M run game behind Isaiah Spiller should pound this defense. Take Texas A&M.

Steelers -7 over Eagles
The public is all over Pittsburgh and this number has stayed at 7 points all week, but the public is right sometimes. The Eagles don't have any of their top receivers playing. This is an offensive line that is banged up that will be going against a Steelers front seven that is lethal. Carson Wentz has looked slow and unsure of himself most of the year and I just don't see this team taking to the road and staying competitive against an elite football team. The Steelers Secondary has so many talented players. I don't see the Eagles moving the ball much. On offense, the Steelers are loaded. This team can pick on this banged up Eagles Secondary and they can run the football in a balanced attack. This is a playoff team. The Eagles are not. Take the Steelers.

Miami +15 over Clemson
The one cool thing about College Football this year is the gap narrows with less fans and home field advantage. I just don’t think there are many spots that you should play big favorites. Miami has been red hot with D’Eriq King at QB. There is nothing worse than a duel threat QB that can pick up a first down with his arm or feet. Clemson is still a powerhouse, but this year none of them are elite. There was a lot of turnover last year in talent. Miami has all the offensive pieces and the offensive line able to match Clemson on the scoreboard. I think this spread is very generous. Take Miami.

Gardner Minshew is not a quality NFL player. The only thing that keeps him a household name are his fun and game college frat like antics and it’s going to get real old fast for the Jags fan base. This team was awful against the Dolphins last week and this week they have to go on the road with a first year offensive coordinator and a rookie running back and try to win on the road to the hungry Bengals and the #1 pick Joe Burrow. Cincinnati is getting close to that first win and with the way the Jags played defense last week you have to think it’s coming. This Bengals team is stacked on the offensive side of the ball and today I believe they get their breakout game. Take the Bengals.

Texas Tech +1.5 over Kansas StateOn paper I just can’t believe Kansas State beat Oklahoma. This is a team with no offensive line. On the two deep chart they have just one guy who started a college football game coming into this season and he only had two. The other 9 players never started a game. Oklahoma got lazy in that game and didn’t know how to put a team away. Texas Tech had the same problem with Texas, but this is more of a quick strike offense and I think they will overwhelm the Wildcats today. Texas Tech will win this game if they don’t allow any big plays on special teams. This is a team that has great receivers and QB Alan Bowman can get them the ball. Take Texas Tech.

The Saints are coming off a bad loss Monday Night in Vegas, but call it a good win for the Raiders. This team still have Drew Brees under center and even without Michael Thomas in the lineup has plenty of weapons. The Saints return 4 of 5 on the offensive line this year and at home are always good for points. Aaron Rodgers has looked great this year, but his offensive line is banged up with Lane Taylor or IR and with Jenkins and Turner nursing injuries. The Saints have a little bit more on offense and defense and I like them as the small home favorite. Take New Orleans.

Tennessee -3.5 over South Carolina
The Vols know the feeling of their season being shot on the first day of the year as last year Georgia State upset them. This is a team that struggled early on and could have thrown in the towel, but over the 2nd half of the season showed tremendous promise. The Vols bring back a lot of talent from last year and this coaching staff is another year wiser. South Carolina brings in a new offensive coordinator and with him a new QB from the Colorado State system. Collin Hill is not much of a mobile threat so it’s his arm that will have to carry this team that lost a lot of receivers. This is a rebuilding year for this offense. Jarrett Guarantano and the Vols are looking to pick up where they left off late last year. The Vols also return more starting talent on defense. Take Tennessee.

Colts -3 over Vikings
Both teams coming this game 0-1 to start the season. Minnesota doesn’t look right offensively with the departure of Stefon Diggs, but the real story is the once great defense this team had is a thing of the past. This team just doesn’t have much talent anymore nor do they have a lot of quality depth. It’s actually the Colts Defense that could be the next dynasty as they have experience and talent in all levels of their defense. Marlon Mack will be a tough loss for the Colts, but I believe Phillip Rivers will throw the ball more and duplicate the game plan Aaron Rodgers and the Packers had last week. The Vikings simply can’t cover and will have a hard time keeping up on the scoreboard. Keep in mind this is a brand new offensive and defensive system for Minnesota as they brought in two new coordinators this year. Head Coach Mike Zimmer is on the clock. Take the Colts.

Louisiana Tech/Southern Miss Over 58.5
Southern Miss has already fired their coach and now will be led by their 30 year old co-offensive coordinator Scotty Walden. In most cases I would say this is bad, but this team had a lot of energy this week and get the perfect opponent on defense. The Bulldogs of Louisiana Tech have a new defensive coordinator and only return really 1 starter on that side of the ball that started every game this year. Southern Miss is going to go up tempo and put points on the board. Southern Miss also has turnover on defense. This defensive line is pretty young. Louisiana Tech has a ton of offensive weapons. The question is will their QB’s be able to find these weapons? The secondary for Southern Miss is very young so I do imagine these experienced receiving targets will get open. Both teams should put up a lot of points. Take the Over.

Raiders -3 over Panthers
Ron Rivera is gone at head coach and the Panthers will start the Matt Rhule era today. Rhule was a coach at Baylor last year and this is his first NFL game as head coach. The Panthers will also start Teddy Bridgewater at QB. Bridgewater will learn a new system with first year OC Joe Brady who is just 30 years old. This team is going to once again depend on Christian McCaffery at running back and depend on his ability to catch the ball as well. The Panthers will have new guards on the offensive line as the welcome John Miller for Cincinnati and Dennis Daley is out with an ankle injury. This offensive line also welcomes Russell Okung from the Chargers. Simply put I think this offense struggles today. The Raiders have a new home in the city of Las Vegas, but it’s still the same team with their coaching staff in place from the last few years. This offense returns their entire offensive line and defensively really have made great improvements. This is a complete football team and should win on the road today. Take the Raiders.

Georgia Tech/Florida State Under 52
Florida State is again loaded with talent, but they have a brand new coaching staff. How they do week one against a gritty team will be their first true test. The Noles bring back QB Justin Blackmon. This team has a couple of good targets returning but will be without DJ Matthews today which will also hurt them in the return game. This team will also try to find a replacement for the departed Cam Akers. That won’t be an easy task. Georgia Tech has a very good defense that should be able to hold their own today. When the Yellow Jackets have the ball it will not be the triple option team we remember with Paul Johnson as head coach. They transitioned very well last year and it Geoff Collins 2nd year at coach this team should be a lot better. Collins still needs times to go out and recruit his own players for his own system. Many of these players are still carry overs from the Johnson era. Florida State is stacked on defense at every level. This Noles team has more talent and speed and should be able to hold Tech to a low offensive production. Both teams are breaking in new FG kickers as well. Nothing helps and under more than an 8 minute drive and a missed FG. Take the Under.

Pittsburgh is simply put just a bad baseball team right now and can’t hit right handed pitching for the life of them. Kansas City is just as bad record wise as both teams sit in the basement of their divisions, but the Royals have a 4 game win streak going and I just don’t see this struggling Pirates offense slowing them down tonight. Take Kansas City.

Xavier +4 over St. JohnsThis is a big game for both teams. Xavier has looked really good the past few games. St Johns is a fun team to watch with their fast pace guard play. This is a matchup between two different styles. St. Johns has not had success against big teams. Xavier is a big team. The size mismatch will be very obvious in this game. Xavier has dominated this series as of late, but if there ever was a time for the Red Storm to get a win it would be now. Mustapha Heron will miss the game tonight for St. Johns. This means the Red Storm are going to have to shoot around 50% to win this game because there is little doubt they will lose the battle on the boards tonight. This should be another great game that goes to the wire, but it might be hard for St. Johns to not only win this game but win by more than 2 possessions. Xavier is short-handed tonight, but I don’t believe St. Johns will be able to get them into foul trouble. Take Xavier.

UCF -2.5 over South FloridaThe first matchup this year was hard to watch as there was a foul on almost every single play. Central Florida were the much better team at home as Tacko Fall has a huge night and got to the foul line at will. Fall is a bad foul shooter, but he puts the opponents bigger players on the bench with foul trouble. USF did a great job of rebuilding their program, but it's all been smoke and mirrors. This team had a weak non conference schedule and beat the bottom of the barrel in the American Conference this year.
You could say the same for UCF, but this Knights team is a lot further along in their development. I don't believe USF will be able to handle shooters like Dawkins and Taylor and they will be frustrated trying to guard Fall at well over 7ft tall. UCF is trying to keep pace in the AAC Conference for a first round tournament bye. South Florida still has a long way to go before they can become a major player in this conference. Take UCF.

Indiana +2.5 over WisconsinThe margin for error is so small in the Big 10 Conference that’s why it’s no secret that the best teams in the nation with losing records are Penn State, Indiana and Illinois. On any given night a home team in this conference can beat anybody from top to bottom. Indiana has been one of the most unlucky teams in the nation this year. The way the ball has bounced against them in closing seconds of games has been unbelievable. This team just has not won close games in the Big 10, but have the talent to do so. Wisconsin is the perfect opponent because they are not going to blow teams out. I believe this game comes down to the wire again and just laws of averages are going to make this go in the favor of the Hoosiers tonight. This could be the win they need to pull them out of a funk and finish their season off with some purpose. Take Indiana.

This team obviously has the coaching as well to get a big win on the road, but sometimes it is easy to out think yourself. Michigan State is missing two of their best players and might be without another key senior reserve player today. Michigan is so good at home and plays rock solid defense. Every single player on Michigan produces each night. This team does not rely on one or two players to lead them to victory. Michigan State in my opinion won’t be able to play 40 solid minutes of basketball with this current rotation. Teams like Rutgers didn’t make them play. The Wolverines will. If Michigan State can go on the road in this atmosphere being as short handed as they are then good for them. I like our chances with the healthier home team that has won 22 straight in this building. Take Michigan.

The guy can do it all and not having him hurts this young basketball team that doesn't know how to play any other way than they have been playing. The Carrier Dome is a tough place to play and tough for 3 point shooting as well. Duke is not good from behind the three point line and might have trouble with this 2-3 zone on the road. I still think the Hawks have a long way to go with the injuries they have suffered this year, but this team should put up points tonight. St. Bonaventure's had no problem scoring in the first meeting this year. St. Joe's got out to the worst possible start you could imagine a few weeks ago against this team. Both teams got easy layups or dunks whenever they wanted in that game and both teams shot over 50% from the field. If the teams didn’t shoot 3 pointers it would have been like 70% all on shots no more than 2 feet from the basket. Simply put these teams can make shots whenever they want inside the paint and I just don’t think it’s mathematically possible for both to be as historically as bad from the foul line or the three point line. Could this Duke team be looking ahead to that monster of a game? Boston College doesn’t have much talent, but they do have experience and they do have tremendous size. I believe it will be harder for the Duke big men to bully their way to the basket. Look for Boston College to hang tough for a good majority of the first half and to keep this game relatively close. Rams/Patriots Over 56There is no need for me to point out how incredible Tom Brady is. I would be pointing out something you already know. I look at the entire body of work in the NFL Season and see a Patriots team that should not be favored on the road. This team could be playing the Arizona Cardinals and still shouldn’t be a favorite. The Patriots have stunk on the road this year. Let’s just be honest about it. This team lost the Jags, Lions, Titans, Dolphins and Steelers this year on the road. How many of those teams made the playoffs? This dynasty has been the most impressive run in all of sports history, but it’s coming to a close and these current Patriots are not an elite team outside of Foxboro. I also want to point out that no QB has ever won a Super Bowl in their 40’s. Brady is 41. Offensively, this Patriots team has all the tools to win this game. The Defense is the major concern I have with them. This is a below average defensive line and this current defense does not measure up to some of the prior units the Patriots have fielded in their Super Bowl runs. Brady is great when playing indoors. This man is the best player to ever play in the NFL. Even if he has a Super Bowl like last year the question is will it be enough?
Let’s talk about the Rams. The city of L.A. got two teams back in the area and are building a billion dollar stadium. Things are really looking up for L.A area football. Jared Goff has been sensational this season. Todd Gurley has been on another planet up until he got hurt. CJ Anderson came out of nowhere and looks better than Gurley. If Gurley is healthy this 1-2 combo is going to be tough to stop. The loss of Cooper Kupp was big for this team, but they have overcome a lot and are worthy of their appearance. The New Orleans Saints game will go down as the worst call in NFL History, but let’s not blame the Rams for that. The most impressive thing about this team is their rock solid offensive line. Not one player has missed a start. This well-oiled machine should have their way with the weaker Patriots Defensive Line. When I look at the Rams I see little flaw in them. This is a team that had as bad of a first quarter on the road two weeks ago and still never quit against the Saints. The Rams are lead upfront by nightmare players like Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh who can force turnovers. This team has the advantage in the trenches. Sean McVay has done a tremendous job. This guy is 33 years old. Wade Phillips is a tremendous guru for the defensive side. The Rams have a bright future for years to come.
I believe this will be a very entertaining football game. The Patriots just get things done no matter what the critics say and look..here they are again back in the Super Bowl. The Rams built a team with many new faces and have molded themselves into a power house. I believe New England will win this game in dramatic effect, but they will NOT cover. It’s a bold prediction, but L.A just has so many weapons on offense that I don’t think the Patriots can stop. Bill Belichick is a master of second half adjustments, but this year that has not been the case. A lot of teams have stormed their way back against New England. Last week the Chiefs held the ball for like 4 minutes and scored 24 fourth quarter points. This defense is not at a Super Bowl quality level. The fact that this is a neutral site where the crowd noise won’t be a factor is huge for both offenses. Both defenses are poor at stopping the run so I believe both QB’s will have their way. This is why I am taking the OVER. Both QB’s are great on 3rd down as

Chargers -6.5 over BroncosThe Chargers moved the ball up and down the field against the Broncos earlier in the season and lost on a last second field goal. The Broncos have the home crowd, but with the playoffs out of sight and a coaching change on the way you wonder how motivated they will be. This Broncos Offense is so limited and now with Phillip Lindsay out they don’t really have any weapons. This is such a big game for the Chargers who need to win this game. There is still an outside slim chance the Chargers get the #1 seed in the AFC. This team has more talent right now and should take advantage of a banged up Denver team that are in no hurry to get dressed for this game. Take the Chargers.

Browns -10 over BengalsThe Cleveland Browns were eliminated from the playoffs last night so you would think that would kill their energy, but what this team has done this year is greater than making the playoffs. This is an actual football city again. The Browns are not going to lay and egg now with this young team. Veteran teams do the tanking when they just miss the playoffs. As long as Hue Jackson is on that opposing sideline this team is looking to win by 40 points. The Bengals have no healthy receivers and a backup QB. The run game is a bright spot for the Bengals, but this is a Cleveland team that is fast in the trenches and should put pressure on the QB and make tackles at the line of scrimmage. Cleveland playing in their last home game of the year are going to give their fans a show. This is the first time the Browns have been double digit favorites since 1999. The Bengals are the worst defense in the league. This is a statement game for the Browns. Take Cleveland.

Lions +3 over BillsThe Lions have their flaws. This team put a few guys on IR this week and they are missing a few key running backs. Matthew Stafford is not at 100 percent, but he is one of the tougher guys in the NFL. The key to this game is the Buffalo running game with McCoy most likely missing todays contest and Chris Ivory being iffy as well. You can’t as a football team rely on Josh Allen to be a running QB all day. Sooner or later this guy is going to get hurt. The Lions have the linebackers and the secondary to keep Allen in check and I don’t think he has the accuracy to beat them either. The Bills FG kicker has also missed practice all week because of a blind side hit last week. Detroit could lay an egg with all the preseason expectations, but with a brand new coaching staff I don’t think they will. The Detroit defense played great last week. I look for them to extend that momentum into today. Take the Lions.

Cowboys -3 over EaglesThe Philadelphia Eagles Secondary is as banged up of a unit you will ever see in one calendar year. The Giants for some reason didn’t attack and the Redskins QB broke his leg early in the game last week so they could not attack. Dallas is going to attack these guys that don’t belong in the NFL. You never want to be mean about it because these guys are still 10 times better athletes then any of us sitting on the couch, but it’s the truth. Dallas has the best defense in the NFC and are coming off a signature Saints win. This game will probably decide the NFC East and right now the Cowboys are a better football team in all phases of the game not to mention they are in their home building. This is as easy as it will ever get for Dallas to knock of the Eagles. Take the Cowboys.

Cardinals +13.5 over PackersAaron Rodgers has not looked like himself this year. For starters, he is dealing with a nagging injury that won’t fully heal until the offseason. Rodgers has been working with a lot of new receivers and guys like Randall Cobb have been out a lot. Today’s game will be in the snow which I always think helps the offense, but the wind is what hurts an offense. The Forecast calls for 20mph high winds. I also wanted to play the OVER, but it had to be scratched due to the wind. Arizona is not a great football team, but they do have a great running back in David Johnson who went to college in this very type of weather in the Missouri Valley. I also like that the Cardinals are stacked with talent in the secondary. Great coverage gets even better in windy conditions. The Packers are very thin in the secondary today as both starting safeties are out of this game and a few corners are banged up as well. With Mike Daniels and Nick Perry now on IR this defense is even more vulnerable at all three levels. Lambeau Field is a tough place to play, but just I don’t think the Packers are a worthy enough football team to be favored by this amount. Josh Rosen is a young guy, but he does have the arm to push the ball downfield in this wind. Take the Cardinals.

UCF -3 over MemphisNot having QB McKenzie Milton is a huge loss for UCF, but they have one of the nations best turnover margins and they have pure electric speed from their running backs. Memphis has played bad defense against mobile QB's. UCF might be starting a young guy in Darriel Mack, but he has wheels. Memphis QB Brady White is only about 50% with his completions and turns the ball over too much for my liking. This Memphis team has the running game to win this game, but will the coaching abandon it like the have in many games this year? UCF has not lost in 2 years and will be playing for their QB today. Never underestimate the power of emotion when dealing with 22 year old players. I can't get over some of the losses Memphis suffered to really weak teams this year. Take UCF.

Dolphins +9 over ColtsThe Colts have been impressive as Andrew Luck has not been sacked in 5 straight games. Last week nobody on the Titans even touched him, but that impressive offensive line took a hit this week with Center Ryan Kelly not dressing today. Miami will get Ryan Tannehill back this afternoon. I am not sure if it’s a huge boost right now, but it will reenergize the offense. Lost in the shuffle of everything is the Colts Defense which is young and inexperienced. The Colts Offense has overshadowed them the last few weeks with the hot play of Andrew Luck, but this is not a team that should be favored by this much. Miami has a capable running game and good receivers to keep this game close. Take the Dolphins.

Ravens/Bengals over 44The Bengals took care of Baltimore in Week 2 as AJ Green went off for 3 touchdowns in the first half. Green is out of this game, but still 6.5 points is a lot with Flacco out of this game and Lamar Jackson making his first start. The key to this game is the Bengals linebackers who are all banged up in this game. Young QB’s that can run the ball give this Bengals team fits as they just are not fast enough to keep up. Baltimore will run all over this Bengals team today. The Bengals still have Andy Dalton who can get the ball to a Tyler Boyd or a John Ross. I expect this team to score some points which is why I also like the Over in this game. When the second half rolls around this Bengals Defense will be tired and that is when I expect to see that long drive or huge 60 yard run to finish this team off for good. Could it be payback time for being knocked out of the playoffs last year on the final play? Take the Ravens and the Over.

Saints -7.5 over EaglesMost people are betting the Eagles because of wishful thinking. There is no physical or statistical reason to bet them. Philly is missing every single one of their top cornerbacks this year and are thin in this secondary. There is no way Drew Brees is going to cool off now with these conditions at home. The Eagles have the offense to stay in this game, but they don’t have the coordinator to do so, unlike last year. Field goals in the red zone against the Saints will get you down 28-6 really quick. The Eagles lost to their rival Cowboys last week and I just don’t think this team has the key pieces needed to beat this team. Philly can’t run the football which really hurts keeping Brees on the sideline. The only way the Eagles stay in this game is a classic score for score shootout. I just don’t see it. Take the Saints.

Texans -3 over RedskinsThe Redskins for a second straight year are a mess on the offensive line. This is a team that is beating themselves before the ball is even snapped with penalties. The amazing thing is this team is in the driver’s seat in the NFC East. Houston has an aggressive defensive line that should put so much pressure on this patch work Redskins front. Deshaun Watson is starting to really peak at QB for the Texans. Look for this team to pound Lamar Miller and to be bullies on both sides of the ball. The Redskins have not gotten much production from their WR’s, they are thin at RB and their kicker is banged up. This could be a long day. Take Houston.

Giants/Bucs Over 52.5The Giants are the only team that has not won a game at home. You have to win home games to fill the seats. The NFL is a business. The Giants have all the talent needed on offense and today get a rare break against an awful defense that gets gashed with the deep ball. These are the afternoons you fill Odell Beckham Jr stat sheet to keep him happy. Both teams in this game have a ton of offensive talent. The weather today will be perfect for football and I believe we are going to see a shootout that slowly turns into a Giants blowouts. Tampa has 500 yards of offense last week against the Redskins and only 3 points to show for it. How does that happen? I believe the one or two mistakes by Fitzpatrick will be the difference in this game. Take the Giants and the Over.

Purdue -3.5 over WisconsinEvery team is entitled to that one game of the year in which you throw out the game tape. Purdue played that game last week against Minnesota as they were beat up by a young team who just fired their defensive coordinator and then went on to have their best defensive game of the season. Purdue looked awful. Wisconsin is a more talented football team than Minnesota, but Purdue plays a lot better behind their home crowd. Wisconsin always has a great defense, but they don’t have as much talent up front this year and the secondary is young. Purdue has so many talented offensive weapons that should get back on track this afternoon. The real story today is QB Jack Coan who will probably get the start for the Badgers today with Alex Hornibrook still suffering from a concussion. In my opinion Coan is not ready to hit the road and grab a victory for his team. The Boilermakers obviously will be all focus this afternoon after last week. Take Purdue.

Chargers/Raiders Over 50.5The Raiders Defense is bad because they keep trading away their best players and they can’t get after the QB. Phillip Rivers should dice this team up today and Melvin Gordon should have a huge game running the ball. If the Raiders would just throw the ball down the field they would be as good an offense as any team in the league. This offensive unit for Oakland, even after trading Cooper, has a lot of talent that is not being used correctly. Dinking and dunking doesn’t work in the NFL anymore. You must take your deep shots. The Chargers secondary has quite a few injuries to their corners this year so I do believe Oakland matches up well with their receivers. Jon Gruden is losing confidence from his fans fast. This Oakland team is clearly in tank mode, but you have to give the fans a show along the way. Look for the Raiders to have a decent day on offense and for this to be a high scoring game. Take the Over.

Pittsburgh -3.5 over Virginia TechPitt is playing today to get bowl eligible. This is a team that is playing with a purpose not just for their team, but their entire city. Virginia Tech has not been the same team we have seen in years past. This Bud Foster Defense just does not have the talent or the experience this year needed to win the games they typically win. Pitt has more talent on both sides of the football and should chew up yards today with both of their reliable senior running backs. This is a good Panthers Football team that has not turned the ball over in over a month. Take Pittsburgh.

Chargers +1.5 over SeahawksToday’s game showcases two teams that are flying under the radar. Seattle has strung together a few impressive wins as their offensive line has looked a lot better. The Chargers have been quietly taking care of business at have tremendous talent on both sides of the ball. The Chargers in my opinion have more talent. The Seahawks still have a new defense and I believe the Chargers match up very well in this game going against it. I don’t know if the Seahawks will be able to cover the tight ends and the running backs coming out of the backfield today. This is a tough building to play in, but without the elite defense of the past teams can and have proven they can win here. Phillip Rivers and the passing game will be a little bit too much for Seattle to handle. Take the Chargers.

Boston College -2 over Virginia TechVirginia Tech has always been a rock solid defensive football team with Bud Foster leading the defense, but that is just not the case this year. This is a defensive unit that is low on talent and short on experience. Teams that are capable of running the football run all over this team. The strength of Boston College is running the football. The Eagles have a huge offensive line and a Heisman type running back in AJ Dillon. Virginia Tech is without their starting QB for the rest of the year with a leg injury and they just don’t have the bodies to be competitive on offense. Boston College on defense leads the ACC in sacks and interceptions and should continue their winning ways today. Take Boston College.

LSU at night is almost a guaranteed loss for any team coming in. I am really shocked Vegas kept this line just under a touchdown. I think the wagering action will be all over LSU, but the public fails to remember this Mississippi State team dominated them last year and have all the tools to keep this game close. This staff for the Bulldogs is going to do great things in the next few years. I love how Mississippi State is playing in the trenches on both sides of the football and Nick Fitzgerald is a great at moving the chains with his feet. This team is tough. LSU has injuries on both sides of their offensive and defensive line and I believe this game could really send the Bulldogs on their way as a legit program in college football. This is going to be a great game. Take Mississippi State.

Jets -2.5 over ColtsThe Colts have all kinds of issues. For starters this is a first year staff on the road. Andrew Luck is still not back to the QB we remember him being, the running game is thin and banged up, the offensive line lost key players and is not healthy, their top TE and best WR are also out of this game. The Jets on the other hand have a big solid offensive line which is healthy, they can run the ball, and Sam Darnold looks better than an average rookie and this team finally has targets to throw the ball at. The Colts issues are just not on offense. The Indianapolis Defense only starts a few guys that were full time starters in the league last year. This defense is young and not very good. The Jets on defense have a lot of veterans and are quick to the football. This defense is also playing for a purpose as their defensive coordinator Kacy Rodgers is batting a major illness. This team is starting to peak. Take the Jets.

Duke/Georgia Tech Over 53.5Duke and Georgia Tech get together with two offensive minded coaches. The triple option is a pain to stop and I just don’t think this first year defensive coordinator duel shared staff for Duke is going to be able to put together a game plan against Paul Johnson to slow it down. In Week 1 Duke beat a weak Army team that runs a similar offense, but this is a super charged version of that. Duke has a future pro QB in Daniel Jones and simply put too many receivers and running backs for this secondary for Georgia Tech to stop. Both teams should have their way today on offense. Take the Over.

Jaguars +3 over ChiefsLost in the shuffle of how great Patrick Mahomes has been is the fact this Chiefs Defense has to be the worst in the NFL. Mahomes in my opinion is going to be a great QB. This guy is great at eluding the pass rush and turning water into wine. Some players have the ability to turn nothing into something. I do however dislike the hype for the young guy. He has faced bad defenses so far and last week the Broncos really shut him out until the 4th quarter where the flukiest of plays kept drives going and the play clock hitting zero without a penalty happened. I take nothing away from Mahomes, but you are not going to get that luck every week. The Jaguars are a more complete football team and their defense is the best in the league. Can this young QB for the Chiefs beat back to back championship level defenses in two weeks and on a short week? Jacksonville should be able to run on the Chiefs just like every other team has done this year. The Jaguars have already gotten over the hump on becoming an elite team. The Chiefs are almost there and of course have to win playoff games. I think the hype is a little too much. Take the Jaguars.

Florida +2 over LSUIt’s going to be the first sellout in the swamp in over 3 years with 90,000 people expected for this game. The Gators first year coaching staff has done pretty good although we admit they have not really been tested yet with a 4-1 record, but two road SEC wins are pretty impressive. LSU is one of those teams that the public has fallen in love with since day one this year. Joe Burrow is a good QB, but he is young and has not played in many road games. I do give him a lot of credit for his win at Auburn in his first true test, but the Tigers just are not the same team or at least were not in week 3. Florida has a solid offensive line, a good running game and Franks is a good enough QB to manage this offense. The Florida Defense does have issues in the secondary, but up front should get pressure of this Tigers Offensive line that has a lot of injuries on it this year. If Florida can slow up the run and cover up the TE position they should win this game behind the home crowd. Take Florida.

NFL Football 4:25 PM EST Rotation #307-308 Falcons -3.5 over Panthers There is some good things about the Falcons and some bad things about the Falcons. The coaching decisions and the play calling in my opinion is why they are on the playoff bubble. This team has more talent than anybody, but not the right minds calling in the plays. The good news is Matt Ryan has not been sacked that much this year and if they get into the playoffs that is going to make the dangerous. Carolina has been playing well and this game is important for them because of seeding, but they are in the playoffs which is a huge monkey off their back. Atlanta is the more desperate team and today’s setting for a football game couldn’t be more of an advantage for them. The Panthers do not have many healthy wide receivers for this game so I can’t see them keeping up the pace on this fast track inside the dome. Teams have been gashing this Panthers Defense for big chunk plays so I do expect Atlanta to do the same. This team can be so great if they just don’t beat themselves. The question today is do they beat themselves? Take the Falcons.
NFL Football 4:25 PM EST Rotation #311-312 Titans -1 over Jaguars This is an odd game because the Jags are locked in to their seed and have nothing to play for, but the coaching staff said the starters were going to play. Let’s remember they will have a game in a few short days if they get the Saturday game and let’s also remember the weather in this game is going to be cold and windy. If I am a coach I would not put my players through something so strenuous so late in the year. The real kicker is if the Titans win they will be playing the Jags next week in Jacksonville. So to add to my point the Jags would be silly to show an A+ game plan to the Titans for them to scout this upcoming week if they do get the victory. If I am the Jags I want this struggling Titans team as my first playoff opponent. The Titans have the same starting 5 offensive linemen dating back to last year and must take advantage today to avoid an epic collapse of not being able to reach the postseason. I don’t think the Jags are going to risk much and I think Tennessee moves on to the next round. Take the Titans.
NFL 1:00 PM EST Rotation #117-118 Broncos +3 over Redskins If you can pick an MVP of players who did so much with so little it hands down would have to be Kirk Cousins. This guy had a great year without his offensive line being healthy all year and player after player going down on offense, but now deep into the year it’s just too much to overcome. This team has no healthy running backs going against a great defense and Brock Osweiler is starting to look sharp as the Broncos QB. Today it looks as if Osweiler will be the only starter and have the keys to the offense all by himself. Emmanuel Sanders will not play, but I expect the Broncos to load up with the running game and to find the tight ends a lot in this one. The Broncos run game should have a big day while the Skins run game will keep them in longer 3rd downs which lead to more turnovers. Take the Broncos.
NFL 1:00 PM EST Rotation #309-310 Panthers -3 over Packers Aaron Rodgers returns today, but what about this Packers Defense? Green Bay has allowed some bad teams to put up points and I don’t think they have a physical enough defense to match the tempo Cam Newton and this running game bring to the table. The Green Bay running game is all rookies, but more important can this group pick up the blitz to not get Aaron Rodgers crushed? I don’t think they are mature enough to stop the Panthers linebackers. In my opinion the Packers are not a Super Bowl level team and it’s not right to rush Rodgers back. Take the Panthers.
NFL 1:00 PM EST Rotation #117-118 Packers -3 over Browns It’s not good for the league to see a team go winless and I hope the Browns get themselves a win at some point, but this is a team that doesn’t have any healthy reliable receivers. You can’t just throw Josh Gordon and Corey Coleman back into the fire after missing so much time and expect to move the chains. Green Bay has their flaws on defense, but still are the better football team here. Brett Hundley needs to start finding these great targets he has and the key in this game are those great Packers Receivers. Green Bay does not have much of a running game, but they do have ballers who can help out their quarterback. I think it’s a trendy pick to take Cleveland today, but I just don’t see them winning a football game until they get a few more pass rushers and play makers in the secondary. The Packers need this win to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. Take Green Bay.

NFL 4:25 PM EST Rotation #267-268 Rams -2 over Saints Rams/Saints Over 53 The Saints should get praise on how well their defense is playing, but part of me still thinks it’s fool’s gold. This is a unit that played many bad teams and many backup QB’s and today are now without their top starting cornerbacks. Jared Goff will be licking his chops. Drew Brees is having a fine year as is the rest of this balanced offense. This team is playing so well, but it’s hard to win on the road when you are so short handed in the secondary going against the best offense in the NFL. The Rams Offensive Line is massive and should wear this defense down. Look for the Rams to get the home win and for us to be entertained with great offense. Take the Rams and the Over.
NCAA Football 7:00 PM EST Rotation #211-212 Oregon State/Oregon Over 63 Oregon State ran for over 300 yards a year ago today. Ryan Nall and company will be licking their chops against a smaller defense and a secondary that has a lot of young faces on it. Oregon is lucky to have Justin Herbert back and is looking to make up for lost time as he missed a few games. This Oregon State Secondary simply can’t cover anybody in the nation with all the injuries they have. If Herbert throws the ball it will be a touchdown. If a running back gets into open field it will be a touchdown. Oregon State is not equipped to stop this offense. Look for a back and forth shootout with the Ducks pulling away late. Take the Over.

NCAA Football 3:30 EST Rotation #327-328 Georgia Tech -7 over Duke Duke was fools gold early in the football season. This team has lost 6 in a row and oddly enough the offenses has been the problem. This is a Blue Devils team that is very young up front on defense and I can’t imagine the little bumps and bruises these guys have from all the cut blocks last week against Army. It’s not fun when you are hitting the ground every single time the ball is snapped. The quick turnaround against the same type of offense, but only better is not going to fun for this defense. This Duke team might lose their will come the second half. Take Georgia Tech.

NFL Football 1:00 EST Rotation #255-256 Steelers -10 over Colts Indianapolis came into the season with so many new faces on defense and now due to injury some of these names are unrecognizable. Pittsburgh is loaded at the offensive line, running back and receiver position. There is just no way this team is not going to score today. The Colts on offense are going to have a tough time throwing the ball against all of these veterans in the Steelers Secondary. The Colts are out classed today in all phases of the game. This should be a big double digit Pittsburgh win. Take the Steelers.
NCAA Football 3:30 EST Rotation #163-164 Louisville -12 over Virginia Virginia got themselves a nice win last week to get bowl eligible. Louisville is trying themselves to punch their ticket to a bowl game with a win today. The Cardinals have a great offense lead by forgotten Heisman Lamar Jackson. It’s amazing what a year can do when your defense struggles. Virginia has put up points this year at times, but I think they will struggle with superior athletes who are flat out stronger and quicker. It’s overwhelming when you have to try to match this Cardinals Offense score for score when your offensive line is inexperienced like the one Virginia had coming into this season. Look for a big double digit Cardinal win. Take Louisville.

NCAAF 7:00 EST Rotation #405-406 Colorado State -4 over Wyoming Josh Allen still gets Heisman talk because people are remembering how great he was last year, but what they fail to remember is all that NFL talent he had to throw the ball to. This year Wyoming has no skill players at all and they don’t really have a great running game. Allen has not looked that great. Colorado State has their own great QB in Nick Stevens who has suffered no drop off from last year. The Rams are rolling right now on offense because they have a balanced running and passing attack. I believe the running attack will be the key for CSU and the lack of running game for Wyoming will be key in this game. Take Colorado State.

San Diego is rolling right now and looking to take advantage of a Patriots Defense that was exposed early on and now injuries will expose them once again. This team is banged up on all three levels of the defense and really will miss Donta Hightower being on the sidelines for the rest of the season. San Diego has the most accurate QB in the last decade and this team is as hot as anybody right now. New England has their own offensive weapons and it’s hard to believe they will get shut down at home, but San Diego does have the defense to keep them in this game for four quarters. I would not be shocked to see the upset. Take the Chargers and the Over.
NCAAF 9:30 PM EST Rotation #199-200 Washington State -2.5 over Arizona Washington State is a great team that had a head scratching loss two weeks ago to Cal, but came back with a shutout win last week. This team is stacked with multiple receivers and running backs and one of the best QB’s the PAC 12 has seen in Luke Falk. Arizona is a one trick pony, but very good at what they do which is running the football. Washington State has the speed to slow down the run and are more prone to losing to a team that can sling the ball up and down the field. That is not the case today. NFL 1:00 PM EST Rotation #457-458 Vikings -4 over Ravens Joe Flacco has looked awful this year, but much of it has to with injury. The Ravens don’t have an offensive line that can win at this level on the road. The Ravens lost a guy to retirement right before the season and two starters are on IR. This team doesn’t have that many quality backs and the running game will suffer with Terrance West out of this game. At receiver the Ravens are thin with Wallace and Maclin still not 100 percent. This is an offense that is going to struggle against a great front seven and against great shutdown corners. Baltimore has been vulnerable this year against the run so I do expect Minnesota to move the ball. The Vikings have a few good running backs and Case Keenum has filled in very nicely at quarterback. Baltimore’s offense puts them in a position to turn the ball over which will lead to Minnesota points. Take the Vikings.
NCAAF 8:00 PM EST Rotation #385-386 Arizona -3.5 over CAL CAL was supposed to be one of the bottom feeders of the PAC-12 but have been pretty impressive this year with the few tools they have. This passing defense has held their own against some really good quarterbacks. The problem for CAL is they are facing a heavy run team. Arizona is so good on their offensive line and have so many guys that can run the ball including the quarterback. CAL is not good enough offensively to stay in this football game. Look for the Wildcats to control the clock and score on the ground at will. Take Arizona.

NFL 1:00 PM EST Rotation #257-258 Saints -4 over Lions Detroit comes into this game with Matthew Stafford nursing an ankle injury, two offensive linemen on the right side most likely out and on defense a ton of injuries on the front 7. The Saints are the best defense in the NFL over the last two weeks which is shocking to say. Drew Brees is a tough QB to beat in his own building and should find his targets today against a banged up Lions Defense. This turf is not ideal for QB’s that are not 100 percent on their feet. A big part of Stafford’s game is taking off when routes breakdown. Take the Saints.
NCAAF 4:00 PM EST Rotation #175-176 Colorado/Oregon State Over 56 Last season Colorado went up and down the field on Oregon State so I don’t see much changing. The Buffs have multiple great running backs, a mobile QB and a ton of receivers. This offense is better than the defense in front of them. Oregon State is getting healthier and they too have a bunch of good backs and a great back in Ryan Nail. This team has a few underrated receivers that should get separation against a CU Secondary that has young players. Both teams should light up the scoreboard today. Take the Over.

NFL 1:00 EST Rotation #465-466 Panthers +2.5 over Lions The Lions came into the season with a lot of guys suspended on the defensive line and a few guys out on the offensive line. This is a team that is beat up big time in the trenches, but the odds makers in Vegas still have them as favorites. The front 7 today for Detroit is really banged up and in my opinion just not of NFL quality. Carolina can run the ball and Cam Newton being a duel threat is going to make it very tough on Detroit to get this team off the football field. This is a perfect example of a game being won in the trenches. Take the Panthers.
NCAAF 3:30 EST Rotation #321-322 Akron -6 over Ball State Ball State lost a lot of defensive talent from their team last year as it showed last week against Western Michigan. On Offense Ball State didn’t return much talent either and they key guys they did return are all out of this game today with injury. James Gilbert is a big part of this running game so without him this team is lost. Riley Neal is out with a leg injury and Corey Lacanaria is out at wide receiver. This team is just hurting badly due to injury and young talent. Akron has a little bit better of an offensive line and more talented skill players in this game. Look for the Zips to get the home win by throwing the ball all over this defense. Take Akron.

NFL 1:00 EST Rotation #263-264 Bengals -3 over Browns We have all witnesses the Bengals struggles and the head scratching reaction to Marvin Lewis still standing on that sideline after all of these years, but this is a game he simply can’t lose or they will have to let him go. The Browns do not have an experienced defense and I believe the Bengals will get their running game going which will set up the pass. The Browns on offense just don’t have many natural wide receivers on their roster to be able to move the ball up and down the field. I have been impressed with Cleveland, but record wise it is still the same old Browns. Take the Bengals.
NCAAF 7:00 EST Rotation #209-210 Memphis/UCF Over 68 If you look at the cornerbacks for both teams and their backups they combined for 19 total tackles and zero interceptions coming into the season. That is 8 guys combined. There is a chance because of a few injuries for Memphis that not one person on either team have any starts in the secondary from last year. Both offenses are going to have a field day tonight. Both teams have a great running game and multiple targets to pick apart the opposing secondary. Both offensive lines have the talent to protect their QB and I just can’t see this game not being close to over by the end of half time. Take the Over.

NFL 1:00 PM EST Rotation #477-478 Lions +3 over Falcons There is no doubt the Falcons are the front runner to get back to the Super Bowl, but they do have their struggles on the road and are going up against a Detroit team that is built for this fast turf just as much as Atlanta is. The key to this game is the Atlanta Offensive Line which has 2 key starters out today. The Lions have a quality defense and should put pressure on Ryan the same way the Falcons did against Aaron Rodgers last week. Detroit is going to be a scary team if this run game continues to get better. The wrong team is favored here. Take the Lions.

NFL 1:00 PM EST Rotation #273-274 Steelers -6 over Vikings I love this scenario. Minnesota looked great on MNF against an awful defense so people think they are legit. This might be the case, but remember the Vikings have a completely brand new offensive line heading out on the road against a stadium that is loud and tough to play in. The Steelers are great at spreading the field with their receivers which can help against a great Minnesota Defense. I love everything about the Steelers Offense this year and I just don’t see Minnesota matching them with their offense score for score today. Take the Steelers.
NCAAF 8:00 PM EST Rotation #147-148 Clemson -3 over Louisville Heisman winner Lamar Jackson is a home dog. That in itself is enough for everyone to back Louisville, but when you look closer we have to look at the supporting cast. The Cardinals run game is going to struggle without Jeremy Smith and this offensive line is still young. Clemson is breaking in a new QB, but Kelly Bryant can throw the ball and his offensive line will give him protection. Clemson has three targets who have caught over 70 passes in their career who can get themselves open. Clemson has an outstanding defense while Louisville is average at best. The battle of the trenches clearly is with the Tigers tonight. Take Clemson.

NFL 4:05 PM EST Rotation #471-472 Colts/Rams over 41.5 The Colts have turned over a brand new defense. It is not often that a team dumps just about every single player on their defense. The Colts today only have 3 of their top 11 tacklers from last year. I don’t care how weak the Rams might be on offense we have to remember this is the NFL. You can’t just plug in guys on defense and expect to pitch shutouts. Jared Goff has improved tremendously from last year to now and I expect big things out of this offense. The Colts are in a tough spot without Andrew Luck, but they did upgrade the running game and Scott Tolzen has been with the #1 offense all preseason and dating back to last year. It’s a lot different when a QB goes down on Sunday and a backup has no time to get ready. This is a game in which I think we will know by halftime if we are winners or not. Take the Over.
NCAAF 12:00 PM EST Rotation #315-316 Northwestern/Duke Over 54 The last couple of games these two teams have played have been pretty low scoring, but now the defenses lack the past talent and both teams have very little depth. Duke has a lot of true freshman on this defense and on the defensive line don’t have the edge rushers to put pressure on the QB. Northwestern is already down three defensive corners to start this season and they have the same problem with nobody able to get to the QB on defense. When we flip over to offense Duke has so much talent at the receiving position. The Blue Devils will just spread the field and find and open man. Daniel Jones is a good QB and he can also take off and run for first downs. Duke should score all day. Northwestern has two great running backs that should run all over this Duke Defense. The Wildcats also have talented receivers. This team should score on Duke all day. We are going to see a lot of points. Take the Over.

It’s the big debut tonight for Coastal Carolina as they take the step to the big level in College Football. This was UMass 5 years ago. Here is the bottom line. Coastal Carolina has never seen the athletes at this level. The size difference is going to shock them this year and they must adjust fast. I think the team from last year would be better suited as they had the best RB in school history on the roster and their offensive line was not a mess like it is now. This is a team that used 6 QB’s last year and their coach took a leave of absences this year. This team doesn’t have a talented group of receivers and in my opinion isn’t ready to take the next step at this high level. If they happen to win today than more power to them. UMass has a monster of an offensive line and should open up many running lanes today. Ford is an experienced QB for the Minutemen and if they can’t win this game they won’t win one all year. UMass has too much experience to lose this one and want revenge from their last second loss last week to Hawaii. Take UMass.

NFL 1:00 PM EST Rotation #115-116 Cardinals -2.5 over Dolphins The game plan should be simple for the Cardinals. Run the football and take advantage of a banged up Miami Defense. All three original starting linebackers are out of this game for Miami. This is not a good defense at stopping the run so if Arizona can be balanced they should be able to hit their homerun passes. Mike Pouncey being out is a game changed for this Dolphins Offensive Line. Arizona has a great defense and are in desperation mode right now trying to fight for a playoff spot. I like the Cardinals to be the more physical team today on the road. Take Arizona.

NFL Football 1:00 PM EST Rotation #361-362 49ers -2 over Bears Matt Barkley probably had the best statistical game ever last week in his career. This Bears team also dropped a ton of balls against a weak Titans Defense. I am not saying the 49ers Defense is much better, but they will not let Barkley do what he did last weekend. Colin Kaepernick is a duel threat QB who has been playing very well. The Bears are really banged up at the linebacker level and the secondary is also banged up. The Bears will have a new coach next year and don’t have much to play for in the final few weeks. San Francisco should win this one behind an up tempo offensive performance. Take the 49ers.
NCAA Football 8:00 PM EST Rotation #333-334 Wisconsin -3 over Penn State The winner of this game is probably not going to get into the playoffs. I don’t like it, but it’s just the way it went down this year. From the eye ball test we know Ohio State is better, but should it be the best 4 talented teams playing for the title or should be the teams that do what they are supposed to do and win the games that count? Because why even play the season slate of games if we are going to go off talent? You play to win your conference and that is why I have a problem with this situation. If Wisconsin wins the committee will just look at the head to head against Ohio State, but if Penn State wins it’s going to be a problem because they will be Conference Champs and have a head to head win over Ohio State. I think the committee does dodge a bullet because Penn State just hit a couple lucky patches and played weak teams. This is not a top ranked team and we all know it. This Nittany Lions Offensive Line is a mess so good luck running against one of the elite defenses in College Football this year. The Badgers played a tough schedule to prepare them for this spot and I believe they win big today. Take Wisconsin.

This is a football team that has no receiving threats and will really struggle against a Denver Defense that is getting healthy again after the bye week. Kansas City is very limited on both sides of the ball right now. Denver should do enough to win this football game. Take the Broncos.
NCAA Football 12:00 PM EST Rotation #215-216 Ohio State -4.5 over Michigan Michigan controls their Big 10 Title fate. Win and you are in, but I have two main concerns. The first is Michigan has only played 3 road games this year. You saw what Iowa did to them. The second concern is wagering against Urban Meyer in these types of spots. Not a good idea. Ohio State is young this year but has a ton of talent. Meyer turns water into wine and this home crowd will help the Buckeyes big time. Take Ohio State.

NFL 4:05 PM EST Rotation #467-468 Rams +1 over Dolphins The Jared Goff era begins today in Los Angeles. It goes without saying a big performance will be a great thing for the city and the NFL. The Rams have won two games this year without scoring a touchdown. In this league and in these times that is really impressive. This Rams Defensive Line was banged up for the middle part of the year and now are getting healthy. Miami played on the west coast last week and did not fly back to Miami. These guys have all been away from their family and home for two weeks now. Living in hotels and dining out takes a toll on the body. Miami is really banged up on the offensive line which should slow up Jay Ajayi today. Miami is not good against the run which is good news for Goff as this team doesn’t put the weight of the world on his throwing arm. Take the Rams.
NCAA Football 12:00 PM EST Rotation #359-360 Kansas State +1 over Baylor Baylor throws a new QB into the fire as Russell is out for the year. Zach Smith is just a freshman and not very mobile either. This Bears team is dysfunctional. Have they thrown in the towel? Bill Snyder is one of the best coaches in the game and will coach his team up to stop the run. Kansas State had two weeks to prepare for this game and there is not many coaches better than Snyder at getting his team prepared to win. I just don’t like the spiral Baylor has been on to keep their heads in a game against a disciplined team. Take Kansas State.

NFL 1:00 PM EST Rotation #265-266 Bears/Bucs Over 45 I have tried to limit totals this year because the NFL is just a circus with penalties, but I think this is a soft total. Tampa is brutal on defense and the Bears are hurt at every level on their defense. The Bears are one of those teams that are going to shock people down the stretch. Jordan Howard is turning into a super star running back and don’t chalk Cutler up to being a bum just yet. The Bucs might get Doug Martin back today which will make them a little more balanced on offense. I think both teams should be able to run the football and hit their big plays also. Take the Over.
NCAAF 12:00 PM EST Rotation #135-136 Navy -3 over Tulsa The only way you stop Navy is by having a good defense with smart players that understand how the option works. Tulsa doesn’t have a clue. Navy plays very tough at home and the only way to beat them is to slow down what they do best. That will not happen today. Take Navy.

NFL 1:00 PM EST Rotation #455-456 Giants -3 over Eagles The Eagles can’t spread the field on offense which is not good news going against this Giants Secondary today. This Eagles Defense is starting to come back down to earth from a surprisingly great start the first few weeks, fool’s gold. The Eagles went from having a great offensive line to losing a key player due to suspension and now another is out today. It’s never a good thing for a young quarterback when the shuffling begins. This is a team that is not doing well in the division and it’s going to be a tough road today against this Giants team that has multiple weapons. Until the Eagles can win in the division it’s not a bad idea to wager against them with these low lines. Take the Giants.
NCAAF 3:30 PM EST Rotation #347-348 Maryland +30 over Michigan Michigan is rolling at 8-0, but they have their flaws and just are coming off a week against their rival Michigan State where they looked less than perfect. Maryland is a scrappy team that can run the ball and they have a decent secondary that might be able to force some turnovers. We have yet to see Michigan play perfect outside of the Rutgers game. This is a great football team that is well coached and can win the National Title, but it will be a dog fight the entire way there. Look for the Terps to control the ball long enough to keep this game from getting out of reach. Take Maryland.

NFL 1:00 PM EST Rotation #259-260 Patriots -5 over Bills The Bills rocked New England earlier this year and even talked trash in the process. Not a smart idea. Brady was not in that game and this team is going to get their revenge today. The Bills front seven on defense is a mess with injury right now and I don’t see how they stop this offense today. On the offensive side Buffalo has no running game and just about every key receiver is hurt. This is a banged up football team, but Belichick and Brady will show no mercy. Take New England.
NCAAF 12:00 PM EST Rotation #183-184 UCF/Houston Under 59 Houston has a problem. This has nothing to do with a space craft and everything to do with the offensive line being a mess right now with injuries. Greg Ward is a good QB, but he is not your prototypical QB. This is a guy that is great with his feet and needs a solid offensive line to do damage. This Cougar rushing attack is hobbled and UCF is playing decent defense this year. Houston had a bad defensive game last week and with all the rumors of the coach leaving for a bigger school you might see another egg dropped today by this team. I do think Houston will be able to play solid defense at home and this should turn into a low scoring game. Take the Under.

7:30 PM EST Rotation #391-392 Michigan State -3 over Maryland Last week Perry Hills was a game time decision and was kept out so the injury must be pretty bad and it’s only been 7 days so he won’t be 100 percent anyway at quarterback for Maryland. The Terps were rocked last week by Minnesota. Michigan State might indeed be struggling, but they have the talent to beat programs like this and this might be the punching bag they need with Maryland themselves struggling to run the ball. Michigan State is too well coached to drop 5 games in a row. Take the Spartans.

Balfe Report : E33 : We split 2-2 on the day yesterday as the Titans allowed a double backdoor cover to of all teams the Cleveland Browns. We finish week 6 of the NFL with tonight's Jet's/Cardinals Pick and the AL Championships head back to Toronto as the BlueJays host the Indians. I have both picks now on the Monday Balfe Report. NFL 1:00 PM EST Rotation #251-252 Bengals +7.5 over Patriots Cincinnati does not have the multiple receivers like the past and they do miss Tyler Eifert, but this Patriots team is a bit overvalued considering their injuries on both sides of the ball. This running game has a lot of banged up players and even the key receivers all are nursing injury. This Patriots Offensive Line is already dealing with injury problems and there is no doubt the Bengals are the healthier team. All three starting Patriots linebackers were limited this week at practice and I believe this game is going to be a lot tighter than most think. Last week was not a good measuring stick on where Brady is because they played the Cleveland Browns. Cincinnati can actually get pressure on the QB and with Burfict back this defense has an identity. Take the Bengals. NFL 1:00 PM EST Rotation #259-260 Jaguars +2 over Bears I don’t even know where to begin with how injured this Bears team is on the defensive side. Last week Hoyer did a great job at moving the ball against the Colts, but this team still lost the football game. Jacksonville obviously is not an elite team, but they have a lot of young talent and most important are one of the healthiest teams in the league this year. Chicago just does not have the bodies on defense to put any pressure on Blake Bortles. This is not a league in which you can plug guys in and hope for winning results. Jacksonville is one win away from getting back on track in that weak division they play in. Chicago has lost 11 of their last 13 home games so this is not a building that has any home field advantage right now. Take the Jaguars. NFL 1:00 PM EST Rotation #265-266 Titans -7 over Browns Why do all the Cleveland QB’s keep getting hurt? The answer would be because this offensive line can’t protect the guys throwing the football. I do like the grit Cleveland has shown considering how banged up they have been, but now today are facing a Titans team that is on their way to getting to be a household name in the NFL. This Titans team has great players on defense and once they put it together could be the cream of the crop in their division this year. This team has a lot of skill on offense and I don’t see this banged up Browns Defense being able to keep pace today. Will Cody Kessler finish this game because if he can’t the Browns have no other options at QB. This is a team that just doesn’t have the talent in the passing game to mount any comebacks. Take the Titans.
NCAAF 12:00 PM EST Rotation #133-134 Georgia -13.5 over Vanderbilt Georgia has young QB who manages the game pretty well, but my concern is with Vanderbilt who just does not have any weapons on offense. This is a team that needs to win low scoring games. This crowd is going to intense and the running game will have big day today. NFL 1:00 PM EST Rotation #261-262 Lions -3 over Bears Lions/Bears over 48 Last week we took advantage by going against teams that were awful on defense and on top of that had multiple injuries. Las Vegas really has not adjusted yet and anything Under 50 points involving a Bears Defense is a steal. Chicago has no pass rush, just about any decent linebacker hurt and key players out in the secondary. The Lions don’t really have a running game and it will catch up with them this season, but with Stafford today he just needs to spread them out and pick the guy that is open. Easy as 1-2-3. Chicago will not defend these receivers. I think the Bears can score because the Lions have no edges on that defensive line and a lot of linebackers hurt. Neither team has much of a front seven today. Detroit has more talent and should win this football game on the road with it being very high scoring. Take the Lions and the Over.
NCAAF 8:00 PM EST Rotation #163-164 Clemson +2 over Louisville Clemson has not looked sharp this year on offense, but we can’t forget that this is a team a flick of the wrist away from winning the title last year. Mike Williams is back in the lineup for Clemson and this team is stacked on offense. There is no doubt Lamar Jackson is the best player to date this year in all of college football and he will get his points, but this is to me a classic example of looking at how a certain team performs against other teams and judging them. If the Cardinals can come into death valley at night and win then good for them and so be it. There is a lot of value here with the Tigers. Take Clemson.

NFL 1:00 PM EST Rotation #473-474 Packers -6.5 over Lions Packers/Lions Over 47 The Lions Defense is a mess right now. This front seven is all banged up so Green Bay and Aaron Rodgers should have no problem moving the football today. Detroit is not healthy at the running back spot so you are going to see Stafford throwing the ball a lot. There is a lot of new talent on this team that can move the chains. Green Bay has a few key injuries themselves on defense. I believe this is a game in which both teams will move the ball, but in the end the lack of running game for Detroit will be the reason they fall behind to the Packers. This is a perfect spot to play side and total. No parlays. Take the Packers and the Over.
NCAAF 7:30 PM EST Rotation #381-382 South Carolina +2 over Kentucky This might look like a good spot for Kentucky, but their defense is awful. This might be the worst defense in the country. I get that South Carolina is struggling on offense this year, but Kentucky can’t stop anybody and the Gamecocks do have an excellent defense. This is a mentally weak Kentucky team that does whatever it takes to lose football games. South Carolina has the edge in this game if close with the much better field goal kicker. I don’t think Kentucky will be able to take advantage in the red zone against this defense. Take South Carolina.

The Falcons have a good QB and their recent struggle the last few years is because of injury, but this is still a team that has a Julio Jones and now Sanu is making them spread the field. I was not thrilled with Oakland’s Defense last week. Too many things can happen for Atlanta to back themselves into a cover if they can’t get the outright win. The Raiders have a few guys already banged up on that offensive line so depth will be an issue late in the game. Take the Falcons.
NCAAF 7:00 PM EST Rotation #199-200 Tulane +5.5 over Navy (ML +200) I would not believe it if someone told me that Tulane was the team to hold Navy to their lowest rushing total last year, but it’s true. The Green Wave held them to 166 rushing yards. This season Tulane is again very good against the run and will be facing a team that has 5 new offensive lineman and are already on their second string QB. Tulane has more weapons on the offensive side of the ball this year and should cash the ticket today with the outright win. Take Tulane.

Minnesota returns everybody on their defense. The Vikings are a better overall football team and more prepared to start the season even with Bridgewater down for the season. Minnesota runs the football well with Peterson and plays rock solid defense. The Titans are close, but you still are going to see the rookie mistakes from this offense. Take the Vikings.
NCAAF Comp Pick 330 PM EST Rotation #341-342 UConn +4 over Navy Navy comes into today with 4 returning total starts on the offensive line which is good for the least amount in all of College Football. This team also took a QB from out of the stands last week because Smith went down for the year. In this triple option system you need an experienced signal caller and you need a solid offensive line that is experienced or you are going to get turnovers and penalties. This is a rebuilding year for Navy as they lost one if not the best triple option quarterbacks ever in Keenan Reynolds to graduation. UConn is always a good defensive team and has the coaching personal and talent to stop the triple option. On offense the Huskies return most of their starters from last year so I expect them to score today against smaller Navy Defenders. Take UConn.

Drew Lock is the quarterback under center who last year only completed 39 percent of his balls when he was on the road. Three of the top four receivers from last year are gone and there is little depth behind their starting running back. Missouri has a new coach who actually cut two of their better defensive line players because he wants a respectable team. Outstanding move on his part by sending that kind of message, but that does not win football games. West Virginia has a lot of offensive talent and are a balanced attack that can hit the home run ball on any play. Take West Virginia.
