Two thousand years ago, Jesus said that the Gospel would be preached to the ends of the earth and then the end would come. In the 21st century, we have the possibility, for the first time in history, of seeing the gospel preached to the ends of the earth indeed. But something unexpected has happened. Europe, which used to be the center of Christian civilization, has rapidly moved away from the faith and has become a post-Christian society. So we have a problem. Will Jesus leave Europe behind and usher in the end, or will he give Europe another chance to hear the Gospel and believe. The harvest is yet plentiful, but workers are few. The purpose of this podcast is to inspire and train workers for the harvest field in the last days. This podcast is not just for Europeans, but for every Christian everywhere who wants to serve Jesus better.
The evangelical movement and charismatic/Pentecostal movements were the two most important movements in Protestant Christianity in the 21st century. Evangelicalism made Christianity popular and accessible by emphasizing that salvation was free. Pentecostalism made Christianity exciting and attractive by emphasizing signs, wonders, and miracles. What can we learn from these two pivotal movements?

Mankind has not fully understood or accepted Jesus’s teachings and principles because they were way ahead of time. It requires the maturity of man to fully understand and accept what Jesus wanted to say. Although Christianity does not change, our understanding of it can. Christianity will develop in the direction of love. Apostle Paul’s greatest prophecy was that love will be the guiding principle of Christianity in the future.

Most people, including Christians, think that they can do whatever they want to do if they maintain control of their lives. They fear that they will not be able to do what they want if they hand the control over to the Holy Spirit. Nothing can be further from the truth. Unfulfilled desires, need for approval, fear of rejection, envy, jealousy, and anxiety vie for the control of your life so that you lost control of your life. Such people are powerless over their lives. That is why Apostle Paul said that you cannot do what you want to do in Galatians 5:17. It is when you give the control over to the Holy Spirit that you can truly do what you want to do.

In the mid-20th century, secular sociologists predicted that Christianity would die out in the West by the end of the 20th century. Their prediction seemed to come true at the end of the 20th century – except in America. So, sociologists studied why Christianity survived and thrived in America while it dwindled in other parts of the West. They discovered an important principle that agrees with the biblical doctrine of ministry, which applies to us today.

The 20th century saw tremendous changes worldwide in politics, economics, science, learning, and ways of living. Democracy, human rights, and civil rights were established in many countries for the first time. Humanity came into modernity. The old ways of living were replaced with the new. Amid such changes, people in the West quietly accepted the decline of the Christian faith as part of the process. But times have changed. In the 21st century, we must decide what we believe, who we are, and what matters to us the most. We must draw a line on the sand which we will not cross. The fiercest spiritual battle for the souls of humanity will be fought in the continent of Europe.
We tend to think that we need to persuade God into healing us, saving us, blessing us, and filling us with the Holy Spirit. God is ordinarily unwilling and reluctant, and so we must get him to change his mind, we think. Nothing can be further from the truth. God had made up his mind to heal us, save us, bless us, and give us all things. As proof, he sent his only Son. If God did not spare his own Son, how much more will he give us all things along with his Son. We need not persuade God but ourselves so that our thoughts will align with God’s will.

When God created man, he commanded him to replenish the earth. To replenish means to restore to a former condition. The easiest definition replenish is to refill, like a coffee refill. This is how we must continue to be filled with the Holy Spirit – the Lord daily replenishes us even though we are exhausted. Also, this is how God blesses us – he replenishes our barrel so that it does not become empty. Churches must also replenish their pews after older members pass away. Christians and communities of faith that have lost their capacity to replenish stand in need of healing.

Genesis chapter one begins by declaring God’s action without trying to explain about God. Jesus did not try to persuade people of the Kingdom of God; instead, Jesus demonstrated the reality of the Kingdom of God by healing the sick and casting out demons. Apostle Paul said his message and preaching were not with persuasive words of wisdom but with a demonstration of the Holy Spirit’s power. We cannot turn people away from sin and unbelief toward faith in Jesus by giving them more information because people’s hearts are desperately sick. We need to demonstrate that God is real, and the Kingdom of God is near them.

Believing the word of God is one thing, but letting the word of God to work for you is another. Wanting to be a sincere believer is one thing, but letting your faith work for you is another. Jesus performed miracles by using his faith and taught his disciples to do the same. Instead of trying to persuade God to do a favor for us, thinking that God is stingy and tight-fisted, we must believe that he is gracious and generous, already having made all things available to us. Knowing this fact transforms the way we pray to God and makes it possible to let our faith work for us.

There was a time when society was considered Christian and everyone born into it was a Christian by presumption whether he was born again or not. Such days are gone. Each person must be born again.
