Some years later, through no fault of his own, he was brought back to Cherryland when his family lost their living situation. Tell Me Something Interesting About A Grandparent! - I felt today's topic would be one of my favorite things I've have ever chatted with you about, and it 100 percent was! My grandparents have storied lives. My Nana wasn't allowed to continue her education after 8th grade and ended up doing laundry for the local brothel when she was just 14. (Around 1929). My Grandma, ended up playing in women's semi-professional baseball during WWII! My Pappy worked all sorts of jobs, but the one that always stuck out to me was he ran numbers in his tiny Pennsylvania town. And comically, ended up becoming a police dispatcher after his time running numbers. Finally there was my grandpa who stormed Normandy on D-Day with his three brothers. Salvation Army Teen Program! - I had Ruth Blick and Envoy Greg of the Salvation Army in Traverse City on today! We talked about how the needs for teens during the Christmas season is growing year after year! The Salvation Army Traverse City has a program specific to teenagers. It's called the Teen Angel Program! We have partnered with K1 Speed at the Cherryland Center in Traverse City, and Precision Collision in Frankfort to raise money for the program. On October 5th, from noon to 4 p.m., Real Rock105 and 95-5 and Classic Rock The BEAR will broadcast live from K1 Speed in TC as well As Wash N Go Car Wash In Traverse City and try to raise $1,000 dollars! Both K1 Speed and Precision Collision will match up to $1,000 dollars! This will be a huge help to give teens a great Christmas. Manistee Cat Hoarding Situation: Help! - Sadly, there was a cat hoarding situation that happened in Manistee. There was 70 cats found in a home. One rescue stepped up and took 30 of the cats, and then a neighbor stepped up. They took in 40 cats and are currently taking care of these cats while trying to adopt them out. Sand Baggage! - I randomly met Michael Brandon while at the beach last weekend. I saw he was filming what looked like an infomercial for his product. When he finished, I decided to introduce myself, and showed me what he created. It's called Sand Baggage, and it's basically a portable locker for your valuables. You have a bag that you fill with sand, it makes the weight about 60 lbs. In that bag you will store a second bag with your valuables. It can than be locked and you can safely leave your belongings while walking the beach or swimming. Believe it or not, it's strong enough to anchor a pontoon boat, and make your pets safer! Opal loves to be close, so much so, that her foster mom says it's difficult to get a good picture. We discovered a thyroid condition that requires inexpensive medicine. Opal gobbles up her meds mixed in with her food. Opal has never met a stranger. She likes everyone and will be an affectionate, attentive companion. Opel loves to be loved.Alfie was adopted a few years ago, and his adopters were told then that he should be an only cat, but after a while they adopted a kitten, and when he responded aggressively to it, they returned him. Alfie’s TC Paw foster knows that he’s the boss. He’s independent and will let you know when he wants affection. He enjoys having his head scratched, and he will often sleep at the base of your bed or lie on your desk as you work. Alfie likes to be included and will even knock on doors and meow if he’s left out of the action.

While using some free weights, I stepped backward. My foot landed on another free weight which began to roll. My legs shot up into the air and I came crashing down.
