Today we have New York City-based guitarist and harmonica player originally from Carpi, Italy, Noé Socha. As a kid after falling in love with blues music and Bob Dylan, Noé made his way to the U.S. and studied at the Berklee College of Music. A recording artist who’s shared studios and stages with all sorts of notable musicians, he’s recently released “Simplebluesboy” a beautiful instrumental album of Blues, Jazz Americana, Funk, and Roots music. The 3rd Annual Kofi Burbridge Day of Service on November 28th, 2023 was a one-day nationwide event in honor of Kofi’s legacy. New Jersey's own and hardcore Tedeschi Trucks Band fan Bob Oze Farrell is someone I would call a GREAT music fan. Growing up on The Carpenters, John Denver, and other countless iconic acts, Bob has pretty much seen them all live. That's why when he says TTB is the best live act EVER it carries weight. Bob recalls Susan's solo days and the Derek Trucks Band days, but didn't get super into all things Swamp Family until years later. Nevertheless Bob's all in now, and gets to as many shows as he can, including going to the band's Beacon Theatre residency which has become an amazing annual New York City experience for him.

Originally from Houston and now living in Austin, TX and working in tech, hardcore Tedeschi Trucks Band fan Jeff Fink recalls growing up and his dad the drummer playing music at all sorts of fun jams and barbecue cook outs. Soon enough Jeff would begin playing drums himself and his musical taste kept expanding. Jeff tells me all about his first time seeing Derek Trucks with the Allman Brothers, seeing Derek and Susan together pre-TTB, and he also talks all about seeing the band in many cities at this point. Red Rocks, Beacon, Ryman, Europe, and more. Jeff clearly loves this band, and I appreciate that.

Young photographer and videographer for Tedeschi Trucks Band, Bradley Strickland grew up in Jacksonville, Florida himself, and in a musical family as well. After showing interest in weather photography, he started taking concert photos at the local St. Augustine Amphitheater. Hardcore, longtime fan, and friend of Tedeschi Trucks Band, Maine’s own, James Ricker grew up in a rural area with a lot country music around, but was always into classic rock. Unfortunately he suffered an accident in 1990 that left him permanently paralyzed, but James’ story of rehabilitation is an inspiring one that I appreciate him sharing. He’s known Derek, Susan, and Mike Mattison personally for over 20 years now, and I also appreciate James sharing his tales of fishing and lobstering with the band -- and also of course sharing his love for the music.

At the tail end of this past September into early October, Tedeschi Trucks Band played their annual (sans 2020) residency at the Beacon Theatre. And for the first time ever, I made it to the Beacon to see the band -- for the final three shows of the run. Long Island’s own and one of our Tedeschi Trucks Band GiveButter raffle and auction organizers, the inspirational Lauri Lane grew up with Uncle Freddy as her music mentor as a kid. She has been to a countless amount of concerts in her life, including hundreds of TTB shows, but it’s hard to quantify just how much music means to Lauri. Her daughter Jessica, who was born with autism, was actually named after the Allman Brothers song, and we get into really how much music has helped Lauri’s family.

Photographer Alina Harmash grew up in Southern Ukraine and now resides in the capital city of Kiev, and this overseas Susan Tedeschi and Tedeschi Trucks Band fan tells me all about the musical and artistic influence of her family, and also how really all of her life's most important decisions have actually centered around music. Per his Instragram page Jeff Wood is a poster artist, painter, screenprinter, beadworker, and a tiny blip on the cosmic radar. He’s created so much wonderful artwork over the years for Derek, Susan, TTB, Gov't Mule, Widespread Panic, and beyond. His career is super impressive, and perhaps just as great is how much admiration Jeff has for all the visual artists before him, the music of TTB, other bands, and of course for the musicians themselves. Philadelphia based actor and playwright Jared Delaney grew up singing and performing, and always had eclectic music tastes. And it’s the soul aspect of Tedeschi Trucks Band that really grabs him. Having been to over 30 TTB shows now, we cover a lot and fanboy it up over so many aspects of the band. Musician Quinn Sullivan was born and raised in New Bedford, Massachusetts, and it was clear from an early age music was his thing. Enthralled by the Beatles, he first started playing a toy guitar he got for Christmas before he was even in kindergarten. Soon he got super into Buddy Guy’s music, and as a crazy-advanced player himself, even got to play with Buddy on stage. When he was like 8! Hardcore Tedeschi Trucks Band fan Ellen Rimkus is from the Chicago area and grew up listening to her dad’s “big stereo,” as he was a big influence on her musically. Ellen just loves rock and blues and live music in general, and it’s because he was dragging her to blues bars too and sneaking her inside… when she was at teenager. Eventually Ellen and her husband decided they love live music so much that they purchased a travel trailer so they can, well, see TTB as much as they could.

Tedeschi Trucks Band fan, Bob Beatty was born in Florida now resides in Tennessee. He recalls getting pretty hardcore into blues music at an early age, around 10. Not too long after he starting playing some guitar himself, playing with various bands over the years. Although his music taste is eclectic, the Allman Brothers Band and Derek Trucks have had a profound impact on Bob. Tedeschi Trucks Band fan, Ted Auch is originally from Connecticut, and after spending many years in Vermont, these days Ted and his family live in the Cleveland, Ohio area. We talk all about how music has always been a big part of his life, be it the Grateful Dead, Phish, Coltrane, or Zeppelin. On September 1, 2016 I was lucky enough to be there in person for the The Life and Legacy of B.B. King, a tribute concert, at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, California. It was a memorable experience, and performers included Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks, Keb' Mo', Slash, Jimmie Vaughan, Joe Bonamassa, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and more. All with Conan O'Brien's Basic Cable Band as the house band for the evening.
