Join Bishop Dudley and Dr. Marty K. Casey on this new podcast episode! How do you overcome hurt, disappointment, trauma and bounce back to a place of purpose? Dr Casey has the answers and techniques to move you pass hurt into being a hero to yourself and others who look to you for leadership. She brings all her past as actress, activist, personal coach and many awards from Presidential to regional to bear to elevate you into the leader you are called to be. BIO: After more than three decades as a performing artist on major global stages, Marty K. Casey, has transformed her craft beyond the world of entertainment to show the restorative power of the arts to heal hurting people. In 2020, just days before a forced lock down caused by a global pandemic, Dr. Casey performed her one-woman show in the Big Apple for the largest non-profit nation-wide, AARP New York. Casey brilliantly used the story of her own trauma-ridden life to give hope to a sold-out crowd. This performance shined the light on arts efficacy as a tool for mitigating trauma impact. Following her New York show, the close of theatres throughout the world brought an abrupt halt to Casey’s live performances, a pivotal moment that prompted Dr. Casey to relaunch her artistic focus to address a more pressing societal need: trauma impact resolution.

Toward this end, Casey leveraged the ARTS for therapeutic purposes, and in 2020, she founded UnGun® Institute, where the display of synergy between applied arts and trauma healing could be maximized and experienced by the masses. In the span of just two years, Dr. Casey and her Team have presented UnGun® workshops for organizations such as Preferred Family Healthcare (St. Louis, MO); St. Louis Public Schools (St. Louis, MO); Blessed are the Peace Makers and National Black Police Association (Dallas, TX); The Peace Center (Bathe, Maine); St. Louis Service Women’s Post 404 (St. Louis, MO), To date, nearly 10,000 people have been positively impacted by UnGun® methodology and strategies. An ode to her entertainment roots and with expected impact on the entertainment industry, UnGun® products have been numerously featured inside the Gifting Suites of the Oscars and the Emmy Awards.

Her message of healing and now her trademarked UnGun® approach for mitigating the impact of trauma have landed Dr. Casey on stages beyond the theatre to broader spaces that include government, education, business, healthcare, and community-based sectors. She has represented the UnGun® Institute as a featured presenter for the Parliament of the World’s Religion Global Conference; World Unity Week; World Peace Week; Alex Haley Museum; American Voice Foundation; General Congress of Women; African American Museum; Chosen for Change Foundation; The Michael O.D. Brown Foundation; and Shoot for the Stars Foundation (Hip Hop Artist Pop Smoke Memorial Foundation) to name a few.

Featured on the cover of the St. Louis Business Journal, Dr. Casey is lauded as one of the Top 25 Most Influential Businesswomen in St. Louis. In 2021, she received the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award signed by President Joseph R. Biden. Dr. Casey actively serves on the Grants Council for PurposeEarth.com in alignment with her mission to heal communities through the empowerment of recovery through expressive arts.

Globally recognized as a transformational trauma coach, Dr. Marty K. Casey remains committed to equipping as many people possible with strategies, tools, and techniques for eradicating harmful responses to trauma that wreak havoc on families, communities, and the world, at large.

Replacement Theory Vs Critical Race Theory!

The Great Replacement Theory has taken hold in America even though its roots are deeply imbedded in white supremacy and white nationalism. Given that this theory is propagated in some quarters of main stream America it is incumbent upon leaders to learn how to lead others in the wake of this theory. Dr Emerson drills down into this theory and compares it to Critical Race Theory. He gives leaders the handles as to how to pull followers through the maze of racism.

Michael O. Emerson (Ph.D., University of North Carolina, 1991) is Professor and Head in the Department of Sociology at the University of Illinois Chicago. He has published widely in the areas of race, religion, and urban sociology.  He is the author of 15 books and nearly 100 other publications, secured over 7 million dollars in research grants, and has won several national awards for his research.  He is the married and the father of four children. He and his wife Joni attend New Community Covenant Church in Chicago.

How do you add intelligence to your emotions? How do you increase your emotional intelligence? How do you become so self-aware as well as socially aware that you regulate your emotions to a point of increasing your success rate in your leadership? How do you read others’ emotions and respond to them in such a manner you are able to lead them? Dr Chaison, an expert in emotional intelligence, does a deep dive into emotional intelligence (EQ); how to assess it, develop it and successively use it to lead others.

iLead in Any Room Podcast: Emotional Intelligence in Leadership: Leading Smarter, Not Harder

Inherent in most definitions of leadership is the concept of emotion. For example, leadership has been described as getting people to do things they wouldn’t ordinarily do and feel good about it. Feelings, or emotions, are a vital part of the human experience that move us to action, and those actions have consequences – both good and bad. While emotions can serve to motivate us to reach our goals, emotions can also serve to derail us and get us off track from our goals.

In this podcast, Dr. Angelic Chaison will discuss the importance of emotional intelligence in facilitating effective and empowering leadership. Leaders who practice emotional intelligence know how to harness the power of emotions within themselves and the people they lead in order to steer their teams to successful accomplishment of meaningful and life-changing goals. Dr. Chaison will share helpful tips on ways to practice emotional intelligence both in your leadership and your daily life. Emotional intelligence is an absolute must-have in every leader’s toolbox. iLead listeners, tune in now because this is a conversation you don’t want to miss.

Academically, Dr. Moody is well-versed. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin in 1991, he completed a Master of Arts in Developmental Education from Texas State University in 2001. In 2013, he earned his Doctorate of Strategic Leadership from Regent University. Dr. Moody’s work background has been all-inclusive - from counseling and administration, curricula and training course design, to teaching pedagogy classes at seminars throughout the country. Moreover, he excels in the area of relationship seminars, both for married couples as well as singles.

Dr. Moody is not satisfied with being a mere onlooker at life’s state of affairs but is relentless and sincere in his drive to improve the community in which he resides. There is an undeclared “state of emergency” in regards to the educational environment of minority children and youth in our community, and he has established the Alpha Preparatory Academy to address it. His goal is to create intellectual leaders of tomorrow while equipping them with the tools that are necessary to compete in the new global economy. An outburst of obesity-related diseases is ravaging our region's health to the point that 1 out of 3 minorities is either pre-diabetic or already diabetic in Williamson County alone. This epidemic is the reason why he created the Community of Coalition of Health, also known as C2H. His goal is for C2H to become a hub that works with local, regional and national health organizations to improve the quality of health services provided. After seeing a desperate need for affordable housing due to documented economic stratification in Williamson County, he started The Moody Housing Corporation. His goal is to address the rental and ownership needs of a displaced population. Dr. Moody utilizes his Doctoral training in Strategic Leadership and Futuring to look ahead into the distance and discuss the issues and concerns of tomorrow.

Critical Race Theory is a deep dive into how race has been used to divide and conquer. It is not an accident that the majority has remained in power since slavery and even before slavery. Power has been maintained by inculcating everyone to maintain the status quo and then using laws to normalize the power of the majority. This theoretical lens is now being used as a political wedge issue. This episode skillfully uncovers how and why with facts, figures and enlightening discussion. Dr Dudley and Dr Emerson’s provocative conversation will empower some and infuriate others. Listen in!

Leading in tough tumultuous times requires a leader that can lead in any room. Governor Pritzker shares his insights and practical approach to leading in this historical moment of political, societal and cultural disruption and upheaval. from a billionaire business man to leading the nations 6th most populated states, the Governor shares with iLead Podcast some powerful leadership principles.

Bio of Guest:
Governor JB Pritzker was sworn in as the 43rd governor of the state of Illinois on January 14, 2019 and won election with the largest margin of victory over a sitting governor in more than a century.

After taking the oath of office, Governor Pritzker immediately began working with Democrats and Republicans to accomplish one of the most ambitious and consequential legislative agendas in state history. During his first session, the governor passed a balanced budget with a bipartisan majority, making historic investments in education and human services, while restoring fiscal stability to Illinois. The governor also won bipartisan passage for legalization of adult-use recreational cannabis and for Rebuild Illinois, the largest investment in state history to upgrade roads, bridges, rail, broadband, and universities in every corner of the state.

The governor took bold action, putting state government back on the side of working families by creating hundreds of thousands of jobs, raising the minimum wage to a living wage, making college more affordable for nearly 10,000 additional students, and advancing equal pay for women.

A national leader in early childhood education for over 20 years and having organized President Obama’s White House Summit on Early Childhood Education, Governor Pritzker this year made childcare and preschool more affordable in Illinois for tens of thousands more families. He also partnered with the Greater Chicago Food Depository and Share our Strength to fight child poverty by expanding school breakfast programs in low income school districts across our state.

Before becoming governor, Pritzker founded 1871, the non-profit small business incubator in Chicago that has helped entrepreneurs create more than 11,000 jobs and more than 1,000 new companies. Since the creation of 1871, Chicago has been named one of the top ten technology startup hubs in the world, and 1871 was named the best incubator in the world. As governor, he has expanded support for new business incubators and cut taxes for hundreds of thousands of small businesses while incentivizing job creation and innovation. He also extended research and development tax credits to help manufacturing workers and businesses thrive, and he worked with the business community to create apprenticeship tax credits to promote job training.

The descendant of refugees, Governor Pritzker believes our state and our nation should welcome and protect its immigrant families and that we must fight against the wave of intolerance that has risen in recent years. Before becoming governor, he led the creation of the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center, a nationally recognized institution where hundreds of thousands of students, teachers, police officers and others learn to fight bigotry and hatred. As governor, he has built the most diverse cabinet and governor’s office in Illinois history.

Governor Pritzker and First Lady MK Pritzker have been married for more than a quarter century, and they are the proud parents of two children.

Dr. Dudley interviews Dasha Kennedy.  So many people want to be influencers on social media. They want to know the secret. They want the inside scoop, the plan, the playbook! Well Dasha is about to tell them how shoe became a leader on social media in the personal finance space. Leading in any space is difficult but not knowing makes even more difficult Dasha has the know-how and shares it in detail.

Dasha Kennedy is an award-winning financial activist, educator, and creator of The Broke Black Girl, a digital community that provides culturally relevant financial literacy tools to over 70,000 black women to combat the racial and gender wealth gap. After quickly climbing the finance industry ranks at 19 and realizing minority women were largely underrepresented and underserved, she started her own financial coaching company to fill that void. Today, she advocates for equity and cultural competence in financial education by raising awareness of how systemic oppression affects minority women's ability to generate adequate wealth and how all women can collectively fight this issue.

Dr. Dudley has an incredibly inspiring conversation with US Senator Tammy Duckworth. Senator Tammy Duckworth gives leadership principles from the perspective of one of the nations first combat pilots and Illinois’ Junior Senator who took President Obama Senate Seat. Her persistence to lead after getting a second chance on life after being shot down by a RPG and losing both legs and full function in her right arm is powerful lessons!
BIO
Senator Tammy Duckworth is an Iraq War Veteran, Purple Heart recipient and former Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs who was among the first handful of Army women to fly combat missions during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Duckworth served in the Reserve Forces for 23 years before retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in 2014. She was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2016 after representing Illinois’s Eighth Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives for two terms.

In 2004, Duckworth was deployed to Iraq as a Blackhawk helicopter pilot for the Illinois Army National Guard. On November 12, 2004, her helicopter was hit by an RPG and she lost her legs and partial use of her right arm. Senator Duckworth spent the next year recovering at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where she quickly became an advocate for her fellow Soldiers. After she recovered, she became Director of the Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs, where she helped create a tax credit for employers that hire Veterans, established a first-in-the-nation 24/7 Veterans crisis hotline and developed innovative programs to improve Veterans’ access to housing and health care.

In the U.S. House, Duckworth served on the Armed Services Committee and was an advocate for working families and job creation, introducing bills like her bipartisan Friendly Airports for Mothers (FAM) Act to ensure new mothers have access to safe, clean and accessible lactation rooms when traveling through airports, which is now law. She helped lead passage of the bipartisan Clay Hunt SAV Act, which enhanced efforts to track and reduce Veteran suicides. She also passed the Troop Talent Act to help returning Veterans find jobs in the private sector and worked to cut waste and fraud at the Pentagon and throughout government, including passing a common-sense provision that was projected to save taxpayers $4 billion by reducing redundancy in military uniforms.

In the U.S. Senate, Duckworth advocates for practical, common-sense solutions needed to move our state and country forward like rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure, protecting Illinoisans from lead poisoning, growing manufacturing jobs while supporting minority-owned small businesses, investing in communities that have been ignored for too long and making college more affordable for all Americans. She co-founded the Senate’s first-ever Environmental Justice Caucus and also continues her lifelong mission of supporting, protecting and keeping the promises we’ve made to our Veterans as well as ensuring that we stand fully behind the troops our nation sends into danger overseas. In 2018, after Duckworth became the first Senator to give birth while serving in office, she sent a message to working families across the country about the value of family-friendly policies by securing a historic rules change that allows Senators to bring their infant children onto the Senate floor. As Senator, she advocates for practical, common-sense solutions needed to move our country and our state forward

Duckworth is fluent in Thai and Indonesian. She attended college at the University of Hawaii and earned a Master of Arts in International Affairs from the George Washington University. Following graduation, Duckworth moved to Illinois and began pursuing a Ph.D. in Political Science at Northern Illinois University and later worked for Rotary International. To t

Dr. Dudley discusses business startups and leadership "unlocked" with Renita Alexander: Servant Leader, Retired Air Force officer, Author, and Founder, Leadership Unlocked

Renita Alexander is passionate about leadership! As the oldest of W.L. and Fannie Smith’s five children and the oldest grandchild on both sides of the family, she was often “voluntold” to take on some task and learned early on that responsibility is difficult with no authority. She has been a student of leadership since, applying what she read, witnessed and experienced as an Air Force officer and leadership coach to consistently improve her leadership.

Since retiring from the Air Force after 27 years and moving to Chicago, Alexander has put her leadership knowledge to use, co-founding The Social Leadership Academy, a global education company for aspiring entrepreneurs and leaders, facilitating MoxE Women, a group of Christian leaders and entrepreneurs, and creating the Leadership Empowerment Academy for the Air Force Academy High School to help young leaders find their leadership strengths. Her company, Leadership Unlocked, is a full service, leadership development and training company focused on developing servant leaders.

Alexander’s book, Just Breathe: Leading Myself One Breath at a Time, was released in 2019. She believes that being the leader you are called to be is the journey of a lifetime.

Dr. Dudley uses the first chapter of his book "Familiy'ish" to introduce the concepts of what it means to be a covenant family.

This episode is the first chapter of the book which shows how being a covenant family is the goal no matter the makeup of the family structure. Here is how…there are 5 principles:

  1. Grace is simply love. It’s a continuous caring, an offering of opportunities, and a meeting of needs. This kind of love isn’t a biochemical rush. Feelings can change in a second. Grace doesn’t change. Grace is what every family needs.

  2. Intentionality which is simply a sense of purpose. Family life in this chaotic confusing rushed world must be intentional. Randomness won’t raise a fabulous family. Intentionality is a compass, a roadmap.

  3. Intimacy is closeness, an openness, a sharing of what’s in your heart and on your mind with others, especially others you trust and are close to. Transparency between family members builds trust to get through the difficult times.

  4. Empowered families beat the odds in three ways. It possesses authority, a sense of identity, and a sense of direction. A covenant family knows who it is. It permits family members to develop into individuals. It celebrates and uses its strengths and weaknesses.

  5. Life’s lessons. Bad things happen to everybody. A covenant family has a history and learns from it. trouble, difficulties and setbacks happen to every family - learning from it makes it a fabulous family

Dr Dudley discuss the pitfalls of church finances, loan applications, construction and how to win with Mr. Kenneth Lewis. Black churches faces an insurmountable hills in getting their projects financed especially now. Red lining exist even in the church financial. Listeners will learn how to avoid the mines in this minefield and build the kingdom.

Kenneth Lewis BIO
Mr. Kenneth Lewis’ expertise for the past three decades has been in the real estate and finance industry. After the economic crash of 2008, he was distressed by the number of residences and churches that were being foreclosed.

As individuals lost their homes and jobs, tithes and offerings that sustain the churches diminished along with values. The church has always been very close to Kenneth’s heart and he saw a need for his extensive business experience. Thus, Clearinghouse Advisory Group, Inc. was created to service the churches by consulting, negotiating and restructuring organizations and working in the capacity of liaison to find resolutions and benefit all parties involved. Churches impact communities and foreclosures hurt communities.

With determination and integrity, Kenneth makes it his resolve to negotiate a deal that is a win-win for everyone involved. Kenneth’s drive to succeed has been essential to his success as he represents some of the largest churches across the country as well as small churches! Kenneth is in the trenches each and every day! Plowing through challenges and overcoming obstacles while building relationships where solutions can be found. Kenneth has built meaningful and personal relationships with Bank of America, PNC Bank, Old Tennessee, Centennial Bank, Wells Fargo , Woodforest National Bank , and Sharefinancial to name a few.

He founded and impacted a men’s group called, “The Bold Warriors for Christ”. His focus for this group was to empower men to be the head of their homes, their families and their businesses.
