We are in week four of Series B.L.E.S.S.! This week, Gregg talk about how a simple meal can lead to lasting life change.
We have to start listening to God, listening to others, and then listening to our community in order to bless those around us.
Our call as believers is to love God, love our neighbors, and make disciples. In week two of the B.L.E.S.S. series, we take a look at prayer's role the great commandment to reach the lost with the Gospel. Jesus' ministry started with prayer, and ours should too.
Most christians have a desire to share their faith but don’t know how to start… Do we try and convert people by sharing the gospel but without relational equity? Do we try and love people well but never actually get around to sharing the gospel? We believe there is a better way to share our faith that will be a blessing to our whole community.
Spiritual formation is an endurance sport that you have to be conditioned for. Are you conditioned to just be with God? Not to talk or listen to, but just to be with God?
Imagine being able to have a conversation with God. To know that you're not just talking to Him but He's actually talking back to you. Have you ever desired such communion with Him? To speak to Him as you do a friend? Do you even think it is possible?
Prayer changes from a surface level conversation to a deep relationship as we learn to talk "with" God.
Do you ever struggle to pray? Do you have the desire to but the distractions of life choke it out? Do you feel like it's a discipline to be managed rather than a delight? In this new four part series on prayer we want to lay a foundation for what pray is and how we can become a people devoted to prayer.
Leaving a legacy has more to do with what we leave "in" people than what we leave "for" people, and what we leave for others will be directly tied to who we're living for now.
The Apostle Paul was so devoted to Jesus that he could tell people to follow him as he followed Christ. What would it look like for you and I to leave a legacy in the way we mentor others?
"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." - Proverbs 22:6 ESV
Today we look as some practical ways to leave a legacy within our own families.
The Church leaving a legacy that outlives us will not happen by chance! Even if we do great things, see God move in miraculous ways, and have all the legacy stories of God. If we don’t intentionally pass the baton of faith it can all end overnight!
If you want to leave a legacy later, start living a legacy now. We have to redefine what legacy looks like in order to truly understand how to start living one today.
Jesus tells us that He is the True Vine. Jesus knew we would be prone to connecting ourselves to false vines that produce rotten fruit. Who are you connected to, and what kind of fruit is being produced in your life?
Jesus is sharing His last meal with his friends while explaining to them that He is about to die and leave them... Can you imagine the anxiety His followers felt upon hearing this news?
How anxious are you today? As we dive into today's message we'll discover what Jesus said after the bad news to His followers. We pray you're inspired and encouraged as you listen to this message.
Jesus is the radiance of the Father and fills the world with His light. As His followers we are called to light up the darkness.
The Bible refers to humans being compared to sheep approximately 55 times, while God describes Himself as a shepherd around 44 times. This analogy is important and appears to be one of the Lord's favorites. There's a wealth of wisdom to glean from understanding ourselves as sheep and Jesus as our shepherd.
Saint Augustine said "You have made us for yourself, O Lord and our hearts are restless until they rest in you."
We all have longings, desires, and appetites. We feel deep down the need for bread, the need to be full, the need to be filled...but where do you go to fulfill these appetites, and does it truly satisfy?
Jesus claimed to be the source of resurrection and eternal life. The question He asked Martha is the question we must answer... "Do you believe this?"
By aligning Himself with the "I Am" of Exodus, Jesus explicitly claims divinity, challenging the contemporary understanding of God and demanding a reevaluation of His Identity and mission.
In the Gospel of John Jesus makes many statements about who He is.
The question is "who do you say He is?"

If you’re single you shouldn’t look to marriage as your ultimate home. If you’re married you shouldn’t look to your marriage as your ultimate home. Whether you’re single or married your ultimate home should be in Jesus.
God created both male and female in His image and His design was perfect. When we are able to embrace one another's unique design, and gifts, then our marriages become a display of the goodness of God to the world around us.
We were created to be fully known by God and one another. Don't buy the lie that a pretty facade is better than an ugly truth.
Second to our relationship with God is our relationship with our spouse. It must take priority over parenting, career, hobbies, etc... but if our marriages are going to thrive we have to have a common mission. What is the mission of your marriage?
When it comes to relationships many of us let our feelings dictate our actions. If there aren’t any “feelings” of love towards our spouse, or friends, we act upon that feeling and choose to stay disconnected from them. What if God related to us this way? What if He only served, or loved us, when we were attractive to Him? Thankfully this is not the truth.
If we're honest... most of us are self-centered. It is within our nature to make things all about us. If we're ever going to fix this then we need to have a power source outside of ourselves.

In the last days Peter reminds the Church that there will be people who are going to try and lead us astray from the truth. These lies will not always be obvious but subtle distortions of the truth. As followers of Christ we need to be on guard and equip ourselves with the truth.

God has a transformation story written for each of us, but in order to see that transformation take place, we have to allow a spiritual metamorphosis to take place. For some of us, surrender to that process comes fairly easy, but for some, we have to look a little like caterpillar soup before we surrender to the beauty of God’s plan.
All of us go through conflict in our lives. It's easy to act out of anger in certain situations, or to hold on to bitterness in our hearts towards those who've wronged us. As followers of Jesus our aim is to become more like Him, so what does God say about how we are to handle conflict?

God disciplines those He loves. That statement might sound harsh depending on your view of discipline. In Genesis chapter 10 humanity decides to rebel against God in order to make a name for themselves. We see that pride was the root of their sin. What are your aspirations and dreams? Are they aimed at making much of God or to make a name for yourself? You have the option today to choose humility or one day God will choose it for you.
After the flood subsides we see that sin makes a comeback... Within Genesis 8 we find a blue print for today on how we should and shouldn't respond to the sin's of other people.
Can you put a price tag on human life? In Genesis Chapters 8-9 we see that God makes a covenant with Noah. This covenant shows us that God finds life and people as extremely valuable. Do you see life and people the way God does?
In Genesis 6-8 we finally see the day of judgement come, but God makes a way for Noah and his family to be spared. The scriptures tell us that similar to Noah's story another day of judgment is coming. God has prepared an ark, the question is "will you enter in?"
One of our roles as human beings is to “image” our Creator, or put another way, to accurately represent God’s character and nature on the earth. In Genesis 6, we learn about an enemy that wants nothing more than to see that image become corrupted. We still feel the effects of this battle today, but there is Hope.

When God spoke to Mary and Joseph He mentions that they were both people of faith and character. They weren't waiting to live faithfully once they heard from God, but living faithfully expecting Him to speak. Are you living a life of faith?

Dallas Willard (a philosopher and scholar) said the world is “Our cultural and social practices, that are under the control of Satan and, thus, opposed to God''. Do you feel this to be true? If not, could it be that you feel more at home within the world than you do with Jesus? This is a tension we should all wrestle with.
In the fight against our flesh, (which scriptures describes as our disorders desires) we will need all the help we can get. The good news is Jesus hasn't left us on our own to win this fight. He's given us everything we need.
When you think about freedom what comes to mind? The ability to do whatever you want whenever you want? Ironically what the world calls freedom the Bible calls enslavement. When we act on our strongest desires apart from our deepest desires we fall victim to what the Bible calls our flesh or our sin nature. This is one of the great enemies of our souls.

The church on fire is great, but that's not God's dream. His dream is for the city to be reborn. So what does it take to see revival in our communities? What must we do to see our city reborn?

Studies show that the average person says about 16,000 words a day. That means we have 16,000 opportunities every day to use one of the most powerful weapons on this planet. Our tongues. This weapon can protect, encourage, empower, lift up, bring life, or... This weapon can hurt, discourage, devalue, tear down, and bring death.
Brennan Manning once said “The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians: who acknowledge Jesus with their lips, walk out the door, and deny Him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable.”

There have been many kingdoms built over the centuries but none of them have ever lasted. Jesus came to build an everlasting kingdom. A kingdom filled with blessing, peace, and abundance, but there will also be a king ruling over this kingdom. Jesus tells the religious leaders of His day a parable that cuts to the heart and reveals whether or not we want Him or just the benefits of His kingdom.
Everyone enjoys a good underdog story. Stories like Cinderella where the main character comes from a very low station but then eventually rises up to rule the kingdom with her prince. But... could it be that we enjoy these stories so much because we view ourselves as the underdog? If we're honest with ourselves, could it be that we want to be the main character of our story and sit in the place of honor? Jesus tells an interesting parable in Luke 14 addressing this issue of pride and what true greatness looks like in the kingdom of God.
Last week we talked about how kingdom citizens risk it all for the one. They are willing to give all of their time, treasure, and talent to see the kingdom of God advance, but if we're honest most people find it hard to let go of their treasure. Jesus had a lot to say about this and He talked a lot about money. He knew it had such a stronghold on people. This week we look at what Jesus has to say about our finances and the principle of tithing.
Have you ever lost something so valuable that you'd do anything to find it? How would you feel once it was found? In Luke's gospel, Jesus tells a parable about a lost sheep that gives us major insight into the Father's heart.

The church in Corinth was experiencing the promise of the Holy Spirit and the spiritual gifts that He gives. The scriptures tell us that it is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Once we were enslaved by sin but now we are free in Christ. This is great news but unfortunately some of the christians in Corinth misunderstood what true freedom looks like. They allowed their understanding of freedom to cause other christians to fall into sin. Today we see a similar thing happening with mantra’s like “speak your truth”, “follow your heart”, or “you be you”. What then does true freedom look like?
Our culture has spun the narrative that sex is the ultimate expression of love and because of this it has hurt many married and single people. We need to regain a biblical framework for what marriage was designed for and understand that being single can be just as much a blessing if not more. This week we look at what the Apostle Paul had to say to the church in Corinth regarding marriage and singleness.
Culture shapes the way we think in so many ways, and not just the simple things in life, but even the big things like how we should handle our money, raise our kids, view life, and sex. In week 3 of our series walking through the book of 1 Corinthians we see that the church in Corinth was struggling with the tension between what culture says vs. what Jesus says about sex and our bodies. Are we allowing culture or God to shape our view of sexuality?
Not unlike the church today people in the church at Corinth were struggling with sin, but instead of being broken over their sin they were boastful about it. The Apostle Paul instructs them to get the sin out of the camp and gives instructions on how they are to hold each other accountable to live lives worthy of the gospel.
When we look at the Church today it can sometimes feel a little discouraging. There's division, social media rants, judgement, nationalism, etc. It would be easy to look back to the early Church with a romantic view as if they always got everything right, but Paul's letter to the church at Corinth doesn't suggest that at all. The church in Corinth was struggling with a lot of messed up things, but the good news is that no person or church is too far gone that Jesus can't redeem. This week we discuss how to fight for unity in the midst of division.
Good relationships are important because God is relational. He desires to be in relationship with us and desires for us to have healthy relationships with other people. We pray this message inspires and equips you to become a healthy person in 2022.
We live in a culture where the motivation for physical health is often vanity. An opportunity to post about yourself on social media, but what does the Bible say about our physical health? This week we discuss the part of our health in which all the others are built upon and that is spiritual health.
As we enter the new year we want to talk about our value of holistic health. We believe that if we will start as individuals to be healthy spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically, then we will eventually have healthy communities, and healthy communities are blessing to our world.
If we're going to see a movement of God that results in planting disciple making churches all over the world then we need you. The healthiest version of you. So let's start this year out pursuing health for the sake of the mission Jesus has called us to.
Ever since the fall of humanity from the Garden of Eden the people of God have we've been waiting for a promise to be fulfilled. The promise of a messiah that would bring hope, salvation, and light in the darkness, but what would his name be? What would He be like?
In Exodus 34 God reveals one last characteristic about Himself, that His name is Jealous. This is not the type of jealously that we would attach to an earthly relationship, but rather it means that God is jealous "for" His Name. He cares deeply about how we represent Him to the world, but if someone were to describe you and I do you think they would use the same type of words that God did when He revealed His Name? Are we carrying or profaning the Name?
When we get to the part of God's Name that reveals His grace towards forgiving sin we are beyond thankful... but what about that weird part that says he revisits the sins of the parents on their children? That doesn't sound like Jesus? So what gives? Does the Bible say what it says or are we missing something? In our culture "love" feels cheap. The divorce rate is overwhelming and we as a culture are constantly trying to redefine what love even is... but when we look to the scriptures we find that God defines Himself as love, and that this word is never separated from faithfulness. After Jonah spreads the message of God's judgement over Nineveh the people begin to repent. God is moved by their repentance and He chooses to show mercy rather than judgement. This infuriates Jonah and also reveals the sin of his own heart. We don't get to choose who should receive God's grace and who shouldn't. We pray you're inspired by this message as our Jonah series comes to a close.
Jonah receives a second chance from God and begins to proclaim His message of judgement to Nineveh. We worship the God of second chances! The gospel is such good news! No matter how far you've run, or fallen, God offers you a second chance, but before we can receive His grace we have to be willing to repent.
In chapter 2 of the book of Jonah we find Jonah at his lowest point. After running from God's presence he hits rock bottom. How could anything good come from hitting rock bottom? If you find yourself at rock bottom today we want you to know there is hope. Sometimes God does His best work when we don't have anywhere to turn but to Him.
Jonah's story is amazing! A lot of people have heard about the prophet who got swallowed up by a giant fish, but why did Jonah end up in there in the first place? Why was he running from what God asked him to do? As we begin this brand new series it's our prayer that we would be able to apply the truth of God's word into our lives.
The bible has roughly 500 verses about prayer, 500 verses about faith, and around 2000 verses about money and possessions. Jesus talked about money in 16 of His 38 parables. That's almost half of His sermons! Why would Jesus talk so much about this...?
The bible teaches us that how we manage and spend our money reveals where our priorities, loyalties, and affections are. It directly dictates many of the blessings you will (or will not) experience in life. We believe the Lord wants us to become a first fruits church.

If we're honest, we typically go to prayer when we're desperate. We use it as a last resort instead of it being our only hope. We want Creekside to be a church that is devoted to prayer.

Our series walking through the Psalms comes to a close as we end on Psalm 148. In this psalm we are commanded to "praise the Lord". So often we forget to simply praise the Lord, and when we begin to focus on other things over Him our problems begin to appear larger than they actually are. We need to shift our gaze to the One on the throne. When this happens our problems and the worries of this world start to look smaller and smaller.

Many Christians have heard the gospel and believed in it for a future hope but not as a present reality. This has lead to many people not experiencing the transforming power of the gospel from day to day. Psalm 89 is one of the most bizarre chapters in the entire bible. It peels back the veil and gives us a look at what’s happening behind the scenes in the unseen realm. It opens up a flood gate of questions and to understand what’s happening we have to dig deep.

Most of us don’t like to be held accountable for anything and we’re even uncomfortable receiving critiques. We think that our struggle with sin isn’t really doing that much harm, but if unchecked it can completely take us out of the game. After Pentecost the movement of Christianity began to spread like wild fire. All of a sudden ordinary, uneducated men are speaking with authority and performing miracles. They’re getting threats from the religious leaders and facing persecution if they continue to speak about Jesus. What made them so bold, and what is it that gives us authority today? Is it our race, gender, education, etc…? We pray you’ll be inspired and equipped as we continue in week 2 of our series on The Acts of the Apostles.
After the ascension of Christ the apostles are told to wait for the promised Holy Spirit. At Pentecost the Holy Spirit does come just as Jesus promised and empowers the apostles and early church to expand the Jesus movement. Timid followers are all of a sudden filled with boldness as they begin to preach the gospel, and many receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. In this new series we will be looking at the acts of the apostles and how God moved through the early church.

God is working behind the scenes in the midst of all the chaos and is preparing a great harvest. Jesus see's the outcast, the hurting and the lost and has compassion on them. He tells us to pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers to reap the harvest. How will we respond? Will we pray? Will we go and be an answer to that prayer?
Our world feels very chaotic right now, and it felt like an appropriate time to address the topic of fear and anxiety. We are praying that we can walk with you in this and that you don't feel alone.

Jesus remained on the Earth for 40 days after His resurrection, and over the past two weeks we started looking at Jesus’ encounter with his disciples. Today we’re going to look at the 3rd time Jesus appeared to Peter and His disciples. What did Jesus find His closest friends doing whenever He appeared to them? Radical disciples sold out for the mission of building the kingdom? Or perhaps something else?
We're in a crazy season right now with the COVID-19 pandemic. Fears are high and as we're observing a quarantine there might be some people that would rather stay in isolation out of fear once things get back to normal. Over the next couple of weeks we’re going to walk through Jesus’ encounter with people after he rose from the dead leading up to His ascension into heaven and to the coming of the Holy Spirit.

When Jesus encounters the Samaritan woman at the well He tells us what true worship is. He shows us what the kingdom of God looks like by tearing down all racial, social, and gender walls. If we want to be like Jesus and see the kingdom of God then we will need to start building relationships with people who don't think, look, or act like us. We pray that you are encouraged and challenged to take another step in your faith journey as you listen to this message.
