We were never meant to live life alone. We have not only been created to live in community with others but also to being connected to our heavenly father. How do we make that connection? Well Jesus taught us to pray in a way that brings intimacy and a reliance on Him. It’s the key to discovering the Good Life. The sermon on the mount has been described as the greatest collection of teaching Jesus ever gave and describes the life we were all created to live. The problem is Jesus calls it ‘narrow’ and in our culture narrow always seems to imply something negative. This series will ground us all in the truth of what goodness really is, where we can get it and how we can live it out. For those exploring faith it gives a window through which to see who Jesus really is and the life he invites us all to lead. For those who have been travelling on this road for many months or years it’s timely reminders of the life we are invited to live - the Good Life. Relationships are the source of our greatest joy and also our greatest pain. So how can we live the good life and get relationships right? Jesus highlights five areas that we all struggle with that leads to breakdown in relationships, but he offers us a way out, a better way – but it is the narrow way and it’s hard to navigate. Things are created on purpose for a purpose and so are we. The tension is, 'does my life really matter? Do I matter? Do I have a contribution to make to this world?' Jesus invites us onto the narrow road to discover and live the good life, which is not only a blessed life but is a purposeful life. You were created on purpose for purpose. What does it really mean to live the good life? We all strive for it, but defining what "good" actually is can be tough. And when it comes to finding the right path, things get even more confusing. Some things are worth everything and once found, they reframe what truly matters. Jesus speaks of a treasure so valuable that it demands a wholehearted response. It invites us to ask: what are we looking for in life and are willing to give up everything in order to gain it?Summer shorts: There is nothing quite like British summer time; beer gardens are full, parks are packed with picnics and flowers in bloom and the beaches are swarming with families. It’s the perfect season to break out your shorts, head to the beach or pool, and finally dive into that book you've been meaning to read. There’s something timeless about getting lost in a good story, and no one told them better than Jesus. It’s true that good stories have always gripped people’s imagination and Jesus was the master at telling a great story. They were always short and to the point and more often than not, raised questions about life, about ourselves, about faith. So for our summer series this year, we’re going to be diving into five short stories of Jesus and explore how speak to us now.The Forge Community Church is a church in Suffolk with a mission to help people find and follow Jesus. Each of us has been entrusted with something: skills, opportunities, influence. Some invest it boldly while others bury it in fear or neglect. This week we see how Jesus challenges us to consider what we’re doing with what we’ve been given, and what’s at stake if we don’t.Summer shorts: There is nothing quite like British summer time; beer gardens are full, parks are packed with picnics and flowers in bloom and the beaches are swarming with families. Mistakes are inevitable, at work, on the road, or in our closest relationships. What matters most is how we respond when we realise we’ve gone off course. In the story of the prodigal son, we see a powerful picture of failure, return, and the kind of grace that meets us on the way back.Summer shorts: There is nothing quite like British summer time; beer gardens are full, parks are packed with picnics and flowers in bloom and the beaches are swarming with families. When we play games within our relationships, no one wins. But there’s one game we can play where everyone wins.We have a natural tendency to be critical toward others because we want others to change for our benefit. So how does Jesus actually address this idea of being critical and judging others? Is it ever healthy? Jesus is known for many things – and one of them is doing the opposite of what people expect. Often, he turns situations, expectations and outcomes on their head. As we approach this Easter season, let’s discover together how Jesus traded places in unexpected ways to bring us a new understanding of faith. If someone can predict his death and resurrection and pull it off, I’m just going to go with whatever he says. No one can come back from the dead - it’s the ultimate one way street. Unless you’re Jesus, and your power is so much greater than the grave. That final barrier still couldn’t stop him accomplishing his mission, and in doing that, he showed us that nothing is beyond his power. The Forge Community Church is a church in Suffolk with a mission to help people find and follow Jesus. As we approach this Easter season, let’s discover together how Jesus traded places in unexpected ways to bring us a new understanding of faith. We all have our pride, and it can be seen as a good thing - a measure of a healthy self-esteem. But Jesus challenged that idea when he humbled himself and washed the feet of his disciples. He upset the order we take for granted, and showed us a radically different side of power. The Forge Community Church is a church in Suffolk with a mission to help people find and follow Jesus. When we’ve received kindness or generosity, it can feel a bit uncomfortable, as we want to return the favour, but sometimes that’s not possible. Luckily, the answer to this is to pay it forward! We know what belonging means for us, and we have an opportunity to welcome and encourage others to the church. There are all kinds of ways to do this – saying hello to someone we don’t know, introducing people to others and helping them connect into groups or serving teams. Offering connection outside of church is important too and organising a coffee and chat is a nice job to have on a to do list!We all want to belong somewhere, don’t we. But what is belonging? And why does it matter? Perhaps it’s easier to understand when we think about how not belonging feels: Phoebe Stone, the children’s author once said “Not belonging is a terrible feeling. It feels awkward and it hurts, as if you were wearing someone else’s shoes”.We all want to feel known and valued, and that feels even more important in church.“Church is not an organisation you join; it’s a family where you belong, a home where you’re loved, and a hospital where you find healing” says Nicky Gumbel, but it’s not always a process that’s straightforward and easy. So in this series, we’re going to break it down into stages and look at some of the elements that contribute to a true sense of belonging. The Forge Community Church is a church in Suffolk with a mission to help people find and follow Jesus. Did you know that the Co-op and John Lewis give their staff shares in the company’s profits - they know that there is a feeling of investment that comes, along with a sense of responsibility for the organisation.Financial contribution can feel like a big ask, but it is another way of saying that we are committed to a community, a mission and a vision and that we feel we own part of that. For a church community to exist, it relies on the generosity of its people to help make the mission and vision a reality. Are you playing your part?We all want to belong somewhere, don’t we. But what is belonging? And why does it matter? Being part of a team is a great feeling – whether it’s singing in a choir, or working with others to deliver a service. There’s something about helping out that is good for our self esteem. But more than that, being part of a team brings a sense of loyalty and togetherness that can’t be found just through socialising and conversation. Putting our shoulders to the wheel makes us feel like contributors as well as consumers and it’s a whole different level of belonging. We all want to belong somewhere, don’t we. But what is belonging? And why does it matter? Perhaps it’s easier to understand when we think about how not belonging feels: Phoebe Stone, the children’s author once said “Not belonging is a terrible feeling. One of the things we hear time and time again from people who have joined or visited the church is the importance of welcome. A welcome that says ‘come as you are – we’re glad you’re here’ and doesn’t impose a list of requirements before you can enter. Being confident is an important thing … in everyday life we want to be confident in our opinions, confident in the people around us, and confident in ourselves … and why not? Being confident can be a source of assurance and security … something that all of us want. Yet when it comes to the subject of eternity and where we’ll spend it … many of us don’t have confidence … in this final instalment of our series we’re going to explore the invitation Jesus gives us to come to Him and to be fully confident in His salvation - that He is enough! Our lives are full of headlines, whether it’s mainstream news media, social media or every day conversation with others … and if we’re honest it’s often what we want too … rather than studying every minute detail of every story, every situation and every viewpoint we want something succinct, time efficient and to the point - that moves us towards truth and understanding. Yet the headlines that each of us see each and every day often fall short of this desire and instead seek to manipulate or sensationalise a story, to sell it to us or to draw us in and click the link. But if we’re honest we know that sometimes a headline simply isn’t enough …. not if you want to truly grasp the full picture. See headlines can be misleading, misguided, deceptive or more often than not — just not deep enough to bring us to a place of understanding … In this series we’re going to dispense with the headlines … and search out the true foundations of faith by getting back to basics. The Forge Community Church is a church in Suffolk with a mission to help people find and follow Jesus. In the words of a famous old worship song “Everyone needs forgiveness, the kindness of a saviour - let mercy fall on me” … it’s a beautiful line … yet in Jesus’ day, just as in ours … there are some who recognised their need for a saviour and some who didn’t … this week we’re going to explore some of the words of Jesus through the lens of those who knew they needed His forgiveness, kindness and mercy. Forrest Gump famously described life as a box of chocolates — “you never knew what you’re gonna get!” … and whilst I wouldn’t dare argue with the great Tom Hanks, I prefer to think of life as a cocktail … a real mixture. Unfortunately as members of the human family we are never a mixture of purely good things … instead we tend to be a mixture of both beauty and disaster! Whether it’s kindness and selfishness, generosity and greed, encouragement and criticism … we are all a truly mixed bag! We are all just like the world we live in … a mixture of both beauty and disaster! … Yet whilst all of us can point to disaster in ourselves … in God’s story there is beauty on the horizon. How would you sum up the story of the Bible in a sentence? It’s a weird thought in some ways … to try and pack thousands of years of history, personalities, stories and people’s real lives into a short sentence … but if you were pushed … what would you say? Maybe you’d say something like, ‘follow the rules and God will like you!’ Maybe you’d say ‘the world went wrong and God was pretty annoyed!’ It’s understandable that we might take ideas like these and throw them into a headline … however trying to unpack the story of the Bible without involving the word ‘faith’ isn’t going to get us very far …Our lives are full of headlines, whether it’s mainstream news media, social media or every day conversation with others … and if we’re honest it’s often what we want too … rather than studying every minute detail of every story, every situation and every viewpoint we want something succinct, time efficient and to the point - that moves us towards truth and understanding. There's a helpful mantra that says "If you want to change your life, change your habits." This is true, but if you want to change your habits and make them stick, something has to change within us – in our heart. This series explores those habits that go beyond attending slimming world and stopping smoking. It's all about the habits of a healthy heart.Habits are great but they can be hard to maintain. The desire to quit the diet, quit meeting your counsellor, quit church can be so strong. Why? Because habits are about the long game, the big picture, not short term wins. Learning to be faithful in the little things is a big thing! Little things practised over time make a big difference. It's repeating a habit that makes a long-term change. So I guess the question is, "How do I keep going with good habits over the long term?" Maybe the answer lies with practising the habit of being steadfast…The Forge Community Church is a church in Suffolk with a mission to help people find and follow Jesus. It's all about the habits of a healthy heart.“Nobody’s perfect.” We hear this all the time and usually it’s said to explain away a mistake or a wilful act that has hurt someone else. It’s true, isn’t it; we all do things wrong! But how we feel about that determines our response. We can be sorry that we got caught or sorry that we did it. We can try and brush it away or excuse/justify ourselves or we can take responsibility for what we’ve done and apologise. Regret and guilt can be like a crippling disease and we don’t have to live this way. How do we deal with the stuff we wish we’d never done? Well, there’s a habit we can practise that brings freedom, healing, hope and peace – it’s called the habit of Godly sorrow…The Forge Community Church is a church in Suffolk with a mission to help people find and follow Jesus. Often we can pretend to be giving someone our full attention but actually our mind is somewhere completely different and we don’t hear a thing! There’s a term for this – it’s called anxious striving! It’s when our mind won’t stop! But how can we stop our thoughts from racing and causing stress? What can we do that slows down our thought patterns and helps us to be present and at peace? The answer is simple to acknowledge but much harder to practice. And found in creating space and practicing the habit of solitude…The Forge Community Church is a church in Suffolk with a mission to help people find and follow Jesus. a lot of people believe in some sort of heaven, and most believe that good people go there. Sounds nice… but how good is good enough to get us in?
“Over all these, put on love. Its your basic, all purpose garment.”One size fits all doesn’t always work, but in this case, Paul says it absolutely does! But what does it look like to do the loving thing when that might not mean making someone happy? Does loving people mean saying yes to everything? We will look at some of the many ways love can be expressed, and the difference love can make to situations and lives. "It is unwise to be too sure of one's own wisdom. It is healthy to be reminded that the strongest might weaken and the wisest might err." Humility is the enemy of ego. But true humility comes from security in our own identity coupled with an ability to not under estimate or overestimate ourselves. How do we balance a healthy self-esteem with a humble attitude? How can cloth ourselves in humility each day?We love that you are able to be part of our community from the comfort of your own home. C.S Lewis said: “Everyone thinks forgiveness is a lovely idea, until they have something to forgive…”. In order to clothe ourselves in forgiveness, we have to commit ourselves to the process of letting go and giving God the responsibility for judging the situation. But how do we do that when we are hurt? When the person who hurt us isn’t even asking for forgiveness, or is still hurting us? Can we forgive and still establish boundaries? Understanding what forgiveness is and isn’t, is key to expressing it the way Jesus intended. The Forge Community Church is a church in Suffolk with a mission to help people find and follow Jesus. 'A part of kindness consists of loving people more than they deserve.'What does it mean to clothe ourselves in kindness? Extravagant kindness and compassion were features of Jesus' approach to people, especially the marginalised. How do we cultivate a heart like God's - full of compassion towards the 'least'? If God asks us to clothe ourselves with compassion and kindness, it might not only be life changing for those we show it to but also for us, too!The Forge Community Church is a church in Suffolk with a mission to help people find and follow Jesus. Have you ever been part of a joint effort? Enjoyed the feeling of that corporate success and shared the joy of an experience with others? God calls us to be in community, but more than that, he calls us to engage in a shared purpose; to be united as followers of Jesus. He knows we can thrive if, together, we commit ourselves to his cause in the form of the local church, with the services and programmes being the vehicle for reaching others. So are we willing to unite and risk an emotional, financial and time-costly journey with GodWhen we allow God to work in us, we begin to see the world the way he sees it, and we start to view others through the lens of his love. God's passion is to draw people to him, and perhaps more than anything else, this is the mission of the church. To share the good news that there is hope and love in abundance – enough to share with everyone. We don't keep our blessings to ourselves, we overflow with enthusiasm, compassion and our desire to make the church a place of welcome.WE HELP PEOPLE FIND & FOLLOW JESUS.We know that life is tough; now more than ever. Have you ever met someone who changed your life? If we’re lucky, we might meet more than one inspirational person and take meaningful things from each encounter. In this series, ALIVE, we retell the stories of some of the people who met Jesus himself after his resurrection and whose lives were transformed by him. And through these people, we learn that those encounters are still relevant for our lives today. Need hope? Need peace? Come and hear, or watch online, and discover how to find them!Sadly, we can sometimes settle for less than a life that is fully fulfilled, or our purpose can be misguided. When Jesus met with Saul on the road to Damascus, he was given three things that are still part of what it means for us to have a sense of purpose today: a transformed motivation, an eternal perspective and a unique pathway. A life with a true sense of purpose is offered by Jesus when he joins his mission with ours: go and make disciples. WE HELP PEOPLE FIND & FOLLOW JESUS.We know that life is tough; now more than ever. True peace was at the heart of God’s original creation, and God has a plan for us to enjoy peace now. Having made stunning promises of peace during his life, Jesus then secured peace for all time though his death and resurrection. Peace freed the disciples from guilt, fear and anxiety, before they were filled with a positive vision of the future, and in the same way, God’s peace empowers us to follow our purpose.Have you ever met someone who changed your life? Have you ever felt not good enough, overlooked or too ordinary to make a difference? Maybe it’s time to think again. Peter was living that life when along came Jesus and called him to something he was not qualified for and didn’t think he could measure up to. Jesus saw potential in him that he didn’t see in himself. Maybe he does with us, too. Some people defy expectations: Greta Thunberg, Nelson Mandela, the Jamaican bobsleigh team(!) They achieved more than anyone believed they could. Peter was one of those people – an unknown, impulsive fisherman. Against all odds, he left a legacy that we can still learn from. As unlikely as it must have seemed to those who knew him, he was the one who walked on water, saw Jesus for who he was and came back from public failure to be a leading figure in the early church. If God could use him, can he also raise us aboveWE HELP PEOPLE FIND & FOLLOW JESUS.We know that life is tough; now more than ever. At every stage of physical and spiritual growth, we engage in activities that contribute to our development. Some activities are catalysts; significant predictors for forwards movement in our journey of life and faith. So what are the four key catalysts that move us from being ‘stuck’ in life to taking a next step?We all get stuck in a rut. Personally, spiritually. The only way out is to break with what we know and act without a guarantee - as scary as that can be.Humans are hard-wired for security, safety and survival, which makes opting for the comfort-zone the obvious choice! But when life presents us with uncertainty, adversity, or opportunity, we’ve got to embrace some risk if we want the rewards. When we aim for what we haven’t yet grasped, even when it means letting go of what we have, we open our lives up to new possibilities, greater purpose, and a story worth telling. It’s this that made the story of the earliest followers of Jesus worth telling.Jesus presented his followers with this paradox: “Whoever finds their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.” Anybody who dares to risk what they have in order to prioritise what God has for them, finds themselves facing more tough choices than ever before...but along with the tough choices, they start living life on a new level. That’s what brave moves are all about.Brave moves have a greater than average impact on us and they have a greater than average impact on the world. They result in stories worth telling and legacies worth leaving.WE HELP PEOPLE FIND & FOLLOW JESUS.We know that life is tough; now more than ever. At every stage of physical and spiritual growth, we engage in activities that contribute to our development. Some activities are catalysts; significant predictors for forwards movement in our journey of life and faith. So what are the four key catalysts that move us from being ‘stuck’ in life to taking a next step? Our day-to-day consists of habits stacked on top of one another. Some habits build us up, and others chip away at us.Our attention is often monopolised by addictive habits and behaviours that don’t truly reflect what we value most. With effort and practice, we can master habits for the better. When we commit to practising habits that are aligned with what matters most to us, we establish patterns in our lives that don’t just shape our days, but shape our character. Better habits mean we’re better equipped to face life with our souls intact, our mind sharp, and our body strong.Jesus leads the way to new habits that get us in sync with who God calls us to be. He knew it mattered, because ‘you can’t put new wine into old wineskins.’ In other words, you can’t embrace a new way of being whilst trying to live out of your old rhythms, routines, practices and behaviours. You need new habits for a new life.WE HELP PEOPLE FIND & FOLLOW JESUS.We know that life is tough; now more than ever. Some activities are catalysts; significant predictors for forwards movement in our journey of life and faith. So what are the four key catalysts that move us from being ‘stuck’ in life to taking a next step? Our mindset sets the trend for our actions, our words, our feelings, and our beliefs - for better or for worse. We encounter reasons every day to think that life is too hard, we are too weak, the world is too broken, and purpose is too hard to come by. But all these mindsets plunge our lives into a kind of darkness. When we commit to asking questions, to learning and listening, to wondering about meaning, to pursuing truth, and to seeking God, it’s like opening the blinds in our minds and letting light flood in.Jesus had an insight into the human mind that modern psychology is still catching up with. He taught people how to have a mind trained on God, and how the mindset of faith could transform a person’s life from the inside out.WE HELP PEOPLE FIND & FOLLOW JESUS.We know that life is tough; now more than ever. Some activities are catalysts; significant predictors for forwards movement in our journey of life and faith. So what are the four key catalysts that move us from being ‘stuck’ in life to taking a next step?We all share a common challenge: building real relationships when so much of who we are lies below the surface. The temptation is there for all of us to wear masks, to put on a show, to isolate ourselves, to keep a safe distance or to push those who don’t ‘get us’ away. (We see this evidenced in so many of our interactions!) But none of this solves the heart of the issue - we have a deep need to be fully known and fully loved.Jesus put a solution to our deepest need on the table - the possibility of having a real relationship with God, that leads back to real relationships with others. This isn’t a vague connection to an unknown being, but a personal Father who already fully knows us, loves us, can save and strengthen us, and who we can know and love right back.WE HELP PEOPLE FIND & FOLLOW JESUS.We know that life is tough; now more than ever. Whether we’re religious or not, we all have at least one thing in common: We’ve all made some messes in our lives. You’ve said things like, “I messed that up,” “I made a mess of that,” or, “My life is a mess.” We’ve all been in, are in, or are only one decision away from a mess. But there’s something you need to know: there’s a powerful connection between your messes and your relationship with God.Whether it’s a financial mess, a friendship or relational mess, a mess at work or a mess at home, our mess can be what gives us all common ground and is also the mess that brought God near….The messes in our lives can be, well . . . messy. And if we’re not careful, they can become even messier. So, how do we make choices that lead us forward instead of backward?WE HELP PEOPLE FIND & FOLLOW JESUS.

Rates rise, bills soar and incomes get squeezed. UK food prices rise by the fastest rate on record as the cost of living crisis bites. Between April 2020 and September 2021, the number of people reporting difficulty paying bills doubled to 15 million. It's a crisis, right? What can the church do? What can we do?

Anticipation is woven into the very fabric of the Christmas story. The anticipation of a baby, a marriage, a destination, a saviour. It almost seems un-coincidental that anticipation is part of our current Christmas traditions too. Waiting for father Christmas, presents, family to arrive and the EastEnders Christmas special! What are the things you are anticipating this next year? A new job, finishing school, getting married, having a baby? We find ourselves longing for the big event. But Christmas reminds us that God is at work and with us even in the struggle and beauty of the waiting.
We all go through seasons of uncertainty; those times can fill our every waking moment with fear. It’s like we’re wandering around in a wasteland, and we don’t know how or when we will every find our way back.
What should we do when we don’t know where to go or what step to take next? Is there anyone out there who can help?

Whether you love them or avoid them at all costs, ghost stories are powerful (even if we are old enough to know better thank to check the closet or under the bed)! But there is a Holy Ghost who does exist; fully God and all powerful.
He works through Christians all over the planet yet sadly, Christians often seek to be known more for their talent and intellect rather than any supernatural power. Could it be that we have forgotten the one who distinguishes us from every other worldview on the planet? It’s time to tell some ghost stories.

We all monitor our behaviour to some degree. This keeps us out of trouble and helps us in our personal and professional relationships. But Jesus invites his followers to take monitoring a step further.

It’s Summer! And it’s time for a road trip. Summer playlists, open roads, gorgeous
scenery and late night deep chats about the mysteries of the universe!
There is something about an open road and loyal friends that bring about the
best conversations. This was certainly true for Jesus. When spending time out on
the road with his friends traveling from town to town, Jesus turned moments of
getting from A to B in to life changing lessons.

Are you searching for hope? Are you praying for the impossible to happen?

There are somethings that people just seem to talk about all the time, but at the same time no one can fully agree on. But these taboos aren’t just things that people care about, God cares too. In fact God has some principles he has shared with his people in how we can engage with these issues in order to bring about a culture shift.
Last year we launched our first ever culture shift series. It was one of the most popular series we have run with some feedback saying that it was their favourite series ever. So we thought we would do it again!
How many times in the past year have we uttered something like this… “I just can’t wait for things to get back to normal!” And yet the old normal has gone and we venture into a new season. With this being the first Sunday that we’re able to meet face to face for over 15 months, we just want to welcome you and enjoy being together, whether this is your first time ever joining us, or your first time back. Welcome to the Return
Switch on the TV or open up the internet and you will probably be hard pressed to find anything that people aren’t prepared to talk about. Money, sex, drugs, celebrity gossip or politics. People love to talk about near enough anything. Everything, except for perhaps one thing. Death. Official statistics show that 100% of people born will one-day die, and yet almost nobody likes to think about ‘it’ or even what happens next. In this series we invite you to join us as we mention what is normally ‘unmentionable’.

In 1999 Chanel 4 first broadcasted a show that would follow individuals in their journey to design and construct the home of their dreams. Here at The Forge we are doing just that; changing how we operate and redesigning what we call ‘home’. The Church was one of God’s grand designs, but it was more than just a 5-bedroom mansion made from glass situated on the Suffolk coast, it was way better than that. It was messy, full and alive. In our vision series we go through what this looks like for us going forward.
WE HELP PEOPLE FIND & FOLLOW JESUS.
We know that life is tough; now more than ever. We’re sure you’ve got questions and uncertainties, but we believe Jesus can make difference, that faith can bring hope; even in these times and that the Church should be light in the darkness.
We’re embracing this new all-digital landscape and can’t wait to interact with you online. We will ensure you receive a warm welcome whether you tune in every Sunday, or if church is new/unfamiliar territory for you.
We love that you are able to be part of our community from the comfort of your own home. Feel free to interact through the week on social media, or stream LIVE online on Sunday morning!

In this series, we look at why and we tell you how.

If you have been to or tuned into the Forge before you may have heard something along the lines of: “We want to create church communities that unchurched people love to be part of in order that people find and follow Jesus.” Perhaps you (or someone you know) has been curious as to why that’s a big deal or how that’s really supposed to change your life? In this series, we look at why and we tell you how.

Most personal problems can’t be fixed. We can cope, overcome, or move on, but the past is the past. The good news is you can learn to avoid what can be avoided so there’s less to cope with later. You just need The Beginner’s Guide to Predicting Your Future.

With kids ‘jingle belling’ and everyone telling you ‘be of good cheer’... It really is the best time of the year... isn’t it??
After a year like 2020 it’s very difficult to find any ‘wonderful’ times. On top of that we’ve got the Christmas shopping to organise, the cooking, the decorating and finding somewhere for everyone to sleep! By the time the annual festivities begin we're usually already done with the whole thing...
But behind all the ‘busy’ is something to really celebrate. Something that truly makes this time of year the most wonderful. A moment in history that defines Christmas as the ‘happiest season of all’. In this two week series, we’re going to sit back, take a breath, and remind ourselves about this wonderful moment, when the greatest story ever told began.

Guardrails: They’re everywhere, whether we need them to be or not.
The thing about guardrails is that we don’t need them… until we do. When we do need one, it can be the difference between life and death.
Maybe your greatest regret could have been avoided if you had established boundaries that kept you safe. In this five week series, we will be inspired and challenged to establish some personal guardrails.

There are certain topics that we seem unable to agree upon; subjects that are debated at length in the media, across our country and around the globe. These monolithic themes require real expertise to tackle, so we’re doing just that. We’ve going to be interviewing the experts, getting under the skin of these talking points & examining the topic with an authority on the matter.
We'll also be consulting THE authority on all matters, seeing what God has to say on these huge issues. We believe God has something to say, that he has shared these thoughts with His people, so we’re going to dive into His viewpoint. Together we’re going to explore and engage with these issues, together we’re going to bring about a Culture Shift.

So you hear about this man called Jesus and think you’re going to give this faith thing a go.The first few weeks are pretty good; but then life happens… you hit some highs, but you also hit plenty of lows.
Slowly the energy of our faith gets sucked out by our daily routine and endless list of tasks. So how can we find Jesus in the day to day? How can faith help solve some of life’s everyday challenges?

We all have a favourite hero. Stories of justice, sacrifice, redemption, strength and character. Overcoming darkness and bringing hope to a broken planet. These stories are embedded deep within us, Why? Because they all point to a greater story and a greater hero. Whilst you can scroll through a list of the most recent block buster super heroes on Wikipedia, almost 2,000 years there was a document with a different set of ancient heroes, all who really lived out some of the narratives that we all know and love today.

MONEY TALKS
We’ve all heard the phrase that 'money makes the world go round’ but do your finances bring you fear or freedom?
We all have a lot to say about money; it’s often the driving force behind news headlines and our everyday chats. But what if it wasn’t us doing the talking but it was our wallet? If your money could talk, what would it say about you?

Jesus loved connecting with people that were nothing like Him, he was as comfortable interacting with the least and the lost as He was with the high and mighty. Jesus started a gathering which became an uprising and grew into the early church – and it has been expanding ever since. However, church in the UK has been on a steady path of decline in recent years. The Church stopped looking out & started only looking in… If we are going to be better together, something has to change.
Wouldn’t life just be easier if everyone was more like you? It can definitely feel like that sometime, but it’s our differences that (when properly connected) can build something better. There is power in collaboration and community. So how do we get past our differences? How can we do community with ‘those people’ who really aren’t like us? Together we’re going to explore….
Donuts and Coffee, Sea & Sand, Whiskey & Cigars, Ant & Dec, Mac & Cheese. Some things are just better… together!
And so are you. Right at the beginning of time after God spun the world into motion there was one thing and one thing only that was short of perfect goodness. Loneliness. During this series we seek to understand how we can discover better, do better and be better together!
Jesus shared a lot of wisdom in the Bible. Lately, He also seems to say a lot of other stuff on social media, too. But where’s the line between what He actually told us, and the things Jesus never said?
This series cuts through the noise of the world’s perceptions of Jesus and what it means to follow Him. It seeks to debunk popular misconceptions and bring clear truth on who Jesus is, and His relevance in our lives today.

In a brave new world of selfies, photos of your dinner, and #ThrowbackThursdays - how are we supposed to deal with the darker side of our online selves? When everything is airbrushed, photoshopped and filtered, how do we know what's genuine? Even in the reality of everyday life, we have the habit to omit the areas we'd rather forget and exaggerate the qualities we're proud of. It's time to find some authenticity, time to be vulnerable, It's time to be honest, to admit that life isn't always perfect, and know that that's OK! In this series we're going to challenge ourselves to consider where we really find our value. Time to walk away from the 'brand' we've built, time to get real, time to go 'No Filter'.

We are living through life changing times right now.... We all know there are moments in life that change everything. You can’t do anything about it, and you don’t even know what it all means... but it changes life as we know it. Over 2000 years ago something happened that was both brutal and beautiful, pain filled and perfect, ruthless and redemptive... and (even more than what we're going though currently with the Coronoavirus pandemic) it changed EVERYTHING... forever.

We decided to set aside our planned message on 'The Circlemaker' to instead address the Coronavirus issue which has impacted our church and has brought most of the country to a standstill. What should our response be? How can we as Christians best react? Steve Fenning helps us unpick our next best step...

Most of us, regardless of any faith have moments where we pray to God Whether it’s desperately calling out in the midst of a health scare, pleading for a last minute goal for your football team or desperately calling on God for a favour in a busy car park, prayer is something that we resort to at some point in our lives. But does it really work? What are the magic words? How do we know anyone is listening? What do we do when what happens really isn’t what we prayed for? In March we’ll be exploring prayer and it’s potential power in our lives....

We all know that one person who believes that they’ve seen a UFO or that the Loch Ness Monster could be real. We brush aside most of these myths, but what about the myths around church? What are the ’truths’ we’ve bought into that are in need of some myth-busting? You do not want to miss this series! In these four videos we’re digging into some of the myths that have been created around church to separate fact from fiction and learn the truth.

We understand that life often feels frantic. Our diaries are busy and free time seems non- existent! We know that lack of margin increases our stress and shortens our tempers. Moreover, it can distract us from the most important things in our lives. Breathing room is the space between the pace we are currently running at, and our absolute limits. In January YOU are invited to come along as we create margin and set aside time to focus, because we recognise that life is better with breathing room.

The lights flickering on the tree…. The shiny bright wrapping paper beneath it… The festive jumpers that only come out once a year… The table laden with decorations and all kinds of tasty food that hasn’t been cooked in a microwave for a change… Everywhere we look at this time of year, we see the colours of Christmas. Bing is dreaming of WHITE one; Rudolph obviously prefers RED; The elves always go GREEN and Elvis had a BLUE, BLUE one. But Christmas colour are you dreaming of this season? So how can that little baby in that ancient manger bring colour to your Christmas this year, and maybe even your very life itself?
We're sorry for the audio issues with this recording, we hope to have resolved the issue, thanks for listening

“Come quick, I have something amazing to show you! Come and see.”
If you’ve ever heard these words, your pulse will quicken, your expectation will rise; something exciting is about to unfold. The story of Jesus is full of these moments… From a great catch of fish, to healings, miracles and even an empty grave!
In fact, right at the very beginning of Jesus’ story is one of the greatest ‘come and see’ moments of all time… shepherds and kings invited to visit a baby in a manger.
We are building expectation for what’s to come. The invitation hasn’t changed; come and see, come and discover someone who will change your world forever, come and experience great expectations.
Ever found yourself thinking; “There’s got to be more to life than this?” We all have a common desire for an uncommon life but change requires action – do we have the courage to actually step out? Escaping mediocrity to push ourselves to go that bit further, to go beyond, to push out into deeper waters. Or do we prefer the relative safety of being tied to the harbour wall? Maybe it’s time for us to cut the ropes that hold us back… to push out to the deep… and find the cure for our common life.
Ever considered what the original plan for church was? What the blueprint was that it was built from? Have we stuck to the guide or wandered off track? How can we make a difference in building a church that helps people find & follow Jesus? In November at Forge Debenham we will be rolling up our sleeves and considering what part we can play, what skills we’ve been given and what our passions are. It might take some work, it might take a change in mindset, but we’re excited to get back to the blueprint…

You know those four letter words that slip out in a moment of frustration? You hit your thumb with the hammer, your team lose in the last minute of the game, you drop your iPhone in the toilet. Well... we say they ‘slip out’...in reality they come from a deeper place.
So maybe we should dive deeper and explore some other four letter words. When these words reside in you, they can change the way you move through life.
We might think the things that we say don’t really matter, but if we’re honest, they point to what is going on inside. So we thought it might be a good idea to focus on a few positive four letter words, words that could change the way we react and relate to each other, even the way we see our lives...

Songs have the power to stir our souls, brighten our day and even bring us closer to God. There is nothing like driving on a warm summer day with the windows wound down and the music turned up. These songs can become the soundtrack to our summer; they say things we wish we could say, they even help us express the joys and the strugglers of our lives.
In August we are flicking through the back-catalogue and playing some golden oldies; ancient tunes that made it onto God’s playlist – the top 150 of their day. You wont find it on iTunes or Spotify but right in the middle of your Bible. They’re called the Psalms, a collection of emotive songs filled with everything from anger & doubt to sadness & joy.
It’s time to sample the Psalms and download the ultimate summer playlist into our lives.

THE COMPARISON TRAP
The temptation to compare is ever present. As you chat with a friend, visit a supermarket, or check in on social media we are drawn to measure our lives against the life of others.
We know ‘the grass isn’t greener’, but we’re desperate to ‘keep up with Jonses’ and whether you come out on top or come up lacking, there is simply no win in comparison. You’ll never be content on the inside if you’re always looking at what other people have on the outside.
Over the next three weeks, let’s talk about how to avoid The Comparison Trap…

Everyone loves a good story; funny ones or sad ones, long ones or short ones. Hosts use them to entertain guests at a dinner party, a funny story to lighten the mood; parents find one to comfort a hurt child with a story; friends deploy them to counsel a desperate neighbour with a story from their own life experience.
Over 2000 years ago Jesus told stories that we are still telling today. Whether you grew up in the church or not – chances are you’ve heard either parts of these stories, renditions of these stories or maybe you know them by heart.
These stories are more than just ancient anecdotes or religious truisms for the people of Jesus day. They were actually windows into some of life’s biggest mysteries about God. Though these stories were told long ago, they are uncannily relevant and applicable to our lives today. So get yourself comfortable and let’s begin…
Disturbed by a BBC documentary Duncan Dyason has committed the last 25 years of his life to the street kids of Latin America. As founder and director of ‘Street Kids Direct’ he works tirelessly in Guatemala with a small team of staff and volunteers doing outreach on the streets, mentoring high risk young people, operating a centre which is a safe place for the children to come and training and campaigning for the rights of these children.
Street Kids Direct is now one of the most successful charities working with street children in Guatemala and can accredited with the reduction in children on the streets of Central America. What Duncan has seen and the stories he can tell can be harrowing but we can’t ignore the desperation and the poverty that children in this world live in.
Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight, and guard against corruption from the godless world. James 1:27 (the Message)

Easter Sunday 2019. Those three days of Easter are central to Christian belief, and we aren’t talking about bunnies or chocolate eggs. What God did to win your heart is much more important, and it’s all about Jesus. Capture the drama and significance of those days with us on Sundays.
