This is not a one hour recording of a recent Friday Forum.  I am deviating from the norm of our Friday Forums. I wanted to share a story with you, my listeners.  This is a 15 minute story and advocacy for What Really Matters.

At some point during Covid-19 we will all face a moment of truth. I faced mine on Nov. 4, 2020, right after the Presidential elections.  I share my story of dealing with Covid.  I learned, instead of "disappearing" when the election was over, I was struggling with how to handle Covid in my family.  I learned what we do matters. I heard Anderson Cooper (CNN) talk about this topic too.

Please listen to my story.  Join me in promoting individual actions we can take to help one another.  What we do, does matter.

Who would have believed the chaos a small virus could wreck upon the entire world. I had planned to start the All About Next Steps podcast during more sane times. Now, surrounded by the upheaval Covid-19 is creating in both the small business world and the world of college advising, I felt the time to start was NOW. Hence, the birth of the All About Your Next Steps Covid-19 Style podcast. The forums have proven very popular over the past 3 weeks. We wanted to get these posted as podcasts to make the content easy for you to access.

We have received many emails about how helpful they have found the Friday Forums.

-Joyce wrote: "First, I want to thank you for the commitment you show to students and to our peer IECs through the Friday Forums, which you created. I LOVE how down-to-earth and supportive they are . . . and informational!",

-Bailie told us, "Cyndy, there is so much that is being thrown at us on a daily basis, I find it overwhelming trying to keep up, so I very much appreciate the summaries of the salient weekly topics. So instead of “Tuesdays with Morrie”, I look forward to “Fridays with Cyndy and Jamie”!!!

Each Friday Forum will be published as a podcast the following Monday. If you like what you hear, subscribe to the podcast so you don't miss any episodes. Join us for the live Friday Forum by registering on our website, www.cyndymcdonald.com. View the forums on my youtube channel at youtube.com/cyndymcdonald, and of course, listen to the recordings here on the podcast.

Welcome to All About Your Next Steps podcast. I am so excited to be launching this podcast, even at this time in history. I am an entrepreneur and an educator. When I started my first technology company, it was tough to prove myself. People found it hard to look past my being a woman and see me as an entrepreneur. Later, I founded and led two more businesses and a non-profit organization. Now, more than ever, I have a passion for supporting educators and others, who against all odds, have started their own businesses. If you are a small business owner or thinking about launching a small business in education or another field, then this podcast is for you. If you have a passion for education, especially for college planning, then this podcast is for you. If you like learning from others who have their own business, or work in education and who are shaping the world around us, then this podcast is for you. I selected the title All About Your Next Steps to depict moving forward, progressing, growing. If you have a growth mindset, then you will benefit from this podcast. Right now the podcast is centered on Covid-19. My goal is to provide support and information to guide you through the Next Steps, Covid-19 Style!

In an interview with Robin Goldberg, Chief Experience Officer with Minerva, Cyndy McDonald explores how Minerva “offers an innovative undergraduate program” combining world travel with a challenging, inquisitive approach to learning. How does this serve students better? Educationally, how does it compare to traditional undergraduate experiences? How do prospective employers view this innovative path? Join us to hear answers to these questions and more.  Recorded in 2016, yet, this year, in the midst of the corona virus pandemic, the information from Robin about Minerva's education approach is more relevant that ever before.
