But it's just now that schools are broadening their curriculums to share stories that we may not have heard as children.

The deep rich history of Central and South America means there are a plethora of cultures and identities that fall under the generic umbrella of 'Hispanic/Latino/Latinx'. Each has unique cultural elements, perspectives, and experiences. In the U.S., we are normally all lumped together, but the truth is we are very diverse. Join us on our journey to highlight various Latino identities, what their experiences have been like, and how we as Latinos in the U.S. can help honor our diversity while still combating racism, classism, and colorism, which is still very real throughout the Americas.

In part one we are joined by Jenny Bernand & Carlos Soriano who both identity as Dominican and Afro-Latino. We talk about their experiences as an Afro-Latino in the U.S., and how we can help each other remove stigmas and biases so that we can continue to progress.
