It's super scary when you have no idea what you're getting yourself into. As new creators and entrepreneurs, we're mostly figuring things out as we go. There's always self-doubt, imposter syndrome, and a sense of overwhelm. Yet, that's also the beauty of the process, where we learn and growth through the journey. In this episode, I spoke with @sindhumohan.co on how it feels like when we're just starting out with ZERO knowledge.

Growth is everything.
Growth keeps you motivated and gives you a sense of fulfillment.
Similarly, when others witness your growth, they will respect you more as well!
In this episode, I talk about why you should prioritise your growth, and how you can lay out your growth plans!
In light of CNY and the amount of snacks we consume during this festive season, I wanted to touch on the topic of habits and the concept of persistence.
I believe that we should be aiming for persistence instead of perfection.
Slip-ups are inevitable, and there will definitely be times where we are unable to keep by our routines, habits etc. What matters is to have the mindset to persist, instead of expecting perfection and falling into a spiral when you fall short.
Start building your personal brand today!
Laura is testament to the effectiveness of personal branding, where she managed to leverage on personal branding on LinkedIn to grow her business to a team of 6 in less than a year, having started out as a freelancer.
Having started at a young age, Laura talked about the relevance of age, how people can start building their personal brand and the importance of believing in yourself.
Laura brought across many important factors which I believe youths should take note of, so be sure to tune in to her episode!

Ever since I started the JourneyNorth podcast, I've witness the power of communities and specifically, the benefits of the knowledge transfer.
In this episode, I speak about how you can put yourself in a position to not only be inspired by your community, but also inspire others.
Yes, I had bad days. I'm not going to lie and say that I wake up with fire in my belly EVERY SINGLE DAY.
Yet, on days which weren't as good, I felt guilty.
Guilty of not working as hard, guilty of not being as focused, guilty over how I was feeling guilty...
In this episode, I talk about the unhealthy obsession over the hustle culture which I think needs to be addressed, as well as how I managed to slowly overcome these feelings.
Life isn't always about material pursuits.
It's about your loved ones.
The guest for this episode, Leza, had been through bankruptcy and emerged stronger to become the CEO of a beauty tech company that operates in more than 10 countries today.
Having been through bankruptcy and now enjoying the success that she has, one of Leza's biggest realisations is that life is not all about your material gains.
She also talked about how she built up a personal brand for herself that allowed her to gain access to many opportunities and even investors.
Leza's story is truly inspirational and packed with many valuable insights, so be sure to tune in to hear more about it.

When I first started solo episodes, I found it difficult to "free-flow" the recording. I over prepped for them and they ended up way too scripted for my liking.
In this episode, I shared about why it was difficult for me to free-flow the recordings at the beginning, and how I managed to learn to do so more fluently along the way.
You are your own biggest enemy.
If you are able to overcome your own fears, you can truly be unstoppable.
In this episode, I talk about fear and the importance of perspectives. More often than not, many fears are self-imposed beliefs which are holding us back...
Do you have something you feel passionate for?
Why not start a community around it?
In this episode, I speak to Andee, who co-founded Kampung Collective, a Community for Community Builders across Asia. We spoke about how he felt like a "misfit" growing up in the Singapore system and how that actually played out in his subsequent roles. Andee also spoke about the power of communities and why more people should put their voices out there.
I picked up many interesting perspectives from Andee, notably his story about how he was a "misfit", yet it actually served him well in the end.
Andee is an inspiring example of how there are always alternative pathways to success, and the fact that we all just need to trust ourselves a little bit more.

Rest is underrated. These days, hustle is seemingly the hype, with entrepreneurs and content creators all propagating the "hustle culture". However, not getting enough rest is counterproductive, because you end up zoning out or dozing off during the day.
In this episode, I touch on the importance of rest and some tips for how you can keep your energy levels high.
To be honest, I haven't always been the best communicator. Even now I'm still learning how to improve my communication skills. However, I'm definitely much better than before, and in this episode, I share some of the tips and techniques I picked up from my friends and through my personal experience.
Establishing connections is way more important than simply expanding your network.
Just hear Sam talk about how his personal branding and connections have helped him in his career. Sam also brought up a very interesting perspective regarding the search for your own vehicle to spread your own message. It was a truly enjoyable episode that I took away many insights from.

"Personal growth is like a drug, once you get a taste of it, you find it hard to kick the habit".
Ever since I started on my personal development journey, the growth I've witnessed in myself has continued to propel me to the next level. In this episode, I share more about the concept of personal growth and some questions you can ask yourself to get started!
Sometimes, things happen to us that are totally out of control. Since life is so unpredictable, why don't we just flow along with it?
Who knows what might happen!!
Have you ever stopped yourself from doing what you truly wanted, simply because you were fearful of judgement or failure?
If so, you would want to tune in to this episode, where I speak with Janice, who broke through her fears to create the life she truly wanted.
Despite doing well in her corporate role, Janice felt that it wasn't as fulfilling as it could be. With that realisation, she decided to quit her 9-5 and became an entrepreneur. Today, she works with millennial entrepreneurs to brand and build their businesses digitally.
We spoke about how her homeschooling experience growing up taught her the importance of ownership and how that translated into her work ethic. Janice provided great insights into the perspective of fear and how we can put our problems into perspective as well.
It was heartening to see how Janice is such an action-taker even at her young age. She shows us that your attitude is what matters, and that if you truly want something and work hard for it, things will work out in the end.

As an introvert, I wasn't always comfortable being on social media and putting myself out there. It took a conscious effort and a shift in my perspectives that I started being more active on various social platforms.
In this episode, I share about the process of how I managed to overcome my fear of social media.
Are you an aspiring entrepreneur?
What are you looking to get out of entrepreneurship?
Are you ready to hop on a journey full of uncertainties?
From my conversations with many entrepreneurs, the dark side of entrepreneurship is not talked about enough. While entrepreneurship is seen as an attractive career nowadays, people don't realise that there are many trade-offs.
Tune in to hear me share about what I've picked up from various entrepreneurs, as well as my own personal experiences.
Afraid of failing?

In this episode, we have Steven, who is the Managing Director of ForwardLeap Training Lab. Steven has a wide range of expertise from wealth management, personal finance, to entrepreneurship. He is also a startup mentor at Temasek and Republic polytechnic.
I had the pleasure to invite him onto the podcast to talk more about youth entrepreneurship and what he would advise for students who are exploring their career options.
He brought across many interesting perspectives when it comes to failure and the concept of entrepreneurship.

Stressed over the need to secure a full-time job?
Can't decide what to pursue as a career?
Well, guess what, you're not alone! Many people face the same issue (myself included).
The thing is, people need to realise that we have a very long runway ahead of us. There is no rush to get it all figured out the moment you start your career.
Listen in as I share my perspective on this topic.
Have you ever committed to your new year's resolutions, just to forget all about it and end up not hitting them?
I share about how you can set yourself up for success and achieve the goals you set out for yourself. There's a 5-step process you can go through, that was covered in the book - Motivation Myth, by Jeff Haden.
Start your new year right by establishing realistic and ambitious resolutions and coming up with a plan to see it through!
Have you ever thought of an idea but failed to pursue it?
Well, guess what, our guest for this episode, Soon Kon, acted on every single one of his ideas.
In university alone, he started 5 startups, ranging across sponsorship, marketing, and Augmented Reality (AR).
We discussed the key insights he took away from his journey thus far, his perspectives on entrepreneurship, and what he thinks people can do to get started.
His positive mindset was apparent from the get-go, and it's truly mind-blowing to think that he has started 5 startups in university alone.
It's a really interesting journey, and I hope you enjoy hearing about some of his really interesting ideas.

Sometimes, all we need to do is ask. If you never ask, you never know.
Often times, we feel afraid to reach out to others and ask for a favour because we're afraid that something bad might happen. From my personal experiences, this can't be further away from the truth.
People are generally very willing to share their experiences and assistance, all you have to do is muster up the courage to ask for it.
Try asking, and you will get what I mean.
Mentors are a huge part of many successful people, but how do you actually find yourself a mentor?
In this special Christmas episode, I share some tips from Daniel about how you can kickstart your journey to finding a mentor.
Stay tuned to find out more!
Looking to maximise your potential as a youth?
In this episode, we have Joe, who is the Head of REACH Youth Service, where they conduct various programmes and services for at-risk youths.
Having been impacted by his own mentors during his growing up years, Joe became very passionate about helping youths become the best versions of themselves.
We talked about how he rebuilds the confidence of these youths and help them achieve various milestones in their lives. Joe brought up many insightful processes regarding goal formulation and self-awareness as well.
Some of these techniques have been applied to help youths who have had to overcome really tough circumstances, so I believe there is much to learn from Joe's sharing.

Are you trapped in your own world?
Or are you clouded by your own perceptions and failing to appreciate the things and people around you?
In this #MondayWithMarcus episode, I talk about the importance of having the right perspectives and not staying trapped in your own little bubble. The world has so much to offer if we're willing to step out and embrace it.
What are your thoughts on this?
In the last episode, Daniel talked about 5 key leadership principles out of the 30 they uncovered. Today, I dive into another 3 interesting principles that caught my eye and how it can apply to you. Check out all of the 30 principles at www.firsttimeleadership.com.
Are you a leader?
Do you think you are a good leader?
Or are you clueless about the notion of leadership?
In this episode, we have Daniel, a partner at First Time Leadership, where he helps First Time Leaders to lead successfully by enabling them to shift from an employee mentality to a leader mindset.
Despite working in the corporate world for many years, Daniel had struggled to understand the meaning of leadership and how he could become a good leader when he first had to take on a leadership position. That sparked his journey to uncover the concept of leadership.
Daniel brought across many interesting perspectives which challenged my own views about leadership. I thoroughly enjoyed this episode and I believe everyone will benefit from hearing Daniel talk about leadership in a very clear and relatable way.
