On social media, I still get asked, "Are you that Laura Engram from Fox News?"... Not quite. This podcast is a new project from the woman behind former YouTube personality JWTgirl and The Mouthful Blog.
Talk about upcoming book release and the struggles in completing it. I also go into why I felt it was important to finish and release within the next year.

Continuing the reading of my book, from where I left off at Chapter 4. Now that the book is complete and nearing release, in print this will appear as Chapter 5. It covers early memories with my sister and lays the groundwork for events that will happen later in the narrative.

I was only tentatively planning to continue this year, and unfortunately I felt I had no choice but to be the most cliché thing of the moment. This is a raw, unedited perspective on the purposes, mistakes, and early triumphs of Dave Chappelle's recent comedy spree. It rambles in places, and there are some misspoken words in places, but the episode is left unedited for the sake of authenticity.
And now that I've made this episode and I am coming close to concluding the writing of my book, I intend to continue with this season. It's been almost a year since my last episode, I will be sharing chapters 4 and 5 of my book in upcoming episodes as well as continuing to add some leveled thoughts as a trans woman, mother, artist, and student of science.

I've been gone a while due to surgery, but I'm back. In this episode I talk shortly about the actress recently let go by Disney. Then I discuss the great raging debate in and surrounding the transgender community, as always. Biological reality. I attempt to discuss transgender acceptance from the most traditionalist stance and move outward. Finally, I decide to share an intimate detail about myself that is difficult for me to.

I continue reading my book, Growing Up As One of Jehovah's Transsexuals. In the third chapter, I go on a thoughtful road trip with my best friend, struggling to come to terms conflicting feelings, a world collapsing around me, and still having new experiences. My hope is that this book shed light on the difficult choices and ingrained flaws fundamentalists are faced with and learn after years in such cults, and how it is possible to grow.

Sadly, the northwest of the United States is on fire. Lives have been lost and towns torched. The air quality is hazardous, particularly in my home city of Portland. Over a million acres have burned and the size and damage of the fires are the unprecedented results of climate change. Although some say its apocalyptic and godly retribution. With my family unable to escape the hazardous air and concerned for our safety, I ask about how we should respond to the deniers.
I want to thank Fred Eder of Fred's Front Porch and Studio Stargazer for re-envisioning and producing the the audio and effects in this episode. This was a special project he took on out of pure desire, and I am excited to include it as an update to my original podcast. Commenting on the Christian groups reaching out to defend Kyle Rittenhouse. The situation is shrouded in controversy, so I ask, what does it really mean to be a "good citizen". What is creates terror, and what is love? It seems like we have forgotten those values, and I'd like to talk a little about that. And the budding signs of Christian terrorism. Can we no longer count on Christianity to be the moral beacon of our culture?

I've been giving a lot of thought to how we are all affected by social distancing. It's not easy to stay centered and rational while isolated, in the middle of a global pandemic and with our current political and economic climate. It can take a toll on our relationships.
