Making the decision to honor your truth is a vital step towards living a well-rounded lifestyle. Often, we find ourselves swayed by popular opinions, influenced by the expectations of others, or trapped in a victim mindset, blaming our upbringing or past for our struggles. However, dwelling in victimhood only perpetuates pain, hampers growth, and damages relationships.

It's crucial to recognize that God's will for us is not suffering or discontentment, but rather blessings and fulfillment. When we operate outside of God's will, we invite unnecessary challenges into our lives. However, by aligning ourselves with God and embracing our truth, we open ourselves to His guidance and protection.

Choosing to honor our truth means confronting our challenges head-on and seeking wisdom from those who walk in alignment with God. Through wisdom, we can learn from the experiences of others and avoid unnecessary obstacles. Just as a child learns from their mother's warning about a hot stove, we too can choose to heed the wisdom around us and operate in greatness.

In essence, embracing our truth is a transformative journey towards living authentically, experiencing God's blessings, and achieving our full potential. Let us choose wisdom over experience and trust in God's plan for our lives. When we honor our truth, we walk in alignment with God's will and pave the way for a life filled with purpose and abundance.

"Conversation Series" with Tam Lawrence

Consider this: while we immerse ourselves in this digital world, unseen forces manipulate our realities. Toxic chemicals find their way into our foods, selectively affecting communities and ultimately serving the interests of Big Pharma. The irony is palpable - we weren't even given a choice to play this game. So, what democracy are we discussing when those in power seem oblivious to the struggles of their subjects, lost in a game they don't even realize they're playing?

In recent months, I've undergone a profound journey of self-discovery, particularly in my interactions with others. One significant lesson I've learned is the importance of discernment in cultivating meaningful relationships. While every individual holds inherent value, it's crucial to recognize when certain connections may not align with our highest good.

In navigating these dynamics, I've found empowerment in letting go of relationships that operate on a lower frequency. This decision is not a reflection of others' worth but rather an acknowledgment of differing priorities and intentions. By releasing attachments to individuals who do not prioritize our well-being, we create space for healthier, more fulfilling connections to flourish.

It's essential to approach each relationship with discernment and mindfulness, assessing whether it contributes positively to our growth and happiness. This introspective practice allows us to cultivate a supportive network of individuals who align with our values and aspirations.

Ultimately, prioritizing self-care and boundary-setting enables us to foster relationships that nurture our personal development and overall well-being. By consciously choosing the company we keep, we empower ourselves to create a life filled with genuine connections and mutual respect.

In the glimmering world of celebrity, where stars once shone brightly, a darker narrative unfolds. The lives of revered figures like Oprah, Tyler Perry, TD Jakes, Sean Puffy Combs, Will Smith, and others are now casting shadows on the very pedestals they once occupied. As this dynasty crumbles before our eyes, the collateral damage extends beyond the limelight to the hearts of the children born into these tumultuous unions.

It's disheartening to witness the unraveling of these once-admired personalities. Yet, amidst the unfolding drama, the deafening silence on the plight of the children becomes a poignant reflection of the societal shifts we are witnessing. As the world becomes increasingly consumed by the sensationalism of celebrity strife, the innocent lives impacted by their parents' choices are left forgotten.

As we scroll through social media, a stark reality emerges — a world that has grown increasingly callous and animalistic. The frenzy to tear apart the lives of those thrust into the spotlight at the slightest misstep raises a crucial question: have we become a society devoid of empathy, compassion, and human decency?

The Bible, often referenced in times of moral reckoning, forewarns of such days. In the last days, it prophesies, there will be turmoil and chaos. Yet, within those sacred verses, a roadmap for humanity's redemption is outlined. In 2 Chronicles 7:14, it is written: "if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

Amidst the madness and chaos, there exists an opportunity for collective introspection and change. Rather than succumbing to the relentless current of judgment and condemnation, we can choose to embrace agape love — a love that transcends conditions and judgments. The call is for unconditioned kindness, mutual respect, and a rekindling of our shared humanity.

This holiday season, as we navigate the turbulence of a world in disarray, it's crucial to pose a collective question: "When will the madness end?" The answer lies not only in societal shifts but in the individual choices we make daily. By humbling ourselves, seeking a higher purpose, and turning away from the destructive paths we tread, we have the power to invoke change.

Let this not be a call to shame but a plea to awaken the dormant embers of humanity within each of us. It's time to say, "Enough is Enough" and actively contribute to a world where kindness prevails over cruelty, understanding over judgment, and love over disdain. The narrative can change, and it begins with the collective will of humanity to heal, forgive, and rebuild the bonds that connect us all.

In a world of judgment and cancel culture, the question of whether it’s okay to let people into your personal space looms large. However, after watching Tyler Perry’s Lifetime story, “Maxine Baby,” my perspective on sharing personal stories shifted somewhat. Tyler shared his story once he had reached the major leagues of success. But what if he was still climbing the ladder, living in a small apartment with an average car and no studio? Would people still be as enamored by his journey?

Tyler’s story is nothing short of profound, and experiencing his life through Amazon’s special was an incredibly inspirational moment that resonated with the world. It left no room for doubting oneself. Tyler’s gifts, his ability to overcome life’s obstacles, and that infectious smile take you to a place that screams, “I can and I will.”

However, we all have stories to tell, and from a publicist’s perspective, it’s best to achieve your greatest accomplishments before baring your soul on social media or any stage. The reason people embraced Tyler’s story is that he had achieved greatness authentically. He had worked the circuit, built his audience, and owned his brand. The circuit, though often dreaded, is where the real work happens. It can’t be replaced by digital currency or sitting behind a computer screen, posting your aspirations daily. Real success comes from hitting the road, kissing babies, and shaking hands, meeting your audience or target market where they are.

Tyler Perry’s brand is traditional and untouched by viral trends. It’s a brand that will go down in history as a testament to a man’s ability to overcome by any means necessary. He not only achieved greatness but also retained ownership of his creative intellectual properties, royalties, and more. In an industry where only 0.1% of African Americans own the rights to their creative work, Tyler’s story is a shining example of success against the odds.

So, as we reflect on Tyler’s journey, we’re reminded that it’s not about the likes, dislikes, shares, or reposts on social media that define a brand. It’s about the human connection, the ability to touch your audience’s hearts with a genuine approach, rather than a mere tap of the keyboard. Tyler’s story reinforces that, no matter your skin tone or gender, God is always in control.

Have you heard of TTP?

TTP can cause life-threatening complications if not treated right away.

Without treatment, TTP can cause frequent blood clots that cause complications such as:

  • a stroke
  • brain damage
  • coma
  • problems with your kidneys
  • reduced blood flow to your digestive system
  • reduced blood flow to your heart, which may cause a heart attack
  • Seizures

Acquired rather than genetic occurs more often in African Americans than in any other racial group. It is more often in women.

Some medications and treatments, such as chemotherapy, can also raise your risk.

To be a person with albinism is not who you are; you are a human being with an immune-compromising illness called albinism.

How would you cope with knowing that your nationality or ethnic group does not accept you and that others are not a part of your born race?

Where do you find comfort and a community where you can be yourself without judgment?

List as one Black female gives you a small glimpse into her world of hurt and isolation.

Gut health, poop, food, and mental illness complications are discussed with possible means of assistance.

**Research shows that some of the significant stressors impacting your health are divorce, moving, and the death of a friend or loved one. Let’s look at two of these that seem to be most commonly combined, divorce and moving. Have you experienced this?

The exciting thing about this is we all may appear on the outside to be handling it differently. For example, some people get depressed and seem to be frozen in time. Others appear to be in a fighting mode, and still, others make strategic plans.**

**Although on the outside, we all look different, on the inside, we are all experiencing increased inflammation, stress on our gut, and increased chances of disease due to chronic inflammation. We sometimes say we have butterflies in our stomachs, cannot eat, not sleep well, gain weight, and even have heart attacks. This is all gut-related. Ninety percent of all diseases start in the gut. Your gut is the foundation for your immune system. It is your immune system. This is why when you are stressed, need to focus, exercise, or hang out with friends and family; it is essential to take care of your gut health. Your gut is your entire digestive system starting at one end with your mouth and ending with the exit portal. Saliva starts digesting what you put in your mouth even before chewing. Ding ding ding, did you get the connection? Your gut is your immune system. Your gut starts with your mouth. Your digestion begins with the saliva. So your entire digestive system and process is your gut. Now you know the importance of chewing correctly as well.

Do you have any idea of what signs to look for that might indicate how healthy or unhealthy your gut is at any given time?**

The best way to do this is to track and record the date and times you eat, what you ate, how it made you feel when you pooped, and how your poop looked. Yes, turn around and look into the bowl to see what your poop looks like. Since we do not have X-ray vision like Superman to see what’s going on inside, our poop lets us know how we digest our food and can even give indications of various diseases.

AS MANY AS 300 PEOPLE ARE BELIEVED TO HAVE DIED THAT DAY BUT THE EXACT NUMBER REMAINS UNCLEAR. NOT ONE PERSON WAS EVER CHARGED WITH THE CRIME. SCOTT ELLSWORTH CHRONICLES THE STORY OF THE MASSACRE IN HIS LATEST BOOK, THE GROUND-BASED BRAKING, AND AMERICAN CITY, AND ITS SEARCH FOR JUSTICE. HE ALSO DETAILS HOW THE MASSACRE WAS PURPOSELY COVERED UP FOR DECADES. PROFESSOR ELLSWORTH JOINS US NOW HE’S A LECTURER AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN’S DEPARTMENT OF AFRO-AMERICAN AND AFRICAN STUDIES.

PROFESSOR, THANK YOU SO MUCH FO JOINING US.

LET’S STEP BACK 100 YEARS, IF YOU WILL, GIVE US A GLIMPSE INTO LIFE IN TULSA, OKLAHOMA, FOR A BLACK PERSON IN 1921. YOU RECENTLY SAID THIS WAS A PLACE WHERE AFRICAN-AMERICANS LEAVING THE MISSISSIPPI DELTA, ARKANSAS AND TENNESSEE, CAME TO GET THE BOOT OF WHITE SUPREMACY OFF THEIR THROATS, SO CAN YOU ELABORATE ON THAT? >> SURE, GREENWOOD, AS THE DISTRICT WAS CALLED, WAS JUST AN ASTONISHING PLACE, IT WAS A HOME TO ABOUT 10,000 AFRICAN- AMERICANS, WITH MORE PEOPLE ARRIVING EVERY DAY IN GREENWOOD, THERE WERE TWO NEWSPAPERS, THERE WERE TWO MOVIE THEATERS, ONE SAT 1000 PEOPLE, THE OTHER, 750.

THERE WERE MORE THAN 30 Restaurants, SERVING EVERYTHING FROM YOU KNOW, A SANDWICH OR A BOWL OF CHILI, TO YOU KNOW, FOUR COURSE MEALS WITH STEAKS AND CHOPS, AND ALL THE TRIMMINGS, THERE WERE MORE THAN 30 GROCERY STORES AND MEAT MARKETS, A DOZEN CHURCHES, MORE THAN A DOZEN SURGEONS AND PHYSICIANS, AFRICAN-AMERICAN SURGEONS AND PHYSICIANS HAVE THEIR OFFICES IN GREENWOOD, THERE WERE BLACK ATTORNEYS, REAL ESTATE AGENTS, DENTISTS, THERE WAS A HOSPITAL, PUBLIC LIBRARY BRANCH, A Post office, THIS WAS AN INCREDIBLY VIBRANT COMMUNITY, AND IT WAS A COMMUNITY FOR YOU KNOW, A NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHERE THE AMERICAN DREAM WAS REALLY WORKING FOR AFRICAN-AMERICANS.

AND SO, SCOTT, YOUR 1982 BOOK, DEATH IN A PROMISED LAND HELPED BRING THIS TRAGEDY TO LIFE. HOW AND WHEN DID YOU FIRST REALIZE THAT SOMETHING TERRIBLE HAPPENED IN 1921. AND WHY DID IT TAKE SO LONG FOR THIS TO COME TO LIGHT, WERE THERE PEOPLEWHO TRIED TO STOP YOU FROM PUBLISHING WHAT YOU HAD DISCOVERED? >> WELL, I LEARNED ABOUT THIS AS A KID, I WAS BORN AND RAISED IN TULSA, AND EVEN AS A 10 AND 11 -YEAR-OLD, I WOULD Listen STORIES OF OLDER ADULTS, THEY WOULD TALK ABOUT WHAT WE CALLED THE RACE RIDE, BUT WHENEVER YOU WENT INTO THE ROOM, YOU COULDN’T LEARN MUCH ABOUT IT, IT WASN’T UNTIL REALLY I WAS A COLLEGE STUDENT IN THE 1970 S, THAT I STARTED TO DO WORK ON IT. I PERSONALLY WAS NEVER Genuinely Threatened BUT BOY, THAT WASN’T THE CASE FOR PEOPLE BEFORE ME, IN THE 1940 S, AS LATE AS THE 1970 S, THEY WERE RESEARCHERS WHOSE LIVES WERE THREATENED, WHOSE CAREERS WERE THREATENED, FOR WANTING TO LOOK INTO THIS.

AND, THE REASON QUITE FRANKLY, IS THAT, FOR NEARLY HALF A CENTURY, IN THE WHITE COMMUNITY, THE STORY OF THE MASSACRE WAS ACTIVELY COVERED UP, OFFICIAL RECORDS WERE STOLEN AND DESTROYED.

Entertainment Editor: Kailah Lee
Her Kind of Black Women: Actress Bria S. Henderson

By: Kailah Lee

Despite your preconceived notions, Black women are not monoliths. She’s unique and diverse but most people see her as the media’s archetype. She’s over-sexualized, angry, and unsophisticated, and if her features are too Black, she’s typecast and underappreciated.

Too many sisters have fought the battle to be seen authentically and ABC’s The Good Doctor, and FX’s Mrs. America’s Co-Star Bria S. Henderson knows this fight all too well.

“…As a dark skin black woman, as a woman of size, I’ve always had to fight to be seen in spaces I wanted to be in,” Henderson said in Exposure Magazine Interview.

How often do we see the non-ambiguous Black women shine—the dark-skin Aunt Viv’s, the Issa Rae’s, and the Viola Davis’? Dark-brown sisters with class, realistic figures, and natural hair exist and the world needs more of this representation.

Young Black girls need to see themselves properly because perception is reality and “Our perceptions influence how we focus on, process, remember, interpret, understand, synthesize, decide about, and act on reality,” Jim Taylor, Ph.D., wrote in Psychology Today.

Henderson emphasizes this importance by saying, “I want chunky dark skin girls to watch tv and be proud to see themselves in her,” because she was that little girl searching for diversity and inclusion.

And through time Henderson bloomed--now bringing nuance to her work. However, her journey was nonlinear and damn hard. She Graduated from HBCU Spellman College and went on to receive her MFA from The University of Washington, but this is where reality set in. Attending a PWI meant her Black was now the elephant in the room.

“I felt like Dorthey in a sense… I wasn’t home anymore, HBCU’s--they nurture us…we’re being birthed and molded and crafted into free-thinking people…” so once “you leave a place like that… you have to exercise the tools and the morals they give you,” said Henderson.

It was a slap in the face to leave an environment that emphasized her worth as a Black woman just to enter a place where opportunity was handed to less deserving white counterparts.

Darker Black women are in this constant battle to be treated fairly and exist normally. Thus, the Black women’s fight to get half as what her white counterparts get, shouldn’t be seen with endearment.

“The titles that always get labeled on us as compliments are strong and resilient…and I’m like those aren’t complements, that’s survival…that’s just how we get the bare minimum, Henderson adds “that’s actually an insult-- that’s traumatic--that’s harmful.”

It can only make one wonder “what’s the expiration date for us to fight for the minimum” Henderson laments.

Nevertheless, women like Henderson—high-value women, who break glass ceilings and carry themselves with conviction are how Black women progress.

Henderson is strategic, she picks the battles she’s willing to die on the hill for and lives a life of substance outside of her roles.

It’s not easy being in her position, breaking the norms for Black women “it feels like pressure,” Henderson says, but she sets the stage for more women and young girls to uphold their excellence.

The Black Media Movement is it representing ALL BLACK MEDIA outlets or a collective few? This movement seems to isolate BLACK media outlets by not including ALL BLACK media outlets in the process. I have tried on several occasions to contact those individuals supposedly representing BLACK media outlets in the fight to earn the interest of the government and corporate advertisement budgets (including) BLACK media outlets, yet those BLACK media outlets and BLACK agencies on the forefront are not including ALL BLACK media outlets in the process; this is a problem.

I am not understanding how in the world is it a disadvantage to BLACK media outlets for the government and corporations do not provide interest when those in BLACK media outlets proposing an address of such disparity are creating (a mirroring) problem within BLACK media by not including all BLACK media outlets in the process and/or conversation.
As a BLACK MEDIA outlet with over 8yrs of service publishing content; I'm trying to understand why are {BLACK MEDIA OUTLETS} on the menu of conversation yet not at the table with those who are out her screaming BLACK MEDIA outlets need the support of advertisement dollars from our government and corporations.

BLACK MEDIA CONFERENCE (Founder)
BE IN COLOR MEDIA (fights for {all} media outlets operating at a disadvantage.
Contact TL@RLASSC.COM

The notice has been severed I have no plans on being silent. We need to ask questions whenever {any} party is being represented yet not given an opportunity to be notified as to

  • What is the agenda?
  • How can we as BLACK media outlets be involved?
  • Where do we sign up to be included in the financial consideration being disbursed?
  • How will BLACK media outlets be informed regarding the procurement process?

Welcome Cherisa Allen
Cherisa G. Allen, Motivational Speaker, Transformational Life Coach, and CEO of Do You See What I See, LLC**, is a Master’s degree Social Worker that has been practicing for approximately 30 years. Cherisa realized that the trauma of her molestation silenced her for many years. She begins to tap into her SuperPowers by empowering other women by telling her story and walking with them as they find their voice and begin to live out loud.

Cherisa was once the little girl who was afraid to live out loud. She was worried about what others would think of her once she shared her trauma. She lived self-destructing because she did not understand the power of forgiveness. Cherisa made a choice to walk in her calling, to live and not die, and to let LOVE be the answer. She understands the power of forgiveness, she no longer allows comparison to steal her joy, and she knows her worth.

Cherisa’s clients describe her as “transparent, life-saver, humorous, a healer, a listener, and women that are determined and skilled at what she does”

She is Cherisa, The Activator, and is here to take you from Stagnation to Activation...if you don’t know you better ask somebody! She absolutely loves what she does.

During my interview with Cherisa Allen, I saw a woman who is driven by her ability to step out on faith. As we continued the interview I asked Ms. Allen, “What was the one thing that impacted your life?” She answered, “I felt like I didn’t matter.”

Interview w/Chris J of the legendary Barclays
Season 1 Episode 3
Producers/Hosts: Adriene Hobdy Brandon Bougard Editor: Gabriel Birkby

The Bar-Kays were formed in Memphis, TN, in 1966, growing out of a local group dubbed the Imperials. Modeled on classic Memphis soul instrumental outfits like the Mar-Keys and Booker T. & the MG's, the Bar-Kays originally included guitarist Jimmy King (not the famed bluesman), trumpeter Ben Cauley, organist Ronnie Caldwell, saxophonist Phalon Jones, bassist James Alexander, and drummer Carl Cunningham. Adopting a mutated version of their favorite brand of rum (Bacardi) as their name, the band started playing heavily around Memphis, and eventually caught the attention of Stax/Volt, which signed the sextet in early 1967. With help from house drummer Al Jackson, Jr., the label began grooming the Bar-Kays as a second studio backing group that would spell Booker T. & the MG's on occasion. That spring, the Bar-Kays cut their first single, "Soul Finger," a playful, party-hearty instrumental punctuated by a group of neighborhood children shouting the title. "Soul Finger" reached the pop Top 20 and went all the way to number three on the R&B chart, establishing the Bar-Kays in the public eye (although the follow-up, "Give Everybody Some," barely scraped the R&B Top 40). Producer Allen Jones began to take an interest in the group and became their manager and mentor; even better, Otis Redding chose them as his regular backing band that summer.

The Story that will Change Your Life
Exposure Magazine

At 18 years old, Wendell White lay trapped in the trunk of a car and assumed it would be his last ride. Battered from a beating during a drug deal gone wrong, all he could think about was his 19-month-old son. White prayed. He asked God for forgiveness. He steeled himself to face the consequences of the sinful life he was living. And he wondered in angst, “How in the world did I get here?”

The Devil Thought He Had Me! is White’s raw, compelling story of resilience and survival, and profound testimony to the power of God’s grace and mercy.

“After getting beaten and put into the trunk of a car, I knew then that I wanted to help the youth and adults all over the world to not make the same decisions that I had made,” he reflects.

The Devil Thought He Had Me! is the result of White’s genuine desire to use his own tragic story to connect with and help alter the trajectory of others who have veered off course. Whitecandidly walks readers through his early days in the poverty-stricken Englewood community on Chicago’s South Side, where his mother sold drugs to make ends meet and often left White and his siblings home alone as she worked the streets. He would later follow in his mother’s footsteps until that fateful day when a drug buyer paged him to purchase two and a half ounces of crack cocaine. And everything went wrong.

Before you start sweeping around Kirk Franklin's front door,  folks need to sweep around your own front door. This judgemental society has no right to dig into Kirk's family issue; this little boy who turned on his FATHER should not get so much attention.

Parenting is not an issue; in this case, it's these spoiled rotten children who need to be checked. Kirk Franklin, keep doing you, and you don't need to apologize.

This young man is changing the game - Fame Holiday

Toronto, ON - “Take Me Away” the powerful single and music video by Canadian Rapper Fame Holiday is available now on all platforms. This release follows the Mississauga based rapper’s previous hit singles “Saucy, “Confusing,” “My Thang,” “Finessing” and albums, “Made For This”. “Temporary Love.” Holiday represents O.S.O.T (the other side of Toronto) & he takes that seriously. The talented rapper uses hooks and melodies unique to his hometown upbringing. Influenced by Chris Brown, 50 Cent & Big Sean, Holiday knows what he wants and works hard to produce projects that tell relevant stories. The O.S.O.T. rapper’s commitment has led to his opening for multi-platinum artist Rich Homie Quan and sold-out performances at iconic venues, including Lee’s Palace, The Phoenix Concert Theater & Theater Plaza Montreal, etc. Work ethic and dedication to his craft has earned Holiday music recognition on Flow 93.5 and hundreds of thousand streams on all major music platforms.

“Take Me Away” is personal for the young rapper. Recognized as one of the most influential rappers coming out of Canada today, Holiday decided to use this platform to tell his story. “Take Me Away” was born from generations of people struggling for a voice, for Holiday, not just a headline, but his life. His “Take Me Away” video relates to the struggle, supporting causes and black and minority-owned businesses. With the understanding… “together we are stronger”.

Commenting on the fashion of Joe Biden’s inauguration, Birmingham City University fashion lecturer Laura Arrowsmith, said:

As always Michelle Obama championed emerging American labels and black designers, a true advocate for her country. Wearing a head to toe burgundy ensemble consisting of wide-leg trousers, turtle neck, and long coat, Michelle oozed elegance and compassion in her chosen attire.

“A consistent trend we have seen throughout Biden’s inauguration are the women dressing monochromatically, with some even color coordinating the must-have outfit staple - the face mask.

“Talented poet Amanda Gorman brightened up everyone’s day with not only her poetic words but also her yellow Prada coat and red bejeweled face mask which was no doubt the most interesting and glamourous face covering of the day.”

I know at times it's tempting to want to run to the front of the line, to desire to be the first. Honestly, to be the first or be the best you must be willing to put in the work.

People who lack an interest in reading and applying what they've read are less likely to make it [pass go]. Truth be told you're building a straw house and believe me your house of cards will soon fall and lead to failure.
