In the second episode of this 2 part discussion, we are looking at how to improve your skills as a leader by utilizing emotional intelligence. The ability to observe and understand the non-verbal feedback we receive from employees and peers can set you apart in your career.
Non-verbal communication makes up more than 90% of our communication methods. In the first episode of this 2 part discussion, we are looking at emotional intelligence from the perspective of the person being observed. It is critical to being an effective leader to have some ability to understand the importance of and being able to control your non-verbals through emotional intelligence.
How efficiently do you manage your time and that of your team? This week we discuss the importance of delegation for the success of a leader and their teams.
School is starting around the country and for many, the kids are learning at home. The concerns about balancing our own workload and making sure our kids are successful are weighing heavily on many. Whether you have just started a new job because you were laid off or you've been at yours for a while, the pressure to maintain maximum efficiency is higher than ever.
Are you an executive that has been in your current role for less than a year and have concerns about how to balance virtual schooling with making sure you are standing out as a great leader and employee?
With so much of our interactions online these days it is hard to notice some really bad behavior and habits out there. This can be really impactful particularly with so many people looking for jobs and being researched online. In this episode, I'm sharing some of the things I've been seeing and ways to make sure you are putting your best foot forward.
Actions speak louder than words. Sounds a bit like a platitude but it really does ring true in many ways. As leaders, we must remember that our employees are always watching us to better understand how we think, what we want, and how they can meet and exceed our expectations.
As leaders we leverage different skills and wear many hats, one of the most powerful is the ability to embrace and promote change when needed. In this episode we discuss the importance of change management, how to maximize the outcome, and ensure your teams are still feeling supported.
As leaders it can be very challenging to cultivate teams that work well together and are highly successful in what they are assigned to do. We can face difficulties with personalities, varying skillsets or backgrounds, team members scattered over different locations, and the dynamics of multiple seniority levels.
In this episode, we'll walk through three key approaches that leaders can utilize to build the capabilities of their team to maximize their impact as a collective and individually. Whether you are a brand new team leader or you've been leading staff for decades, you can employ these practices in how you interact with your teams.
Successful teams are created with that success in mind and from the very beginning. It is so important to consider who you are adding to your team, their individual contributions, and how they will augment the team attitude.
