Our world has done its best to destroy authentic manhood and strong fatherhood. It might have started about when TVs first came into homes. When Jackie Gleason played Ralph Kramden on the Honeymooners we saw the husbands and father becoming buffoons instead of strong men and it’s has spiraled right up until today. In our country today there are 15 million households without a full-time father caring for his kids. Worse is that 32% of boys don’t have their biological father in the home, that’s 12 million boys with their father to teach them what it means to be a man. On today’s show we’ll talk about what it means to be a real man in our world. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
There is an amazing beauty of a traditional bow being drawn back and releasing an arrow at a target. There is a great lesson in the shooting of bow and arrows. It can be a photo of God often pulling us back and putting pressure on us before releasing us toward the target that He has instore for us. Being drawn back can be painful for us, but when we’ve been released it is freeing and exciting. The further back we’re drawn and the longer we’re held that more powerful and stronger our flight towards what God wants us to hit. There is something about the sight of an arrow release from a bow and watching it arc through the air on its path to a target. Most everyone that has shot arrows from a bow has been drawn in by the beauty and art of archery. For many hunters it is the challenge of archery that draws them in. Our host shot his first bow at about 5 years old and he has never lost the joy of the sight of an arrow in flight. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
The history of archery goes back to the beginning of time. It was first mentioned in the Bible in Genesis, when it mentioned that Ishmael became an archer. With that first mention of archery, 6000 years ago, the story began.Today we will learn about the history of modern day bowhunting in North America. From one man with a passion to shoot bows came a worldwide hunting craze today. Archery gear has evolved from a stick and string to a mechanical wonder today. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
We live in a world today that is far from wise. The lack of wisdom is very evident. The gibberish we hear that passes for wisdom to some contains no real wisdom. On today’s program we will meet and visit with a man that has changed to world in many ways. He’s a man that didn’t have a lot of use for normal school type of learning, but God gave him a desire to create. Then one day he began praying for wisdom and God opened the doors to the things that changed the world of archery and even music. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
There isn’t any of us that hasn’t made a bad decision from time to time in our life. Some of us can look back and see that there were stretches where we made a long series of bad decisions that caused us to freefall into a deep pit. Many people never found their way out of the depth of pit, living their entire lives there.Others didn’t live through the effects of the freefall. Then there are some that grabbed ahold of the hand of God when He reached down to lift them out of the mess, they had gotten themselves in. Today we will meet a man that today is a living testimony of 3 decades of bad decisions. At one point he says, “I was the undisputed king of bad decisions.” To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
Every family has it’s struggles and problems. Some of more than others, but there are occasionally those families that seem to deal with far more than their share. But through the struggles of life God can help us get through them in better shape with better attitudes. On today’s program we will meet a family that has gone through what they call, The Peaceful storm. A storm is a good description, the peaceful part often is hard to grasp. But this family has found a way to allow God, His leading and protection in their lives. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
Many fishermen live their entire life always searching for their one trophy that never gets caught.Hunters are the same and there are even things outside of fishing and hunting that drive people to strive for that one special goal. Sometimes God uses those special things in our lives to draw us closer to Him. On today’s show we will meet a young fireman that had a dream of one day catching a very special fish and it wasn’t until he gave into God’s will that he was able to fulfill his dream. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
On today’s program we will learn a lot about the ways that God supplies for our needs and sometimes for our wants as well. We’ll talk to someone that has spent most of his life helping others to learn biblical financial management. We’ll hear stories of some amazing hunts and how God works through the gifts of finances to bless us and others.God has given all of His children some amazing blessings and we need only to praise Him and enjoy them.To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
As a radio program and podcast, we spend our lives as story tellers. There are times that the best time of the day in fishing and hunting is the time spent around the table, fireplace or campfire telling stories. Many strong long-term friendships are formed at these times and in these places. Country people, I believe are the best story tellers on earth and on today’s program we will spend a morning with two young Alabama boys that can spin a yarn with the best of them as well as bring out the best in the other southern story tellers. There is a special relationship between a father and a son. Often it's a bond that will carry far beyond the death of either one or the other. In our lives we truly don't know how much of an impact we have on our children or others that we have come in contact with. We need to realize that people that we see and talk to on a daily basis are watching us closely to see if our words match our deeds. On today's program we will hear from someone who had a father that had an impact on those around him, far more than he had realized and his life continues to impact others years after he's been gone.To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
All through life all of us take falls. Some are painless, some cause skinned knees, some break bones, some can permanently cripple us and the worst can cause death. While we all fall often, 1 out of three that hunt from a tree stand will fall from those stands over our hunting career. For years most of us climbed into trees without a thought of falling. We climbed and sat at the edge of disaster and did nothing about it. On this weeks program we will meet with two brothers that were given a vision that changed not only their lives, but it has changed and saved countless lives in the process. We’ll hear stories from those that were saved from certain disaster and lived to tell about it.To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
someone once said, Don’t be afraid to give up the good to go for the great. Jonathan Ive, a senior vice president of Apple Incorporated, modified the line of thinking in his famous quote, good is the enemy of great. The quote was used as the first sentence of the first chapter of the New York Times best-selling book Good to Great by Jim Collins.Today’s guest exemplifies all of these thoughts and sayings. Not many hunters can say they've passed up 150 inch whitetails with their bow, hoping that they will make it through another season as well as grow bigger, if they do make it. But he did and he learned in the process that sometimes our sacrifices pay off and occasionally they fulfill our biggest dreamsTo support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
We all at times wonder what God is up to in our lives. God attempts to show us things and somehow we can't see what it is He wants us to see. When we keep our hearts open to His leading we can be led and it will change our lives. On today's program we will hear how God moved through a life of abundance young man that had lost his way, he had walked away from the path that God had laid out for him. Then one day, God gave him vision, not for his own benefit but for those with a much bigger need and for their families. Now years later he has made a big difference in the lives of so many families and he has been blessed in return.Listen closely as our host, Dean Hulce, brings out the story of a calling that not only changed the life of the one being called, but also of hundreds of others along the way. Let's join Dean now on the trail to adventure in the woods and swamps a gulf coast state. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
High country elk camps and the sounds of bugling bull elk draws 1000’s of hunters to the mountains each fall. People are different when they’re in the mountains. They drop their guard and relax more than most any place on earth. Relationships grow in amazing ways when we allow God to move in lives. God has used the mountains in the life of today’s guest as well in the lives of those that he has shared elk camps in the Colorado and Wyoming mountains. We’ll hear of miracles that were the answers to prayers. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
Every one of us has a calling in life. For many of us, our calling is self-directed and, if we allow, many are God given. Callings can change from year to year as we move into new places in life. On today’s program we will meet with a man that has been called to reach out to men to disciple them. He loves the outdoors and enjoys spending time with others on the water and in the woods especially in those times sharing what God is doing in his life and the lives of others. God is using this friend now to get others out in places where they can share their relationship with God to others as well. He is stepping up in his calling and shares how you can as well.To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
To some it might seem dangerous or foolish, but to others it's something they look forward to all year. People lose their trucks, their ATVs and occasionally even their lives doing it, yet each year they venture out on frozen lakes, ponds rivers and streams to pull a fish through a hole drilled through the ice. It takes a tough person to sit all day on a bucket on a frozen body of water and stare into a hole in the ice. Makes you wonder about their sanity.Today, we'll meet such a man... a man with a passion for ice fishing. He's out on the ice every chance he gets. He'll share his passion for both ice fishing and for growing big Whitetails. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
Deer hunting is probably the number one hunting sport in the world. In the 2021/2022 season alone more than 6 million deer were harvested in the United States. Most of those deer were never scored for any record book. A very small percentage of those deer were scored and entered into a record book of some kind. Today, we’ll revisit a story of a world record whitetail buck that was taken in 2006 in Grant County Wisconsin. We will hear from the mouth of the lucky hunter that was lucky enough to pull the trigger and down this massive buck. Then we’ll hear of how that buck became one of the most important things in another man’s life and how it caused strife in his life, before it finally pointed him to Jesus Christ. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
Many of us grew up going to hunting or fishing camps from our youth. For many it’s been a lifelong tradition to hunt with a bunch of others. Our host grew up where several hunters came together to work as a team to harvest deer. Then there are others that would much rather hunt and fishing on their own. There are blessings and challenges in either style of hunting, But it our daily lives we need to understand that while there are times to seek out God one on one digging into his word and spending time in prayer. On today’s show we will meet up with a good friend of our host and the two of them will talk about different ways of deer hunting, with a focus on tracking mature bucks in some big woods settings. This is a solitary sport that takes a lot of stamina and concentration But is so very rewarding in the end.To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
Hunters and fishermen have a serious passion for their sports. If you mention to a deer hunter what is their favorite day of the year is, most would say opening day of hunting season. Ask a fisherman what is their favorite day of the years is, you’ll hear, opening day of fishing season. Many of these say outdoors people also share another passion. That passion is riding motorcycles. For many of us, when we think about bikers, we think about bikers gangs and all that goes along with that crowd. But there is a different side to bikers, and that is a giving side. You’ll hear on this program about how giving and caring the biking community can be.To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
Life is a series of new beginnings. Each morning when we wake up, it is a new opportunity to live for the Lord. This week we move from 2024 to 2025 and we don’t know what the year will bring. It’s often said that we don’t know what the future holds, but we know who holds the future. The God that created everything Is the one that we can count on to see us through whatever lays ahead for each of us.As we move into the new year we thought it would be fun to bring our most listened to and most requested program back for an encore appearance. This program has more laughing that all of the rest of the programs combined. If you have never heard it, you will be greatly entertained and if you have heard it before you will laugh even harder this time,More importantly, that the laughter is the story of new beginnings with the two brothers that join us. They share how they went from a life of religion to a life of relationship with Jesus Christ. Those of us that live in a time of immediate information have no idea what it would be like to live in a place or a time where you have no idea what is going on outside our little world. The Bible talks about in end times travel and knowledge will increase. If we look back over the last 100 years travel has increased at amazing rates. There was a time, not to long ago, when most people rarely traveled 100 from home. Today many of us travel across the country or around the world all the time. Today we will learn about a chief from the deep jungles of South America and how he went from being filled with demons to becoming filled with the Holy Spirit. Most of us live in a sheltered atmosphereTo support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
There is a great blessing in both the young and the old as we enjoy the outdoors together. One of the things that we have lost in recent times is the passing of wisdom from one generation to the next. There are few places where it is easier to share in these times than in a fishing boat or hunting blind. We often fail to take advantage of the opportunities to share in these special times. On today program we will join a grandfather and grandson on a very special fishing trip in Northwest Ontario, at Rushing Winds CampTo support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
Our God is a God of new beginnings. He provided for so many people throughout the Bible, in the new and old testaments. He restored so many individuals, including king David, Moses, Joseph and all of Joseph’s family. Many of our listeners are going through a tough time right now, having lost a loved one or maybe in the process of saying goodbye to someone. We understand that these are things that we will never get over But with God’s help we can get through them victoriously. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
It seems that life at times is nothing more than a series of one loss after another, from beginning to end. That seems to be a given. It’s how we respond to those losses, that gets us through. For those that have their hope in Jesus Christ, we have the only chance for peace in the midst of life’s losses. Today’s guest has had to deal with some terrible losses in his life and he has gotten through. As you will hear him say, we get through our losses. But we never get over them.To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
Someday all of God’s children will hear a trumpet call and we will rise up and join Him in the air for all eternity. The trumpet is used by the military to start the day and to end it as well as to honor those that have passed away. There is something very special about the trumpet call. Today’s guest has played his trumpet in 37 countries all around the globe and it has opened many doors, not for entertainment, but to glorify God. Today he will share several adventures in the jungles and on the rivers in South America. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
Old age might not be all it’s cracked up to be but for a few, it is an amazing trip. Today’s guest has certainly outlived most if not all of our listeners. And still today God sustains him.To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
There is an old saying that starts with, Out of the mouths of babes. Kids are honest. At times, children will say things that adults often find embarrassing if it happens to be around other adults. Children notice things we often don’t, or they are perhaps not as desensitized to the feelings and ideas of others. Most people in America don’t think of pastors as real guys. Often they are thought of as someone that is unapproachable and stuffed shirt. On today’s show you will meet a pastor that is anything but those things. He is an outdoorsman through and through and his passion for hunting and fishing are only surpassed by his passion for his savior and his family. Come along now and join our host, Dean Hulce as we share the life with a pastor and special Michigan outdoorsmen as they talk about life in God’s Great Outdoors as they travel together down the Trail To Adventure. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
From Deep In The Heart of Texas, this week our host visits with a man that has spent his life hunting and fishing South Texas in the hill country and the brush country. He lived most of his life chasing the American dream in business and the outdoors. Losing his wife at a young age brought big changes in his life. Today, Jesus Christ is the most important part of his life. He has spent much of the last several years serving others, while serving the Lord through the outdoors. Today you’ll hear of how our guest has given up much of his hunting to not only share in the hunting and fishing experience but also share in a hope and trust in Jesus Christ. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
The leaves have changed colors in the north and many have fallen. Many areas have had their first frost and the whitetail bucks have begun to look for does. Most every of the country has an open archery season. Groups of archery hunters are joining together to pursue a number different species of big and small game. All with Bows and Arrows. There’s another group of archers that gathered together earlier in the year. The Christian Bow Hunters Association gathered in Cadilac Michigan to celebrate their 40th anniversary. Today’s guest is the head of this great organization, that not only shares a love for God’s Great Outdoors, but for Jesus Christ as well.To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
All of us that are blessed enough to make it to an age where we can consider retirement will have to consider what we will do with the time that God has remaining for us, before we leave this life. Most individuals that do retire say that they don’t know how they had time to work before retirement, because they are so busy in retirement. One today’s program we will meet a gentleman that is just leaving the day to day working world and seeking out what God has for him and his wife in the future. So many men and women have a draw towards the outdoors. Hunting or fishing draw us into a life that affects us in amazing ways. Today’s guest went through times in his youth where he wasn’t sure that he wanted to live any more. One of the things that you’ll hear today is that he wasn’t as afraid of dying as much as he was afraid to living or at least living without a purpose When God showed up and gave him a purpose, He changed his life. Through many years of learning how God wanted him to lead, he began a ministry that now serves so many in the outdoors and lives souls are being changed. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
They say that you can’t just make old friends. But every once in a while God sends someone into your life that becomes an old friend almost instantly. These are people that you know will be a friend for the rest of your life. Today’s guest, Bo Blackwell, is that kind of friend for our host. Oh, the amazing sound of an elk in the mountains. There are few sounds more beautiful, more majestic in God’s Great Outdoors. God filled the high places of this world with the most beautiful sights and sounds. The call of the elk, the screeching of a golden eagle as it floats on the updrafts on the peaks of the Rocky Mountains. There is something about those places. On today’s program we will climb to the highest peaks of the rockies in Wyoming. In a hunting lodge in the middle of central Michigan a family gathers each year for two very special hunts. This family is not connected by human blood, but by something much stronger. A group of otherwise unconnected individuals are drawn for two reason, to serve those that want to hunt and to share a special love for each one being served and for others. Today’s program shares a little history of a few of those that comes from quite a distance to serve. We’ll hear the stories of some of the special children that have come to this special place, Two Hats Ranch. For the last 25 years the owners of Two Hats Ranch and Quest Ministries have offered these incredible deer hunts. For nearly 20 years there is an amazing family that have a family reunion of sorts. We all hope to one day live a comfortable life. Many work for 40+ years with the intent to one day have all we need financially and with health to be very comfortable. But what does it mean to be comfortable and are we really called to be comfortable in life? I would question if we are ever called to be comfortable spiritually. Today’s guest will speak to the need to move out of our comfort zone and look for ways to do something that will change how we live life. He will explain it in terms of hunting dangerous game around the world and being in and being out of his comfort zone.To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29

We will hear about his battle to stay alive and how God is using him despite his heart condition. He has had more than one physical test as well as other tests over the last 6 or 8 years and you’ll hear him tell us that you can’t have a testimony if you don’t have a test. There is something special about a relationship that has lasted over decades. Those friendships that may have been paused by miles or years seem even sweeter when they’ve been rekindled. Our Host, Dean Hulce has been blessed with many friends all over the world. Today our guest started out as a hunting client for Dean 35 years ago. Many firsts were shared between the two of them. Many species were hunted and harvested. All of these hunting memories were revisited on this weeks program along with laughter and tears. All outdoorsmen and women go through spans of time in their outdoors career where no matter what they do, things seem to go wrong. Fishermen have many stories of the one that got away and hunters can tell you of the ones they’ve missed. Hunting and fishing as well as all of life are hard and seemingly unfair at times. For most of us that have been through these tough spells of shooting or setting the hook there comes a time of redemption. A time that brings to an end the series of failures that we have dealt with for what seems like a long long time. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
From the farms and woods of Northern Michigan to the prairies of South Dakota today’s guest has taken trophy animals for a young lady. This young lady faced an early death and God pulled her through. She was told that she would never play competitive sports, but she not only played, but she also thrived as a basketball player. God has blessed this young lady with some great trophies, and she is humble and gives Him the credit. She knows that it is only because of God’s favor that she has been able to not only fish, hunt, trap and play basketball but just to be here at this time. We hope the through today’s show you learn that listening to your guide, whether it be in the outdoors, or in life, is the most important choice you can make.To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
We all have dreams for what we would like to do someday in our lives. We desire things, some things that are selfish, and some that are for God’s glory. If we are dreaming and fighting for those things that are what we want for ourselves, we are wasting our time and energy. It’s when our hearts align with God’s heart, it’s then that God fulfills our dreams. It’s then that we see our dreams come true.To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
Every one of us at some time in our lives believes that we are facing something that is far too big to overcome. All too often we use these things as crutches to not have to face the difficult things in life. We may say we’ll do whatever it takes to get past our struggles, but will we really do it. On today’s show we will meet a man that learned to cuss as a little boy working with the field works in the peanut fields of Georgia. He faced obstacles and one day, after losing his mother, he decided from that day forward, he would not want to do anything that would have disappointed her. God took this boy to great and beautiful places around north America but more importantly, He took him on a life of spiritual adventure and victory. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
In the wilds of far northern Ontario there are places where a person could walk for many days without coming out into civilization. Some areas you could be attacked by wolves before you ever made it out. To leave a boy in the wilds in these areas will certainly bring him closer to manhood in a hurry. Around the world there are many different thoughts on when a boy becomes a man or a girl becomes a woman. In Jewish tradition this happens at 12 or 13 years of age But does a ceremony and a party make a child into an adult? It’s been said that a boy becomes a man when he learns that he is not the most important person in his life. This is the story on today’s program. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29

Many of us feel like we have no idea what it would be like to have an addiction. We look on and think, that’s what the alcoholic or drug user deals with. Today’s guest does a good job of describing what it is like to have an addiction He says, Think about putting your phone away for a week or two with on contact with it. It makes you think. What is the first thing you reach for when you wake up? What is it that you do when you have a little free time most days? I think that if we are honest we all have had or now have an addiction of some kind in our lives. What we learn today is that overcoming is a hard process and it takes more than worldly programs, it take the Lord and strong Christian men and women around you to get through the hard times. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
For many that have lived a sheltered life, today’s show will likely be eye opening. The story of a man raised in conservative teachings to a life of crime and a return to the teachings of his youth. One of the best known stories of the Bible is the Prodigal Son Today’s guest lived it out. We’ll hear stories chasing moose on the lakes and in the northern bush of Canada, to police chases and chasing cows for competition. We cover two countries and many stops along the way. It’s a great story of what the power of God can do in a life, when he’s invited in.Hold to tight for today’s show it’s a fast and bumpy and sometimes surprising ride in and out of God’s Great Outdoors A true journey down the trail to many adventuresTo support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
Sometimes God uses the most common people in the most uncommon ways. Today’s guest was just such a person and used in just such a way by God. We started out today’s program with great intentions of sharing some very funny fishing stories and we got sidetracked into the history and God workings in a most amazing way. Our guest looks very familiar to many and once you hear the program you’ll understand why. Over and over again you will hear, God is doing something here , and He was. This is one of our favorite programs and the radio portion doesn’t have a lot of what we would characterize as outdoor activity, but the story of what God did in a small town is well worth the listen. In many times of hunting using calls is a big part of the hunt. Calling game is a great way to be successful in the hunts. You and I all have a calling on our lives. Sometimes that calling might change in one season of life to the next, But know that God does have a calling for you and He is preparing you to live that calling out. Today’s guest thought he was going to become a professional fisherman. He thought that was his calling in life. He soon realized that God was preparing him for something much different, a much higher callingTo support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
For men in our world there are not many things more important that the relationships between a father and his son. All too often today we are drawn away by the demands of the world on our time and efforts. On today’s Trail To Adventure in God’s Great Outdoors we will hear from a pastor and his father-in-law about how God used God’s Great Outdoors and Gerry Caillouet many years ago to make a difference not only in these two men’s lives but through many hundreds of men over the last nearly 20 years. The Bible tells us that Iron sharpens Iron and there are not many places that it works better than in a hunting or fishing camp or in a fishing boat. We’ll hear how that plays out on today’s program. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
God changes men’s hearts all the time and yet as Christians we often see someone that seems to have everything in place in their lives and we question if they could make a choice to follow Jesus. Today’s guest seemed to have it all. Great job, owner of a great company, freedom to do whatever he wanted to do. Yet, he had a hole in his life. Then one day, he heard about a man named Jesus, that allowed Himself to be hung on the cross just for him.Today, that same outdoorsman that seemed to have everything, left it all behind and went to work sharing the gospel at a Cowboy Church in the cattle country of South Texas. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
If you were one of the top winning fisherman of all time as well as someone that was on national TV for several decades it might be easy to show a little pride in yourself. However, today’s guest is just that fisherman but you’ll see he is a humble man that gives the credit to God for all those things he’s been blessed with.Life has gotten so busy and noisy and you’ll hear about the necessity of slowing down, being still and resting on the Lord. The generations of today rarely take the opportunity to be still, and it is something that we need to do.To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
Sometimes God brings His children together in the most unusual ways. Today’s guest saw the logoed God’s Great Outdoors Truck in a hotel parking lot in Lafayette Louisiana and the next day God placed our host and his guest at the side of the truck at the same time. Some of us have lived fairly sheltered lives and at times we feel as though we don’t have a testimony as many others we know. Then there are those that lived out a full sinful life at a young age. Today’s guest came from a life of drugs to a life of service for the Lord A life of living for the next high to living for the next chance to share the Gospel. God has used this past drug dealer to build churches and to finance ministry all over the world. The churches that he has pastored have financed missionaries to the African bush to cowboys on the rodeo grounds. No mater how far you feel you are from where God wants you, today’s show will show you that you are never beyond the reach of a loving God. It also will show those that might be dealing with addictions that there is hope in the Lord.To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29

On today’s show we will learn of a man that God follow around the world, from North Carolina to Africa, the Artic Ocean, Hawaii, and He finally got his attention in British Columbia, Canada. The amazing thing is that in the same time that the Holy Spirit caught up to him, he also caught up to his wife, in Kona Hawaii and all that after 40 years of waiting for them to turn their lives over to Him. Our guest today has lead a very adventuresome life as a professional fisherman that became a professional fisher-of-men. There are few places or activities more relaxing than a trout stream with a fly rod. The art of fly fishing has very little to do with fishing and more about peace and tranquility and time with our creator. On today’s show we will meet a fisherman who began his lifetime pursuit of his passion at a very young age. He learned early on that flyfishing is a passionate pursuit. It’s a very special week, all over the world Easter Week. The week, on the show, we celebrate the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This past fall was different, after a disappointing beginning she killed the best buck of her life and was redeemed. Every one of us that hunts or fishes spends time in preparation for our sport. There is scouting, hanging stands and many other things to prepare when hunting. In fishing we get the boat ready, check lake maps and charts, getting rods and other gear ready before we head to the water. In life we also prepare for the future as well as special opportunities that also come our way.On today's program we will hear from Pastor Adam Ray who has a deep passion for the outdoors. He is a very successful hunter and fisherman, as well as a successful father and husband. One of the things he prepares for every day is to be ready to give an when he is asked where his hope comes from.To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29

However, the optimists among us know that spring is coming and will soon be here and it won’t be long until we will hear the sounds of boats on the water. On today’s show we will visit with fisherman Jeff Micolic that has devoted countless hours into the sport of musky fishing as well as the conservation and education of the sport. All of us have struggles to overcome in life. For some it might seem like a small hurdle and for others it might feel like we’ve come up against a grizzly bear. Well one of this week’s guests was in fact attacked by the monster grizzly bear in the Northern Canadian Mountains. He was slowly bleeding to death and God spared his life. Up until that point our guest was running as far away from God as fast as he could. Life was spent gathering as much as the world had to offer. The bloody attack on the mountain redirected his life. Today, we’ll learn about the aftermath of the attack and recovery. Our second guest will tell about how she prayed for her husband for over 10 years and how God used that bear attack to answer her prayers. If you are worn from praying for a person or situation in your life and you wonder if God is listening, play close attention to this program. God hasn’t forgotten you, He is listening and He will answer in His timing and in your best interest. Don’t give up.To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29

The sounds of Solitude in today’s world we rarely get to experience true solitude, as there are few places that offer it. In NW Ontario, on a secluded fly in only lake there is still such a place. A place where the only sounds are the sounds of water lapping against the side of the fishing boat or the shoreline, the lonesome call of the loons, the rushing wind as it blows through the tall spruce and the still small voice of God as He speaks to you. Part of today’s program is a re-airing of a program from last year. We’ll visit with a board member of God’s Great Outdoors and his wife, about an amazing place and all that it offers. Rushing Wind camp in NW Ontario is the place that we will hear about. The giant aspens of the western mountain are one of the largest known organisms in the world. It is not well know that many of the large groves of aspens are all connected to one another. The roots grow out from one tree and often send up shoots that become another tree. Often times Ministries grow in the same fashion. One ministry sets roots and grows and as it matures it sends out roots and a new ministry springs forth and grows strong. Many years ago God gave today’s guest a vision to start an organization called Christian Bow Hunters of America. From the roots of that organization God lead Gerry Caillouet to build God’s Great Outdoors. And the rest as they say is history. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29

Like the gardener, many hunters plant food plots and wait on the seeds they’ve planted to sprout and produce the plants that the deer need to grow healthy and strong.
In the last words of Jesus we heard a commend to plant seeds, when He said in Mark 16:15 Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.
Today we’ll learn a lot about planting seeds and nutrition for wildlife from Doug Kostreva of Horne Buck Seed Company. We’ll also learn about our responsibility to plant and water for Jesus Christ throughout our lives.

As we go through life, day by day we, if we look closely, we will see God’s shaping and pruning of our lives. There is growth that comes on slowly that we never notice and some growth that comes on quickly when we’ve been taken unaware. God sees it all and He is ready to cut away those things that are growing us in an unhealthy direction. There are times when the trimming and pruning is a somewhat painful process But these are the times when we grow the strongest and in the best direction. This week on God’s Great Outdoors, Our host will talk to someone that loves the outdoors, loves the Lord and knows how to raise Christmas trees. The topic on this week’s Trail To Adventure! is on Lyme Disease and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. Gerry visits with Billy (Catfish) Parker and his wife Laura at the C’Meer Deer booth during the annual Archery Trade Assn. Show that was held in Indianapolis, Indiana in February of 2015. Both of these outdoor recreationalists share stories of the adventures and the battle that is encountered by a tiny insect at least eight months of the year. Ticks! Laura has been infected with both Lyme Disease and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, but early detection helped in her treatment being a quick ordeal. Billy however, went a number of years before his Lyme Disease was discovered causing extended and daily treatments that lasted many months. Their hope is as they tell this story; is it will help keep others from having to go through the same mess they experienced! To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
On the Trail To Adventure! photographing mountains, fields, streams, seashores, and much more is the topic with this week's guest Dr. Charles Stanley. Dr. Stanley shares how he got involved in photography to include even developing all of his own photographs which are featured on just about all of the In Touch Ministry's items available to the public. He tells how awestruck he is by God's creation and by the memories surrounding the photos. Dr. Stanley also tells of his early years of fishing, hunting, and shooting, but how the absence of a father in his life to do these things with were clearly remembered in later years when he was a man. He offers to the audience that they may not think that taking a youngster fishing that has no father figure is a big deal, but he assures them that it is and how it can leave a lasting impact for eternity. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
On this week’s Trail To Adventure! Gerry is visiting with Dr. Richard Swenson in Wisconsin and the two are talking about Intelligent Design. The truth is there is more of a chance mathematically that your car happened by accident over hundreds of millions of years, then just your eyeballs having evolved and how they work with your entire body? This is just one of the things that Dr. Richard Swenson shares in the interview with Gerry as they discuss this topic and Dr. Swenson’s book, More Than Meets the Eye. Having taught surgery at the University of Madison, Wisconsin, and having minored in physics, this interview is jam-packed with information that declares that we have a Creator God. Perhaps the most listened to interview aired by GGO in the 20+ years we’ve been broadcasting. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/136/29
This week’s Trail To Adventure! has Gerry at one of the conferences GGO does across the country teaching How To do outdoor outreach ministry. The author of the tract "Up in Smoke," Bob Hodgdon, tells the story of how his dad's business, Hodgdon Powder, had its beginnings after World War II. Bob shares a funny story "now," of how as a 10 year old boy he almost blew up their house; his parents didn't find out about this until a family reunion 35 years later. Bob relates what a reader would see in the tract of how an explosion at one of their factories and four funerals for Christians, who were killed at that tragedy, brought him to receive Jesus Christ. It was during these funeral services and seeing how the men being buried, their family and friends, though sorrowful, rejoiced and celebrated their homecomings in Heaven. Bob didn't know what they had or what was different about them, but he just knew he had to have it too.

On this week’s Trail To Adventure! we’re exploring how two guys, David Hale who was a farmer, and Harold Knight a barber, who got together to design, develop, and market turkey calls. Gerry visits with these two legends in the outdoor world to discover that the only reason they started to sell their calls was because there weren’t many turkeys in Kentucky and they hoped to be able to make enough to buy a non-resident hunting license in Missouri. Giving one of these calls to an outdoor writer way back when there weren’t many turkeys to start with, created quite a stir. His article in an outdoor magazine drove in hundreds of phone calls to get one of their turkey tubes and it just went on from there. Both of these men give all the glory to God for what has happened in their lives and they continue to praise Him as the years roll by. The two are able to present their story at game dinners, telling of God’s blessing on them!

Also discussed is how Ken, Joni’s husband, is using fishing as a way of reaching out to men who need Jesus, or need their relationship with the Creator God brought to a deeper level. Additionally, Joni tells about the special summer camps they have across the nation for physically and mentally disabled young people and adults. Her call is for men who might be willing to come along side these people and be volunteers at these summer events. On this week’s Trail To Adventure! we’ll discover how you can have your family and area kids hooked for life. That’s hooked, with their own personal relationship with the Creator God, Jesus Christ. Gerry’s guest is Trevor Ruble, the President and Founder of a ministry to children and families molded on teaching them how to fish called "Hooked for Life." This is an interest or activity based outdoor outreach and evangelistic fishing themed program that is being adopted by many churches across North America. Trevor shares how he had struggled as a kid without a dad and how fishing was his escape from that loss. As an adult the ministry idea was something God laid on his heart, as a way to help kids to learn to fish and also could be used to help youth come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior.

On this week’s Trail To Adventure! treestand safety is the topic as Jay Everett from Hunter Safety Systems is this week’s guest. Gerry and Jay spend part of this interview talking treestand safety to help the listeners understand the importance of the topic and seriously consider their need to wear safety harnesses while hunting from an elevated platform. Statistics show that one out of three people that hunt out of a treestand will have an accident at some time in their life, with a number of these incidents being fatal. Jay relates facts on the safety harness and how their research reveals that most falls take place going up, getting into, coming out of and then descending to the earth. The goal of this program is to be sure that none of the listeners will become a part of the tragic statistic, on the negative side.

This week’s Trail To Adventure! interview is with Pastor Dan Williams from Manitoba, Canada as he visits with Gerry at Rushing Wind Retreat Center in Ontario, Canada. A remote location to the point, those who attend are brought in by float plane. A fishing trip many folks dream of, and so opens the door for bringing along unsaved friends and relatives who need Jesus. Dan tells the story of his desire to catch a big lake trout and despite the bad weather conditions decided to go way up the lake and try for one. On heading back, the storm had really blown in and the wind wouldn’t allow the boat through a narrow, shallow area. Dan tried gunning the motor and broke the shear pin, which was only the beginning of the adventure!

This week’s Trail To Adventure! the interview is with Dan Ryks, a charter boat captain on the Mississippi River, in Minnesota. Dan tells the story of how he came to Christ in prison. He went in an angry man who was always fighting and came out totally opposite of how he went in. Gerry and Dan talk about how Dan, born in 1965, used to, along with about 12 other boys, carry their shotguns to school to shoot ducks on the way. These young men all left their guns in the principal’s office, took them out at lunch to hunt ducks, then again as they traveled home. The point Gerry reflects on is how they were allowed guns in school, had The Ten Commandments, and there were no school shootings back then. Today can’t mention Jesus, no Ten Commandments or guns in schools and there are school shootings. Why?

On this week's Trail To Adventure! Gerry’s interview is with Dennis and Peggy Robinson who relate an experience that happened when they were dairy farmers in Wisconsin. Dennis placed himself before God and everything in his life was about him and what he wanted in life. His wife Peggy had turned him over to the Lord and said, "You need to deal with him, Lord, he is yours." Two days later Dennis was pulled half way through a hay wagon mechanical apparatus and was not expected to live from the massive injuries he received. Yet, God had a plan, and it included transforming a man to be what God wanted him to be. Clearly this is an interview we can all benefit from and a direction to move to also!

These adventures are not only great fun for the family, but certainly groups travel from across the country every year to join Russ and be a part of these fact-finding trips. Besides this interview’s discussion on Creation and how God has everything in control, the two talk about the struggles that come to all ministries that stand on the Word of God and refute what world science and opinion has to say. It was during one of these incredibly low times that Russ Miller asked God to make Himself clear in his mind that he was really doing God’s will in educating and equipping others. On this Trail To Adventure! Gerry meets with Dave Battle who is someone making his living related to God’s great outdoors. Dave and his wife Beth live in Anchorage, Alaska. He was raised to believe in Jesus, the Bible, and Creation, as he was immersed in experiencing the outdoors with his father. However, in his college years everything he was being taught as he studied to become a wildlife biologist was telling him, not only was Evolution a fact, but there wasn’t even a God necessary for life to exist. Yet, one day in class, an eye-opening look at how each skull he was required to examine and study from the different animal species revealed that they had to have been both intricately and intelligently designed for that animal to exist at all. They had such precise locations for the many openings and these hole locations; to him was positive proof of Intelligent Design and a Creator God!

On this Trail To Adventure! a family tragedy is part of the story as the guest will give the listeners some real recreational water safety thoughts to consider. Kenny Ratliff begins this interview by describing great times in the outdoors with his dad and reflects on how he introduced him to spending time afield and stream. This later in his life became where he directed his vocation and passed up opportunities to wear a suit and tie to work. Kenny then goes into the story of how on Father’s Day some years back, and at the same time, the family was celebrating his dad’s and his youngest brother’s birthdays, something terrible happened. Kayaking on an area river, both of these two loved ones were taken home to be with the Lord because of a boating accident. A sad event to be sure, but one we can all learn from to be safe in our future recreation on the water.

This subject so troubled him that he was seriously considering suicide if he didn't get the answer, so he asked God to make Himself known to him the way He wants to be known. This led to a series of events that brought Craig to Christ and he became incredibly active in sharing the Gospel through outdoor outreach as he grew in Christ. On this Trail To Adventure! interview, a visit to Dr. John Whitmore’s office at Cedarville University in Ohio, Gerry got to meet Dr. Steve Austin. As an undergrad geology student at Washington State, Dr. Austin was able to explore probably the most significant geological event in the 20th century, the eruption of Mt. Saint Helen’s. This was a turning point for him as he was able to watch and discover firsthand how this catastrophe affected the landscape, including a creation of a one-fortieth scale of the Grand Canyon, in only one day. During this time Dr. Austin switched from a Christian old earth geologist, to a young earth geologist, believing the biblical account of 6000 years of earth’s age. All from seeing layer upon layer of earth that was laid down by volcanic eruptions in minutes, not hundreds of thousands of years as he had been taught.

This week’s Trail To Adventure! interview is with Dr. Danny Faulkner at the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky as he shares about Answers in Genesis ministry’s Planetarium. This museum is a great way to evangelize those who come to visit with you as it’s an apologetic ministry focusing on the importance of the first book of the Bible. Danny is the resident astronomy expert and shares with Gerry and the listeners on the vastness of the Universe, giving an easily understood example to wrap one’s mind around. He also puts a wrench in the gears of those conspiracy believers who say we never went to the moon. Fact is that because of the Apollo Lunar Missions, we now know how far we are from the moon and that the distance is expanding. It is this information that allows us to do backward math calculations to realistically consider the age relationships between the earth and its moon.

Why?

A fishing trip many folks dream of, and so opens the door for bringing along unsaved friends and relatives who need Jesus. Dan tells the story of his desire to catch a big lake trout and despite the bad weather conditions decided to go way up the lake and try for one. On heading back, the storm had really blown in and the wind wouldn’t allow the boat through a narrow, shallow area.

On this week’s program, Gerry visits with Russ Miller who is the founder of the Creation, Evolution Science Ministries. The two talk about the battle that rages over this topic and the scientific facts that point to our Creator God speaking our world and the universe into existence as stated in the Bible. Russ guides tours in Arizona’s Grand Canyon and shows from the rock and fossil records evidence that backs up what his ministry presents. This interview shares a time through Russ’s outdoor adventures when God clearly showed His love and support for him and his life’s calling.

Now this week’s Trail To Adventure! radio program has us at one of the Trail To Adventure! conferences that GGO conducts across the USA. The location is Stanley, Wisconsin at Maple Grove Bible Church. The guest Chris Smith was one of the speakers from the conference’s lineup of pro’s and ministry leaders who joined Gerry. Chris is from Victory Deer Recovery (www.facebook.com/VictoryDeerRecovery) and he shares how he and his wife Meghan founded the ministry. It started with their love of training dogs as the two went to a seminar on using dogs to hunt and find the shed antlers of deer. The methods of teaching canines to use their noses even in snow covered country sounded simple enough. From there they moved to using their pets to helping others find deer lost while hunting. This lets them build relationships and share Jesus Christ too!
