The African proverb used by Hillary Clinton is truer now then ever before.  "It takes a village to raise a child" highlights the need that children have to experience a variety of things as they grow.  In a pandemic, the village has been shut down.  Experiences relegated to virtual or limited to what a parent alone can provide. With vaccines coming, now maybe, we are close to opening up the world again to our children.  It takes a village!

Inspired by Amanda Gorman's reading of her poem entitled "The Hill We Climb".  As we come to the end of February, the official "Black History Month", my hope is that we don't close the book on recognizing, with deep gratitude, the contributions, talents, and accomplishments of the Black community. I hope that this past year has taught us more about ourselves.  In particular, how deeply rooted hate is in our country.  We can't fix it if we don't recognize that it's there.
