Jesus Divides Families, Just Like He Said

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Jesus once famously said, “Do not think I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a person’s enemies will be those of his own household.” Jesus’ point is simple: he is not only the dividing in human history, he is the dividing line in every family. Tragically, many Christians have found this to be true in today’s political climate. If we support a president who believes in the sanctity of life, in normative sexuality, and in secure borders, suddenly we become the enemy. Parents have even been disowned by children who have been brainwashed by the regressive left and the Talking Snake Media. But if our first allegiance is to Christ, this may be part of the cost of following him.
