Investigations of human potentiality, self-change willed, philosophy, deep ecology and agriculture amongst many other topics, with a contrarian bent. Here we stoke the fires of our primordial urges towards the pursuit of space and of freedom and the consequent expression of internal vitality - the urge to create.
Episode NotesThis week we a casual discussion building on "onethingness" and "thinking/thoughting"...
TALKING VS DOING. We all fall victim to not totally getting this - particularly these days when the world supercharges and sometimes even greatly rewards thinking and talking - in a word - passivity. Some feel the nastier or edgier their words are, that this "revolutionary act" will magically remove them from being passive.
Some think passivity can be attenuated by simply making positive statements or aphorisms about triumph or victory, or about the state of affairs that is clearly to "their advantage now" - as if reality will conform to their childish emotional needs.
Some feel that passively posting about active things can overcome the need to do anything, and that "hey, as long as someone else does it".
One of the main weaknesses of this species is that we are prone to rich fantasy lives in which we convince ourselves that something is "happening" and that passivity is some form of do-ing, theorising is some form of understanding. And worst of all, that all this has a strong causal relationship with a chance outcome.
In the Bio-individual method, there is only one valid outlook.
"Ok, who cares? So what are you doing about it?
The question we all need to ask - how willing are we to live a vital but disciplined life of action, do-ing. Putting down the phone, the books, dropping the pointless arguments or the tv controller and do-ing?
This is harder than it looks.....which is why barely anyone does it.

This week we discuss the disturbing trends towards obsessions with so-called “onethingness”. We’ve all heard it. “This one simple trick”, “all you need to know is this”, “miracle supplement”, “this supplement changes muh life” “the right diet” “a new religion” “politics to fix it all” - we hear this line of thinking constantly, as if it’s almost a default state for the humanity of the day etc. But is this simply a symptom of what ails society at large?
And how does vitality fit into this?

All looks at in terms of controlling physiology, and the work itself.

Episode NotesJoin us in part 2 of our series on Chris Hyatt. This week we focus more on the herd vs the marginal. How the herd can impact the marginal. How the marginal can benefit and extract himself, and live a well-rounded life on terms that he has defined as important.
We take a look at some themes like the glorification of so-called normality, how we hold ourselves back, and how Hyatt’s work and outlook relates to all of this. How this connects to the bio-individual and “undoing”.
There is of course, for anyone who is undone and has a brain, clearly no normal people on this rather bizarre ‘monkey-infested mudball floating through space’. We will do several episodes on this interview, in a more informal way, listening to segments of this interview and discussing how these insights are relevant to our own work and experiences over the last couple of decades. We take an interview as the basis for our discussions.

In this newest episode of “Bio-Individual” podcast, we take a look at our experiences with non rational language, koans and modern types of koan practice to measure subjective reactions - as a method to analyse personal character. Are they similar? We take a look at all the questions and more, and how it ties in with conscious self-directed brain change.

Episode NotesIn this newest episode of “Bio-Individual” podcast, we take a look at the split between the practice and the tradition. Is there even such a split? When should you consider a tradition and when can you pick and choose? If mindfulness an inherent part of Eastern practice or can it be separated out for someone not of that orientation?
We take a look at all the questions and more, and state our own case for what’s to come.

Episode NotesNotes go
In this newest episode of “Bio-Individual” podcast, we take a look at the implications on the so-called split brain hypothesis”, particularly that of Iain MacGilchrist in his famous book "Master and his Emissary". Split brain knowledge and its impacts on consciousness, physiological work, and how this plays into what we’re seeking to achieve as practitioners of “the work”. We discuss how wordless I the end, can’t help to be missing a vast energetic reservoir that they ignore with the characteristic arrogance of left hemisphere dominant consciousness.
We argue for less theories, more work, more experience, and less talking for self-transcendence. A new prism in which to understand the philosophers of the right brain and cognitive balance - Heidegger, Nietzsche, Heraclitus the Buddha and many others. We suggest this is the the best and least confusing frame in which to understand these men.
Drastic implications of something that no one whatsoever talks about.

Episode Notespod 4 part 2 of the new “Bio-Individual” podcast, we’re taking a look at Wilhelm Reich and Reichian therapy from a perspective of individuals who have used it for many years. We talk about some weirder experiences, such as the fabled “brain orgasm”, who these experiences create permanent “brain change”. How character fits into Reich’s theories, and we speculate on the meaning of it all. How it all fits in.
We're going to explore the basics of tension and release, character in a Reichian sense, and if this form of therapy can be of use to individuals.
We all have different strengths and weaknesses, which is why it's so important to find a practitioner that is tailored to your individual needs. In this video, I'll discuss the Bio-Individual: The Badly Wired Human Brain & Psycho-Physiological Practice, and how it can help you Better Understand Yourself & Improve Your Practice.

Episode Notes Dr. Christopher Beckwith Joins us to discuss his book “Greek Buddha: Pyrrho's Encounter with Early Buddhism” which examines links between very early Buddhism and the philosophy of Pyrrho, an ancient Greek philosopher who accompanied Alexander the Great on his Indian campaign. We also discuss the role of Scythians and Prince Gautama’s lineage, Zoroastrianism and it’s involvement in a rethink of the Buddha’s rebellion against Brahmanism - and much much more that will leave you questioning everything you thought about this time period, and Buddhism itself as a philosophical movement.

Episode Notes Alfred Korzybski, General Semantics, Breaking Down The Aristotelian Laws of Thought.
In part 2 of the General Semantics Series, we talk through the basis for how we abstract and think. The Aristotelian Laws of Thought and how they shape our everyday life and the way we see things.
What are they? How is our interaction with the world and worldview functionally shaped by them?
Is there a way to hack this and reduce negative impacts, internally and internally, through exercising scepticism of these laws?
This and much more in this episode.

Episode Notes This week we are privileged to speak with Dr. Rolph Sattler, author of "Science and Beyond: Toward Greater Sanity Through Science, Philosophy, Art and Spirituality". Please support Rolf and purchase this wonderful book, it's definitely worth your time if you wish to understand the true underpinnings of how we understand the word and ourselves. Link here:
https://www.amazon.com/Science-Beyond-Greater-Philosophy-Spirituality/dp/1039102972
Link to Rolf's website:
https://www.rolfsattler.com
Rolf's premise is as follows - Science, coupled with technology, has become the dominant force in most parts of the world. Thus, it affects our lives and society in many ways. Yet, misconceptions about science are widespread in governments, the general public, and even among many scientists. Science and Beyond explores these misconceptions that may have grave and even disastrous consequences for individuals and society as was evident during the COVID-19 pandemic, where they led to much unnecessary suffering, sickness, and death.
The misconceptions also obscure the limitations of science. Not seeing these limitations prevents us from seeing and going beyond them, which leads to a crippled life and an impoverished society. But reaching beyond the limitations of science, as outlined in this book, can open the doors to a more fulfilled, saner, healthier, happier, and more peaceful life and society.
This is something I can get behind, as you all know I steer towards skepticism of mind-body duality, an obsession with abstraction and word use. Korzybski and Rolf offer excellent ways of viewing the problem, and ways that you can try to gain a little sanity in your own life, while the world around you seems to become ever more "unsane".

Episode Notes Well, what a show. We spoke with Wolfe, a student of the occult and the late great Joseph Lisiewski.
Wolfe got in contact with me after hearing my episode with Mark Stavish. Wolfe wanted to set the record straight regarding a few things, and offer his own insights on Joe and on the magical path, as Joe set it out.
While it is reccomended maybe to listen to the episode Mark Stavish did on Joe Lisiewski, it is not necessary.
We talk Joe, Evocation of Spirits to Physical Manifestation and the use of Grimoires in theurgy, or otherwise, Laboratory Alchemy, and much more.
Wolfe was a spirited chap with a great laugh and a passion for his path, and some of the stories presented here are equal parts terrifying and enlightening.
Shedding some light on a path that almost no one in the world can, or has the will to practice anymore.

Part 1 of a series on the problems with the verb 'to be' within the context of the English language, our own take on how a simple linguistic feature contributes to personal and civilisational "insanity".
This being only one element of Korzybski's entire work, and not intended as a detailed overview of general semantics and Alfred Korzybski. Instead, in part 1, we focus on the "verb to be" or the so-called "is-ness of identity and what a simple adjustment in verbal style could achieve, in thinking of ourselves and others. further parts coming 2 days a part over the coming weeks.

I share my experiences and thoughts on Hara.
Hara is the Japanese word referencing "the belly," specifically the lower abdomen - literally referred to as the "abdominal heart."
This presentation is about the restoration of Hara. An inarguable pre-cursor to a balanced, fearless, and centred individual consitution.

The EcoClipper 500... This week we catch up with sail cargo expert Captain Jorne Langelaan whom is developing and launching a line of emission-free, square-rigged fleet of sail ships. We talk the philosophy and structure of his venture, and talk lessons learnt from cargo by sail’s rich history, aiming to scale up the successes of the newly emerged sailing cargo ships.
Cargo has been transported under sail for thousands of years. Through this time the working ships developed, culminating in the fast square-rigged clippers in the mid-19th Century. Since the motorisation of sea freight, sailing boats have seen huge technological advances both in their rig and hull, optimised for sport and pleasure. Although this has led to modern materials and faster, lighter designs, moving cargo requires different technology. After 25 years onboard both sail and motor cargo ships, Jorne Langelaan’s experience affirmed that square-rigged clippers are still the best craft for carrying cargo across oceans emission free.
The EcoClipper 500 prototype is based on the successful Dutch clipper Noah. Square-sail rigs have many sails rigged on yards which gives the ship a huge sail area whilst ensuring they are easier to manipulate and subject to minimal wear. It will have a steel hull, a material familiar for today’s boatyards which is critical to getting them built quickly. The EcoClipper 500 prototype design is a combination of old and new methods of construction, which in turn will make fast and efficient sail cargo ships.

Episode Notes I was privileged to have prolific scientist and author Stephanie Seneff, PhD on with me to discuss the politically charged and thus rather confusing issue of mRNA vaccines for covid-19/
Much of the material you will hear spoken about references a research paper Stephanie published with co-author Greg Nigh in the “International Journal of Vaccine Theory, Practice and Research”, to which I have linked. It is a highly technical entry if you’re a pleb like me, however still worth reading for understanding the true extent of exactly how little we understand about what might happen as a result of implementing these new and mostly untested technologies.
Dr. Seneff has an intimidating academic record as a senior research scientist at MIT, where she has had continuous affiliation for more than five decades. After receiving four degrees from MIT in Biophysics,Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, she conducted research in packet-switched networks, computational modelling of the human auditory system, natural language processing and spoken dialogue systems,.
Stephanie is Currently a Senior Research Scientist, being MIT’s highest research rank at the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. For over a decade, since 2008, she has directed her attention towards the role of nutrition and environmental toxicants on human disease, with a special emphasis on the herbicide glyphosate. And here we continue very much in the same vein, links to books as follows:

Very privileged to talk to Philosopher of technology David Skrbina, Ph.D., David was a senior lecturer at the University of Michigan, Dearborn, from 2003 to 2018. His areas of interest include philosophy of mind, eco-philosophy, philosophy of technology, and environmental ethics.
He and Ted Kaczynski published the book Technological Slavery, which elaborates on the Unabomber manifesto and contains about 100 pages of correspondence between the two, which took place over almost a decade. Skrbina talks about Kaczynski’s views on technological society's serious problems, but we go deeper into David’s ideas on potential remedies. We steer clear of the weak sauce technocratic subjects concerning the moralism of such actions and instead go straight for the jugular of technological society. We ask, what practical and spiritual solutions exist within the context of what we know now as a species.
Part of this was an in-depth discussion on the notion of eco-theology, how it differs from traditional religions, and an analysis of panpsychism views in general and how it could impact future humanity less in the grip of technology.
More information on David can be found here, with links to his many fine publications:

The Venerable Paññobhāsa Bhikkhu seriously began considering himself a Buddhist, although a sloppy one, at around 19, on reading the book Zen Flesh, Zen Bones, and began favoring Theravada maybe two years later after reading an old translation of the Sutta Nipata. Around 1988 he began searching for a Buddhist monastery in America in which to be ordained, and after being unimpressed by a Zen place near Mt. Shasta he settled on Taungpulu Kaba-Aye Monastery in Boulder Creek, near Santa Cruz, which was in the Burmese Taungpulu Forest Tradition. He was ordained there in 1991, on the day before the full moon of Visakha (usually May but this time April), the traditional anniversary of the Buddha’s enlightenment.
After two months as a white-robed attendant and almost two years as a monk, deteriorating conditions at the monastery (typical California craziness) inspired some of the senior monks to advise him to go to Burma for a little while till things got better. He planned on maybe two and a half years, but things didn’t get better at TKAM and he wound up living in Burma for altogether over twenty years.
Living in various forest caves (largely to better endure the blazing heat of upper Burma), and mostly avoiding other monks, Paññobhāsa Bhikkhu became pretty much a recluse, spending lots of time meditating. He acquired a reputation for being very strict, and also controversial in his interpretations of Buddhist philosophy. After burning out on Burma and wanting to come back to the USA, his first attempt at living as a free-range monk in America was in 2011.
He has found that living as a monk in America is very different from living as one in a Buddhist country like Burma. After some years of back and forth between America and Asia he wound up where he is now, at a Burmese monastery in French Camp, California.
Paññobhāsa Bhikkhu is a prolific blogger and YouTuber, with a tonne of useful material, elaborating on subjects as diverse as St John of the Cross, Pali textual interpretation, Julius Evola and even the various social ills that assail the West as Present.

We welcome Mark Stavish, prolific author and director of the Hermetic institute. Mark was kind enough to join us to discuss the life and work of his friend Joseph Lisiewski, the well known enigmatic Pennsylvanian magician. A character who has fascinated me throughout my life.
We talk about his life through the prism of Alchemy and the dreaded work of the notorious Grimoires, for which he is perhaps most well known.

In this week's episode, I express my worldview, the problem as I see it.
I talk the overwhelming psychic masochism inherent in modernity, traditionalist views, neuroscience and a project I'm working on with some tools I intend to provide frogs - to facilitate the return of men of blood, fire and sword. This is not politics, this is not philosophy. this is anti-philosophy, this is anti-intellectual, this is anti-word use. This place will be brain change willed & tangible. I only care for the real world and results.

Dr. Harry Oldmeadow, favourite guest of the show, generously joins us again. This week we speak about my personal favourite book of his “Black Elk, Lakota Visionary: The Oglala Holy Man and Sioux Tradition”
His book deals with the famous Lakota Tribe wičháša wakȟáŋ (“medicine man, holy man) Heȟáka Sápa, famously known as Black Elk.
Harry wrote this book from the perspective of the Perennialist school and much of the analysis derives from this perspective. He drew many of his insights from Fritjof Schuon’s association with Black Elk, adding and interesting dimension.
We talk Harry’s own experience with plains tribes, the great ecstatic Sun Dance, the Great Vision of Black Elk and the ridiculous and snide arrogances of the purveyors of shabby and unmaly wordplay and concept daze “kulture” against the savage and wise Noble Red Man. The Plains Tribes encapsulating much of the spirit respected and desired by many listeners.

Dr. John Powers is a Professor of Asian studies, Buddhism & Religion. His books deal with Ancient Indian Buddhism, Indian Philosophy - as dealt with "A Bull of a Man" the work we are dealing with today - and several others on Tibetan Buddhism. Links below.
The androgynous, asexual Buddha of contemporary popular imagination stands in stark contrast to the muscular, virile, and sensual figure presented in Indian Buddhist texts. In this groundbreaking study of previously unexplored aspects of the early Buddhist tradition, John Powers skillfully adapts methodological approaches from European and North American historiography to the study of early Buddhist literature, art, and iconography, highlighting aspects of the tradition that have been surprisingly invisible in earlier scholarship.
I loved this chat and his excellent book brought me a great deal of enjoyment:

Jan de Maansnijder is a traditionalist, running a blog of high quality, link below. His works deal with Christian esoteric mysticism and symbolism.
As many of you know Jan textually lays waste to all sorts of absurdities inherent in modernity, such as the accelerated movement from the corporeal to digital weeb sub-corporeal of pure quantity and even some lighter subjects like how neanderthals are merely a psyop created by social darwinists to push the great lie of evolution. Also Jan has created certain allegedly highly effective PUA tips that I won’t repeat here.

Patrick Laude is a scholar, author and teacher. His works deal with the relationship between mysticism, symbolism and poetry, as well as focusing on contemporary spiritual figures such as Simone Weil, Louis Massignon and Frithjof Schuon.
Born in France in 1958, Patrick took a graduate degree in Philosophy at the University of Paris IV Sorbonne while studying at the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris. He traveled to the US in the early eighties and obtained his Ph.D. in 1985 from Indiana University. He joined Georgetown University in 1991. Laude's scholarly work is primarily focused on comparative mysticism, the symbolic imagination in religion and literature, and Western interpretations of Asian contemplative traditions. He is the author of several books and numerous articles on these subjects. Although we had some technical difficulties during the chat and couldn’t quite get all the subject material out of the way, I believe we still managed to coax out some valuable materials on comparing religions of the East and West, as expressed in his excellent book, “Shimmering Mirrors: Reality and Appearance in Contemplative Metaphysics of East and West”. I recommend this book for all those interested in this difficult subject.
We will have a book deal available for listeners soon! Watch this space.

This week we are privileged to speak to Alchemist Phoenix Aurelius on his concept of "Alchemi-Culture". That is the art and science of utilising the principles of alchemy for the purposes of agriculture, and effectively building another layer on top of Seiner’s bio-dynamic theory. My mind was completely and utterly blown after this, something that rarely happens these days and I guarantee yours will also.
Phoenix has a wonderful story - by happenstance, or as we will see perhaps not, inheriting an alchemical laboratory and library from the famous German alchemist Frater Albertus from a former office manager of the famous Paracelsus Research Society in Salt Lake City. From his earliest days of being naturally inclined to the science and art of alchemy, he has built and incredible breadth of knowledge on these issues and I got so much from this talk, as you will.
These days Phoenix focuses on agricultural experimentation, manufacturing organic, bio-dynamic medicinal alchemical spagyric tinctures and also provides education for up and coming alchemists running courses online. You can find more information at https://www.phoenixaurelius.org

This week we are privileged to speak to Zen master, Peter “Genjo” Bruza.
Peter started Zen practice in the late 80’s with the “Kanzeon Sangha” in The Netherlands while he was working in computer science. His first teacher was Genno Roshi, who as we will hear, greatly helped him on The Way. After moving back to Australia he briefly studied within the Korean Kwan Um school of Zen. From there and as we will see in a rather moving recounting, he met is master “Hogen Yamahata” at a sesshin near Byron Bay in 1995. Since then he has been studying under Hogen san's guidance and became a Dharma successor in 2008. He currently works as an academic.
I have engaged in Zazen in Peter’s circle on many occasions in the past and was always vastly impressed with him. He is one of those rare individuals some of us are privileged enough to encounter in our lifetimes. I hope you are also able to engage with his excellent descriptions and knowledge on “Zen and Awareness”.
Interview Starts 03:55 04:30 PB'S lineage, meeting his master 13:00 Decline in Japan, Hogen san's journey 20:50 Driving from home - What was I missing? 24:00 Buddhism and Christianity, Experience vs Theological salvation? 35:30 How did Zen develop?
