Memento was born in the far 2006 in the thick fog of the Pianura Padana area, between Mantua and Bologna which is worldwide famous not only for Tortellini and Parmesan but also for Techno Music and the deep style. A city that keeps always an eye on the first steps of the far Detroit. It was born as a creative outlet for Idriss D’s (an algerian dj who fell in love with Italy) musical vision. Berlin and the minimal style showed their power during those years and our cowboy decided to give his contribution to the scene creating partly for fun the label Memento.
Growing up surrounded by CDs and vinyls, Jo-Sie’s passion for music traces back to her childhood. She has been developing her taste in electronic music from the day she moved to Barcelona, in 2013. By attending the best events in town and immersing herself in the notorious local scene, she sharpened her knowledge until creating her own universe, ready to make people dance to the sound of her vinyl selection.The weekly Monday night Memento xs at Macarena club (Barcelona) was her first proper home once a month to elaborate her music test and vinyl skills and where she was able to play in front of a meticulous crowd. A very welcome follow up, aptly titled “Lunatic 2”, this tune is fiercely uptempo and energetic: the psychedelic melody swirls inside, outside and around your mind, while the fluid bass line counterparts the schizophrenic rhythm. On top of this, powerful emotional vocals take you into another dimension.
The prestigious remix comes courtesy of Gilb’R, founder of Versatile Records and one half of Chateau Flight: a slower downtempo piece with an infectious, almost improvisational synth melody, with vocals taking center stage here, full of atmospheric sounds all over that land into a deep dreamy break.

“Hold Me” sees Dino team up with Argentinian singer/songwriter Polina Grace for a deep and atmospheric piece: her multi-toned sophisticated singing matches late 80s dreamy synth melodies, with an infectious bassline and subtle percussions creating a soulful groove, making this the perfect soundtrack to a Balearic sunset.
The Dub version strips down the track to a more essential sound while retaining all the magic of the original.

Towards the B side "Run mami run" [B1] is composed by a classic intro of acid cut while some seconds of drums interpose which are accompanied by a radio narration of a chase, a return change is present with a vinyl spin between voices from GTA & WU TANG CLAN which make an intro for an infusion of breaks fully aligned to the beginnings of oldskool drum and bass which are accompanied by voices recorded, treated and edited to connect more directly between the spaces interrupted by the glitch acid chords.
They are two pieces that make up totally different break paths where "Mi ama Dic K no" [A1] is my own exploration and vision of the break beat, three melodies written in F # that count the subtlety, while the bass contrasts in an aggressive idea to the beat of many changing rhythms in the drums, which sorfs between a Mpc, 808, Dsm & V Modular ; Classic trip hop voices samples that guide the way this own idea progresses on the breaks and pads that generate a more complete environment with a very energetic atmosphere that is constantly on the rise in the active and natural development of the track.
On the flip side , Dj Sotofett is just condensed cutting edge music technology wisdom; the straight deep beat and the charming arpeggios transform the original mayhem into a late night anthem.

The E.P. ends with the refreshing 808 splashes of “Seven”, a dance floor killer bridging the darker side of electronica with full bodied jacky functionalism.
On the full-length of the A side, “Pure” juicy gurgles synthetic sequences over a court of crispy old-school drums, slowly ascending into an overcoming roll climax.
On side B “Electro Boogie” is a lively stimulating morodesque ride invaded by a catchy arpeggio and enjoyable drums.

“Intro Salam” featuring Eryn Eliott from Detroit opens the ball with a delightful blend of evocative Saharian woodwinds and chants and a steady four to the floor rhythm.
“Lost and Conscious” displays the greatest influence that street Hip Hop has been on Idriss’s musical journey, and accompanies super rolling fat beats with the swinging Italian rap of Libbera and a dystopic array of synths and bass lines.
“Salam Outro” featuring his uncle Zerouala Mohamed Lamine closes the album in a suggestive beatless journey into the mysterious nights of the Great Desert.
Eryn Eliott deep space spoken-word in “Phenomenal Woman” takes us out in the sky with its fluffy atmospheres through the funkiness Middle East flavoured percussions and a blues bass guitar.

Like a bolt from the blue, the title track “Hayet Hayati” brings us with its hard kick drum, and incessant repeated stabs in the middle of a dance floor, in the rush hours. Inflaming the atmosphere with its heated vocal hooks and acid bass line.
The soulful voice of Eryn Eliott is again injected in the fast paced “Call Detroit”, another late time killer cut, minimalistic, funky and full of Motor City reminiscences.
The Analogue Cops rework the evocative potential of the original with a raw jacking grab in their “Dance of The Condor Remix”, anchoring a biting kick drum and an highly corrosive acid bass.
M.R.E.U.X delivers his “Green Trip Mix”, a very effective minimalistic reinterpretation, built on pounding rhythms and hypnotic sequences.
Farfa´s long-lasting original track is a dancefloor skyrocket designed with skilful craftmanship. The humonguos drums and the driving bass line stockpile the explosive potential of a synthetic flock of sound, eventually becoming unwordly bloops pierced by evocative strings.
“Piramide” is a fast technotic ride over an hypnotic tribal chant. A fat saturated bass drum and crispy claps open the way to an highly resonant synthetic lead that spins around itself over and over again, submerging and resurfacing with furious snares and rapid hi-hats. The two sides of the record entirely disclose Idriss' sharpened club sense and his superb taste for graceful arrangements.
“Shams” is an overwhelming dancefloor tune that expands on a flangered sequence, crackling arpeggios, an uplifting galactic pad, shredded male hooks and finally an esoteric slice of a female lyric.
In "Lake", after a dense windy evocative prelude, metallic percussion leave the footprint to the headway of a stomping kick drum and a mesmerizing bass line. Sedately flowing synthetic notes, filtered bleeps and rapid beads lead the track to a grandiose finale in which whiffle and wafts become an ubiquitous polyphonic pad.
"Swan" begins with a smoky dramatic introduction, that in a rapid glance become a obscure minimalistic dancefloor killer with a grueling bass line and unremitting hi-hats. Finally taking off with a gust of monochromatic sequences and a whirl of dampings.
