Keith is an author, international speaker, and founder of Biblical Foundations Academy International. He has been involved in a wide variety of ministries, including being a Methodist pastor, a professional sports team chaplain, a television and radio host, and a tour leader in Israel. Keith holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota, a master’s degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Illinois, and has completed an intensive Hebrew language course at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. But most of all, Keith loves our heavenly Father and His children—that’s you!
After getting in to see artifacts that were buried beneath the traditional site of the tomb of Jonah, I heard there was another gate that ISIS blew-up that might give me access inside the walls of ancient Nineveh...you know, the place Jonah tried to run from and was swallowed by a really big fish. I would need a really BIG favor from a new friend and a key to unlock the gate in order to get in. When ISIS blew up the Mashgi Gate in modern Mosul, they actually triggered the resurrection of ancient Nineveh!

Beyond all of the historical and archeological information I encountered in Babylon, there were two specific things that I needed to find. I even darn near dragged the director of the entire site to help me locate these two important artifacts. When we found them, he agreed to do an on-camera explanation for us! Whenever I come across two words repeated in Scripture, my eyes and my ears perk up. When those two words are connected to the second most mentioned city in the Bible, my mind and my spirit join in. When I have the opportunity to actually visit the place mentioned, my two feet start moving. When it all comes together, it feels like something special is in the works. Such is the case with the site of the ancient ruins of Babylon in biblical Iraq!

There is a famous song by Led Zeppelin titled “A Stairway to Heaven.” I wonder if Led was influenced by the misunderstanding of the story of the Tower of Babel when he wrote this popular piece of music. After having the opportunity to see the place and the base of the structure that symbolized sacred space in the ancient world, I am convinced that what we call in English the Tower of Babel was actually an invitation for the pagan gods to visit earth. Unfortunately, for the poor pagans who lived on the plains in biblical Iraq, the one true God RSVPed, came down the stairway FOR heaven, and the rest is history!

As I found myself in southern Iraq, floating on the Euphrates River, I realized that beyond being in the region of the Garden of Eden, I was also in Noah’s neighborhood! As I opened my Bible to Genesis chapters 5-10, I discovered that there was no Bible GPS that gave Noah’s address, so I figured I would skip this episode. But then I heard about an ancient artifact discovered in Biblical Iraq that may have come from Noah’s diary!
