Today we heard from our District Superintendent (of the Central Canada District of The Wesleyan Church) about "Three Imperatives and One Connecting Word" from Luke 10:25-37 and Matthew 28:18-20.
We begin a series entitled "The Power in You" about the third person of the Trinity; the Holy Spirit.
Paul shines a light into areas that, just as the Ephesians did, we need to surrender and let God do His work in us.
How do we avoid being tossed around by the "winds" of the age? Ephesians 4:7-15 can help us.

To be a follower of Christ is to be generous, and people are drawn to those who give much more than they get. Matthew 6:1-4.
If it were really easy to do these things, we may be tempted to think we don't need God. But God puts forward what seems to be impossible so he can make the impossible possible, and therefore show Himself to us in a new way...as He changes our hearts. Matthew 5:48.
The more our actions and attitudes towards others are shaped by scripture and the leading of the Holy Spirit, the more God can use us as His representatives to a hurting and broken world. Matthew 5:38-42.
