My name is Ben Russell, and I like shiny things. No, I don’t mean jewelry or fast cars; I’m talking about shiny ideas and concepts. The ones that we experience, that we imagine to be shaping ourselves and this world we live in, and that express themselves as philosophies, projects, causes, and the stories we tell each other.
Mr. Magpie aims to act as a conduit, to collate and spread new and shiny ideas from the people of Prince Edward Island through the age-old practice of storytelling and listening to stories in an intimate setting. Together, let’s use metaphorical metal detectors to find those shiny little nuggets of creativity and non-conformist thinking before they are trodden deeper into the soil of the traditional fables that shape our landscape.It’s all about human connection - understanding ourselves on a deeper level and learning from one another as we embark on this journey.
