Anne Butler Montgomery has worked as a television sportscaster, newspaper and magazine writer, teacher, author, and amateur sports official. Her first TV job came at WRBL-TV in Columbus, Georgia. It led to positions at WROC-TV in Rochester, New York, KTSP-TV in Phoenix, Arizona, and ESPN in Bristol, Connecticut, where she anchored the Emmy and ACE award-winning SportsCenter. She finished her on-camera broadcasting career with a two-year stint as the studio host for the NBA’s Phoenix Suns. Montgomery was a freelance and/or staff reporter for six publications, writing sports, features, movie reviews, and archeological pieces. Her novels include The Castle,A Light in the Desert, Wild Horses on the Salt, The Scent of Rain, and Wolf Catcher. Montgomery taught sports reporting at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication and taught high school journalism for 20 years. She was an amateur sports official for four decades, a time during which she called baseball, ice hockey, soccer, and basketball games, and served as a high school football referee and crew chief. Montgomery is a foster mom to three sons and a daughter. When she can, she indulges in her passions: rock collecting, scuba diving, musical theater, and playing her guitar.

In this day of sensitive people, the last thing anyone wants to discuss is politics or religion. Centuries of authoritarian Christianity and Muslim faiths came to a head in the twentieth century and the beginning of the new millennium. Many have recused themselves from any doctrine, turning to a more cultured form of humanism. At the same time, others have found solace within a way of life-based more upon being good to others and, most importantly yourself.
While many of us only know of this way of life as a fictional world from long, long ago, many have taken up the moniker of the Jedi.
Our question is, what is this way of life, and can a film based on the hero's journey give us a better way to live?

Anxiety- We all have experienced it. Most people endure this emotion easily. Paul and Andrea have an interesting topic for everyone this week. So, hold on to your butts. Jeremy Pauley, a self-proclaimed “Collector of Oddities,” thought purchasing human remains through Facebook would be a great idea. Pennsylvania authorities, needless to say, aren’t too keen on this and arrested Pauley. Upon investigating, Pennsylvania police - with help from the F.B.I. – discovered that multiple buckets of human organs, skin, and bones came from Little Rock, Arkansas. The question we raise is Why? These parts belonged to someone. How can you even mail human remains?

In two thousand fourteen, two young women decided to give a sacrifice of a close friend to the entity known as slender-man. This fictional character appeared on the creepypasta website in 2009 for a photoshop contest. Slender-man is depicted as a faceless man with unnaturally long arms standing between six and fifteen feet tall. Many tales following the posting of the picture to creepypasta have created backstories that turn into evil or are designed to bring hope to those who feel isolated. While most of us recognize these tales of the slender man are nothing more than fiction intended to entice our imaginations. These two pre-teen girls believed that Slender-Man was real.
Anissa and her best friend Morgan lured Payton, otherwise known as Bella by those who know her, to an isolated park in Waukesha, Wisconsin and stabbed her 19 times, leaving her for dead. All to appease the Slender-man.
Morgan was sentenced to forty years in a mental hospital after being diagnosed with schizophrenia and delusions. Her accomplice Anissa was recently released in twenty-twenty one with an ankle monitor and an order to never have contact with Bella or her family until twenty-thirty-nine.
The question that seems most important in my mind is why no one saw signs of these two young women and the obsession with, and what might be considered religious theology, this fictional character - the Slender-Man.
Autism is a serious thing. What kind of education is provided for those afflicted with it? What is the social impact for mild cases and where do we go from here?

Making your film is not a singular effort. Everyone around you knows what makes a movie great. Make sure you listen to them.
Wait, what?! Yes, if you are an actor, director, cinematographer or anyone that wants to work on a Movie or Television, you need to count your blessings that you get to work, even if it's for free. We all need to make our reels as current as we can and that means we have to work for free to get that paid gig we are working for.
Plus, you never know when that director's stuff is going to hit or who he’s trying to sell it to. Spielberg or Tom Hanks may get to see your talent sending your career into the stratosphere. Or, you can not do it and guarantee they will never get to see you shine.
Monologues are a staple of every new actors tool kit. The best way to nail that audition is to get it as close to who you are as possible when you are just beginning your career.
