Tarot Emblemata is a magical and mystical tarot deck based on the 1551 book of emblems by Claude Paradin. Renaissance emblems are intimate illustrations with accompanying mottos that allegorically and symbolically express sentiments, concepts, societal concerns, and parables. These Renaissance emblems are a didactic genre of interpretive art and, within them, author and creator Nitasia Roland has discovered that their enigmatic imagery and “mottos” correspond dynamically and align perfectly with the seventy cards of the Major and Minor Arcana of the tarot.
Among the many ancient and iconic images this deck portrays—plumes, helmets, swords, gemstone rings, coins, wands, clouds, wreaths, flowers, animals, and trees—Roland sees the evolution of tarot’s wands, swords, cups, and coins, as well as evocative glimmers of the Major Arcana archetypes. Both secular and religious, Renaissance emblems were meant to crystallize virtue or vice and cover every sphere of early modern knowledge: ethics, natural philosophy, politics, science, religion, love, war, and everyday life, very much in the same way that modern tarot imagery provides insight and clarity today.
The Tarot Emblemata deck will help readers expand on their path of embodiment, spiritual gnosis, inspired destiny, and empowerment. The accompanying guidebook presents tarot interpretations and elucidations on the symbolism of the emblems. Tarot Emblemata features a ribbon lift and gilded cards. It is an accessible deck for beginners and those familiar with the Rider-Waite-Smith system, while more experienced readers will enjoy a new and refreshing perspective.

Chatting today with Kashena Sampson all about music and witchcraft!
Nashville artist Kashena Sampson will release her powerful new album, Ghost Of Me, on October 3rd. Born of shadow work and transformation, Ghost Of Me tells a testament of survival, personal discovery, and resilience. Rolling Stone has said her music evokes "the best of Seventies folk," and she has drawn a lot of comparisons to Stevie Nicks. This time, though, she digs deep beneath the surface to explore new territory, summoning her childhood influences (like Mazzy Star, Björk, and the Pixies).
Besides being a singer-songwriter, Kashena is a tarot reader and practitioner - she was raised in a non-religious Jewish household with mother who taught her about Kabbalah and herbalism. The family didn’t have a television, so Kashena’s profound creativity blossomed at a very early age. Always drawn to witchcraft, her very first job was at an occult/esoteric bookstore. Her practice has been instrumental in her success on her sobriety path, and her commitment to shadow work has changed her life. Her songs are spell work, and her music is enchanting.
Her album release is a lunar journey: the album and single releases are structured like a ritual under the phases of the moon - a cycle of letting go, calling in, and rising again.

"I was curled on the floor, my body swallowed by nausea so deep it felt ancient. Fear flooded every cell, building like a tidal wave I couldn’t outrun. My mind whispered, “You might not survive this”. And then, in the absolute darkness, something clicked. I stopped resisting. I breathed through the terror, opened my heart, and let it consume me.
That night, I learned the greatest spiritual truth: fear is not something to fight, it’s something to love.
This became the foundation of my work with Intuitive Rebirth, where I now guide healers and seekers to meet their deepest shadows with unwavering love, transforming fear into freedom."

Welcoming back Lalania to the podcast today! Wise Earth Medicine Tarot endeavors to simplify the mysteries of the tarot and ground it in the natural world. Drawing upon Lalania Simone’s indigenous ancestral knowledge, this beautiful deck presents the tarot as a form of earth medicine. Focusing on the animistic realm, this tarot deck and guidebook takes us on an internal vision quest where we learn the wisdom of all natural things.
Each of the seventy-eight cards features three keywords on the front for instant access to the traditional tarot meanings. The four suits have been renamed according to their element rather than their symbol, which further enhances the deck’s connection to nature: water rather than cups, fire rather than wands, wind rather than swords, and earth rather than pentacles. The ninety-six-page full-color booklet includes the traditional tarot meanings as well as an oracle-style message. The message presents “the medicine,” a word used in indigenous spiritual traditions to refer to the spiritual healing power with which each animal or plant is endowed.

In the flow of healing waters and the urgent cry of the Earth, we hear the voice of the Celtic mother goddess Modron, also known as Matrona. A goddess of fertility, abundance and healing, but also of grief and loss and ancestral wisdom, she is still present, although hidden, in today's world. We find her myths in the tales of the Mabinogi, the Welsh Triads and modern tales of Avalon, and her image and veneration in the ancient religions of Celtic Gaul, where she first emerged as a river goddess.
We can trace echoes of her in ancient Indo-European texts and possibly even further back to the agricultural myths of the Neolithic. She is even present in the stars. Modron - Meeting the Celtic Mother Goddess takes a deep dive into this often overlooked goddess who has inspired our modern myths, combining solid academic research with suggestions for personal practice and ritual, from a modern day dedicant and scholar of Goddess veneration. Modron is emerging from the depths. Will you answer her Call?

Welcoming back Danielle today for a conversation about fairy tales as living, breathing repositories of ancient wisdom and magick.
In The Night House: Folklore, Fairy Tales, Rites, and Magick for the Wise and Wild, bestsellingauthor and word-witch Danielle Dulskypeels back the layers of these timeless narratives to reveal their potent role as guides for navigating today’s world. Rich with insight and a deep reverence for the ancestral art of storytelling, Dulsky’s latest work reclaims the hidden power of fairy tales as spell books, treasure chests, and sacred rites.
Historically kept and transmitted by women, fairy tales are distinguishable from other types of folk tales for their magickal and supernatural elements, and because of this, they were often dismissed as trivial domestic fantasies for women and children. The Night House illuminates how this marginalization kept these stories safe from the witch-hunter’s noose and allowed women to safely store and transmit their ancient and sacred wisdom.
Each of The Night House’s nine chapters is a door to an otherworldly realm, unveiling the spiritual and practical magick embedded in tales like “Little Red Riding Hood “and “Cinderella.” By decoding their “glamour spells” and ancestral rites, Dulksy offers a path for readers to reconnect with the Earth, their ancestors, and their own spirits. Mythic images and Jungian universal archetypes arise, and “old ways” are made visible, revealing the call to continue the medicinal work of story keeping for the modern world.

She connects readers to the wildcrafting elements of plants and natural remedies, realigning the soul to the vibrations of the spiritual ecosystem to reconnect with the Earth and all her spirits. Weaving together Morris’s personal witchcraft gnosis, Celtic Hedge Witchery focuses on embracing the shadows within ourselves as a reflection of sacred spaces. Today I'm chatting with Davezilla about tech, the internet/apps, AI, and their place in witchcraft.
Magical AI Grimoire helps you to understand how to work with technology in the practice of your magic. Whether you’re trying to use promptcraft to perfect a spell, ChatGPT to outline and strengthen a ritual, or Midjourney AI to recreate what you’ve only seen on the astral plane, Davezilla will be your guide. AI apps can write spells, tell you how to perform them, and give you a list of materials needed. AI learns and adapts to you, and likewise as you transform, so transforms your AI. It’s symbiosis on a chaos magic level.
Witches and magicians have been using computers to organize sabbats and ceremonies for years. Astrology apps were some of the first applications written, and in most covens, it’s a good bet that at least one of the members works with computers. All across the globe, witches and magicians are finding that technology can have a spiritual essence and mind of its own or, rather, that the spirit world enjoys playing with tech as much as we do. The internet could be one more astral plane, for all we know. Davezilla provides context and history for the evolving uses of AI—from Alexa to Spotify to ChatGPT and beyond—and leads the reader through a new magical realm with responsibility and clarity of insight.

Chatting today about so many topics with author Raven Digitalis, including navigating the world as an empath and his latest work of fiction, Black Magick.
Darkness is interpretive. It’s in our nature to explore the shadows. Through the 13 stories presented in Black Magick, the reader is transported into mysterious settings that blur the line between fiction and reality. Renowned writers have contributed their expert tales to this collection, including Storm Constantine, Tracy Cross, and even Edgar Allan Poe. Each story uniquely integrates occultism and magick, deepening the mysteries of the shadow. By acknowledging darkness through the written medium, we can better come to terms with the darkness within ourselves. And when we explore the darker aspects of life, we more accurately come to know what it means to be human.

A chat all about crystals today! In his newest work and full-color guide, crystal healing teacher Nicholas Pearson shows how crystals are ideally suited for confronting negative energies and providing enduring protection as he demonstrates how to partner with the mineral kingdom for protection, cleansing, and countermagick.
In the realm of protection, Pearson explores passive approaches—such as psychic shields, jewelry, and carrying gemstones—as well as more active practices—such as spells, meditations, and rituals. He shares magickal techniques for warding your home, vehicle, and work space and for counteracting geopathic stress, EMF pollution, and ill-wishing from those around you. To combat and neutralize psychic attack, he examines the necessary yet challenging territory of binding, banishing, reversal, curse-breaking, and exorcism, sharing crystal spells, grid layouts, and rituals for spirit release. He also looks at special techniques aimed at strengthening the boundaries of empaths and highly sensitive people.
The author’s in-depth directory of 145 of crystals and gemstones describes the uses of the most powerful and effective traditional gems and stones as well as more recent additions to the healer’s tool kit, teaching you everything you need to know to protect yourself and recover from psychic and magickal attacks.

Witch Blood Rising is a celebration of the ways that witchcraft has stubbornly kept itself alive in Western culture—and a call to action for all seekers who yearn for a witch’s life.
Growing up in an endless sea of California suburbs, where sacred groves and wise women only existed in movies, Asa West spent her childhood chasing visions she didn’t understand. When she found a guide to witchcraft in a tiny bookshop, she knew she’d found her calling—despite a patriarchal society’s efforts to keep her away from a life of mysticism.
But it’s not easy to awaken your witch blood in a culture that laughs at magic and renders women powerless. Although the market abounds with practical guides to witchcraft, it’s harder to find books that chronicle the art of living a witch’s life. Asa West uses her almost thirty years of magical practice to bring warmth, humor, and insight to a spiritual path that's at once immeasurably ancient and continually reborn. She explores all the ways that witchcraft rises up from the blood of its devotees and through subjects like the online herbalism industry, Marvel movies, witch-hunting manuals, bee priestesses, and tarot.

I'm chatting today with Lalania Simone about Lalania's newest deck, Tarot of the Cosmic Seed.
In an effort to decolonize the tarot, remove outdated ideas of hierarchy, and shift ingrained gender norms, Lalania, founder of Alchemy Ritual Goods, has created a lush and vibrant deck with unique imagery and symbolism and an array of people and cultures. Having renamed the royalty cards—including the Hierophant, Emperor, Empress, and the court cards—Lalania has expanded their interpretation into energy signatures rather than personality types. The result is a deeply diverse spiritual tool, a bridge to the mysterious and the esoteric, as well as a guide to the everyday. Using the Rider-Waite-Smith tradition as a foundation, this deck offers a twist: there is a twenty-third card added to the Major Arcana—The Cosmic Seed, a representative of us all as infinite, cosmic spirits, enmeshed in sacred flesh for a time on this Earth.

Today I'm joined by author Coby Michael to chat about poison plants and their potential use within your witchcraft practice.
Examining the art and science of working with noxious and malefic plants and fungi, Coby Michael discusses the occult properties of poison and how poison plants can be used in spell work and other magical operations. He looks at the plants of Fate and the divination practices they support, love magic with poison plants, shadow work, the devil’s garden, and the use of nightshades as power plants for medicine and magic. Presenting a detailed formulary, he shares rituals, magical correspondences, and recipes for working with specific poison plant allies and other baneful herbs of occult herbalism.
Exploring the path of dark herbalism, the author explains how it encompasses not only veneficium—poisonous plants and fungi—but all plants that humanity has tried to forget, from “invasive” plants and those we can’t domesticate to those that have been regulated arbitrarily or simply feared as “toxic” or “poison.” He shows how the dark herbalist seeks out plants that are adversarial or taboo because the qualities we consider “dark” are really the plant’s spiritual medicine and can offer powerful wisdom and healing. Examining poison history, lore, and occult toxicology, he explains how the aim of using these plants is not to cause physical death, but rather death of the ego. He shows how “poison” in this sense is an alchemical force that allows the practitioner to become a vessel for the forbidden fruit of knowledge and how the transmutation of our personal poisons can lead to powerful self-transformation.

Cressida Stone, author of Secrets of Santa Muerte, is an English writer. The author leads a double life as a British doctor of anthropology trained in classic methods at the University of Oxford, while also moving in occult circles as Cressida Stone, publishing grimoires on Santa Muerte, practicing witchcraft, and reading tarot cards for the wealthy elite, the disenfranchised, and sicarios alike. She has apprenticed in Mexico with brujos (witches) and shamans of Santa Muerte at temples to the Saint of Death, learning their ways of working with the folk saint. She embraces a non-dualistic philosophy of life and death.
Stone's book Secrets of Santa Muerte has been praised by Jason Miller, author of Consorting with Spirits, as "the most complete workbook I have found in English on the subject". Stone also received endorsements from numerous famous Mexican Santa Muerte witches and leaders, including Yuri Mendez, Bruja of the Three Virtues, who attests that "Cressida Stone has deep knowledge of the spirituality of Santa Muerte. She has traveled across Mexico where the roots of devotion to the Saint of Death truly originate. She honors our faith and shares the teachings of Santa Muerte clearly, aiding people to respectfully venerate and learn correctly about Santisima Muerte. This is because Cressida has been to those special places where devotion to Holy Death is deep and true.”

It's such a joy to be joined today by author Amy Blackthorn! We're chatting about her history in witchcraft and her new book, Sacred Plant Magic. But I couldn't help myself, as an avid reader of all of Amy's books, to ask about some of her other works as well. You'll definitely learn a lot in this very fun episode.
Buy the Book: https://redwheelweiser.com/book/blackthorns-book-of-sacred-plant-magic-9781578638307/
Renowned herbalist Amy Blackthorn shows readers how to bring plant spirits into their daily spiritual practice with therapeutic access, subconscious learning, and divining skills that help them understand plant spirits on a deeper level.
Blackthorn’s Botanical Magic showed a new generation of witches how scent affects people, whether they understand it or not. In Blackthorn’s Book of Sacred Plant Magic, we travel even deeper into the magical garden of scent. We know that a walk down a summer street can bring back the smell of childhood summers with friends, riding bikes and swimming. Spring breezes carry with them the clean soapy smell of your second-grade teacher. We experience scents not only in the here and now but also filtered through the lens of our past. Using the power of scent, we can create a sense of the sacred in our daily lives. Part reference guide, part recipe book, and part ritual journey, Blackthorn’s Book of Sacred Plant Magic offers readers an in-depth exploration of the vital connection between scents and magical practice.
Amy Blackthorn is a professional intuitive and the bestselling author of several books on botanical magic, including Blackthorn’s Botanical Magic, Blackthorn’s Botanical Brews, and Blackthorn’s Botanical Wellness. The founder of Blackthorn’s Botanicals, she has a certification in aromatherapy and was ordained by the Order of the Golden Gryphon. Amy lives in Delaware. It is a compendium of useful tools and perspectives designed to serve as one of many useful guides in the magician’s library.
David Shoemaker is a clinical psychologist in private practice, specializing in Jungian and cognitive behavioral psychotherapy. I'm joined today by author George Lizos to chat about the ancient Greek pantheon and the transition into modern day Greek mysticism.
SECRETS OF GREEK MYSTICISM is the first spiritual book about the Greek gods and goddesses written by a native, practicing priest of Hellenic Polytheism. Rather than presenting the gods and goddesses as symbolic, lifeless figures, Secrets of Greek Mysticism teaches readers how to find each god or goddess within them. This is achieved by explaining the deeper spiritual meaning of popular myths and through grounding insights on the gods’ virtues as they relate to modern life: practicing bravery with Ares, cultivating endurance with Demeter, and embodying love with Aphrodite.

She has creatively worked with tarot for over twenty years and considers herself an eternal student of life, and thus the tarot. Her community program, Antiracist Tarot Society, is inspired by her belief that the end result of all magic should be to cultivate a more equitable and empathetic planet.Tarot for the Hard Work is a provocative exploration of the twenty-two cards of the Major Arcana that re envisions these archetypes as beacons that illuminate the various ways racism takes root both in ourselves and in the world. Author Maria Minnis, with compassion and wisdom, shows us how these insights can be turned into self-awareness, self-love, and positive social action. In Tarot for the Hard Work you’ll explore the Major Arcana to uncover how each card highlights both benevolent and shadow aspects of each archetype in relation to the different ways that racism shows up in our lives. With exercises and thought-provoking recommended reading and resources, you will be guided how to use those themes to dismantle internalized racism, racism in your relationships, and racism in your communities. Journal prompts are provided to help you create your own antiracism tool kit. The playful, psychedelic illustrations are meant to situate users in the transformative magic of Pluto, and representations of the planet’s many archetypes as shadow puppets infuse the deck with a whimsicality that counterbalances the intensity of the practice.
