Having hosted the second Presidential Debate in 2016, WashU students were able to see the machinations of the election first hand. The team speaks with the Dean of Students Rob Wild Political Science Professor Steve Smith to look into student life in the context of the election and the response to the unexpected victory of President Trump.
One of the most pivottal issues underlying this administration is it’s approach to gender equity and sexual harassment. The team in this episode explores activism on campus with Bihotza James-Lehacequi, a current Freshman and talks the #MeToo movement and WashU’s response with Kim Webb, Director of the Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention Center.
The team works through why the Midterm elections of 2018 were a different beast than 2016 and reflect on the Democratic Primary Cycle. We re-welcome Political Science Professor Steve Smith to share some insights on the midterms and administration.
