Soy is the poster child for pseudo health foods. High in protein, low in saturated fat and supposedly has the ability to feed the world. What health conscious, eco-activist wouldn’t want soy on their plate?
An educated one.
For a decade, I’ve been warning people on the dangers of soy. Recently I was putting together a chapter on Soy for my new book when I found myself continuing to refer to the seminal text on soy, The Whole Soy Story, by Kaayla Daniel.
Kaayla published this book in 2005, and now 15 years on, the book and her work is still referred to when anyone in the know enters a conversation about Soy. I consider her to be the industries leading authority on the topic and she’s been on my ‘hit-list’ to interview since 2010.
So 10 years on, finally, I bring to you a conversation with Kaayla Daniel, author of The Whole Soy Story, The Dark Side of America’s Favourite Health Food.
In this interview we cover:
Thoughts on COVID19 The Fermented Cod Liver Oil fiasco Her falling out with the Weston Price Foundation Problems with Soy High Phytoestrogens/Isoflavones Phytic acid (affects mineral absorption) Mould (from storage of mass produced soy) Genetically Modified Glyphosate Industrial farmed which practices are bad for the environment

Hypnotherapist Forest Toime talks to Wolf’s Den host, Mark Ottobre at Enterprise Fitness on emotional eating, bingeing and food related behaviours. They discuss the cause behind comfort eating and how to resolve diet related issues by working through significant emotional experiences from the past, especially during childhood.
You will learn about comfort food and exactly what the pizza, chocolate and ice cream are; emotional coping mechanisms, because food makes everything better, right?
Although these scenarios are so common, it doesn’t mean it’s a healthy habit.
You’re self sabotaging your health and body composition through emotionally eating behaviours. These habits tend to be covering up a deeper issue, most likely stemming from past experiences.
Watch the full episode to uncover why you continue to yo-yo in and out of diets, and why you end up binge eating every week.
An adult conversation between a meat-eater and a vegan?! Watch plant-based thought leader, Jeremy Evans and Mark Ottobre do the impossible in our new Wolf’s Den podcast episode. We discuss the issues with debates and documentaries such as The Game-Changers, the pros and cons of veganism, and if you’re looking to go plant-based, how to wean yourself off meat the healthy way.
Powerlifting coach to 3 of the strongest females in Australia, Gus Cooke joins us in the Wolf’s Den to share his secrets to coaching the elite. Join Mark Ottobre, Founder and Owner of Enterprise Fitness and co-host, Enterprise Coach Adrian Faranda, in the Wolf’s Den for epic chats on training, mindset and perfecting the squat technique.

I’ve been doing this a while. Putting out content, making videos, blogging and vibing with our audience.
Over the years there’s always been this ‘one topic’ that I wanted to discuss that I could never bring myself to do… It’s the S word in Fitness…
Steroids.
Then one day, Dr. Mathew Dunn, senior lecturer at Deakin University walked through the doors of Enterprise Fitness. His focus of research for the past 15 years; performance enhancing drugs and the S word.
So I asked Matt if he would join me for an episode of the Wolf’s Den where we dive deep into the world of drugs, discussing everything from doping in professional sport, decriminalising drugs and of course, steroids.
Full disclosure:
I’ve never taken steroids or any performance enhancing drugs. In my 20’s, training at meat-head gyms, I saw many young guys double in size within weeks of getting on the juice. I was tempted however, I made a deal with myself; I would only ever seriously contemplate using when I was 30, after at least 10-15 years of training hard and eating well. At the time I figured, I wasn’t in a rush and didn’t know enough about training to make full use of them (and looking back, I was 100% right).
Over that period I saw many guys struggle getting off, from getting their testosterone back, to struggling to deal with how they looked and felt post cycle. Going from raging testosterone to that of a 3 year old girl wasn’t as fun as it seemed long term.
It put me off.
But regardless, when I turned 30, I still gave myself the option and made another deal with myself; no considering steroids until my baby making was done. One of the known side effects of steroids is shooting blanks.
Now with two kids- and well into my 30’s, I have absolutely no desire to start a cycle. Frankly, at this stage of life, the potential consequences outweigh the benefits. I train to keep strong, healthy and lean- I don’t need them to achieve my goals. I’m content with incremental progress and not being a 100 kilo monster at 5% body-fat.
I say all this because when it comes to this topic, very few in the fitness industry are willing to have an adult conversation, and that’s exactly what Dr. Dunn and I do in this episode of the Wolf’s Den.
We don’t shame people who might have dabbled in performance enhancing drugs, or even try to sway your thinking, we simply discuss what the research shows, and if you do intend to use, the health and mental considerations you should plan for (AKA. Start by speaking to your doctor).
This conversation is intended to be an open, honest, and intellectual discussion about drugs, steroids and performance enhancers. One I think you’d find interesting and offer a new perspective based in academic research.
Shout out to Dr. Dunn who does an amazing job navigating this minefield of a topic.

Does it exist?

In this episode of the Wolfs Den, Mark Ottobre sits down with Ben Cant, an intellectual and physical power house. They get into all kinds of deep deep discussions around physiology, blood markers, using lab testing for better health and body composition and much, much more.

Sometimes you have to take risks meeting people…
So I invited Australian Strength Coach, Sebastian Oreb, Powerlifting influencer (200k+ followers) and one strong dude to speak at Wolfpack and into the Wolf’s Den.
I though it would be fun to make little Sebastian faces and give them to the audience… And by faces I mean, I found a photo of Seb deadlifting 300+ kilos, where his eyes where about to pop out of his head because he was lifting so much weight- and I gave that to our audience members.
I was supposed to brief him before he arrived but his flight got delayed. So we started the show…
Well… you can watch what happened here…
I’m just glad he found it funny too.. Sebastian is seriously strong!
Jokes aside, this was a great interview. We tease out methods, techniques and strategies to getting freakishly strong.

https://personaltrainermentoring.com/ Ask Charles Poliquin; Interview with the worlds most successful strength coach
This podcast is proudly brought to you by www.maximusmark.com and enterprise fitness.
Hey, hey folks,
It’s Maximus Mark and welcome to the show that punches you in the face with information,
But in a good way its Maximus Mark radio…
And today is like Christmas day; I am interviewing Charles Poliquin!
Charles is hailed as the worlds most successful strength coach, having trained and consulted with Olympic gold medallists, celebrities and actors, royalty and is leading the way in strength, nutrition and supplementation education…
I am proud to say I am one of Charles students, and it is a pleasure to welcome the man, Charles Poliquin to the show…
Welcome Charles!
How did you become the world’s most successful strength coach?
Obviously after all these years; you are no longer needing to work for money, fame or recognition; so now, what motivates or inspires you to get up in the morning and do what you do? 2. A) Why push yourself to come up with better supplement formulas and protocols?
If you were to start all over again; what’s 1 thing you wish you knew then that you know now?
In class, you said that you have lost everything twice… How does did you bounce back … twice?
For the benefit of the listener; can you speak about what BioSignature is and how it works?
So how did you develop the method?
What do you see as being the next big trend in the fitness industry?
Now you’re an advocate of the paleo diet but you also don’t recommend fasting, and encourage the use of post work shakes with carbs added in. However these dietary habits aren’t specifically paleo. My question is, were do you draw the line between paleo nutrition and bodybuilding/optimal body comp nutrition?
Adrenal Fatigue; very common in the bodybuilding and figure world, I see people who have or about to have adrenal fatigue. What are some steps that they can do today to pick themselves up out of their slump?
What are 2 must read books on the topic of exercise and training?
Andrew Lock Questions
Intro
Welcome to The Wolfs Den. My names Mark Ottobre and my job is to breakdown the world of health, fitness and performance. My guest today is Andrew Lock.
Andrew is one of the worlds most sought after rehab professionals for athletes. His been on a lifelong quest pursuing excellence in rehabilitation.
If I read out just a few of his achievements, Andrew is
Accredited in the McKenzie Spinal Method
Completed his Masters degree in 2004, studying the resolution of intervertebral disc injuries.
His a Convenor of Australian Strength Scientists Association (ASSA).
The Coordinator “Ultimate Strength Summit” at the Arnold Sports Festival Australia 2019
A IFBB Pro League Judge
A Current Bench Press Australian AND World Record Holder
And the owner Functional Strength Rehabilitation which has clients all over the world. Andrew had advised and consulted with a diverse range of athletes including members of the Australian Cricket Team, Major League Baseball, Bodybuilders, football, MMA, and athletes in all Strength Sports.
I’ve know him over over 10 years, and love having him in teach and educate both the team here at Enterprise and the students at Wolfpack, so its my pleasure to welcome Dr. Andrew Lock!
-
Its great to have you on, were probably going to jump around today with a few different topics, but were I would love to start is; How much do you bench?
-
Now thats out the way, tell me your journey into physiotherapy?
How did you get to become a physio? Why?
Would you describe yourself as a regular physio? Why/why not? What do you do differently? What do others overlook?
What do you think is the biggest myth in physiotherapy? 3 a). What’s the prevailing lie you feel that gets repeated in traditional physio education?
(Note: if not discussed, prompt; Is it 80% of injury reoccur after the first 4 weeks? and 80% are resolved if they do nothing?)
Let's talk Pilates; who was Joseph Pilates and what happened in the Federal court of America?
Switching gears to something similar to this, the Kettle swing. It has been deemed as ‘bad” by some strength coaches. What are they missing?
So what is the worst thing you can do for a back?
Audience ask; does anyone here have lower back pain? Let get them up…
So question for you; using the humble bodyweight squat as an assessment, we can see that this guy tucks his hips under, which would indicate his abs are too weak. if we give him something to counterbalance, the issue goes away. Is it as simple as that, or what are we missing here? What else should we be looking for?
Now you’ve studied world champion deadlifters, what’s the commonality you found?
(Note: if not addressed, ask about fishing hook spine and vertical tibias)
You’ve rehabbed shoulders using the bench press? That’s counter intuitive - how does that work?
a) What’s your current best bench? What have you done differently to achieve that level? -Side questions if needed - incline, rotators etc
What’s the worse injury you’ve seen and the recovery?
http://personaltrainermentoring.com/ Mark Ottobre interviews Tony Doherty on the Wolf's Den. Tony and Mark talk about business, life, the Arnold Classic and so much more in this interview. A MUST LISTEN to get a stay motivated in business and smash your goals!
Bob Guiel - Advanced Detoxification - Enterprise Fitness Podcast
Bob Guiel and Mark Ottobre
Its Enterprise Fitness Podcast,
And today I will be speaking with Michael McEvoy from Metabolic Healing about a number of health issues including gut and digestion, adrenal health, the myth of acid and alkaline nutrition along with whole lot of stuff you have probably never thought of when it comes to why we get sick!
We are also going to look at what steps you can take today towards diagnosing, healing and supporting those functions.
Michael is a Certified Nutritional Consultant through the American Association of Nutritional Consultants. Michael is a Certified Metabolic Typing Advisor through William Wolcott’s Metabolic Typing Institute. He is also a Functional Diagnostic Nutritionist through the Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Institute.
I’m super psyched about todays show, so Michael, welcome to the show!
Tell me how you got started as a health care practitioner?
What is it that you specialise in?
Let talk adrenal health, how do you diagnose someone who has poor adrenal health?
Can you talk a little bit about the 3 stages of adrenal fatigue?
I have a facebook question from Trevor – Trev asks – how does caffeine affect adrenal health?
And emma Verlato askes, does caffeine affect the gut?
How would you rectify adrenal health for someone?
Poor digestion often goes undiagnosed - how do you diagnose someone with poor digestion?
What do you do to support digestive problems?
Do you recommend supplements, if so, what supplements do you recommend and why (for general health?)
can you tell me about the The Myth of Acid/Alkaline Nutrition ?
"whats the difference between Functional Healthcare vs. Pathological, Allopathic Healthcare
"What is the best way to develop an effective nutrition system for any person?
Final thoughts?
How can people get in touch with you?
John Demartini is a renown author and speaker, he has literally touched millions of people across the globe with his work. He is considered one of the worlds leading authorities on human behaviour and personal development.
Today we have the pleasure of speaking to John about health and the mind. Some say disease and health are all in our mind and manifestations of us not living true to our values… today you will be treated to an insight by a very amazing man…
With that said, I would like to welcome Dr. John Demartini to the show, welcome John!
Hi John, its Mark Ottobre here, how you doing?
thank you so much for coming on the show today, your work has made a profound impact on my life, so I am really looking forward to sharing your knowledge and wisdom with all my listeners and readers today…
So lets get into it…
I have heard you talk about the mind and bodies relationship before… I believe in one of your programs, Prophecy 2 you talk all about the manifestations of the mind and body is that right?
Can the mind really heal the body?
Something that you taught me… There are parts of our body that we will despise and love …we will never get rid of this; what can people do to overcome the fantasy of trying to be perfect?
There seems to be so much more sickness and disease today than there was 50 or 60 years ago… What do you think this is related to?
You have spoken about people with diabetes have a bitterness and people with hyperglycaemia have a “sweetness”. Can you explain what is meant by this?
What are things like anorexia or body dysmorphia linked to emotionally?
Do think people gain benefits from being sick… ?
You have spoken about cancer many times, what behaviourally themes have you found with cancer patients… e.g Black and White thinking?
a) Do you think this is true even with children?

Enterprise Fitness Podcast - Mark Ottobre Interviews Bruce Jones
Hey-Hey Folks,
Today’s podcast is one for the ages. I can guarantee you will not find a better article or podcast about heavy metals and chelation therapy anywhere else on the web. Why?
Because today I present to you “The Guy” on heavy metals, chelation and detoxification, Dr. Bruce Jones from the National Institute of Integrative medicine.

However with that said, if you’ve been reading my blog for some time now, your obviously smarter than the average bear so you will have no problem digesting this great info!
In the health, fitness and wellness game there is a heck of a lot of opinions…Today’s podcast is not based on opinion, popular science or supplement sales. It’s the cold hard truth about how to detox heavy metals packaged in a neat hour-long podcast Enterprise style.
This show includes answers to the following questions:
• What is heavy metal toxicity and best methods of testing • What to do if you have dental amalgams • Common sources of heavy metals • What supplements and protocols to use for safe and effective heavy metal detoxification • Plus much, much more
Dr. Bruce Jones Bio
Dr Jones graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1980. Following three years working in the public hospital system he worked in General Practice for many years, where he specialized in counselling and chronic pain management.

Bruce presently serves as Senior Lecturer in Integrative Medicine at the National Institute of Integrative Medicine in East Hawthorn and is a member of the International Society of Nephrology.
We were lucky enough to have Dr. Jones at our Seminar were he blew the minds of all the participants when he dropped massive truth bombs about the affects of heavy metals and just how to detoxify them. Today I get to share Bruce’s knowledge with everyone who has an Internet connection.
Enjoy the podcast!
Check out http://www.melbournepersonaltrainers.com/ if you need help with your training, nutrition and supplementation plan.

Jonny Bowden, The Rogue Nutritionist Unplugged: How To Eat & Think Yourself Healthy
Guest Speaker: Jonny Bowden, author of 9 best selling books including Living Low Carb and 150 Healthiest Foods on Earth
In this interview we cover:
• Jonnys journey into Health and Nutrition • Why people struggle with weight loss • What to do about feeling guilty about food • What healthy people have in common • Jonny’s 4 food groups • How to reprogram your mind for health • The one thing you need to stop eating
How did you get in to teaching health and nutrition?
Who have been your biggest influences in health and nutrition?
Everyone kind of ‘knows’ what to eat, but why do you think people still choose the wrong foods?
Why do you think so many people struggle with weight loss?
A lot of people ‘feel’ guilty for eating certain foods… Now I encourage my clients and listeners to eliminate all guilt entirely as it relates to food… What are your thoughts on guilt and food… I mean why do you think so many people have guilt associated with many foods?
A lot of people say they want to lose weight or if their savvy enough, they say they want to be lean. How do you help clients uncover their subconscious motivations for being exactly the way they currently are?
After you uncover those subconscious motivations & the client decides they'd like to shift their mindset to break the associations keeping them where they are, how do assist clients to shift their mindsets to give them the results they desire?
To what extent does our mindset influence our health? I mean as an example; Can we eat junk and think ourselves lean as much as we can nourish ourselves with a good clean diet, train like mad and still think ourselves fat?
Lets do this scenario, a 34 year old female with 2 kids walks into your office, she is 20 kilos overweight and she has been struggling with weight her whole life… What is the mindset shift that she needs to make?
How would you describe your health and nutrition philosophy?
What do healthy people have in common?
How can someone re-program their minds for health?
If you told someone to stop eating any one food, what would it be?
Were do you see the state of the worlds food supply going?
Can you tell me about your new program; http://naturalhealthsherpa.com/unleash/video/foreverthin
How can people learn more about you?

Today, on the Enterprise Fitness Podcast, we had the pleasure of interviewing Lierre Keith, author of the book The Vegetarian Myth, which is not just about vegetarianism, but the whole farming and agricultural system.
Lierre spent a whopping 20 years as a vegetarian; her actual experience with vegetarianism is why many consider her to be the world’s leading authority on vegetarianism and its problems (20 years is an enough time to know if something works).
Lierre has always stood for justice and compassion, and after writing The Vegetarian Myth, she has been able to study the broader picture of the world’s food supply. She definitely has some of the answers with regards to what should be done with our farming and food. A very important topic for any one who eats!

In this episode of the Enterprise Fitness Podcast, the roles are reversed... Instead of bringing on a guest as an interviewee, we opened the floor to our listeners - with the opportunity to ask Mark, owner and founder of Enterprise, anything!
... And the lucky winner is Richard!
Richard has been training at Enterprise Fitness for quite a while now, and he's an absolute gun in the gym.
As a student in the acting industry, he has raised some great questions on:
The importance to have your own style How to be confident in a world where people will judge and scrutinise you, What to do when doubt creeps in and you start to doubt and question yourself. How does one go about building up their one unique profile in a world where originalist is hard to come by? Where do you draw the line between looking up to someone as a role model, and unconsciously trying to become an exact carbon copy of that person, at the risk of losing your own identity? Listen in as we will be delving deep into these topics, and teach you how to overcome the oddswhen everything (or everyone) seems to be standing in your way.
One more thing...

Reece Adams interviews Christian Maurice who is one of the go to guys in the Hollywood movie industry working with actors, stuntmen and directors.
The biggest take home point Reece personally took away from his chat with Christian was the importance of listening to your clients and not just assuming an answer. Christian spoke about always digging deeper to better understand where your client is currently at emotional, mentally and physically. To quote Christian directly…
“Questionnaires are good but actually asking your client face to face is better”
Why?
Because people will usually only write down the average standard of their week nutritionally… And this is only scratching the surface the gems Christian shares with Reece in this Enterprise exclusive hour long episode of the Enterprise Podcast.
