When bombarded with bad news where can we look to find hope and confidence? God's Word gives us a picture to assure us amidst any struggle, crisis, or setback.

We start a new series on discipleship and we will be following the life of Peter in the gospels to do so. We begin with the disciples' call. Jesus doesn't make mistakes when he makes us his own. He knows you fully and he has great things in store for you.
How does the gospel give us grit to face whatever may come? Paul uses his testimony to teach us three ways we are made tough by the gospel of Jesus Christ.
"Blessed are the peace makers for they shall be called children of God." What does it mean to be a peacemaker? The Book of Philemon shows us the three ways we are called to make peace in the gospel. Who do you need to make peace with?
We live in between conversion and glory, i.e. the middle. The middle can be a hard place full of dry times and setbacks. How do we make it through the middle? Jesus gives us a Helper who takes us all the way home. Do you have the Helper?

What changes in us when we are saved? Paul gives us three marks of the person who has Christ's resurrection life dwelling within them. Do you have these three marks? What are you doing with them to change the world around you?
Do you feel like your faith needs something extra to make it better or right? There are many extras offered to the gospel of salvation by faith alone in Christ alone, but they all fail to deliver. Paul calls us to hold fast to the simple gospel in this passage.

The flood shows that God knows how to keep his own even in the midst of judgment. Noah represents God's remnant in a sinful world. The good news is even when the whole world seems against God, God will most certainly deliver his own people. Are you trusting in God and looking to the hope of his salvation?
We are separated from God because of sin, but why can't we just go on like this? Why is reconciliation essential? In Genesis 6:1-8 we see the lead up to the judgment of the flood and we see that sin must eventually be judged. Our sermon gives four reasons why sin will eventually be judged. In light of this truth we must seek reconciliation through God's grace.
The story of Cain and Abel reveals the great war between the seed of the serpent and the promise of God. At times the war seems lost, but God's promise proves itself unstoppable.
