Paul's credentials were impeccable: properly circumcised, pure Israelite lineage, from the prestigious tribe of Benjamin, Hebrew-speaking, Pharisaically trained, zealously religious, and legally blameless. By all cultural standards, he had every reason to boast. Yet he declares all these achievements as worthless—literally "dung" or "rubbish"—compared to knowing Christ.
The episode traces Paul's spiritual journey from intellectual knowledge of Christ to intimate relationship with Christ to fully experiencing Christ through resurrection power, suffering, obedience unto death, and ultimate resurrection hope. In this episode I talk about two mindsets that all our thoughts can be categorized into: the scarcity mindset and the abundance mindset. Scarcity says "there's not enough to go around," and abundance says, "there's MORE than enough to go around." Scarcity will always skew your perspective. God is a God of abundance. In Him there is no lack!

Let's talk about disappointment. Maybe you have been believing for something and then it turned out to be a disappointment and not what you thought, so how do we deal with disappointment? God told us we were to ask and receive but what happens in between the ask and the receive is where the enemy comes in and tries to tell us lies. I want to discuss how to deal with disappointment and overcome what the enemy is trying to tell you.

I'm excited to share a message with you that I spoke at One Church in our Selfless series. Over the past month we have been focusing on how to be more selfless in the new year. Today, we are focusing on the story of Cain and Abel in Genesis 4 and how Cain's problem wasn't really about Abel but more about himself. Cain focused on comparison, anger, unforgiveness, and pride which led to his resentment for his brother. With the Holiday season, you have probably seen a lot of snow globes around and chances are you've picked one up and shook it around! I think that we can learn a lot from how snow globes work and how a snow globe perspective can give us a spiritual lesson and change the way we see our life! In Galatians 1:15-16 the Bible tells us, But when He, Who had chosen and set me apart [even] before I was born and had called me by His grace (His undeserved favor and blessing), saw fit and was please to reveal (unveil, disclose) His Son within me so that I might proclaim Him among the Gentiles (the non-Jewish world) as the glad tidings (Gospel), immediately I did not confer with flesh and blood [did not consult or counsel with any frail human being or communicate with anyone]. This verse in Galatians can help us to see that:
1. Every snow globe is made with everything it needs on the inside
2. When things feel like they are falling apart they are actually coming together
3.They are made with the owner in mind
4.They are unmoved by circumstances
5. Just because you don't see Him doesn't mean He isn't there

If we were to be really honest with ourselves I think a lot of us skip over the last part of the Lord's prayer, "as we forgive those". This part tells us that we have to be continuously doing just that, forgiving. Forgiveness is a choice and we have to constantly choose to do that every day. Ephesians 6 tells us to put on the armor of God, not that it's already on or we are born with it. We have to physically put it on ourselves each day. It's a choice! Verse 16 tells us to take up a shield of faith so that we can extinguish the darts of the enemy. I love this so much because it's basically telling us that we will have attacks from the enemy but if we choose to put on the shield of faith we can overcome! If you could ask Jesus anything, what would it be? Most of the time we don't even ask because we are afraid of not saying the right thing. 100% of prayers that you never pray will go unfulfilled. The Bible tells us in Mark 16: 17-18 to pray bold prayers in Jesus name and we can do big things! There is authority available for the believer. For so long I asked myself the question, Does God answer prayer. Now I know He does! Your life is as limited or unlimited as your prayers. Friend, it's time to start getting results from your prayers and believe that in Jesus name all things are possible! In today's culture it can be a challenge to raising Godly children. Maybe you aren't a parent yet but you are planning for kids in the future. Either way, we must start by being an example. We can't expect our children to live a life that we aren't living. In order to raise kingdom kids and be an example we must make it a priority in our daily life. It's important to make God a part of your everyday. Whatever that is for you and your family make intentional time with your kids and help contribute in building your child's relationship with God. Do you ever have moments of wondering what to do when God is silent in your life? He gives you a promise and then months go by and your questioning what He told you. Sometimes we get ahead of God because we think He hasn't responded fast enough but the truth is sometimes those promises take longer because what we can't see is that God has something much greater and bigger for you! In the story of Abraham, we see that he waited 13 years to see God's promise fulfilled!! Has God put a dream in your heart but after years of pursuing it you ended up giving up because you feel like it's not worth it? I want to encourage you that even though you may not see it, God is preparing you and molding you for where you are going! We see in Hebrews 6:12, "We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised". You have to be faithful with what God has given you at this time in your life and have the patience to endure what it takes to get there. Has God given you a promise but you are starting to question if it will actually come to pass? Friend, it's okay to have moments of doubt and questioning but at the end of the day are you choosing to believe what God has promised you? In Romans 4:19-21 the Bible tells us about Abraham, "Without becoming weak in faith he considered his own body, now as good as dead [for producing children] since he was about a hundred years old, and [he considered] the deadness of Sarah’s womb. But he did not doubt or waver in unbelief concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong and empowered by faith, giving glory to God, being fully convinced that God had the power to do what He had promised." Even if you doubt just know that you are stronger than you think you are! Just like God's promise to Abraham, he didn't choose him because he was strong he chose him because he was willing! God has the power to do all that He has promised you, you just have to put your trust in Him. He is more than able! In Joshua 11, the story in the Bible tells us about spies that went to view the promised land and that Caleb's report was good! As time goes on we see that something that could of taken a much shorter time ended up taking years to be fulfilled! There were several times where Caleb could of gave up, comprised, and said I'm too old for this, however, he continued following the Lord wholly. He knew the promise of God and wasn't going to stop until he saw that come to pass! What dreams has God put in your own heart but after a few months you get distracted and compromise? Feeling unqualified to do something is a common trait most people carry. In order for us to be more confident and feel qualified for what call God has on our life we must: 1- Quit saying negative things about yourself 2- Trust that if God calls, God will equip We have to quit analyzing our flaws and trust that God will always equip us with what we need. He doesn't call the qualified, he qualifies the called. If we were qualified to do what God has called us to then we wouldn't need Him. Stop telling yourself who you aren't and start telling yourself who God says you are! I believe there are 3 relationships that are the most important relationships you could have. These 3 relationships will change how you see yourself, others, and your relationship with God. In 1 Peter 3:10-11, the Bible tells us, “The one who wants to enjoy life and see good days [good—whether apparent or not], Must keep his tongue free from evil and his lips from speaking guile (treachery, deceit). He must turn away from wickedness and do what is right. He must search for peace [with God, with self, with others] and pursue it eagerly [actively—not merely desiring it]."
