I don’t know about you. But when I see trading psychology being discussed it is often portrayed as ‘overtrading’ or ‘lack of discipline’ or ‘failure to pull the trigger’ being the issue that needs work on. For me, comparing myself when I was live trading in 2016 to now is just an absolute stark contrast. Then, I made every single psych mistake you could think of. Because I had no plan or idea what I was doing. Now, I have made 0 psych mistakes since I went live after spending 1.5 years learning and backtesting. Does it mean I’ll never make a psych mistake? No. It could happen. Anything is possible. Just because you can drive it doesn’t mean you won’t be in a car crash. But the chances are far less likely if you show up prepared with a system YOU tested and created and have belief in your abilities and the work you’ve done. More emphasis on getting psych right prior to live Trading than working on psychological issues that are the result of people not going about things the right way. Social Media = @naomigslight

My workload seems to have gone from 1bn% to very little. This will of course be temporary as I have other things to get on with, other strategies to add, but it is an interesting shift, and shows what it will be like once I trade full time and my portfolio is 'there.' To begin with I struggled with this, but over time, through implementing various learning methods and just based on putting in the reps I feel confident in dealing with such situations. Now, there are no stupid questions when you are learning, but I know I often felt uncomfortable asking about things I was unclear on because I always felt like the annoying person taking up everyone's time (and I know one or two of you have the same issue!). The reason I did this episode is because whilst I did often feel uncomfortable, it would never stop me just going for it and asking. But I am aware that some just never ask their question, and this can result in there being a potential gap or misunderstanding of a concept in your trading. The goal is to build a firm solid foundation in reading price action so misunderstanding a concept, or just gliding over it because you don't want to ask could have real repercussions later on.
