In this episode of Hypnogeeks, Amanda chats with her friend and colleague Nicola Barragry — clinical hypnotherapist, Reiki Master, and creator of HypnoFlow. Nicola’s inspiring story weaves together family life, personal loss, career shifts, and a lifelong commitment to helping others.

From supporting her community as a teacher, council worker, and crisis advisor, to stepping fully into holistic healing, Nicola has built a unique toolkit that blends hypnotherapy, Reiki, and the Energy Alignment Method. She now runs two powerful initiatives: HypnoFlow, a year-long programme for clearing resistance and aligning subconscious beliefs, and Circles of Support, safe spaces where carers and community members can connect and be heard.

This conversation is full of warmth and wisdom — and especially valuable for hypnotherapists and wellness professionals interested in blending modalities and deepening their work with subconscious communication.

Key Highlights & Insights:

  • 0:13:21 – From teaching to crisis work: How Nicola recognised the limits of “broken systems” and developed her own approach to support clients holistically.
  • 0:26:55 – Discovering the Energy Alignment Method (EAM): Nicola shares her “aha moment”, realising that unresolved trauma and subconscious resistance often block transformation. She explains how EAM uses the body as a pendulum, working with sways, resistance, and reversals to access subconscious communication directly.
  • 0:37:41 – The five steps of EAM: A practical walk-through of how to identify resistance, trace beliefs back to their origin, release them with powerful statements, and replace them with aligned states of flow.
  • 0:56:40 – Blending Hypnotherapy & EAM: Nicola discusses how she integrates hypnosis with energy work, helping clients bypass resistance and deepen into subconscious communication. She uses metaphor, sanctuary spaces, and hypnotic techniques alongside energy alignment to create HypnoFlow.
  • 1:00:46 – The HypnoFlow Programme: A structured year-long journey blending hypnotherapy, energy alignment, and accountability. Participants work through universal laws, subconscious beliefs, physical health, relationships, lifestyle, wealth, and purpose — aligning every area of life. For hypnotherapists, it’s an inspiring model of combining subconscious tools with holistic frameworks.
  • 1:10:56 – Circles of Support: Nicola’s community initiative that offers safe spaces for carers, relatives of those in care homes, foster parents, teaching assistants, and charity workers. Unlike traditional support groups, Circles focus on holding space without agenda — a place for authentic presence, emotional release, and shared humanity. Hypnotherapists may recognise parallels with group hypnotherapy, supervision, and reflective practice.
  • 1:18:00 – Supervision & therapist support: Nicola has also trained as a hypnotherapy supervisor, bringing her unique blend of compassion, energy awareness, and subconscious communication to those working in the helping professions.

Why listen?
If you’re a hypnotherapist, you’ll find fresh inspiration in how Nicola blends EAM and hypnosis to work more intuitively with the subconscious. You’ll also hear how she builds meaningful programmes and groups that address not just individual transformation, but the wider need for community connection.

This episode is both a case study in professional reinvention and a reminder of the power of our work: to hold space, to listen beyond words, and to unlock the subconscious mind’s capacity for healing.

Welcome to the HypnoGeeks Podcast — Today’s episode is for every woman who’s ever asked: “Where did I go in all of this?”

I’m joined by the incredible Jo Brown, a Quality-of-Life Coach, Clinical Hypnotherapist, and TARC EFT Practitioner with over two decades of experience in the health and social care sector. Jo’s story isn’t just inspiring, it’s relatable. From NHS receptionist to practice manager, Jo spent years caring for others while quietly burning out herself. But when her life began to unravel, she did something courageous; she chose to rebuild, not just survive.

Now, Jo supports emotionally exhausted women, particularly those in health, social care, and caregiving professions, to reconnect with themselves, rebuild their boundaries, and rise into a version of life that feels more aligned, peaceful, and empowered.

In this powerful conversation, we explore what it truly means to break free from burnout, how to create space for healing, and why you’re not broken — you’re becoming. We talk about the emotional toll of constantly giving, how to recognize when your body is calling for change, and what’s possible when you finally say yes to yourself.

Jo’s trauma-informed approach weaves clinical hypnotherapy, TARC EFT, and deep compassion, guiding women to gently reclaim their time, energy, and self-worth.

So, whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or just craving clarity and calm, take a breath, settle in, and let this conversation be your reminder:

You are not alone, you are not broken, and your next chapter can begin today.

This is the HypnoGeeks Podcast — your gateway to holistic healing, transformation, and the power of becoming.

In this episode, we chat about all things meditation and The New Guided Minds Meditation Teacher Training Course at the NCCH.

Neil our meditation teacher began his journey to spiritual freedom in November 2017 beginning with Meditation classes.

The joy and blissful state of being that Neil began to experience with meditation was more than enough to convince him that life is a truly magical gift and that the changes to come would be for the highest good of himself and all his relations.

Meditation reconnected Neil with his creative spirit and this took him to sing in concerts in Italy, the Czech Republic, Macedonia, and New York City as well as bringing an abundance of joy to his life.

His dedication to meditation under the spiritual guidance of Sri Chinmoy enabled him to flip unhealthy and addictive behaviours bringing centredness and grounding to his whole life.

Before meditation, his life was extreme but he found his 'here and now' on the middle path of enlightenment, and knowing this place of balance he lives a fully expressive and empowered life.

Neil's exploration of the healing arts blossomed under the tutelage of Sheila Whittaker at the College of Sound Healing, Suzy Crockford for Ancient Ways, Leo Rutherford for his expertise on the teachings of the Medicine Wheel, and in addition Angelic Reiki, Cacao Ceremony Facilitation, Ho'oponopono, Mindfulness, Hatha Yoga and most recently with the guiding light of Hypnotherapy, Amanda Joy at the Northern College of Clinical Hypnotherapy.

All of the teachings Neil receives, he shares in facilitating and holding space for his events with The Soul Sound Spirit www.thesoulsoundspirit.com.

Neil loves to share sound healing and meditation in his spare time he performs at festivals and concerts and has performed at the Yoga Show in Alexandra Palace, The Durham Festival of Well being and Ferne Cotton's Happy Place Festival, and many more to come!

Neil currently leads and facilitates classes for adults and children in Meditation and Mindfulness bringing presence and grounded living to all who seek it. 'The building blocks of an enriching spiritual life are found in meditation and mindfulness, from there you can blossom and flourish on your own spiritual journey to enrich the mind, body, and soul.
It's really an immensely rewarding calling to teach meditation, you find yourself within each and every student you teach.'

Neil is very excited to share the wonderful gift of becoming a teacher of Meditation with the Guided Minds Meditation Teacher Training - 'It's about being a bright guiding light in your world, to love, grow and create the world that you share from the pure light of the heart.'

Post-traumatic stress disorder is a mental health condition caused by a traumatic experience.
Symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder include flashbacks, nightmares, feeling very anxious and difficulty sleeping.
The main treatments for post-traumatic stress disorder are antidepressants and talking therapies.
Any situation that a person finds traumatic can cause post-traumatic stress disorder. Examples include a road accident, an assault and childbirth.
Complex trauma describes exposure to multiple traumatic events often of a wide range of types, long-term exposure to trauma and/or repeated trauma. These events are severe and pervasive, such as abuse or profound neglect.
Roderick Aungier Known as Rod is an independent Gestalt Psychotherapist with a small private practise. He has also helped set up an online Institute called Complex Trauma Institute where provides various online active learning groups, the occasional webinar and some training as and when.
Qualified in Gestalt and Somatic Developmental Psychotherapy – qualified in New York. He has various diplomas around Embodied Relational ways of working – because he found that connecting at a bodily level worked for him and his trauma process and he sees incredible results with clients.
Before Gestalt training – in 2002 I worked at various jobs which all seemed to relate to trauma, notably working with acquired brain injury for ten years. He studied natural science at university later in life (36) and did Analytical chemistry for five years and discovered an analytical side of him that he didn’t know existed but he never felt like a real scientist.
Rod sought help and therapy for many years after leaving school after realising that he was pretty damaged.
He found very little help or understanding from any of the available resources provided until one day when he told his Doctor that he was suicidal and was referred to see a Gestalt therapist.
This Gestalt therapist was pivotal for his awareness of what happened to him and years of peeling away the layers of the onion followed – and still continue.

When he felt, he had come to a good point in his personal therapy and understanding he engaged in Gestalt training – and of course became much more aware of how him and his damage had affected everyone he was in contact with.
Further understanding led him to investigate embodiment and embodied work and the connection between one lived body and another – which. If paid attention to, can lead to profound healing.
That seemed to be the place he needed to be so his therapy approach is a mixture of Gestalt and Embodied work.
Rods childhood from a very early age involved a confusing – charming for a lot of the time but brutal, controlling and physically violent at other times– father. All of his adjustments and adaptations and unawareness’s came about because of one man, and he say that sometimes when he looks back and sees how one person’s actions can affect a whole family system its staggering.
There were five in his family and not once was his father ever confronted with the truth of his actions and if Rod looks at the world today you can clearly see the benefits of being an autocratic and brutal leader everywhere you look which is a sobering thought.
Rod is passionate to share that trauma and even complex trauma _ the enduring kind, which he suffered, can be worked with, processed and transformed – it’s just not the easiest nor the shortest of journeys.

So the real driver behind writing the book was what I saw as a real split in therapy and healing. On the one hand you had the absolute expert scientific approach and on the other you had the spiritual hippy very unscientific appro

This week on the #wednesdaywellbeing show comes with a content warning!!

This episode contains content that may be alarming to some listeners.
Please check the show notes for more detailed descriptions before listening and take care of yourself.

Tonights topic is sexual violence and domestic abuse. Far more than that, we discuss how you can heal fully from these types of horrific experiences.

To provide some perspective, here are some key statistics from trusted sources showing the scale of the problem in England and Wales.

1 in 4 women are raped, sexually assaulted and or sexually abused. 1 in 6 children have been sexually abused and 1 in 20 men have been raped or sexually assaulted as an adult. That's more than 1 in 20 people every 12 months.

My guest tonight Geua Hila spent over 30 years battling with depression and anxiety after falling victim to sexual abuse, divorce and homelessness.

Geua is the founder of The Wholistic F.A.I.T.H Process; a process that allows all who will apply it, to become enlightened and feel empowered in reclaiming a life they have lost.

Through inspirational and motivational speaking, she has unlocked doors for women to regain control and use their negative past experiences as fuel for a positive present and future.

She has spoken on platforms such as The Evolve Network, women-only group She’roes, International Women’s Day events and Kingdom Women of the Word. She has also featured on Jessie Wang’s podcast ‘Voices Unheard’ and this week she's joining me on my podcast as she prepares to share her story at an event.

You can join Geua at Customs House on the Friday the 7th of October 2022 at 10:00 till 15:00 BST.

Tickets available at: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/think-and-feel-great-seminar-reach-out-tickets-409417417517
You can listen on DH9digital or at Nova Radio on Sunday or on Amanda Joy's Podcast too.

This is possibly the most challenging and inspiring interview I've ever done.

This week in the #Wednesdaywellbeing show I'm chatting with Catherine Kelleher qualified transformation coach, Mind Detox and Neuro-lingustic programming practitioner, specialising in helping people move from fear to freedom.

Catherine beleives that "It starts with you and the realisation that you might be on your way or indeed burned out".

Years ago, she found herself in a position of rebuilding her life and starting over after her "dark night of the soul". Catherine had totally crashed and burned.

This was an extremely difficult and dark period of her life, she was stressed, depressed, anxious, lost, fearful and had lost all hope.

The reason being; she wasn't fulfilled or living her life the way she wanted to.

Just going through the motions everyday out of a sense of duty because that’s what professionals and high-achievers do. Right?

When working with Catherine  you will look at every aspect of your life, your deep rooted fears and your aspirations for the future.
With a blend or coaching, Mind Detox, exercises and other techniques you will clear any limiting beliefs and fears that led you to burnout in the first place and get you moving forward and living life the way you want.

This week on the #Wednesday Wellbeing show we are talking love, romance, and relationships with Just 1 to 11 it • Relationship Coaching • Speaker • Trainer • Coach, Martin and Naomi.

Perhaps you are bickering more with your partner, drifting apart, prefer being apart and dread time together.
How's the intimacy, are you feeling unloved, irritated, fed up and frustrated?

The pandemic was “the perfect storm” for many couples, with lockdowns and social distancing causing them to spend increased amounts of time together.

This has, in many cases, acted as a catalyst for break-ups that may have already been on the cards, especially if previous separate routines had served to mask problems.

With divorce rates being so high maybe we need to ask, why have humans suddenly become so inept at making relationships last?

Have we forgotten how to love? Or worse, forgotten what love is?

This week we take a deep dive into our romantic life, share the reality and the challenges that relationships bring. We look at why relationships don't work out and how we can get through tough break ups.

How would you currently rate your relationship out of 10?
Where would you LOVE your relationship to be out of 10?
Wherever you are at, we will show you have to take it to an 11!

You can listen at 8 pm on DH9digital on Wednesday and on Nova Radio North East 102.5fm on Sunday afternoon or on Amanda Joy's Podcast.

This week on the #Wednesdaywellbeing show I'm replaying one if my favourite interviews with Frank Ramsay.

Frank is the author of 'Blue mondays forging a career in chinese medicine'. Cruising a new world view. Alternative medicine at Sea! A new frontier!
Atheism in drug addiction and Barcelona city of magic.

Tonight we chat with Frank about his mental health and mania, and the healing, transforming nature of his experience.

His own life and his extensive studies in mental health nursing and Traditional Chinese medicine give him a wealth of knowledge he brings to tonights show.

We also chat about the theories around acupuncture for depression. Our discussion is around mental wellbeing and the research showing acupuncture can alter brain chemistry and increase serotonin production (which is lowered in depression). Acupuncture is also known to increase endorphins (the body’s feel-good hormones) in the nervous system and brain, which may improve mood.

Acupuncture has been shown to down-regulate the areas of the brain responsible for pain, stress, anxiety and worry. We discuss the currently used medical model for mental wellbeing and how with advancement in knowledge and holistic therapies we can support people in a more effective way.

This week on the #Wednesdaywellbeing show I'm chatting with Clare Evans Co founder of Defi Health Solutions (DHS).

As our NHS faces unprecedented challenges, it's going to require an equally unprecedented, and long term, response from the government. Firstly to deal with the backlog of both physical and mental healthcare that the pandemic has caused, and second to create a system of health and care that tackles both the health inequalities and the other weaknesses that covid-19 has exposed.

Clare has a background of 26 years in health as a registered general nurse.

She has worked within most specialities in health and across all of the main health systems during her career. Her clinical background is acute general medicine, multiple complex chronic conditions management, hospital avoidance, disease prevention, education and her specialist area, is respiratory disease, asthma and COPD.

For over 26 years Clare has studied and analysed health systems and is an expert in systems and solutions development.
In 2017 Clare developed Global Health Solutions for respiratory conditions, asthma and COPD.
She took them to the WHO, as well as other global leaders and respiratory organisations between 2017 and October 2019 however, they were not ready for a radical change in health systems, disease management and prevention of disability.

In February 2022 she met Adam Ahmed co-founder of Hybridtech Group (HTG). Adam, is a global business development and marketing strategist.
He was creating a powerful ecosystem of partners to create global change, empowering people with knowledge and education to create smart entrepreneurs and wealth, amongst other things.

Clare and Adam have come together to change Global Health. The objective is for it to become patient centred, holistic, and caring,
Whilst addressing the problems with effective, simple, timely, cost-effective solutions.

The mission is to develop powerful community-based health systems and solutions which balance medical health, holistic health and introduce the most advanced effective technologies to our clients.

DHS aims to open one stop Health Hubs, with powerful community-based collaborations to provide holistic individualised, patient centred, community-based care, right from birth to end of life in every community across the UK.

The aim is to educate clients not only on all of their health needs, but on the wide range of treatment options available to them, to enable informed choice.
The aim to provide choice over where they receive that care; in the Health Hubs, in their own home, in a practitioner’s own clinic or even via zoom when possible.

They aim to manage all aspects of physical, mental and emotional wellbeing to ensure that clients become not only healthy, and educated on their own health, but the best versions of themselves they could possibly be.

The first Health Hub has opened in Bradford UK. When this model has been finalised, the system will be modelled around the UK and the world as a franchise option.
It's an exciting time and I can't wait to introduce you to Clare Evans.

This week on the #Wednesdaywellbeing show I'm chatting with Antonio De Sousa.
Anthony is a Self Belief & Self Joy Facilitator, mentor and coach specialising within spiritual frequency areas of self love, self care and self mastery.

He’s the author of a brilliant brand new book that was launched just a few weeks ago.

Antonio, formally a plasterer, in his new book gives his true account of what it is like to be a man who once hated himself.

He acknowledges that life hasn’t been easy for him, codependency and a predisposition for drugs, and a break up that led him to question if he even wanted to continue living.

Antonio has embarked on improving the fragile relationship he had with himself, in his debut book; 📚The Lockdown on Self-Love📚 Antonio promotes transparency and advocates that vulnerability is real strength. He gives voice to sensitive subjects that many men have suffered with and certainly don't talk about.

He loves to share these principles with others, with a dose of personal development and spirituality, to inspire others to realise that the most important relationship there will ever be, is the one you have with yourself.

He is also a proud father of two young children.

In his book Antonio wears his heart on his sleeve. One thing that screams out from each chapter and each page of this book, is the realness through the way he expresses his experiences from his perspective.

He quite refreshingly owns his part throughout from very early childhood having to flee South Africa, to landing in a foreign land in Portugal, to then finally relocation within England.

I can only imagine what an experience it must have been to revisit some of the tough times in his life facing them head on and writing them down.

He has let go of traumatic life experiences, childhood sexual trauma, violence, prison exposure, drugs, illusions, educational challenges like dyslexia, in such a creative inspiring way.

From challenging the status quo on mental health, spirituality, awakening, living an authentic life, its all in his book along with
the depths of chaos he experienced.

Now out in public within the world spreading his very special message of self empowerment, self belief, self joy, and ultimately self love, his presence is a real gift

This week on the #Wednesdaywellbeing show I'm chatting with Rob Aungier an independent Gestalt Psychotherapist.

Rob has helped set up an online Institute called The Complex Trauma Institute where he runs various online learning groups, the occasional webinar and some training too.

Qualified in Gestalt and also Somatic Developmental Psychotherapy – based in New York, he also holds various diplomas around Embodied Relational ways of working.

Rob found that connecting at a bodily level worked for him when healing his trauma and he sees great results with his clients too.

Before Gestalt training – in 2002 he worked at various jobs which all seemed to relate to trauma, notably working with acquired brain injury for ten years.

Rob also Studied natural science at University later in life (36) and did Analytical chemistry for five years he discovered an analytical side to himself that he didn’t know existed but he says he never felt like a real scientist.

After many years of living with trauma himself, he sought help and therapy as he felt pretty damaged.

He struggled to find useful help and understanding from any of the available resources provided until one day when he told his Doctor that he was suicidal and his Doctor sent him to see a Gestalt therapist.

This Gestalt therapist was pivotal for his awareness of what happened to him and years of peeling away the layers of the onion followed – and still continue.
When he felt he had come to a good point in his personal therapy and understanding he trained in Gestalt therapy.

Further understanding led him to investigate embodiment and embodied work and the connection between one lived body and another which, If paid attention to, can lead to profound healing.

In this weeks show we address Trauma, PTSD, complex trauma and the developments in therapy, Gestalt and Embodied therapy work.

This weeks guest on the #wednesdaywellbeing show is Kundalini yoga teacher and men's work facilitator JotePrakash Singh Khalsa

Jote Prakash spent much of his life craving elevation and ecstatic states. From being young, and finding it through high-octane extreme sports such as parkour and breakdancing to being a teenager and looking for it through drugs and alcohol.

After a spiritual awakening that was un-grounded and happened too quickly (the doctors called it psychosis, he calls it 'The Big Trip') he was gifted the chance to become a Kundalini Yoga Teacher.

And so, through the practice, at age 18, he came to the realisation that all the joyful and hightened states in the Universe can be inspired within ourselves - he still loves parkour of course but the drugs and alcohol have been shown the door.

Jote is now creating spaces and setting up an off grid Community and Whole-istic wellbeing centre called The Rising Dawn Sanctuary.
Here he works with a team of guardians however, they are still looking for land.

Jote is a Mentor and teacher he hosts Men's retreats that are like therapeutic rites of passage. He also has a mixed retreat combining sound healing and yoga in May 2022.

Recently he faced extreme challenges so tonights show explores just how we can overcome, grow and heal as a result of the challenges life can throw our way.

Hypno Geeks Episode 1

I'm delighted to be joined by Clinical Hypnotherapist, and expert in Parts Therapy, Rachael Leonard from the Hypnotherapy Relaxation Clinic.

Parts Therapy is the idea that our personality is made up of lots of parts from our subconscious.  These parts have come into being as a result of learning.

The goal of parts-therapy is to help people have all the parts of the self ready to show up when needed. It's also particularly useful for someone who is experiencing unresolved trauma.

Parts therapy also resolves internal conflicts, and in my experience has helped so many clients who've failed to respond to other traditional techniques.

This person-centered approach empowers clients to resolve their inner conflicts for themselves.

Geraldine McGrath empowers smart, driven women to ease and embrace anxiety in order to overcome it and without medication. She does this via a combination of hypnotherapy, NLP techniques and positive psychology and is my guest on thus weeks #Wednesdaywellbeing show.

She sees it as her mission to raise mental health literacy about this all too common issue, by advocating for, and supporting women who, experience troubling levels of anxiety which is limiting their life.

She runs her FB group ‘Embracing Anxiety for Women’ for this very purpose and is passionate about her work. If you suffer with anxiety of any sort, she is the calm, warm and empathic confidant who will lead you out of the twisting, winding, spiralling paths of that anxious thinking, towards lasting peace and tranquillity.

After overcoming extreme panic disorder in her early 20s, she recognised the amazing healing potential of the subconscious mind. Through experiencing hypnotherapy she gained solace and quietened down the web of anxious thoughts in which she was entangled. It made her realise that through acceptance, relaxation and inner resilience, recovery from anxiety is within every woman’s reach.

This week on the #Wednesday Wellbeing show, we talk baby boom and conscious Birthing with the beautiful Samantha Surtees.

Contrary to fears that the coronavirus pandemic could cause a “baby bust”, the numbers of women in England expecting a baby appear to be on the rise.

Experts say baby booms are common after tragic events, which was famously the case for the “boomer” generation born after the second world war. The phenomenon has also been observed on a smaller scale, including after Princess Diana’s death and the 2004 tsunami in south-east Asia.

Up to 1.9 million babies could be born in the two years after the end of lockdown if 25- to 40-year-olds follow through with their plans to start a family, research from the market research agency Opinium has suggested.

Perhaps you're pregnant, planning to be and planning your birth or looking at how to increase your wellbeing during your pregnancy.

Never has it been more important to be in a safe, nurturing space, to be heard. It is a strange time in life to be experiencing such an intense journey. There is so much love and support here.

Want to find out more about conscious Birthing? Tune in to the #Wednesdaywellbeing show and listen to my interview with Samantha Surtees.

We discuss all things pregnancy and Birthing also how pregnancy can be an opportunity for deep personal healing.
The huge benefits the gift of gathering as women in circle. Self care and nurturing during pregnancy. Informed choices freebirthing and hospital births, hypnobirthing and the benefits of conscious birthing.

This week on the Wednesday Wellbeing show WE are getting wild.....

Do you have a keen interest in the outdoors and outdoor living.

If so this weeks guest is going to inspire you to connect in a deeper way with the outdoors.

From a young age Jamie Carle together with his Mother, Step-Father and little brother enjoyed 17th Century Civil War re-enactment and living history.

As a family they were part of the team, feeding the regiment....Food was cooked using outside fire pits, with cauldrons hung on rustic tripods, and using modern reproductions of authentic ceramics and fire tools. He was introduced to cutting tools, building and safely staunching fires, collecting wood, then drying and splitting it for fire use. This proved to be a fertile training ground to also explore old historical crafts which provided him with transferable skills in relation to being both a Bowyer and Bushcraft instructor.

Moving on to his teenage years he attended an all boys boarding school where jamie attended on-campus bushcraft lessons, falling in love with the subject, Jamie promptly channeled his pre-existing skills and crafts into his new all encompassing pursuit.

At 17 years old he fought to study and became the youngest person at that time to complete their Advanced bushcraft leadership program in 2007.

Today, Jamie spends his time instructing Bushcraft/bow-making, continually broadening and widening his knowledge of his beloved craft.

Autonomous learning is also called self-directed learning.

Nickys passion is to empower others, support them and just love them fully.
Her work helps people to process grief, and uses traditional methods influenced by African tribal traditions, a deep connection with our ancestors, the seasons of life and the earth.

Our mental health system is underfunded and doesn't offer enough support for young people contemplating suicide. Megan's space provides those essential links to support, therapy and treatment. It does this within days of people reaching out to them. Not weeks or months but rapidly, and it saves lives.

Megan's space not only provides immediate support but it empowers and raises up young people, gives them the help they need, to not just feel better, but to live their lives to the full.

Today I'm chatting with Lisa about the launch of the new book which focuses on choice.

I'm chatting about the choices we make, the choices she made, how she lost her partner and overcame ill health.

We discuss the unhealthy coping mechanisms, the masks we often choose, and the ones she had in place.

Lisa refers to her healing process as an unmasking process. All of these masks were either coping mechanisms or a way to connection that she desperately needed.

Lisa shares how we can unmask, be more authentic, choose a better way to be, and deeply heal.

Here’s a question:

Are you really ready for change in your life?

The Foundation of all change must come with compassion, self compassion, a compassionate enquiry and a whole heap of love.

To learn, and change, we must first, feel safe.
We need to get into our safety mode, feel good and then we can empower ourselves and choose to change.  The safer we feel the more relaxed we are the more we can learn.

When in hypnosis you feel warm, nurtured, safe, you're in a perfect state to learn, to change.

Once in this perfect state for transformation we can heal the pain from the past, change your perception and powerfully support permanent change?

This week I'm delighted to be chatting with the Champion Of Change! Jo Davis.

Specialising in Eliminating Root Causes of Negative Emotions, Stress & Anxiety, Trauma's,

By Using the Holistically driven, blended therapies, of Coaching/mentoring, NLP, Timeline Therapy and Hypnosis,

How do people learn how to move forward with the tools to make Positive & lasting Change Today!

We all have the resources/power to make change but sometimes we need to recognise that we need a little guidance.

This week on the #wednesdaywellbeing show I'm chatting with Dani Jackson about how to take care of your body better and boost your immune system.

Your immune system is your body’s natural defense system. 🥊🥊

It’s an intricate network of cells, tissues, and organs that band together to defend your body against invaders.🦠🦠 Those invaders can include bacteria, viruses, parasites, even fungus, all with the potential to make us sick 🤒🤮🤢.

And if one slips by the barrier, the immune system produces white blood cells, and other chemicals and proteins that attack and destroy these foreign substances.

The immune system can recognise millions of different antigens. And it can produce what it needs to eradicate nearly all of them. When it’s working properly, this elaborate defense system can keep health problems at bay.

Sometimes the immune system makes a mistake and identifies a substance as being harmful when it’s not for example pollen and hayfever. The immune system revs up to fight these “invaders,” you have an allergic reaction.

Not eating healthily, being sedentary, not getting enough sleep, and being under chronic stress can all contribute to a weak immune system. When your immune system is depleted, bacteria, viruses, or toxins can overwhelm the body. The result? You get sick.

This week I am so excited to be chatting with Dani Jackson.😄💗💖

She is a Holistic Nutritionalist and Wellness Coach, a Gut Health Expert a Yoga teacher, Pilates teacher, Motivational Speaker and published author of Beauty and The Gut.
And her new book 🥁🥁🥁...how to beat coronavirus and other viruses naturally.. which is out now.......

On amazon..

Whether you are suffering from conditions like IBS, SIBO, Candida, leaky gut, hormonal problems, gut based issues, skin problems like acne, eczema etc. autoimmune issues, weight problems or just want to boost your immune system naturally Dani has got a multitude of solutions and I'm ready with lots of questions..

This week on the #wednesdaywellbeing show Im talking transformation and healing from addiction.

The Action on Addiction charity says it saw an 86% rise in the number of people seeking help this January compared with last year.

The families of those with substance abuse issues have spoken of the immense pressure and danger this lockdown has put on their lives.

With support groups limited to 15 people, many charities are unable to hold sessions safely in person. Some supportive groups, are still operating for people with substance use disorders. Many have transitioned to online like The Adfam charity that has been solely relying on online and telephone support.

Practitioners like myself know that using technology for our services inevitably leaves many people out. Many without access to broadband are being left behind, abd the disconnect of online communication makes our roles as pillars of support increasingly difficult.

Thus week I'm chatting with CiCi Reagan who brings her wonderful story of healing transformation and hope.

Cici is a recovering addict, domestic abuse survivor, and published author.

She now works with fellow survivors of addiction, abuse, and trauma to unearth their inner strength and heal through the power of writing. Her followers and members of her community refer to her as ‘inspiring,’ but her main goal is to simply share her story so that others know they aren’t alone.

This weeks show leaves you full of hope and you can listen to all my show live at 8 pm on www.ntrsounds.co.uk or catch up on www.awakenedpodcasts.com

This week on the #wednesdaywellbeing show
We chat about the science of plant medicine 🌿🌿💊 and the use of psychedelics. 🧘‍♂️🧘‍♀️

🦚🦚I'm joined by Jonathan de Potter who is The Founder of Behold Retreats.🦚🦚

💊Hallucinogenic drugs....San Pedro...ayahuasca...LSD ...magic mushrooms....are back in the spotlight. 🍄🍄

There is clearly a great deal of public interest and much to discover about the magic of healing with plant medicines, there are countless resources online if you want to find out about working with teacher plants for your own healing. 🙏🙏🙌

There have also been a series of recent studies suggesting that psychedelics may be useful for alleviating depression and anxiety, PTSD, and even addiction. 👨‍🔬👩‍🔬🧪

Ayahuasca tourism is well established in South America. Its use by Westerners interested in healing and shamanism has raised the profile of the traditional medicine globally. 💼🌍
According to the Ethnobotanical Stewardship Council (ESC) Peru and Colombia are "well-travelled, with tens of thousands of foreigners taking ayahuasca there every year,"

So what's it all about?????

Isn't it dangerous to even promote the use of drugs to expand the mind???? 🧠🤯

This week Jonathan and I have an open, enlightening and honest chat about the benefits, drawbacks and dangers of using plant medicines.

"Self-belief. That´s a big one, especially for those of us who have been through childhood trauma, as well as many of us who haven´t.

How many of you have been told that you´re a great mum, worker, co-worker or student and yet it doesn´t seem enough at the time?

Yes, others might recognise your skills, talents and capabilities, but does the most important person that matters in your life which is you, recognise it? Not always.

Most of the time we don´t because receiving compliments can feel uncomfortable, perhaps because you´re unused to them.

Listening to and believing those compliments can really boost your confidence.  Confidence hugely matters because it helps us to be prepared for whatever life might throw at us.

For some not succeeding (a FAIL) at a task is a First Attempt in Learning. For others a failure hits us hard and just the fear of failure can very often hold us back.
This week on  the #wednesdaywellbeing show I've got an amazing confidence building guest.

Charmaine Barber is The confidence coach, she's an artist and writer too and she will really help you to master and grow your confidence.

This week on the #wednesdaywellbeing show we discuss how to survive if you've a loved one struggling with addiction.

Alcohol, drugs, harmful substances are insidious and very present in many areas of our lives, communities, schools, and work place's as well as our social lives.

For some it's just for fun, others use in an attempt to cope with difficult emotions.
Because of the way the mind, body and brain responds, people can quickly become reliant, addictited and engage in harmful, negative behaviours.

But what about the friends and family members?

During lockdown 39% of people surveyed who were in recovery have relapsed. That is 39% are now negatively impacting their friends, family, and colleagues yet again.
26% of family members and 28% of friends surveyed have reported a relapse of their loved ones over the lockdown period.

When friends, colleagues or family members lives start spinning out of control. When their caos starts to hugely impact those around them. Who's there to support them?

It's suggested that for every addict there are 4 people impacted but in reality it's more like 12.

This week we take a deep dive into the reality of the impact of addiction on loved one's with Linda Easto and discuss her coaching programme and training courses specially set up to support people being affected by the negative behaviour of others struggling with addiction.

This week on the #wednesdaywellbeing show I'm chatting with super positive sunshiny Jennie Swift.

As a nurse for over 20 years she has always known the benefits of the 'therapeutic relationship' in addition to what conventional medicine can offer - actively listening to patients and clients, unconditional positive regard, and therapeutic touch.

Jennie was first introduced to hypnotherapy in her late 20's and after just 6 sessions she says her life was transformed forever.

From being a young person with a history of trauma she would worry about everything and hold deeply onto anxiety.
After a course of Hypnotherapy she became someone who could take on new challenges, stop worrying, accept and be kind to herself. Hypnotherapy revolutionised her life at that time!

It's hard to recognise the person she was before Hypnotherapy. She instinctively knew there was another way of living and there certainly was thanks to hypnotherapy 🙏

Jennie discovered Reiki in her late 30's and this amazing holistic therapy has helped her to overcome grief and lower vibrational states.

Hypnotherapy combined with Reiki are my go to therapies too in addition Jennie is a nutritional therapist, exercise and sound therapist, She uses aromatherapy, and meditation, which have all helped her to find another way of living - free from anxiety, lower vibrational emotions, lack of energy and motivation, prolonged grief, medical conditions, and brain altering medications.

This week Jennie shares with us that "once you start this holistic path there is no turning back because the benefits are immeasurable to your health and wellbeing".

As all nurses Jennie has devoted her life and career studying learning ina attempt to support and help all of her clients. She is qualified in Reflexology and Nutritional Therapy and Reiki, Hypnotherapy, and Sound Therapy a huge holistic toolkit.

Tonight Jennie share with us how to find another way of living, find better mental and physical health, and well-being.
There is always another way...

This week on the #wednesdaywellbeing show I'm delighted to be chatting with Mark Gregory who brings charisma, charm (and choons!) to the show.

Mark is a charismatic, young, male celebrant and entertainer providing hand-written ceremonies for all aspects of life.

Marks ultimate goal is to help you commemorate the most important moments in your life the way you want to – by ensuring that the ceremony is tailored specifically to you, and delivered with charm, wit, and aplomb – and perhaps a dash of music!

Let Mark... Mark Your Occasion!

Mark was actually given the idea of becoming a celebrant after his mum sadly passed away in September 2019. He was determined to play a large role in the organisation and presentation of his mums ceremony, because she was an incredibly special person loved by many in his small village, so he wanted to make sure she got the send-off she deserved.

He wrote a eulogy, which, as strange as it sounds, got rave reviews.

A few days later, the funeral director came to his door to tie up all the loose ends, and he told him that he'd make a good celebrant. That day, the seed was planted. Since then, Mark has been focusing his time on helping that seed to grow and blossom, and now, well, here we are.

This week on the #wednesdaywellbeing show I'm chatting with wife, mother, hypnotherapist and psychotherapist. Jade Gordon.

Jade specialises in working with parents, because she knows from her own experience that without good support things can be tough.

You’d never have expecting things to turn out that way they have if you had known Jade 10 years ago. Then she worked as a geophysicist in the oil and gas industry and loved her job. To say that pregnancy changed her is a massive understatement, it transformed her into a mother and a wife, but it also opened up her eyes to #hypnobirthing, #hypnotherapy and having the freedom to follow a passion.

Jade held Hypnobirthing classes in Aberdeen when she had a newborn and a toddler and she loved bringing her logical, science based mind to hypnobirthing, everything she teaches in her classes is based on logic and evidence. However, she felt that there was little support for the period after birth, she saw so many of her clients struggling to adjust over the first 5-10 years just the way she had.

And so Hypnoparenting was born! An amazing hypnosis based programme for parents, helping them take back control, it reduces overwhelm and helps parents find more joy in their lives.

This week on the #Tuesdayvibes show we discuss death...

We've all felt the impact of loosing a loved one. When we think of our own death it brings up alsorts of feelings, emotions and responses. Although most religions have rites of passage for the dead, their teachings about death itself are few and far between.

Religions' vagueness and mystery surrounding this subject is reinforced by death being a taboo topic and death is still hidden in many cultures.

The Buddha himself described death as the 'the greatest of all teachers', 'the sickness' and the most important example of impermanence.
Everything changes, we know that everything around us is changing. Our mind changes from moment to moment.
But our mind operates on fixed ideas.
For example good people will never act badly and a new car should not break down etc. And this difference between
the fixed thoughts of mind and changing reality causes all the problems of
non-acceptance that we have.

This week on the #Tuesdayvibes show we aim to #raiseyourvibration by talking about death and the benefits of an awareness of our mortality.

Join Amanda Joy Clinical Hypnotherapist, and Director of Studies The Northern College Of Clinical Hypnotherapy and Tara MC Senior Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) Compassionate Focused Therapy (CFT) and Psychotherapist as we look on the bright side of death.

Cozy clothes all day. No commute. Freedom to do house chores while on a conference call. Ahhh the Joys of working from home...

However, More than two thirds, or 69%, of employees are experiencing burnout symptoms while working from home, and this influx is impacting both business productivity as well as the overall health of the workforce.

If you think burnout just means being exhausted from your job, think again… Burnout is known to cause a litany of physical and mental conditions: high blood pressure, heart disease, obesity, a weakened immune system, anxiety, depression, cognitive decline, Alzheimer’s disease, and even death.

This week on the #wednesdaywellbeing show I'm chatting with That Havening Guy James Houghton.

Did you know that hugging is emotionally and physically healing and relieves stress and helps us connect with others.

In times when hugs are scarce Havening Techniques are really helpful.

Havening is a new psychosensory therapy developed by Dr Ronald A Ruden and his brother Dr Steven Ruden.
The therapy uses touch, self hugs and distraction to treat trauma, and the many ways that it manifests.

The method is based in biological science, and uses touch to generate a specific brain wave pattern called Delta waves.

Neurons talk to each other using electricity, voltage fluctuations, frequency fluctuations, and chemical messengers.

Havening helps with phobias, post traumatic injury, stress, high blood pressure, low blood pressure, panic attacks, exam nerves, road rage, flashbacks, reccuring nightmares, eating problems, goal setting, mood improvement and insomnia can all be mitigated or healed. Covid fatigue and depression can be minimised with the Havening Techniques
James has been a practitioner for 6 years, and has seen some amazing transformations.

This week on the #wednesdaywellbeing show I'm chatting mindfulness and the Mindful Pathway with Peter Fellows.

Peter was born in Coventry UK, and emigrated to Canada when he was just 2 yrs old, he grew up in Ottawa.

Peter has been exploring human potential since the late 70s. He was especially intrigued by psychic ability, but worked mostly with the more accepted practices of meditation, creative visualization, theta states, and dream work.

He has taught in a variety of New Age centers in Ottawa and Toronto where he met his wife Jeanne.

His pioneering work in lucid dreaming earned him a chapter contribution in the seminal text: CONSCIOUS MIND, SLEEPING BRAIN.

Since all of these practices offered up evidence of natural psychic abilities telepathy, remote viewing, psychokinesis, etc Peter went in to research these an inherent psychic human abilities.

This weeks interview is all about mindfulness, the mindful pathway and how Psi is an inherent human cognitive ability, that can be used by our non-consciousmind our subconscious to bring about balance, and to heal ourselves.

A really facinating, insightful and uplifting chat.

This week on the #wednesdaywellbeing show I'm chatting natural beauty with natural beauty experts Carollynn Croker and Jessica Leigh Mac Innes who are the founders of @Essential Embrace and Presenters on Awakened Podcasts.

The term ‘January Blues’ was coined for a reason. The effects of the excessive spending and overindulgence of Christmas are coming to fruition, New Year resolutions are falling by the wayside and the contrast between the festivities of the previous month and the dreariness of winter is very apparent. It can be a hard month for many, with reported stress-levels rising by a third, and it is even said to contain the most depressing day of the year, Blue Monday.

Worryingly for employers, all of this negative emotion can not only decrease productivity and increase sickness in the workplace, it also means that one in five employees think about resigning.

Self-care is important for both your physical and mental wellbeing, and absolutely crucial during times of increased stress or negative emotion. If you do not look after yourself, it can weaken your ability to cope with challenging situations.

Stress plays a big part in our lives, these ladies have first-hand experience in dealing with sensitive, re-active and allergy prone skin.

Variegate Porphyria is a hereditary disease that runs in our family, amongst several other afflictions, Porphyria affects the skin too, resulting in very delicate skin that is easily damaged, bruised and prone to lacerations at the slightest bump often resulting in skin infections as the lesions can take from several weeks to months to heal, leaving tissue scaring.

These ladies can empathise with those who suffer from extremely sensitive skin, we live daily with a condition that is still considered rare, prompting us to research as much as possible and educate ourselves. This journey resulting in the beginning of Essential Embrace. And I'm delighted to have then on this week's #wednesdaywellbeing show.

This week on the #wednesdaywellbeing show I'm chatting about Neuro-development and much more with the amazing Niki McGlynn.

We discuss what a neurodevelopment therapist is and how neurodevelopment therapy can help you or your child.

Simply put, neurodevelopment therapy is a way of giving the brain and neurological system a second chance at development. When some of the developmental stages are missed, primitive reflexes don't get a chance to develop properly or develop and remain active when they should have gone away. A reflex is an action that the body has no conscious control over, such as closing your eyes when you sneeze. We are most familiar with the moro reflex in babies, when they startle and fling their arms wide, then cling and cry. Reflex movements, which start from 5 weeks in utero, build the nervous system, allow the brain and body to organise and develop so that eventually you can stand, move, think and function with ease.

When these processes don't develop as they should then problems can develop such as poor focus, balance, impulse control, anxiety, social interaction, reading and writing, sensory processing and other issues. Children then get labelled and lose their confidence. In many cases, all that is required is a reorganisation of the neurological system.

A neurodevelopment programme can be used as a stand alone therapy or can be used alongside any other programme or treatment.

Niki shares with us about the increadedible healing work she does. This show is an inspirational breath of fresh air with some increadedible advice not to be missed.

This week on the #wednesdaywellbeing show I'm chatting with Heather Booker, Soul Coach and a Complementary Therapist.

In days gone by, people would hibernate somewhat in the winter. Tools would be repaired, activities went from tending the earth to resting. Though there were worries about food and fuel lasting through the dark times, it was a quieter more restful time of the year.

Heather is a holistic therapist, a soul and wellbeing coach. She's worked with literally thousands of people and helped them to heal physically and emotionally.

She provides them with the tools they need to allow themselves to heal.

On this weeks show we take a deep, slow breath, pause for a while, take some time to listen and enjoy as Heathers words and musings inspire you.

Life is nothing without connections. Deep, soul connections are like the sunshine to a flower. Completely necessary to help us grow.

Without growth nothing changes. Without expansion our world diminishes. Take some time and make a commitment to your growth. Allow change to happen.

Frightening, exhilarating, necessary. We all see change differently. Some of us thrive on it, others find it fearful. It’s an absolute fact of life. Dare to change. Heather Booker is both a Soul Coach and a Complementary therapist bringing together a combination of energy and body work with coaching. She uses insightful tools to help you move through periods of transition, emerge from being stuck and re-connect back to the highest, best version of yourselves.

Whether you’re struggling through a transition stage, looking to grow or deepen your spiritual practice, or asking yourself those deep, important questions to life, love and soul don't miss this show.
Take a deep breath, sit a moment, grab a cuppa and let’s connect.

This week on the #wednesdaywellbeing show we are exploring the health benefits of art.

For centuries people have used art as a way to express their feelings and improve their well-being. From a very young age, we instinctively use drawing, painting or modeling clay as a way to communicate, reduce stress and express emotions. But as adults, we often forget about the beneficial effects of art.

Art therapy, conducted under the supervision of a skilled therapist is there to remind us that, apart from its creative value, art is a valuable tool for preventing sickness, improving health and overall well-being.

This week I'm chatting with ceramic artist and meditation teacher Sarah Core

Sarah works with the physical, mindful and repetitive process of making in clay. She began working with clay following a life-threatening accident and her recovery was both an internal and external one, integrating the two to reach wholeness. She trained as a reiki master, crystal healer, and meditation teacher and went back to university and studied ceramics at Central st Martin’s college of art and design.

Sarah's work with ceramics is all about building and wellbeing. Her approach to making is an extension of meditation and her courses combine the process of meditation with the soft responder that clay can be.

This week on the #wednesdaywellbeing show I'm chatting with the lovely Lisa King.

Lisa is known as 'The clarity trailblazer'. Helping people fulfil their brilliance to live life on their terms.

She's an international author, speaker and TEDx speaker and the co-author of a series of inspirational books.

The first in the series came out on the 30th of September 2020, is available on Amazon and they're called 'Stories of Truth and Triumph'.

These amazing books share the

challenges, trauma and difficulties that 15 inspirational individuals went through.

Their life experiences and their rise from the ashes to overcome trauma, hardship, and mental wellbeing struggles.

All the proceeds from the books are going towards a beautiful charity called Megan's Space.

Megan was 20 years old when she took her own life. The first books launch date marked a year since Megan took her life and honours her by helping other young people facing mental health challenges.

Today I'm chatting with Lisa about her difficult teenage years and her story of how she lost her partner, overcame ill health and the unhealthy coping mechanisms she had in place. Lisa refers to this as an unmasking process.

She dug deep into her past to understand where the masks had come from, these included, the joker, the people pleaser and the Lone Ranger. All of these masks were either coping mechanisms or a way to connection that she desperately needed.

Lisa shares how to unmask, be more authentic and deeply heal.

This week on the #wednesdaywellbeing show we go scifi-tastic as we discuss amazing virtual reality therapy.  We get to grips with powerful pain relieving therapies that focus on light touch techniques that rebalance the body.

Ian Macclumpa my expert guest this week is a retired police officer with 26 years’ service. Ian had a truly remarkable healing experience that led him to do the work he does now.

This week we discuss PSIOUS VR therapy.

With VR therapy Ian can create real-life scenarios and adapt and control them to suit the individual needs of clients.

We get to grips with The EMMETT Technique and how the body reacts in a similar way to the workings of a touch-screen. Small sensors allow access to the brain via the therapists’ touch. As well as the ability to directly influence muscle actions.

And we chat about my favourite subjects Clinical Hypnotherapy and MSTR Scar Tissue release. We discuss how scar tissue can adversely affect the fascia, that super signal highway to the brain and how Ians modern approaches work with the mind and body to overcome fears, phobias, release pain, trauma, and much more.

This week on the #wednesdaywellbeing show I'm chatting with Sian Evans from Nurtured Living. We speak about how we can live well and recover from trauma by falling in love with ourselves.

I have heard the story countless times.

A client comes in confused, hurt, and disheartened, wondering what happened to the fairytale romance, that perfect job with the great boss or that ongoing challenge with a family member. It may have started off great perhaps a prince charming, soulmate, supportive, person of your dreams, swept you off your feet, attentive, charismatic, so honest and commited. Then things change!

Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) like most mental health or personality disorders, isn’t black and white.

There are often multiple complications. Maybe you no longer feel like the person you used to be. Perhaps you feel more anxious and less confident than you used to be, often wondering if you’re being too sensitive. You feel like everything you do is wrong and maybe even question your own sanity.

This week we discuss what NPD is, how you spot it, and what you do. We outline unacceptable behaviors and reactions in the context of a loving, equitable partnership and discuss how you can heal and become stronger as a result of the negative experiences you've had.

This week on the #wednesdaywellbeing show I'll be talking about life saving transformations and becoming free from drugs and alcohol with the inspirational Lucy.

As people across the UK and the rest of the world contend with coronavirus, as a community we should be alert to the possibility that this challanging time could hit some populations with substance use disorders particularly hard.

Individuals with a substance use disorders are more likely to experience homelessness, jail or worse.

While many support groups and services have gone online those most vulnerable seem to have been left behind.
We discuss how to get that help if you are in need in times where the pubs are open but the life saving supportive groups are closed.

Acupuncture has been shown to down-regulate the areas of the brain responsible for pain, stress, anxiety and worry. We discuss the currently used medical model for mental wellbeing and how with advancement in knowledge and holistic therapies we can support people in a more effective way.

This week on the #wednesdaywellbeing show I'm chstting with The President and founder of the CMA JayneyGoddard.

Jayney has spent many years studying mind, body medicine.
She is one of the world’s leading experts in the natural youth and anti-ageing arena and it’s her mission to empower you with all the tips and techniques you need, to look smoking hot AND be happier, healthier, brainier, sexier, stress resilient, leaner, energetic and more joyful than you ever imagined!

Initially a ballerina, Jayney “accidentally” joined the circus as an aerial artiste, which required travel to some of the most far-flung and primitive places in the world. During this time, when there was no access to conventional medicines, she witnessed first-hand the phenomenal power of natural, folk medicines and it was this that inspired her to train in a range of complementary medical disciplines.

Jayney is now founder and president of The Complementary Medicine Association (The CMA) and founder and co-chair of the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine. She has a Master of Science post-graduate degree from UCLan, England; trained in Mind/Body Medicine at Harvard Medical School, USA, under Dr Herbert Benson (the “father” of Mind/ Body Medicine); and runs an international practice in which she uses a range of natural medicine approaches to help clients reach their fullest health potential.

Due to Jayney’s extensive training, she always ensures her recommendations are grounded in robust scientific research – so that both her clients, and readers, know her suggestions are fully proven to work.

Jayney says, “Mindset is 99 per cent of the battle. If I can do it, you can too! And I’m here to be your guide on this incredible journey.”

Why Jayney is so passionate about natural approaches to wellness and natural antiaging:

Over the last 30 years, Jayney has dedicated her life to working with people suffering from chronic lifestyle-related conditions, as she herself experienced a life-threatening illness that left her wheelchair-bound for ten years. At her lowest point, she was in hospice care, weighing only 5.5 stone (35kg; 77lbs), and not expected to survive. As a result, she aged dramatically from a “biological” perspective, measuring in at 55 when she was, in reality, only 36. However, Jayney knew in her heart that she had the ability to beat the illness via natural methods, and she did! After coming up with all the recommendations that she writes about in her latest book; “Rewind Your Body Clock – The Complete Natural Guide to a Happier, Healthier, Younger You”, Jayney managed not only to get healthy – but also to rewind her own body clock in the process! Now 55, Jayney’s biological clock shows that her body, mind and physical capabilities are a mere 27!

After over 20 years spent immersed in the science of touch, massage therapy and energy healing. I can tell you that touch is far more important than we realise.

Touch is our primary language of compassion, it's the main way we give, receive, experience and feel connection, compassion and love.

Massage therapists can easily tell what massage establishments are legitimate and where someone would go to get a happy ending.

For some reason, the public and recently the government demonstrated that they don't quite get it.

Massage therapists spend years investing time and money going to school, becoming qualified yet we still get lumped in with sex workers?

Wouldn’t it be simple if you could hang a sign on the door of your business stating that you don’t mix sex and massage?

Well Joyce Gauthier my fantastic guest this week on the #wednesdaywellbeing show is the founder of the respect massage movement has done just that. The respect massage movement aims to educate the public about the massive health benefits of massage and empower therapists to be able to work in safe environments.

This weeks guest on the #wednesdaywellbeing show is Kundalini yoga teacher and men's work facilitator Jote Prakash Singh.

Jote Prakash has spent much of his life craving elevation and ecstatic states. From being young and finding it through high-octane extreme sports such as parkour and skateboarding to being a teenager and looking for it through drugs and alcohol.

After a spiritual awakening that was un-grounded and happened too quickly (the doctors called it psychosis, we call it 'The Big Trip') he was gifted the chance to do Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training at The Rising Dawn Sanctuary; a Whole-istic Centre Jote Prakash and his Mum have set up in East Yorkshire.
And so, through the practice, at age 18, he came to the realisation that all the joyful and hightened states in the Universe can be inspired within ourselves - he still loves parkour of course but the drugs and alcohol have been shown the door.

This week on the #wednesdaywellbeing show I chat with James Gopala about the process of spiritual transformation currently occurring on the planet.

We chat about this with particular reference to the Coranavius and how we can manage our anxieties and fears during these times.

With the new OFCOM guidance I am unable to broadcast the interview with Mark Steele on this weeks podcast.

However, this gives me a fantastic opportunity to share the interview I did with Helen in January 2020.

She is just so inspiring having fully recovered from a serious assault that left her paralyzed and surviving a terminal illness.

She is true testament to the power of a positive mindset, the power of the mind, self-love, self-care, community, and Holistic medicine.

On the #wednesdaywellbeing show this week we are talking yoga, mindfulness, meditation, releasing trauma and healthier happier pregnancy and birth.

Sally Roach is a Yoga mindfulness and compassion teacher. Tonight we chat about how through her own healing of an eating disorder and chronic fatigue she discovered the benefits of yoga and meditation.

When there is trauma in the system, we may be managing ok and not aware that there is a problem and then an event happens… a loss, an accident, the trauma of this isolation under covid 19 ….and it can be the straw that broke the camels back and the dysregulation becomes out of control.

Our anxiety goes sky high or we shut down into freeze or we may swing between the 2. Maybe we don’t have access to our usual coping mechanisms…the gym, going out socialising and drinking, retail therapy so tonight we chat about what we can do at home.

Tonight I'll also be chatting with Vicky from kalma Mammas.
Kalma mamas offers pre, post and aqua natal yoga to expectant mothers
in south Tyneside. She also teaches yoga and mindfulness classes to babies from 6 weeks to 18 years.
They've done a fantastic job of adapting all their services so they can still support you during Covid19 lockdown with remote yoga classes. She'll be providing top advice on juggling home life with new way of working and how there are lots of positives coming from this time.

This week in the #wednesdaywellbeing show I'll be chatting with internationally certified Personal Trainer Sam Blakey. Sam is the owner of Oobermama.

She built up a successful boutique fitness company, Ooberfit, shortly after qualifying as a PT in 2012, whilst living with her family in Singapore,.

Prior to returning to the UK, she had built up a reputation as the foremost pre and post natal coach there and her company was voted Best Fitness Provider in Singapore two years in succession, by a national magazine.

On returning to the UK in 2017, she settled in Harrogate and spotting a gap in the market, decided to focus on her pre and post natal
specialisms.

As well as a woman’s health coach, she is a Certified Pilates Instructor and one of only nine senior trainers with UKHypopressives.

Hypopressives is a unique core-restoring, low pressure breathing technique that helps clients safely reconnect the all important core muscles.

With five children of her own, Sam fully understands the toll giving birth has on mums and credits working alongside women’s health physios in Singapore as invaluable in ensuring she could give these mums the most appropriate pre and post-natal workouts.

Sam also works with women with more severe rehab issues, such as abdominal separation, prolapse, bladder incontinence and poor posture, using Hypopressives to great effect.

“When I moved back to the UK, I decided to primarily focus on training women and particularly pre and post-natal fitness, drawing on the experience I had gained working alongside women’s health physios and from leading Mums & Tums, Pilates, HIIT and Boxing FIT classes over the past six years. I love helping to give women a leg-up on their journey to fitness through carefully designed fitness programmes, videos and - as a former journalist - informative blogs.”

This week I'll also be talking with Laura Hellfeld, a nurse consultant, sleep practitioner, children's yoga teacher and the founder of koko pie families.

Her organisation supports the mental wellbeing of parents and caregivers.
She specifically specialises in working with neuro divergent children and children who have experienced trauma.

Her work reaches a multitude of families and children who are looking for new ways to better connect and communicate within the family.

She teachers strategies that encourage and lift up children. We will be chatting about how you can better communicate with your children to support them through challenging times and we will be talking about the training she provides not just for parents but for care givers and therapists so they can create successful and inclusive practices.

Following on with our December theme of a Concious Christmas I'm delighted to be chatting with Dheep, a writer and bestselling author of ‘A New York Kind of Love’.

Her inspirational book is a memoir of her life and how that spun out of control reaching the point where she started her day with cocaine, and the party kept going 7 days a week.

From the outside looking in Dheep seemed to have it all. She had moved to New York and had hit it big in investment banking. She had that sex in the city lifestyle, money, clothes, awesome apartment, and she had it all but, was utterly miserable.

Finally she found the courage to quit. And I'm delighted to have her on this weeks show to share her story.

As its Christmas we've invited Joseph Omoragbon from living faith church South Shields to share a Christmas message of Joy. Jesus is the reason for the season.
