Dr Jo Thomas joins us to discuss the relationship between a General Practitioner and patient and all things in between - finding the perfect GP, building a strong working relationship and maintaining trust. Dr Thomas details the role that a GP holds in the journey of helping patients find the correct treatment. Jami and Dr Thomas also discuss what patients can do to advocate for themselves especially those who live with invisible chronic illnesses and feel that they are unheard and not properly understood by their GP.
Justine Flynn, co-founder of Thankyou, joins Jami as she talks about how she built a social enterprise while navigating burnout. She talks through the various chronic health obstacles that she faced along her journey in building her brand.
This week Jami speaks with Sean Dela Cruz, an intern at Chronic Hope as he shares his journey - from a brain tumor, to a brain surgery and a movement disorder. He talks about the challenges he faced being sick during his final year of high school. He speaks about the importance of support groups and gives advice to those who face similar challenges.
Katya joins us this week as she shares how she started her Instagram @positivelychronictravels - sharing resources to live and travel with chronic illness. She walks us through how she plans and organises her holidays: from choosing a location, managing crashes and dealing with food intolerances.
Jessica (@chronicallycss) joins Jami this week as they chat about life during lockdown and living with chronic illness. Jessica shares her journey with Central Sensitisation Syndrome and how life is in lockdown. She shares some of the coping mechanisms she's been using - particularly meditation and relaxation techniques - and other tips to stay positive during these times.
