Ryan “Koup” Kuperus spent 17+ years in the Infantry, Reconnaissance, and Force Reconnaissance Communities before being Medically Retired in 2017. He has always had a passion for the outdoors and hunting, and that passion has only grown over the years. Koup is a highly decorated combat veteran including a Navy Commendation Medal with Valor and a Purple Heart Medal.
In 2007 he was in Humvee rollover breaking his femur, his back, and as he sat at home he realized he was broken physically and mentally. He needed to do something to avoid spiraling out of control. So he picked up a bow, starting hobbling around in the woods with a back brace. What he found was healing not physically, but mentally and spiritually. Being in the woods was better therapy than he received from any doctors office or any prescription medication.
The Reason Outdoors was founded by GWOT veterans to take veterans, first responders, and their children on hunting trips, fishing trips, and other outdoor adventures for the sole purpose of sharing all the healthy and positive reasons we hunt and fish.

The SKS was adopted by the Soviet Union in 1946 and manufactured by the USSR until 1955. The SKS was designed by the famed Russian arms inventor Sergei Simonov. It is a gas-operated, semi-automatic rifle used during World War 2. In 1946 SKS production is shifted from USSR to the Peoples Republic of China (Type 56) to support the newly emerging communist regime. Because of its light recoil and moderate weight, the SKS can achieve 35 rounds per minute of aimed fire. Tune in for more!

Radom, Poland was founded in 1340, the city is famous for its small arms production. In 1998 Michael purchased a portion of the old Circle 11 factory to produced high quality Greener-style double barrel side-by-side with exposed hammer shotguns for cowboy action competition. Pioneer Arms Corp. USA was established January 2, 2001. Pioneer Arms Corp. Poland was established November 18, 2002 by the owners of Pioneer Arms USA. In 2004 Pioneer Arms Poland moved to the facilities of the former Circle 11 factory. At present time Pioneer Arms owns two buildings located at former Circle 11 plant, with over 50,000 sqft.
All manufacturing is completed in the Circle 11 Plant in Radom, Poland by many of the original employees from the previous Circle 11 operation. PAC acquired complete sets of the original technical specifications documents of Kalashnikov firearms produced by the Circle 11 Radom Factory, including AK-47, AKM-47, AKMS-47, Tantal (AKM variant in 5.45×39 caliber), Beryl 5.56×45, PPS-43, PM63 and others, with rights to produce these weapons. All 922r compliance and assembly is done by Pioneer Arms Corp USA.

The heart of MEAN Arms Bearing Delay Upper Receiver is the unique ball bearing bolt carrier group (BCG). The ball bearings interface with corresponding features in the barrel extension and provide the lockup in battery and the delay after firing. The bolt face includes a unique center ejector to provide the most consistent ejection of any 9mm AR on the market. Next up Michael Meier founder of M+M Industries sits down with Lefty to talk about their hybrid AK The M10X. The M10X was designed utilizing many proven features around the world. The M10X uses the long-stroke gas piston operating system with a rotating bolt. On top of that, the rifle uses a front recoil system combining elements from Swiss rifle design and Kalashnikov’s design. The rifle uses an adjustable gas valve to be adapted to any load or paired with a suppressor using custom suppressor settings. Ambidextrous controls similar to rifles of Western origin give the rifle the advantage of being compatible with both right and left-handed shooters.

Founded in 2010, Sheep Dog Impact Assistance (SDIA) is a national non-profit founded and headquartered in Rogers, Arkansas, that provides charitable services benefiting the overall well-being of our nation’s “Sheep Dogs” (Veterans, Law Enforcement, Fire & Rescue, and EMS personnel) through Get Off The Couch programming. SDIA exists to engage, assist and empower our nation’s heroes through Outdoor Adventures (physical activity), Warrior PATHH training (mental wellness) and Continued Service/Disaster Response (volunteerism) programs.
Our nation’s heroes have an innate desire to serve, and their service gives meaning and purpose to their lives. After an injury or shift/tour of duty ends, that meaning and purpose is often lost. Post-traumatic stress, injuries, depression, addiction, and isolation plague our Sheep Dogs to the point of thinking about and/or attempting suicide. Through our Get Off The Couch programming, Sheep Dogs who have suffered similar traumas & experiences gather together for camaraderie and opportunities to continue serving, which helps prevent suicides in our Veteran and First Responder communities.
Joining SDIA in opportunities for physical activities to foster camaraderie (Outdoor Adventures), peer-to-peer training to transform struggle into strength and posttraumatic growth (Warrior PATHH), and volunteer opportunities for continued service (Disaster Response), a Sheep Dogs’ innate desire to serve is again fulfilled. When Sheep Dogs #GetOffTheCouch together, their attitude and perspective are drastically improved, and many find healing and a renewed sense of purpose and belonging.
