toxic/adjective: containing or being poisonous material especially when capable of causing death or serious debilitation, extremely harsh, malicious, or harmful.
This is how Merriam-Webster defined the word toxic, but it could easily be the definition of when alcohol enters my body. To my body, alcohol is poison; with abstinence from consumption the only remedy. Just for some context, I blacked out the first time I ever over consumed alcohol at the age of 17 and God only knows how many times between then and my sobriety date, November 21, 2012. The reality is that my body has never processed alcohol properly and, to be honest, I'm forever grateful that is my story. Let’s talk toxic Time!
