The HYE Life is about Honoring Yourself Everyday. In essence, this is about tuning out the noise, and tuning in to yourself-- not who others expect you to be or who you used to be, but who you are now, with the understanding that that determines who you become and the life you continue to lead. Whether you have 10 minutes or 2 hours, whether you're looking to improve upon your health, mindset, wealth, general wellbeing, or simply want to expand your relationship to your self and those around you, this podcast has something for everyone. Ready to feel the HYE? Let's dive in.

Join me on another walk for this personal growth update episode! I share my reflections on a recent trip a took to round out my 27th year of life and share how the last year has been both one of the best and darkest years of my life-- because two opposing truths can, and often do, go hand in hand.
PS - I forgot to mention in the episode that my best friend who came with me to France is someone I only met in this past year, in large part because of the challenging things I was going through. Just one example (among many) that constantly remind me of the mantra, "So much good will come from this."
Some topics that come up:
imposter syndrome, feeling the fear and doing it anyway
saying yes to opportunities you don't feel "ready" for
The reality of facing your own growth and resilience
Growing from a past relationship, facing triggers
Sharing the good in your life without the guilt
Your misery doesn't lessen that of others; you sharing your light only ignites others
How quickly things change
How light can only come from darkness: all your challenges are helping you grow to find the sense of self you didn't know was possible

When it comes to self-healing and personal development, it's easy to get trapped in the belief that the work must be done in a vacuum-- that in order for it to be "self-healing" and "self-development" it must be done alone; that you shouldn't be in partnership until you've done all the work on yourself. So what's love got to do with it?
Every relationship, no matter how long or what transpires, is a lesson. Whether romantic or platonic, familial or acquaintance, every relationship in which we find ourselves offers an opportunity to notice our relational patterns, how we form our bonds and connections, and brings light to all our complex layers that individual work can't reveal.
Join me and my dear friend and Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist Julia Perretta as we explore the topics of attachment styles, personal development through partnership, beliefs around the "ideal" relationship, "failed relationships," the motivation behind being in relationship, codependency and its root cause, and so much more.
Julia specializes in working with couples and individuals utilizing somatic and attachment-informed approaches. She encourages healing through authentic embodiment, connection, humor, love and engagement with the things that bring you joy. She is also a certified yoga and meditation teacher and shares these practices with her community and clients.

We are all born with an insatiable curiosity to discover our world. We open our eyes and take in our surroundings with all of our senses, letting our bodies do the exploring. Somewhere along the way, we are taught that the world is a dangerous place and that we are vulnerable to all its whims and follies-- "curiosity killed the cat," as the adage goes. We are taught to fear our own curiosity lest it get us into trouble, whether it be punishment, physical pain, heartbreak, grief, psychological trauma, or death. And while we can appreciate and honor our biology's survival mechanisms, we often do so to a detriment-- losing our sense of wonder and magic, and moving about life with less curiosity and more projection-- casting our learned and conditioned assumptions, biases, and past experiences onto whatever (and whoever) is in front of us, all for the sake of maintaining a sense of security and self-preservation.
In time, we become blind to our biases, our expectations, our personal narratives, and even to what we know (or what we think we know). We move through life, blind to our blindness, cutting ourselves off from leading fully embodied lives.
What if instead, we approached everything as though it was the very first time we saw it? heard it? felt it?
What if, instead of living in fear, we lived in opportunity?
What if we nurtured our curiosity, and in doing so, stayed open to greater possibilities?
What if, when we noticed our curiosity kicking in, we fueled it rather than extinguished it?
What if we took that class, rented that book, listened to that TedTalk, asked the questions and actually stayed quiet and open and present long enough to hear their answers?
What if, when we catch ourselves wondering how something works, how it's done, or what it would be like, we gave ourselves permission to indulge in our curiosity? What if we go find out?

Vulnerability is of integral importance in our lives and personal development. While often seen as a weakness, vulnerability is an incredible strength and is often that "missing piece" in relationships that allows us to be fully authentic and understood-- when shared in the right way.
Vulnerability not only forges deeper connections with those we entrust with our truth, but it allows us to begin to integrate into our identities the very parts of ourselves we have felt ashamed of or abandoned, and gives others the permission (they've been unwittingly seeking outside of themselves) to do the same.
That said, as publicly sharing vulnerability is becoming more of a thing, it's common to feel pressure to be vulnerable for the sake of being seen as "authentic," but if we aren't respectful of boundaries or sharing with the right intentions, we can end up oversharing and causing more harm than healing-- for yourself and for those you are trying to connect with or serve.

When was the last time you created just for the sake of creation, without all the pressure that comes with needing it to be a “good idea,” visually pleasing, or profitable?
For many, we lose touch with our inner creator when we reach that certain point in our youth where the world suddenly asks more of us than to simply experience the joys and wonders it has to offer; when we are told to leave our imagined worlds behind and come back to reality; when we aren’t recognized by institutions or society at large as “artistically inclined,” and so we are told to spend our time and efforts on something more lucrative. And even for those who have the natural talent, the pressure to make something of oneself through their art is often enough to disconnect them from it.
But creation isn’t reserved for the artistically talented, nor is it restricted to sensory mediums. We create every day with our thoughts, choices, and actions that make up our life experience, and when we are blocked or stifled creatively, we become blocked in our lives.
Reconnecting with and nurturing your inner creative is vital to allow for greater self-expression and self-awareness, and as a result, a sense of empowerment, purpose and autonomy in creating an aligned and authentic reality for yourself.

This episode welcomes to the show Human Design expert Brigit Ritchie to walk us through the basics of HD and how we can harness its offerings to honor our individuality and build stronger relationships. According to Ritchie, Human Design is a lens through which we honor our unique wiring, create space to own our truth and accept others more fully, and find enjoyment in taking the risk to live from your wiring so you can connect and contribute to your greater community. By understanding your design, which is your unique energy flow, you will feel more connected in your relationships and do your best work from a place of intuitive abundance.
I highly recommend checking out your own Human Design chart as you listen, and then booking a session with Brigit! She offers free 20-min consultations, as well.

Is resistance a good or bad thing? What about "taking the path of least resistance?"
When taking action or saying yes to an opportunity causes feelings of fear and discomfort to arise, it can be hard to know whether to lean in or walk away. Is this fear coming up because the situation requires me to be vulnerable? To try something new? To put myself out there in a way that is stretching my comfort zone?
Or is this my intuition telling me to get the hell out, because this is not meant for me? That this could be harmful to myself or others? That this is not true to who I am?
This is a topic that always comes up with my private coaching clients, and there is a simple process to getting clear on what these feelings are trying to tell you.

It's been one year since I first recovered my cycle, so I thought I'd share an update on how things are going! If you are also experiencing or recovering from HA, it's important to remember that recovery extends beyond getting your cycle back, and that long-term healing takes time, grace, and a boatload of self-compassion. I share my story in the hopes that it provides some comfort, relief, and support for you in whatever challenge you're currently facing, health or otherwise. There is always an opportunity to grow.

This bonus episode is a re-air of my interview on the podcast Pick A Topic with Leah Rice aired Jan 31, 2021. Leah interviewed me on my own self-healing story, from how I first got into health coaching and how that has shifted into the kind of self-healing and holistic life coaching that I do now; my journey through restrictive dieting from a young age, body image, and healing my relationship with food and movement; finding my true self and authentic voice throughout this process and how it has expanded my entire world. *Minor edits have been made for length, and original episode can be found here. The first half of the episode covers some morning habits I've adapted for healthier hormones, including the benefits of morning sunlight exposure and the importance of eating breakfast for metabolic healing and re-regulating your hunger signals after restrictive habits.
Then we shift gears and get into the "quantity vs. quality" mindset when it comes to doing the scary thing of putting your work out into the world, especially when you're a recovering perfectionist like yours truly!

We all have expectations that we set for ourselves, for situations, and for others. As humans, we have the incredible power of imagination. We dream and we tell stories, automatically creating a set of ideals for how things and people ought to be... how they “should” be.
Some of the time, we can catch our expectations and recognize when they aren't realistic or fair, but not always. And it's those subtle expectations-- the stealthy ones-- that go under our radar and no longer feel like expectations but feel like facts. These are the most dangerous to our wellbeing, our self worth, our goals, and our relationships.
This episode covers how to go about catching our perfectionism and expectations before they take over our behavior, relationships, goals, and ultimately our lives. These tools and takeaways will help you to not only unpack your anxiety and difficult emotions, but be more present and compassionate towards ourselves and others.

This is a topic that comes up all the time in my client sessions, and is something we all go through every now and then. The key is (as with pretty much everything we do here on The HYE Life) to look at what is going on beneath the surface. This episode offers two important aspects of what is happening to us energetically and mentally when we are going through a period of feeling stuck, unmotivated, uninspired, and unproductive, and offers a way to move through with self-compassion and grace.

After discovering that her "healthy" habits were actually the cause of her absent cycles (hypothalamic amenorrhea), Dani Sheriff began channeling her frustration with societal expectations on women's bodies through her childhood hobby: drawing and illustration. She quickly learned that there was a need to help other women with HA and share her own experience, and The HA Podcast was born. Soon after, she created The HA Society, an online membership community offering support, guidance, and tools for women recovering from hypothalamic amenorrhea. In this epic discussion, I share reflections on my recovery journey as we dive into Danny's story, how she not only recovered her periods but her life, and turned her experience into a career.
We also get into...
How creativity helped me in my own journey
Releasing the limiting belief that doing the easy thing is a cop out
A tangent on why finding your "talents" should be taken off a pedestal
The importance of community and support in this healing journey Her membership community, The HA Society, and what its all about
How HA is becoming more and more well-known, and the information is consistent: trust your body and nourish it properly.
How expanding her life outside of food + fitness was the key to her recovery and tapping into her aligned self
Breaking up with "fitness" as an identity
Getting pregnant after HA and the expectations fitness marketing places on women's pregnancy bodies
Recovery and dating/marriage
How recovery opens you up to more opportunities, relationships and deeper connection and compassion
How recovery made us better people
Getting stuck in quasi-recovery
Reprograming restrictive food thoughts
Slip ups and letting go of perfectionism in recovery

“There is a grief that occurs in your healing. They don’t talk about that so much. It’s a messy, complicated, beautiful and raw place, To have so much unconditional love for the person you once were, a person who wanted to be anybody but themselves.”— excerpt from a little personal reading I give during the episode (let me know if you like when I do these!)
Grief has a very heavy and often negative connotation, and understandably so. In the thick of it, it weighs on you like sandbags tied to your ankles. But it's when we try to ignore our grief, when we trudge forward without pausing to really embrace it and feel it, that our journey is slowed and we drag our feet— and our past.
But if there’s anything that my self-healing process has shown me, time and again, its that grief is good. It has so much to reveal to you. Sit with it, and you’ll see that it isn’t sand bags on your ankles, but a shoreline showing you the horizon, calling you to be fully present to the beauty that is caught in the inbetween, of the day that is setting, and the next that will come to rise.
This episode is for those who need to hear it most, and to know you aren’t alone. Grief— whether for your past self, for your past relationship, for your old dreams— can feel really isolating. but when we open our hearts to it and don’t close it off to others, it can be a place of profound connection, compassion, and more love than you knew you were capable of.

This special episode features audio from a coaching session with one of my private 1:1 clients who was coming up against fears and doubts around pushing her comfort zone, trying something new, and going after her goals of teaching yoga. Our session covered several powerful (yet extremely common!) limiting beliefs within the realm of perfectionism and how we shape our identity (and ultimately our worth) around our work, productivity, and outcomes.

Inspired by an unexpectedly uplifting conversation with an internet customer service representative, we talk about the concept of doing less in order to do more: doing less of what isn't serving you, to do more of what lights you up and moves you forward. We go over two simple yet incredibly powerful questions I love to ask my clients in order to recognize the ways in which we give up our power each day, both by doing more of what we don't want to do, and less of what we love.

Self-healing is, in essence, healing your relationship with yourself. It is about uncovering and mending the beliefs that are forming the basis of your behaviors and lifestyle choices that aren't actually serving you.
For me, that meant shedding an identity that centered around nutrition and fitness culture-- two things that I thought were serving me, but were actually keeping me stuck in an unhealthy place and causing me to misplace my sense of self and self-worth.
If I could speak directly to my past self, this is what I would say. Because of that, this episode feels a bit scary to put out into the world because it is specific and vulnerable, but thats how I am hoping to connect with those who need to hear this message the most.
If this resonates with you and you are looking for greater support in your self-healing journey, I invite you to work with me for private coaching. Head to my coaching page to submit the inquiry form, and we'll get started!

One of the biggest things keeping people stuck where they are is the belief that they need to make big changes in order to experience a real shift in their lives. But the opposite is true-- the biggest shifts often come from the smallest of changes.
This episode walks you through 4 simple yet incredibly powerful ways to go about making shifts that feel doable and that you can implement right away.

Sometimes the best interview episodes are the ones where nothing is planned and we just roll with whatever is top of mind. That's exactly what you're getting in this chat with my dear friend and movement teacher/healer, Riki Rosenthal @Riki_Wellness. We met on our teacher training in Bali earlier this year (throwback to pre-Covid) and we've been supporting each other in our entrepreneurial and personal growth journeys ever since. I wanted to bring Riki onto the show because she is incredibly down to earth, so honest and real, and brings out the same in me. She happens to be an amazing yoga teacher, acupuncturist, and embodiment coach. We discuss all of this and more in this fun girls chat. Enjoy!

Most of us find ourselves diving into our self development journeys after the catalyst of an identity crisis. And in the thick of that uncertainty, all of that questioning, all of that uprooting, it can be difficult to be present to the exponential growth that is taking place.
I have had my fair share of identity crises over the last few years: when I first realized I didn't want to work in fashion anymore; when I decided I wanted to start The HYE Life, and again with this podcast; when I realized I wanted to leave NYC and travel without any sort of plan; all throughout my recovery to regain my cycles and restore my relationship with food, exercise, and my body; when I decided to move back to Boston last month, all just to name just a few. And the thing about identity shifts is, once you have your first one, they just keep coming!
But today's episode talks about why this is not only a good thing, but a great thing, and something we can embrace with curiosity, appreciation, resilience, and excitement. As you dive deeper into your self-discovery, the more identity shifts you will encounter and the more aligned with your HYEr self you become.

The HYE Life is about honoring yourself every day. And by that, we refer to your whole Self, your entire Self-- mind, body, and spirit. One of the incredible benefits of working on your Self through a holistic and integrative lens is getting a variety of perspectives on your current situation or condition and the Self discovery that comes with it. Eastern medicine practices such as acupuncture and herbal medicine, while they work on the physical body, are rooted in spirituality and emotional wellbeing via the energetics of the body. THIS I find incredibly fascinating, and it made a profound impact on my own healing journey.
Today's guest, Dr. Bita Yadidi, is a doctor of eastern medicine and owner of the Beverly Hills wellness clinic, Wellness To Be. She is helping busy, overwhelmed and stressed women worldwide through her in-person and virtual practice to find their unique path and experience a holistic lifestyle transformation - so they finally feel physically energized, mentally clear, emotionally grounded, spiritually attuned, and relationally connected.

While it's important to take the time to be with your emotions and understand them, sometimes what we really need is to take some space and perspective. But there is a fine line between taking healthy distance from your healing, and distracting yourself as a means of avoidance. Today's episode dives into the difference between the two, some examples of what they might look like, and why you don't have to wait until you're healed to find happiness.

Today's episode hyelights Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams to share his healing journey that has extended into the healing of the community.
We dive right in, covering everything from his experience with recovering from Type 2 diabetes through plant nutrition, his take on spirituality, and his efforts in office to bring greater access to lifestyle medicine to the community at large. We also discuss his experience working 20 years in the police force, including how he was one of the original advocates for police reform, and how we can all do our part in the building of healthier, stronger communities and, as a result, a healthier, stronger nation.
Also discussed:
gender roles we are told around health
the process of unlearning, reprioritizing, reexamining life itself
how stabilization of disease has lead to the normalization of disease
the narratives that we accept about our health
how a whole food, plant based diet returned his vision in 3 weeks!
“our spirit has an anatomy: I didn’t want to be physically obese or spiritually obese”
“we demonize the thought of the power of our own existence”
how the spiritual body feeds into the communal body
how he sees holistic health initiatives fitting into the community
how this health epidemic is shining a light on our entire health care system
the importance of proactive education around healthy living within school systems and senior centers
intersectional environmentalism
the civil rights organization he created while in the police force
how our neighborhoods are more broken than ever
the role of technology on this communication divide
“we look at the meanness on a national level, but on a local level, we are really just nasty to each other”
how we can get directly involved in our health and community reform

Following the idea that your thoughts create your reality, it comes as no surprise that your environment, and especially your home, becomes a reflection of your internal environment. And because we are energetic beings, we also easily absorb the energy of our environment, and thus our relationship with our home is just as important as any other.
Creating an aligned home environment is something that takes time, attention, and love. It should be an expression of who you are, and what you're about! So with that in mind, today's guest is Jessie Ruane, aka @Jessiefinds, an actress and home decor genius based in Brooklyn. I stalked her TikTok and Instagram, and fell in love with her design ideas, totally doable DIYs, and budget-friendly finds (not to mention her positive energy!). So go check out her IG profile and tune into this fun, laid-back episode, and get inspired to cultivate your own aligned home!

It's no secret that our past shapes who we are today. But what's less understood is how our past-- in particular our traumas, anxieties, beliefs and implicit biases-- causes much of today's current suffering, physically, psychologically, and spiritually.
After recognizing this pattern in his patients, chiropractic Dr. Nima Rahmany is now on a mission to guide others in dissolving the root cause of their stress-induced ailments.
He is the creator of The Overview Method, where participants are taken through an exercise to clear emotional baggage and resentment that holds them back from moving to new levels in business, health, and family relationships.
In episode 51 of The HYE Life podcast, Dr. Nima explains how he has helped countless people who are stuck in toxic relationships, career limbo, and emotional trauma to overcome their anxiety and create powerfully aligned relationships by deepening their intimate relationship with themselves.

One of my biggest qualms with the world of wellness is how often general health advice is shared without real context or consideration of the state of health of those consuming these "tips and tricks." Am I grateful that access to health information is so widely available now? Absolutely! We can't just depend on doctors and researchers. But unfortunately, that also means we are seeing a lot of agenda-driven studies published on popular media outlets that all conflict each other, as well as a mass arrival of health coaches, fitness experts, and anyone pushina social media following and abs claiming to be a wellness influencer. And frankly? It's creating a whole lot of noise around what is "healthy," and even despite the availability of information, it's making it harder and harder to know what we should actually be doing.
The truth is, we cannot all simply follow general health advice in order to get well, and for many, this could make things a whole lot worse. For me, a lot of the things I was doing to try to achieve long term health did not align with my current needs of restoring hormone balance.
What you need in order to get well could, and likely will, look very different from what someone else needs. Not only that, but what you need NOW, could and likely will look very different from what you will need in the future! It all depends on your current stage of health and your conditioned mindset around what "healthy" means and looks like-- both physically and in terms of lifestyle. Let's get into it.

For the longest time, I thought I was totally alone in my struggle with missing periods. It wasn't until I first opened up about my hormonal imbalance and hypothalamic amenorrhea on episode 16 that so many others started sharing their experiences with me, looking for a path to regaining their cycle.
As it turns out, this issue is far too common, especially among women who are involved in the world of health and fitness. Why is it that the journey to greater health is leaving many of us without our fifth vital sign?
This episode is as real, raw and honest as it gets. I sit down with Allie Labazzo, a personal trainer who also struggled with HA, to talk about our experiences with HA, the recovery process as mapped out by Dr. Nicola Rinaldi in her book No Period Now What, and why it's about so much more than getting your period back-- it's about getting your life back.
This experience has totally shifted the way I look at health, my work, my identity, and what it means to be truly alive. Whether you're struggling with missing periods or not, this episode is worth a listen.

Gut health has exploded in the last few years, and I think now is certainly as good a time as any to be paying attention to our gut health. With the topic of immunity on our minds, the gut isn't often the first place we think of-- but it should be. As you'll learn, "gut health IS immune health!"
What impacts our gut the most? Turns out it's not just what you eat, but what you're not eating. In this episode, Dr. B returns to the show to discuss the dangers of restrictive diets, the reason why so many are experiencing digestive distress, and how the answers to fix your microbiome are revealed in his new book, Fiber Fueled.
This episode covers...
This is just scratching the surface...
In Fiber Fueled Dr. Will lays out the science (spoiler alert: there’s a lot of it) that supports a plant-forward diet for total wellness. And if you don’t believe me, or him, then we’ll let 600+ scientific citations do the talking. Plus, Fiber Fueled has a 28-day jumpstart program with menus and 65+ recipes, along with essential advice on food sensitivities. And maybe the best part is that this book is fun and easy to read. I can't recommend it enough!

Have you ever traveled somewhere and immediately felt connected to it? Or maybe you've been somewhere that felt really off, but you couldn't quite put your finger on it. Well, there's actually an explanation for that, and it's called astrogeography. I had the great pleasure of chatting with astrogeography and north nodes expert Dara Dubinet all about how "the astrology of place" and interpreting your north node (your soul path) can help you to not only understand where you've been, but guide you where to go next-- geographically and spiritually.

These are crazy times, there's no denying that. With the majority of the world in quarantine, plans postponed or cancelled, businesses struggling, loved ones forbidden from seeing each other, there is a lot of uncertainty circulating and as human nature would have it, uncertainty breeds fear. But it doesn't have to be this way. When our circumstances feel out of our control, what we always have control over is our responsibility-- that is, our ability to respond rather than react. This episode goes into the difference between the two words in a way you may not have considered, as well as how to embrace the now as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, rather than closing our eyes until it's all over. In addition, we cover...

There’s a lot of conversation around blood sugar stability in today’s dietary health circles, but not a whole lot of clarity around how to go about achieving it, particularly for long term health. When primary care doctors are prescribing one type of diet, alternative medicine doctors another, and social media influencers another, it becomes even more confusing to know what’s truly trustworthy.
For a long time, the accepted protocol in the medical field for those with insulin resistance and diabetes was to follow a high fat, low carb diet and take high doses of insulin injections for life. But that never truly felt like a solution for the guests on today’s show, who have taken the old methods the outdated science and turned it on it’s head.
Diabetes experts Robby Barbaro, MPH and Cyrus Khambatta, PhD share their stories from being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes to how they conquered their condition and learned to thrive through the healing powers of a high-carb plant-based diet. Since healing themselves, they’ve gone on to help thousands of others manage and reverse their diabetes through diet and lifestyle changes, as outlined in their online program and newly-released book, Mastering Diabetes .

Hormones have long been the butt of every joke for why something in us just isn’t quite right.
“I’m just hormonal,” “I feel like shit, my period must be coming soon,” “she’s being so bitchy, she must be PMSing,”… I could go on. But as we are learning more and more, as alternative and natural health medicine is growing in popularity and in depth, hormones are no joke.
A topic that is near and dear to my heart, as I’ve been dealing with my own hormonal imbalance the past few years, I brought my friend and fellow health coach Emily Waterfield-Buttner to the show to talk creating hormonal harmony, the importance of balancing your hormones for overall health, vitality, aging, and how to not just learn to live with your hormones, but learn to thrive.
Whether you are on BC or au natural, whether you are regular or irregular, this chat is not to be missed!

“Non-toxic” has become another trendy word, right up there with “organic,” “all natural,” “plant-based” and the like. These are all vitally important terms and concepts to understand and implement, but the fact that they are trendy makes it harder for some of us to actually embrace them— and makes it easier for big companies to abuse them. Just as we can’t always trust every snack label claiming “all natural” and “organic” as healthy, it can be even trickier to discern dishonest marketing practices in the realm of skincare, beauty, and cleaning products. The best things we can do to support our health, vote with our dollar, and shop non-toxic is to make our own (incredibly simple, and affordable!) and to buy from small businesses, like Ms. Fresh Organics.
Today’s guest, Jill Sheridan, M.Ed, biology started her non-toxic business in 2017 after 7 years of creating her own home and body care products for her family and friends. After her son’s bad reaction to the steroid cream he was prescribed for eczema, she took matters into her own hands (literally) to craft her highly-renowned “body buttah.” And thus, Ms. Fresh Organics was born.
A note from Jill: “I just want people to know that safe and effective choices are available at a price families can afford. I specialize in education and empowerment and I provide safe swaps. My products are made in small batches with organic, toxin-free ingredients. I love that women in science and engineering are leading the way with this movement.”

“How do I build confidence?”
We all want confidence but we don’t want to be vulnerable.
But we forget that true confidence requires courage— the ability to do something that frightens us. Without courage, there is no growth.
Vulnerability is courage. To show up, to trust, to walk into the arena, to accept the unknown.

For the first interview of Season 2, I sit down in-person with my dear friend, former client, and gorgeous soul, Lindsay Bilezikian. Lindsay and I met back in NYC shortly before we both hit the road on separate journeys in pursuit of our own uniquely aligned life. Lindsay takes us through her story, from leaving behind layers of her life that no longer served her to step into her true, HYEr self. She also expands upon her heart calling as a sound reader and healer, where Lindsay works with the energy of Crystal Tones Alchemy singing bowls to offer a modality of healing that is deeply personal, and allows the individual to experience and activate their energetic body through the vibrational power of sound.
In addition to Sound Healing, Lindsay is a reiki master and holds a 200hr Katonah Yoga certification.

One of the many beautiful souls that this journey into entrepreneurship and “following my path,” if you will, has connected me with is Nicole Nelson. Nicole is a fellow IIN grad and a health and business coach (but let’s be honest— what truly brings us together is our mutual love of oatmeal and chickpea cookies).
Before we dive into the interview, you’ll hear some real talk between Nicole and I as we catch up on life, my travels, and how running your business on the road isn’t all glamorous (though parts of it certainly are!)
Nicole then takes us through her 2.5-year process of working at a corporate 9-5 while building her coaching business on the side, all the way through taking the leap into full time coaching. Her warm and welcoming personality is enough to keep you engaged to every word, not to mention the tips and insights she has to offer when it comes to stepping out of your own way and into your own spotlight. I gleaned so much from chatting with her and I know you will as well!

We all speak pretty confidently about ourselves when we describe what we do for our job, what role we play within our family, who we are with friends— but are all these “selves” really the same person? What about when we have an off day, and we say we “aren’t our best selves today.” Who, then, is our best self? Are they more or less authentic than our worst self? Who is our authentic self? Does such a thing even exist?
In a slightly different kind of episode (which I recorded a week or so prior to it going live), I take a philosophical deep dive on these ideas as I’ve been inspired by travels and trying to understand this about myself, as well by several books I’ve read lately (linked below!)

Dr. Will Bulsiewicz, MD, aka Dr. B aka @theguthealthmd, is a Charleston-based gastroenterologist with a whole lot to share about the bacteria living in our gut and how to cultivate a happy, healthy microbiome. There’s no question that gut health is ev-er-y-where nowadays, from your social media news feeds to online news articles, blogs, books and grocery stores. And while awareness is a step in the right direction, it can be tricky to filter through all that information and know what’s actually trustworthy.
Sometimes complex topics have truly simple solutions. Dr. B takes us through the issues and solutions surrounding gut health, and the shockingly simple solution behind what it takes to heal. What I love about Dr. B is not only his no-frills, holistic approach to health (a rare thing in western medical practices), but how he is able to take such complex topics as the gut and really break them down to help us understand exactly what we need to know— no sugar-coating added.

First you wake up after a poor night’s sleep, then stub your toe on the way to the bathroom, then spill coffee on your new top, then every little thing about your coworker starts to piss you off, the guy you’re seeing didn’t text you “good morning” (‘what an asshole, so dumping his ass’) and on and on and on… notice how one little negative thing starts a snowball effect and suddenly you’re feeling frustrated, annoyed and anxious about things that have nothing to do with it, but they get swept up in the negative momentum as collateral.
Momentum is a powerful concept (thank you, high school physics!) and anything that holds power can be used to create or destroy. Stopping negative momentum in its tracks is quite simple, but takes practice and above all it takes awareness. It’s then only a matter of shifting that momentum in the other direction to raise your vibe and use that power for good. It also takes letting go of the specifics of the negative thought and going general. What do I mean by that? So glad you asked ;) Let’s dive in!

“Cooking is not what a chef does, it’s what you’re able to do in a convenient and accessible way with your resources.”From writing his first book in his boardshorts on the shores of Sydney to owning a restaurant in NYC, Dan Churchill is not your average chef. In fact, he calls himself a “creative,” and there’s no argument there! With a background in exercise science and strength and conditioning, he noticed a huge disconnect between what nutritional guidelines were being given and how people were actually taught (or not taught) to apply them in the kitchen— enter Dan. After writing Dude Food, which helped him to build a personal brand overseas, he became internationally recognized for his holistic and refreshingly simplistic approach to healthy (insanely delicious) cooking. Now, as the founder of Charley Street, a Soho-based healthy food hot spot and personal favorite of mine, Dan continues to exercise his creative spirit in the kitchen and beyond, venturing into the world of podcasting and multimedia projects, from ebooks to TV hosting, to help spread his approach.

With this new wave of manifestation and spirituality on the rise (which is amazing), phrases like “listen to your intuition” and “let the universe guide you” get tossed around a lot but aren’t so readily explained. What does this even mean, and how do you do that all day every day?
Lean in, friends, because this short, sweet yet powerful episode recaps a day in the life of listening to my intuition and following universal guidance to manifest a reality that is beyond my conscious desires. The best part is, this was an extraordinarily ordinary day, as in, these moments and sequences of events are happening all. the. time. to me, to you, to everyone! And it’s only a matter of knowing how to tune into them to allow them to change your life.
*Note, this episode was recorded several days ago so if you hear me talking about being in Paris, that’s why!

As a serial entrepreneur and mother of two, it’s safe to say that Divya Gugnani leads a crazy hectic lifestyle— which is exactly why she needed a beauty routine that was crazy simple. As the co-founder of Wander Beauty, a brand built on the principle that “less is more,” Divya and her business partner, supermodel Lindsey Ellingson, bonded over their need for a beauty routine that was as on-the-go as they were, and set out to create fewer, better beauty essentials. We discuss not only what goes into building a thriving beauty brand, but the importance of understanding how one’s business is a reflection of who they are. Divya shares how both motherhood and her personal health journey with autoimmune imbalances has made her a more conscious consumer and creator, from what she puts into her body to the products she puts on it, and all the lifestyle factors in between.

Plateaus are a GOOD thing.
Nay, they're a GREAT thing!
To learn why, and hear me talk about how I truly stepped into this life I'm deliberately creating by acknowledging where I was holding myself back with what I'm coining to be "double-false beliefs," you don't want to miss this short and sweet mindset + motivation episode!

Me, replying to Jana’s IG story: “Brownies must be good for your skin— you flawless”
Jana: “Maybe it’s brownies, maybe its Maybelline.”
Me: “I think we’d be friends.”
And thus commenced a year long (and counting) friendship, virtually bonding over a love of almond butter, dates, and yoga. You may know Jana Ruthberg as @NamasteSweet, her instagram alias where she loves sharing drool-worthy food and yoga stories whilst studying law at UVA (which, if we didn’t already have enough in common, just so happens to be my alma mater). What you may not know is how her well-adored foodie account came to be. After going through a traumatic time that left her in painful bouts of IBS, Jana’s struggle to eat anything that didn’t upset her stomach spiraled into a type of eating disorder that isn’t commonly acknowledged, or supported. I asked Jana to come on the show and share her story of recovery, and how she ultimately turned her source of darkness into a source of light.

I thought I craved the stability of a salaried income... but then I discovered that the happiness and joy I’ve received from turning my passion into my purpose, combined with the relationships, community, and opportunities that I’ve had as a result of that, has given me more stability and abundance than I could’ve ever asked for— and in a fraction of the time. All I had to do was stop resisting.

My dear friend and college classmate Sharon appears on the show today as a beautiful example of someone learning to be open to receiving miracles, not only by embracing major life changes but by seeing the beauty in the more minor moments, as well.
When her relationship pulled her out of the life she knew at a corporate fashion job in the city and brought her to a rural beach town, Sharon went through a major identity shift. By taking the time to reflect on her desires and go through the Take the HYE Road Masterclass, she’s been able to recognize her own limiting beliefs and begin creating the life she’s truly wanted after realizing she was the only one holding herself back.

Nadja Pinnavaia is the founder of Plantable , a whole foods, plant-based meal service that offers so much more than simply shipping delicious food to your doorstep (although it certainly does that!). After her mother-in-law was diagnosed with cancer and began treatment, Nadja took it upon herself to research what truly creates total body health and to find that “silver bullet” to not only help cancer recovery, but to help others fend against it and create greater health and longevity. With a background in biochemistry and personal experience with shifting to a plant-based diet, Nadja created Plantable as a meal service rooted in just that— service and support, offering others a gateway for a happier, healthier way of living while loving every bite!

Ever dream of traveling the world on nobody’s agenda but your own? Seeing and experiencing different cultures, meeting up with friends and loved ones in exotic places, trying new foods and discovering all you can about this incredible world? Samesies.
And I used to believe this could only ever remain a dream. But then, after lots of thought and reflection, I realized that it was only those limiting beliefs that were holding me back, and that I didn’t have to abide by the standards of corporate America in order to be successful and happy. In fact, it was that very 9-5 grind life that was keeping me from tapping into my full potential, following my passion, and ultimately creating my own success and happiness.
So? I left. And I don’t know exactly where or for how long, but I couldn’t be more sure about this being the best decision of my life.

Let’s just say, today’s episode is pretty personal. While it seems the topic of hormones and birth control is all the rage these days, I haven’t previously shared too much about my story because I didn’t want to just add to the noise without making any effective contribution. Only now, from the research and studies I’ve done and the lengths I’ve gone through to get a better understanding of my own body, do I feel that I can’t share my story and experiences in an impactful way. I hope that, if nothing else, that this episode brings comfort to those going through anything similar in knowing they are not alone, and that your body is never messing up!

There is all this talk about the importance of routines and creating healthy habits, and we have such an interest in learning about other people’s routines. But have you stopped to think about why? What is the point of having a routine? Why do we want things to become habit? The immediate answer is simple: we do things repeatedly so that it eventually becomes something we just do, so that it becomes effortless— right? I argue that it’s not about the level of effort, but the intention behind the action that creates habits and determines their value in our life.

As you may know, I am a huge proponent of functional medicine detoxes. Unlike a "cleanse" or juicing or other detoxes that are truly more like elimination diets, an FM detox will allow your body to go through phase 1 & 2 of liver detoxification in order to cleanse the body, eliminate toxins and toxic water retention (le worst), reduce inflammation and allergies (bye sniffles!), bloating (so over it), improve digestion, boost energy, and SO much more. I have begun doing these 7-day detoxes seasonally to help my body prepare for new temperatures, new foods, and flush out any stagnant energy. I have gotten several questions about the detox, what it’s like, how to do one, etc and went on Instagram to do a live Q&A last week that I’ve now brought to the podcast!
I will be doing my next one starting on Monday April 7, 2019 and would LOVE to have you join me! If you're interested in participating, simply sign up here!

We’re often told to challenge ourselves, to continually push ourselves past our comfort zone, to try again, and be okay with failing the first few times. And while challenging your abilities is no doubt on the path to growth, so too it can end up challenging and belittling our confidence. We can’t forget what we know and do best. There is still strength in choosing to do what you know you’re good at, and embracing those talents for what they are—gifts.

This episode touches on a lil of everything, and gets to the root of what “holistic health” truly entails— the bigger picture. I totally sat down fully intending to record an episode on candida and CBO, but the message that spilled out of me after hitting ‘record’ was far different. Instead, we talk about how smoothies are even better than fasting, how your hobbies can help you get a promotion (or whatever your goals are), and why you must look beyond food for what nourishes your life. Enjoy!

It is with IMMENSE joy that we welcome one of my greatest mentors at the moment, Dr. Stephen Cabral, to the podcast! You all get to witness my own first interaction with him, including my story of how I believe I manifested this interview before I even had the idea for a podcast.
Dr. Cabral is a wealth of knowledge and one of the most generous people I know, simply in terms of how much free health information he shares every single day on his own podcast, The Cabral Concept.
As a Board Certified Naturopathic Doctor and founder of the Cabral Wellness Institute and StephenCabral.com, Dr. Cabral has not only helped over 250,000 people worldwide to rebalance and re-energize their body, but claims himself as his first and greatest client. After being diagnosed with a life-altering illness at 17 and given no hope for recovery, Stephen traveled all over the world and discovered how to combine ancient Ayurvedic healing practices with state-of-the-art Naturopathic & Functional Medicine to fully heal himself along with all who have since come to his online and Boston based practice. Through the use of Functional Medicine lab testing and Personalized Wellness Plans, Cabral and his team help people rebalance their mind and body to recover all forms of “dis-ease,” including auto-immune, thyroid, fatigue, hormone, weight gain, digestive, childhood, mood, skin, and dozens of other hard to treat health conditions.
His mission is to help people understand that there is always a reason why you have not achieved your ideal wellness or weight loss goals and that you can and will get well again!

Today’s show features a special guest that I’ve admired for a long time, and is just as lovely as she seems in the digital world! Vegan Instagram star and Youtuber Caroline Deisler is known not only for her incredibly delicious looking (and quite massive) plant based meals, but mostly for her beautiful mindset when it comes to diet and exercise and her infectious positivity. Not to mention she is always literally glowinggg from the inside out.
We chat everything from her morning routine, intuitive eating, changes in mindset, and even how to deal with family and friends who may not understand your lifestyle. This was such a fun conversation, and can’t wait for you to listen!
Episode HYElights:
How Caroline went from unhappy, unhealthy yoyo dieting and binging to veganism and literally glowing from the inside out
How to make intermittent fasting a part of your daily routine
How to stay true to yourself in social settings and relationships
How it feels to eat intuitively and listen to your body
SO much more!

One of the hottest topics du jour in nutrition is the Keto diet. It honestly still baffles met how it is still trending so strongly, but nonetheless, I get asked about it pretty frequently. Is it healthy? If not, why are people seeing results? What to do instead? Tune in to find out!
Episode HYElights:
Why keto is not for everyone, and is detrimental in the long term
The ideal amount of time to go low carb, and how to add them back in
How to determine your carb sweet spot (see what I did there? :P )
You may hear a bird or two, as I recorded this while taking a walk in Florida!

We are all after the same thing-- happiness, satisfaction, vitality... Once we recognize that the only thing we are after is a feeling, we stop focusing on spending time, money, and energy on material objects or our looks and instead invest in getting to know ourselves. There is nothing else in the world with a greater ROI than yourself-- YOU determine it's value simply by knowing your worth.
Episode HYElights:
how to stop focusing on the means and focus on the end goal
how to take a holistic approach to your wellness by looking at the root cause
how your thoughts create your reality, and your desires are closer than you think!
I also dropped the F bomb once or twice. Sorrynotsorry.
