In a previous episode of Fangirls Going Rogue recorded at the halfway point of ANDOR Season 1, we spoke about the various and unique female characters in the show. Not one woman, but many! Now that season has wrapped, we explore the various ways that characters can be compared and contrasted: Wow is Edie different as a mother than Mon? How is Maarva’s role as a parent different than Galen in Rogue One? How do we perceive sisters in arms Vel, Cinta, and Kleya? Why it’s okay to be conflicted about Dedra?
We are joined by Meredith Duckworth for this conversation as she brings valuable insight as a mother and professional.

Tales of the Jedi is a series of six short-form animated fables that visits crucial moments in the lives of two Jedi - Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooku - who both choose to leave the Jedi Order before Order 66. While all three of the Ahsoka stories were written by Lucasfilm key creative Dave Filoni, the middle Count Dooku animated short "Choices" was written by Charles Murray and his daughter Élan Murray. Charles also served as director. Sarah Woloski and Tricia Barr talk to Charles Murray about the development of this story. In the process we discovered why he wanted to work on The Clone Wars and offer some insights into his work on the hit-series, for which he wrote the Ahsoka Leaves the Jedi order arc (Season 5) and the Martez sisters arc (Season 7).

While Fangirls Going Rogue started with a combined love of the Star Wars films, it is undeniable that the animated shows have been a crucial part of our journey with the franchise. When Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (The LEGO Movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse) penned their op-ed in Variety following the year's Oscars slight of animation, it provided a topic near and dear to the team. Teresa Delgado, Sarah Woloski, and Tricia Barr sit down to discuss why animation and film are symbiotic art forms, and why Star Wars proves that point.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. What is it like to travel to a galaxy far, far away? What is it like to fly on a starship? To make friends with an alien? To wield a lightsaber? To engage in a space battle? What is it really like to see, feel and live Star Wars?
The answers to these questions and many more will be answered March 1, 2022, when Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser debuts at Walt Disney World Resort. This first-of-its-kind immersive adventure is a vacation experience going beyond anything Disney has created before. They may be asked to keep a secret, deliver a covert message, take part in a high-stakes heist, defend the ship, hide an ally … the possibilities are seemingly endless. Decisions guests make affect how these tales unfold, intertwining with those of other passengers and well-known characters such as Chewbacca and Rey as momentum builds on an action-packed adventure that may determine the fate of the galaxy.

Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge is a Virtual Reality experience coming to the Downtown Disney® District at the Disneyland® Resort in Anaheim, California on Sunday, November 21, 2021 and running through January 5, 2022. This is a free experience that expands the location of Batuu beyond the confines of Black Spire Outpost. The experience features the character Seezelslak, voiced by Bobby Moynihan (Saturday Night Live, Star Wars Resistance). Seezeslak is an Azumel bartender who runs a cantina in competition with Oga's cantina and isn't nearly as shy. Recently, Sarah Woloski and Tricia Barr attended a Press Conference put on by ILMxLAB where we learned some fun behind-the-scenes tidbits about this experience. In addition to Moynihan, the press conference includes ILMxLab's producer Alyssa Finley and was moderated by Holly Frey of Stuff You Missed in History and Full of Sith podcasts. Even if you can't visit the experience, the panel is informative and their enthusiasm to share how the team built out the virtual world around Black Spire Outpost is really insightful.
From Disney Parks:
Meta Quest and ILMxLAB, Lucasfilm’s award-winning immersive entertainment studio, are presenting a special Quest 2 preview of Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge coming to the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort, Nov. 21, 2021 – Jan. 5, 2022.
This preview version of ILMxLAB’s virtual reality experience expands the world of Batuu like never before! Once inside the Quest 2 headset, you’ll be immersed within sweeping 360 views of the Star Wars galaxy. The adventure takes place on the outskirts of Black Spire Outpost on the planet of Batuu, as depicted in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the immersive epic lands at Disneyland Resort in California and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.
The story features both new and iconic characters from the Star Wars galaxy. Gameplay was designed for a variety of players – from Star Wars fans to VR gamers – at home on Quest 2.
The free experience is available from noon to 8pm daily. For more information visit Disney Parks Blog.

Disney's new streaming service has been given a name: Disney+. Fangirls Going Rogue dives into what we know will be part of this platform, including Star Wars and Marvel offerings. How will television stories be different than the films? And how does Marvel compare to Disney in their first offerings?
Last month Disney kicked off the Dream Big Princess Campaign. Young female filmmakers had a chance to create video shorts with famous mentors like Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy and Mary Poppin Returns' Emily Blunt. We discuss Kennedy's advice and whether she is doing enough to mentor women through her role at Lucasfilm. In part this segment was inspired by a conversation among our listeners in our Facebook discussion group. Read more about it over at FANgirl Blog.
A new arrangement of "Across The Stars" by John Williams inspired our conversation about the characters of Anakin and Padmé. Of course, the music is a character of its own in the movies!

As part of our mission to showcase different points of view on Star Wars, Fangirls Going Rogue has committed to letting our listeners share their thoughts with fandom. The second episode in our new series Fangirls Going Rogue Presents You Talk We Listen highlights women who have been part of Star Wars fandom since 1977, not as children but as professional women. In this episode recorded at GeekGirlCon 2017 Tricia Barr and Sarah Woloski interview Maggie Nowakowska and Tish Wells about early fandom, including "lunch with Larry [Kasdan]" and interviewing George Lucas. Although fandom discussions were often by letter, these women offer lessons learned that are timeless.

Keeping with the spirit that inspired Fangirls Going Rogue, this episode features interviews with two amazing women working on Star Wars-centric projects. Scholar and author Becca Harrison made a splash recently on Twitter with her breakdown of the percentages of women in each film. As Luke Skywalker tells us in The Last Jedi, "this is not going to go the way you think." Writer and film historian Amy Richau embarked on a year-long quest to highlight women in Star Wars with her project #365StarWarsWomen. The interviews find a common theme: Ewoks and Return of the Jedi.
Teresa Delgado leads co-hosts Sarah Woloski and Tricia Barr on a discussion ranging from Celebration Chicago's ticket sales to the possibility of Mark Hamill meeting his fictional mother Natalie Portman as host of a The Phantom Menace reunion panel at the convention. After the Galaxy's Edge (Star Wars Land) panel at Disney's Hollywood Studio's Galactic Nights, the character discussion focuses on our adventures in the galaxy far far away. Tricia asks everyone what type of traveler they would be when traveling to Black Spire Outpost.
