Hi friends. Welcome to Episode 78 of #5AMDESK. I have officially moved my podcast over to Anchor, and I am über excited about this! Now I have no excuse for creating podcast content. This podcast is a little fast and all over the place, but a good update to my life. We bought a fraction of a condo in Hawaii while on vacation. I am insanely excited about this purchase. It is essentially a deed backed timeshare program called, Hilton Vacation Club. We were in Hawaii for a week, and it was a much needed break. Now I am dying to make up that 4 hours I lost. Five days later, and I still can't shake it.

I'm backkkk. Lol. I took a super unintentional break, and have been meaning to get back to the podcast, but just haven't. I catch y'all decently up on all things happening within this podcast episode.
Highlights: My goal for the year is to sell 14 million and gross $400k. It is a bit of a hairy goal, but all good goals are; aren't they? Content is a more intentional priority. We bought a new house! It is huge and need a complete remodel. We still haven't finished the office. Our house has taken over as priority. We had our first client appreciation event. It was amazing. Video coming soon. I am now a business partner is my father's new catering business, Local Gourmet Catering! http://localgourmetcatering.com. School started for the kids, and I am bathing in uninterrupted blocks of time. Lincoln is in full-time professional childcare for the first time ever. That is nice. Lol. Life is good.

The other day, I had the insane pleasure of stopping by the Woodlands Natural Heath, wellness center and clinic, for this episode of #10MINUTESWITH. I had the honor of speaking with Mike Riippa, Yvette Raymond, and Stacy Rowlett.

Stacy has a tender heart and enjoys working with all people who seek a more natural approach to restoring health.
I really learned so much from these three. I ended up hanging out chatting before and after the taping, for two hours. I even booked some micro current neurofeedback sessions with Yvette. Ironically I have a fear of public speaker and some minor anxiety issues, that we plan on addressing! I have no idea what to expect, but I plan on documenting my experience and shedding light on this new type of therapy.

I have no idea how I haven't recorded an update to this series. Seriously, I would of lost some money on a bet, as to when I last recorded was. So since it has been so long since my last #THEROADTO, you might not have a clue, as to what this series is about. Hello hello hello..
Today (Wednesday, October 24th, 2018) I attended a conference, that HAR (Houston Association of Realtors) puts on every year called, HAR Engage. Chris Smith, author of two books, including the best seller Conversion Code, and co-founder of Curaytor, was our opening speaker and keynote. I have known Chris four a couple years now, and I believe I picked up on his book a bit before then. He is the leader in the real estate tech and coaching industries, and since being introduced to him (probably via a podcast or his retired YouTube show, "Watercooler"), he has been a mentor and friend of mine. So earlier today, when I shyly asked him, if I could interview him for my podcast, he graciously said yes.
Chris, his videographer, and I did find a quiet space to record, yet the audio isn't perfect, so I apologize for that, and for some tiny interruptions from people interacting near us. Any who, without further rambling, enjoy the first episode in the series #7QUESTIONSWITH.

Good Morning Friends,
Sorry it has been so long. For the last 7 weeks I have been working out every day, with over 50 workouts clocked at Delta Life Fitness. I am a new huge believer in group fitness for that built in accountability and for the friendships I have created. I am still working out at home, but it is true, I am addicted to my Delta Life classes.
Then for the last 8 weeks I have been drinking ketones every day, and honestly, that has changed my life. I went on YouTube some days back and uploaded a video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns0_MT4gdTw&t=5s. I look crazy bloated in this video, but oh well.

But business is going great. I have closed on 5 deals so far this year, with 7 on the books, and 4-5+ in the wind. I am exactly where I want to be goal wise, and I tear up every time I think about it. My whole life is right here being laid out in front of me, and it isn't possible for me to be any happier. Life is good.
Well I am uploading this mid-workout, and I still have to wake and dress the kids.
I hope you have a fan-freaking-tastic day. I think I am getting a leisure day, as starting Thursday, I don't see one in sight. Oh yes, and I can't forget to tell ya, I am building in TWO off days (Tuesday/Thursday) this summer for the kids!!

For the last 9 days I have been waking up to work out. Eight of those days I have woken up at 4:45 (or earlier) to attended the 5:15 AM class at Delta Life Fitness (Klein-Spring). If you haven't tried out their gym (women only), you really should. Most of the classes have built-in childcare!
Any who.. After class today, I interviewed the Operations Manager for the Delta Life Fitness corporation, Christin Cherry. She has grown to be my friend, so don't mind the giggles. Lol.

Good morning friends!
Life is so fantastic right now. It truly is. Every single time I think about what has happened and what is happening and what is about to happen, I get all emotional and teary eyed. I am in that moment. The between moment. Things are changing. Things are huge. The big inclination is that at least 5 people called me this week requesting to work with me, and at least 3 last week.
March started off with me closing on my biggest transaction. ... OH my gosh.. The puppy dog just fell off the couch.. It was so funny.. He is bigger than he thinks.. Don't worry, he didn't get hurt! ... Then all these new clients. I am so lucky. I am so blessed.
So I didn't talk about this on the podcast, but I need to. It is so ironic how I work and how I am. Like in my brain. One of my biggest compliments since working at a portrait studio as a young something in my 20s, and honestly before in all my years as a nanny.. I was always complimented on how patient I was. And I still am. I am patient with every single client. No matter how many houses they want to see. I just make sure they aren't taking advantage of me. I make sure they are appreciative. I place myself in their shoes. The transaction they are about to make is huge. I recognize how important it is to them, and then in turn, it becomes even more important to me. It is their importance stacked on top of the importance of my career and legacy. Any who.. Patience is really a huge part of my customer service side of my business, but when it comes to being patient to hit my goals and things like that, I lack patience. I just want my future to unfold before me.. Well it is happening y'all.. It is happening.
Okay okay, so I doubt anyone reads the show notes. I am out of here. I have a day full of the most showings I have ever shown ever, and I get to meet 2 new clients.

Jeff and I had the opportunity to sit down earlier today. Upon meeting, I actually knew very little about him. I knew his position as lieutenant in the sheriff's department, where he is the commander over the robbery and burglary unit. I also knew he was currently running for Pct 4 County Commissioner.
I personally had no idea what county commissioners do for our community before today. The four commissioners and a judge, oversee the whole budget for the county. This position is extremely important for each and every one of us living in Harris county.
I feel this podcast is one of my most important to date. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, and if you feel compelled to vote for Jeff in the primary election, early voting starts Tuesday, February 20th and runs until March 2nd, with election day being March 6.

Good Morning Y'all,
Oh my gosh, I have the hiccups. Luckily, I did not catch them while recording, but goodness gracious, they sure are annoying.
This episode is coming at you from Midland, Texas where I am visiting my husband. If you missed an episode, I surprised him for Valentine's Day, and this is my first time away from my son for more than a day. Twice now (actually three times), I have spent one day way from him. My birthday, the NAC event, and then a convention for my original brokerage. So I am feeling a bit nervous, anxious and apprehensive about the whole thing, but he is safe and sound with his sister and niece, just hanging out.
So my husband is here working. He works in the oil and gas industry. He is always on call, and he keeps getting called out. So I am tagging along. Just hanging out in the truck while he works. It isn't too bad. I get to disconnect a bit, because there isn't an Internet connection, so I have been recorded podcast episode, play solitaire, reading, and brainstorming. Today I am going to work on some design projects within some of my favorite Adobe programs.
In this episode, I don't talk so much about what I have been doing day-to-day, but a general update on what is on my mind, and I touch on a secret project I am working on, that probably won't launch until May. Good Morning Y'all,
So it took me two attempts to get this episode recorded, and I forgot to tell you during this recording my thought process and reasoning behind taking a day off. As you know, I just launched Jo & Co. Realty Group, and that has taken up my life, to the point of near consumption, for the last 4+ months.
I was talking with a friend the other day, and he mentioned I kind of disappeared and fell off social media. I don't remember intentionally doing this, minus how I recorded 4+ episodes and waited a month or so to upload them while I secretly planned my new business.
But any who.. I am glad to be back on the radar, and back sharing everything that is happening in my life. But I did need a tiny break. I have never had a break of this sort, and so it is neat. I am not doing anything exciting, since my husband has to work, but I am still hoping this will be good for my soul. We actually have verbally started planning our next vacation, which won't be until next summer. We are thinking Thailand. I have actually never been anywhere out of The States, unless you count a wedding in Mexico City, in which I felt carsick (from the taxi rides) the whole entire time, and I was pretty much a child. So I don't feel like that counts.
I feel like I am getting away from the episode a bit, but in this episode I tell you about my little adventure and story behind surprising my husband for Valentine's Day!
Okay okay. I am jumping off here, to finish the upload of this episode. Please be sure to listen to the next episode. It is a new series I am doing called, #ITWASYUMMY. This series will be my place to document my lunches around The Woodlands, but since I am out of town, I wanted to start with a special edition, a place in Midland.

Thank you so much for tuning in. I am so flustered about how rushed today is that I didn't mention must about yesterday. But I did have a fantastic day hanging out with my dad. He interviewed me for an upcoming episode of #POCUMENTING, and we had lunch together. It was a blast.

This episode is pretty much a 100% telling of my day yesterday. But yes, my favorite moment of the day was watching a new family that moved here from California this week explore their new house for the first time, that they will be getting the keys on tomorrow. They purchased it, and we will close at 11 AM today! They are ready for it. I am so excited for them, and so humbled to have been part of the process!

Hi y'all!
So yes, today will be the first day ever where I have all of my kids in school at the same time, so you could guess that I am excited for this moment. It has been a long time coming, and I am so lucky that I am in this place in my business where this is possible, and where it makes sense. I do love being around my kids, but as I get more involved and more immersed in my career and company, there more I want to be present.
I am in love with my office, and I love being there. Most days I will go straight to my office after dropping off the kids, but ironically, I think today, I will be driving across town for a meeting with a potential client. Fingers crossed.
Since I left my computer at my office, and if you are on SoundCloud, you will notice my album art is not uploaded. I will fix that later today when I have my regular laptop with me.
This episode was a bit of a shorter one, and I kept referencing myself as boring, lol. Yesterday I just unloaded so much, that I felt like I didn't have much to say today.
I do have a client that traveled across the country to buy a home, and that hopefully will happen today. They got into town yesterday, and have been staying in hotels for almost a week. A handful of kids and even more pets, they are ready for their keys to be handed over.. AND I don't blame them!
So I am off to the gym, then to get all of the little's kids stuff ready for school. Wish me luck. Getting back into this groove two days a week will be a tiny bit of a challenge. They need so much stuff for school, since they are so little. They need a change of clothes, diapers, nap map, extra sleeping stuff, backpack, lunch box, and to be presentable. Lol.

Wow, and I thought the end of 2017 was a crazy busy one. The beginning of 2018 has been so unexpected. Sorry for that being my excuse for not recording lately, but being busy has been such a great thing!
So, I started this episode with officially announcing the name of my new brokerage, Jo & Co. Realty Group. Everything goes official this week, and I am so insanely excited to see the name of my brokerage on har.com. If I could bottom up this excitement and energy I have right now for this new company, I think the substance bottled would be near-illegal. Lol.
I am currently hanging out in my new office right now. We have spent so much time, energy, and effort into making it as perfect as possible. We still need some final touches, but I am in love.
The last real thing to do is to find agents to join this tribe of a company I am building. P.S. I am sitting at my desk right now, and there is this amazing leg rest underneath it that I knew nothing about! #winning. Uploading this, and typing it days later, I am actually not so scared anymore. Which is such an amazing feeling. I think I was going through some version of those stages of acceptance that I learned about in psychology class. Lol. What I am experiencing now, is just this desire to be ready. To be ready to open my doors.

Good Morning Y'all,
I am laying here on the couch uploading the podcast, while listening to the sounds of the kids waking up. I have an hour or so left until I have to leave the house. I am dressed and ready for the day in a pair of yoga pants, a trendy work out top, three quarters sleeve sweater, with my favorite Adidas shoes next to me. I will be photographing a listing in Creekside today, and while doing this, I will probably be climbing up on top of my car so athletic clothes and tennis shoes with grip are going to be a must. I will probably throw my hair up in a pony, and snag my white Adidas hat off the shelf in my closet. Hello Saturday!
Today is going to be a good day. I can feel it. I am most excited for the coming soon campaign that I will be running on this Creekside house. I am debating which day to host an open house. The bulk of my listings in the past (all but one) have been unoccupied homes, so I could come and go as I please. This house will be a little different, since it is a family of 4 with 2 small children. My point is, I won't be able to host open houses as I please. So trying to figure out how to maximize the first week on the market and the coming soon campaign, which will be done during Thanksgiving week.
I could really go on and talk for hours, which I practically do in the podcast, but enough with my rambling..

On this episode I will be speaking with one of the nicest people I know, Tracy Peck. She is not only a shop owner, but an EMT and grand mother. She is very kind and makes the most unbelievable pumpkin slice crock pot lattes.
In her shop in Old Town Spring, we sat down to record this episode. My favorite thing about her shop is that it is dual purposed. You can stop in with your kids for a craft, or sign up for one of their craft nights with a friend OR you can shop in there. There are so many artists selling their crafts, jewelry, and handmade items in there!

I am sitting here still sick. Yesterday was a better day, and today feels like something fell on me. That or I slept on a bed of rocks. I am so ready to be over this. I am spent so many days of the last month "under the weather".
With all that aside, I am ready for the day. I have lots of my plate, and I am ready for it all. I am packing a positive attitude, and with my vacationing road trip only days of way, I am really energized. Seeing my husband for the first time in a month is going to be oh so sweet!
I actually have a crazy busy insane morning/day/next two days..

Yep, that's right, no "good morning", because it is PM right now and not AM.. Lol. I didn't really get to it in the episode, but the main reason I didn't record, was because Cameron and I woke up early together to do some homework of hers that was due the day before, but she misplaced. Then the sub-reason was my poor attitude and the events of the last two days, but oh well, here I am.

Good Morning Y'all,
Coming to y'all from the floor this morning. It just looked safe and comfortable. Last night was a very scary night. I suffered through an episode of vertigo, and it was traumatizing to say the least. I really don't even know how to comprehend the moment, but acknowledge it happened, I am scared of it happening again. I am obviously not paralyzed by the experience, but it took me by surprise to say the least.
I am optimistic about today. I have a feeling I am going to have a very very good day. Oh my gosh.. I finally just sneezed. If I was going to guess, I would guess that last night when I needed to sneeze, but couldn't, that some pressure built up, and that caused the vertigo, but I am no doctor.
But yes, today will be a great day. Yesterday was a very full #momlife day with one #realtorlife phone call. I am about to get that listing (in Creekside) that I mentioned running the comps for while at Starbucks the other day when the stranger talked to me for one hour when I only had 90 minutes to work. Lol. So that is exciting. I meet with them on Thursday.
Well Cami needs me to take her to choir.. I'm off for now.. Sorry for the short episode, but I did record a raw & unscripted last night..

I actually have two hates on my brain today.. well let me say three.. I hate cleaning up the same mess three times in a row, but that one isn't the end of the world.. Just gives me a chance to problem solve.. Then there are over priced open houses.. But that was a lesson learning situation.. So not really complaining about that either, so yes.. Just one thing that I hate that I can't control.. I hate being sick. This October/November I have had it worse than any other year.
I did make it to the doctor yesterday, but I am thinking, the only real thing that is going to help me recover is time, water, and being healthy. After last night, I was in pain for way too man hours, I am going to be more conscious. So a salad for lunch is on my brain. Any who enough rambling here, I did enough of that in the podcast.. Lol..
P.S. I talked a lot about our upcoming road trip vacation that I am excited about!!

I CANNOT believe that we made it to episode 50. What a huge mark! I believe yesterday was the kid's 50th day of school, #sidenote. So I have been wanting to have this launch party for #ACUPWITHJO, but with all the holiday parties, and the illness that swept my house, I haven't gotten around to it. Maybe when I have interviewed 15 guests/small business owners for #POCUMENTING, I will just have some type of celebration! Ideas welcome.

Hi y'all!
Yesterday was a complete blend of #realtorlife and #momlife at its finest. I tried to handle my realtor business and Lincoln said, "Nauht uh Mom." Lol. Luckily I had already requested the floors be mopped, so no harm to foul, well minus the broken spice jar.
Cameron just left the room. She walked in and said I have great news. I don't know why, but when a 10-year-old says things like this I get worried. But in this case, no worrying needed. She then proceeded to announce that her class has made it to the championships or finals or something like that. They are having a volley ball tournament. Cute kid. She ran off to eat breakfast and take her medicine. And she is wearing a pair of my chucks. Lol. Big foot.
Any who so yesterday was a good day, minus the bad news I got at the dentist that made me cry. Being a grown up sucks sometimes. That is what I chalk it up to. Baha. Kind of kidding. At least the dentist was very nice. I went to Everest Dentistry at the corner of Louetta and Stuebner Airline.

My morning was a slight bit crazy. My knees are white from cleaning up the largest amount of baking powder that I have ever seen on the floor. Thanks Mister Lincoln. That was probably his sixth mess of the day. Now I know why moms of boys are so chill and cool. You have to be! My two little girls did not prepare me for this. That dude gets into and onto everything. He could probably win baby ninja warrior. Seriously.
P.S. The muffins were disgusting! They have this funky after taste! Ugh. Fingers crossed Lincoln likes them. Lol.

Good Morning Y'all!
Sorry, but not sorry, for taking the last three days off. They were intentional, but much needed. It gave me some time to recoup. I didn't discuss this in the podcast, but last night before going to bed.. I got into bed about 8:15 PM, and I turned out the lights a little before 10 PM.. But last night I spend a lot of that time writing. I got a new notebook.. Dang this girl loves notebooks.. And on the spine of the book, and on EVERY page, it says "DO EPIC THINGS". Yes, when I saw that notebook at the store, I just had to buy it!
Any who.. In my writing, I wrote down that I wanted to reevaluate my #SEGMENTS. It was something I wanted to think about this morning. I instead recorded a 25 minute podcast episode, and here we are uploading it. Being a pioneer in this industry.. As in, not very mean people, let alone real estate agents, have a daily podcast.. There isn't a lot of people to look up to. I can't find a mentor, and ask them, am I doing this right? How can it be better? Only by trial and error.. By documenting over creating.. By exploring, only can I figure this all out. So thank you for your continuing support as I explore, and pave a path for "normal people" like me to have a daily podcast. I am honored you are here.. So I am starting my day on fire! My literally, but you know, figuratively. I have my plan and all is going pretty smooth. No one has been sick since Tuesday morning. Kids had a happy Halloween. Lincoln is joyfully digging through my kitchen drawers and munching on a stolen mini chocolate bar. I am standing here at the kitchen counter patiently waiting for my episode to upload. I might not be showered or dressed yet, but I have my day planned, and yesterday was such a fabulous day, it only makes sense for today to be even better. I am on this climb. Okay okay.. Lol.. Good Morning Y'all and Oh my gosh!
Sorry I missed yesterday, just decided to focus on work.
So if you haven't put it together yet, I live in Houston, I was born in Houston, and I have been an Astros fan since my grandfather planted himself here from Louisiana over 50 years ago. If I am not mistaken, they were playing the opening game in the Astrodome the day he drove into town (I know they were playing, not sure which game), so they are in my blood. OH.. Point here.. The Houston Astros won the 2017 World Series.. They are champions.. Just incase you missed it, and I am so proud and excited!! Wahooo.. Lol.
Well today is going to be an awesome day..

Good Morning Y'all and Happy Halloween,
I went to bed last night so excited for the day. I woke up ready to run through anything the day might bring me. Then I read a 5 AM text message from our daughter, the one that watches the two littles, letting me know she was sick, and wouldn't make it to our house today. I blew it off for a couple hours, then once I knew people were awake, I started texting and messaging everyone my 7 AM brain could think of. I did manage to record my podcast, but didn't stop to upload it, then went about the morning.
Still with no one available, I showered, got dressed, brushed my hair, dressed the kids, packed their stuff, and started driving towards a (recommended by many friends) drop off daycare 36 minutes away, and past my office, with still high hopes that one of three people, who hadn't gotten back to me would say yes. I have mixed feelings about daycare.
Any who.. Got them dropped off, made it to my office meeting only 30 minutes late, and now I am sitting here trying to destress. Wish me luck.

Good Morning Y'all,
I am excited that it is Monday, and I am excited that the Astros won Game 5 last night!! I moved away from Houston when I was a little kid (remember I was born here), and I came back last time they were about to go this far. So I remember moments similar to this, and I love it! I grew up watching the Astros, with my grandparents, every summer I came to visit, and every year since. The other must visit place as a kid was Six Flags. I was pretty sad to see that place leave as a teen, and I am so happy the Astros haven't gone anywhere. It wouldn't be Houston without them!!
So today is going to just be a #MOMLIFE day, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Remember my motto for it all, having my cake and eating it too. Today that will equate to my cell phone being on, and making full use of those two nap times!

One more domino fell. My daughter gave it to her boyfriend. He came over to take care of her the other night, and after doing that for two days, he caught it. Super sad, but hopefully he doesn't have to miss too much work. Being young, and missing work is not an easy thing.
For the record, I still feel like a train ran me over. I am not sure exactly why, but I guess just being lethargic or something, who knows? I didn't end up making it to my fundraiser walk today. I am just a bit out of it still. I slept in a little bit, my sweet Brent (I have nicknamed him Brenticus, like some Roman Warrior (were those even a thing?), took care of Lincoln this morning, allowing me to do so. It was nice. But morning still hit me fast and sharp. This morning, I am meeting with a current seller to reduce her price.
Pricing is a tough cookie. I like to stand by my advised pricing, but sometimes there are just situations where you list for where the seller requests. I have never had a situation like this before, so this was new territory. This was a very special circumstance. I knew these clients needed ME, so I listed where they requested. To get back to the point, they emailed me a night ago, saying I could reduce the price, so this morning we are making it official.
After my meeting I have big plans to hit up the mall.. There is something I have been wanting to purchase for a little while now, and today is the day! Any who.. To the shoooow notes..

Good Morning There!
So my night did not go as planned, really no part of my day has, but.. Sometime a bit before 3 AM, one of our daughters came downstairs proclaiming she had gotten sick. I asked her if she made it to the bathroom. She said yes, I almost did a happy dance, but then she told me, she didn't get the lid open. So if we are friends on SnapChat, I apologize for being insensitive with my 3 AM snap, I was a bit overwhelmed, and running on fumes.
Today is my day off, and by day off, I mean laundry duty, booty wiping, cheerio picking uping, as well as all other #momduties happening over here. And between that, I have been trying to upload this podcast four at least 4 hours, but my email inbox and phone alerts keep pulling my attention away from, what is typically a super easy task. I did manage to feed us all an oatmeal breakfast, so I do feel accomplished.
No complaints here, just chatting.. So yesterday happened.. I will type about the doggie and client real quick, then go into the show notes.. I arrived to take photographs a little after 2 PM, and discovered my client's husband's dog had broken the fence and ran away. I helped her deal with that, I will link the FB post below. The dog is older and sweet and all I have to show you, is a cross-stitched artistic "photo". If you see her or know someone that lives in Legends Trace, please share with them this story. She was panicked when I arrived, but we proceeded to photograph the house. She had to leave the hospital to let me in, so I hurried, as she mopped the floor. This family is ready to sell their house, I will shyly link it below. I typically would have staged this house before photographing. They are from Hungary, and ready to make it back "home".

Good Morning Y'all & Happy Weekend,
It is Saturday! It is our Anniversary, and sadly the husband is out of town. But as my consolation prize or kind of like my gift from the husband, I got to shop yesterday, within out feeling guilty, because I was told I could (I am being silly, just fyi, I don't really have to ask permission or anything) shop since Hubby missed our anniversary, and wouldn't even make it home the next day, like we assumed would be possible. Gosh that was long winded. Sorry.
So not only is it our Anniversary, but today is the day of my uncle's wedding to my soon to be aunt. They are practically the same age as me, so this will be super fun. Plus I get to see family I haven't seen in forever, and I get to hang out with my sister, who lives in Kansas! Woot woot. My dad will also be there, and my grandpa and grandma.. AND all of my favorites. I can't wait.

Yesterday was such an amazing day. I am sitting here writing this, and have yet to turn the microphone on. I am not sure I will be recording my segments today. I am pretty damn exciting about yesterday. As you know, I attended HAR Engage here in Houston, TX (the metropolis I live outside of). Bob Hale is our current president of HAR.
As President and CEO of the Houston Association of REALTORS® since 1988, Bob’s vision and drive have made HAR.com a household brand in the greater Houston area and the most frequently visited website for Houston real estate. HAR has grown to become the largest trade association in Houston and the second largest local REALTOR® association in the country with more than 36,000 members. The website recently expanded to cover the entire state of Texas, which provides even more exposure for member listings.
What I have to say about Bob Hale is that dude has #CLOUT! He and the many other faces behind HAR Engage, Lori Carper and Christ Borden, to acknowledge a couple, managed to get us some amazing speakers and a wonderful Q&A panel.
I think today's #5AMDESK podcast is going to be just talking about the event, what I got out of it, who spoke, and what they spoke about. This will work out well, because it is raining outside, and my #MOMLIFE duties will start earlier today, plus, I slept well for 5 hours, then couldn't sleep for 3, yes THREE, hours, before finally get a couple hours of fragmented sleep, so needless to say, I rather not spend all morning on my podcast.. YTT [Only got one interview in. Made it to my lunch date with the husband. We had veggie burgers. Imagine that. Did a little shopping. Got some new dinosaur decor for Lincoln's bedroom, as well as a bulletin board for my office space. Then we came home. I worked a little. He picked up kids. Then he got called to work. Boo. I didn't feel up to making dinner, so half of us had pizza and the other half had sandwiches. Then we cleaned and did tons of homework. Cameron has a project due 10/26, and she turned in her last project late, so I am making her turn this one in really early. She only has one part left. Scarlett also is working on a big-ish project. She is only in the first grade though. We have half of that left. We are also staying on top of this math stuff she has to do that I hate, and think is idiotic. But oh well. TODAY is HAR Engage! Tomorrow I have back to back meetings, so I hope my husband is home. OH, and he came home last night at 9 PM, but lost his wallet, so he headed back to the job site, but couldn't find his wallet. Sadly it is still lost. OH, and another thing. One of my clients officially put in a revised offer last night, and we should know something mid today!]

I am really excited about today and tomorrow, but I am sorry if I don't sound like it. I woke up in the middle of the night in incredible eye pain. I was wearing contacts and my right eye just hurt the worst ever. I removed my contact, and found some eye drops. When I placed the eye drops in my eye, it felt like I had put acid in my eye; of course, I have no idea what that truly feels like, but you get the picture.
So yes, I tried to sleep in, but overall I just don't feel well. Today is going to be a damp hair, no makeup, you lucky I am showing up in public, kind of day. Lol. Wish me luck.. And to the shooooow notes..

Good Morning My Lovely Friends!
Yesterday was a ball of fun. We headed to the store, bought a new backpack cooler, and loaded it up with sandwiches for the kids. We grabbed some tuna and soup for ourselves, as well as snacks galore for the kids. We grabbed the bike trailer that doubles as an oversized stroller with a "trunk" like space in the back, and that made its way into the vehicle.
We didn't have too much traffic driving down to the zoo, but oh my gosh, the way home was a carsick nightmare, and I think we left before traffic should have really been a deal. But all-in-all, we had a super fun day. It was Lincoln's first visit to the zoo, and he loved it! All the kids slept on the way home, and dinner was leftover sandwiches for them (super easy), and delicious homemade mushroom sweet potato quinoa for us! We depressingly watched some of the Astros game, and Sunday was a super successful Family Day! Oh and we bike rode to the post office. That was fun!

Today is going to be the best day ever! "We are going to the zoo zoo zoo, just me and you you you, we're going to the zoo zoo zoo.." That is the song I made my own and sang to Lincoln when he finally woke up. That dude slept in until 9 AM. What a beast. Lol.
So yes, to the zoo we go, with the whole family; there are now 7 of us in the house. Mackinzie moved out a month or so ago. She made us 8, but now she really makes us 9, cause she now has a baby girl named Katilyn!
But any who, a couple years ago, I had a family membership, and I am excited to get a new one going. I know there are some new exhibits, and I am eager to check them out. They kids got to swim and then we watched the Astros game. Besides being super exhausted, we had a lot of fun. The kids had ice cream and I might have had pudding. I haven't had pudding in forever. It was delicious, for the record. Lol.

OMgosh! Happy Friday the 13th!! Woot woot.. For once, I did not stay up late working last night.. We had some family time watching Thursday Night Football. That was a really good game. The last half was a lot more exciting to me than the beginning, but still a close game that was fun to watch overall! But of course, a catch 22 there, because, since I didn't work last night, now my morning is behind. But luckily, I have plenty of time to catch up.
The kids are home from school today, and I believe we are going to go see a movie tonight! I actually didn't think that out. Now I have to go see My Little Pony.. Hum bug.. Lol. I am not a huge fan of animated movies. As a kid, I liked a lot of them, but now my favorites, are probably still the classics. I did like HOME, but I think Frozen ruined me. Lol. Just so much singing, and so many times overplayed in my house! Lol.

I am so ready for today. I love days where things go exactly as planned, I have a babysitter in house (Mackinzie my daughter), and I get to focus on work for hours straight. I obviously have no clue if today will go as planned, I stayed up late, so made the calculated decision to record after dropping the kids off at school, but I did drop them off on time (early), got my car washed, and grabbed Starbucks for us homebodies.
OH and #SPOILER blog post alert, over the next week, I will be comparing every PSL (pumpkin spice latte) I can get my hands on, and rate them in a blog post and on air next week!
OH and let me know if you have any ideas of fun things we can do with the kids. I guess we could do a pumpkin patch! They have a 5 day weekend? Well Friday and Monday off, so whatever that means!? Lol.

Good Morning Friends,
Today I mostly talked about what I am currently focusing on. And you probably are thinking, how can one focus on that many things? But it is possible. Time blocking helps. I try to concentrate on only one thing at a time. My word for the year was "intentional", and in the last few months, I had gotten away from that word. Well I am coming back to it this month!
I also talked about wanting to fundraise for the local elementary school in my neighborhood. The sun beats down like crazy most months of the year, so I would love to provide some shade for the kids on the playground. Let me know if you would like to donate!
And one thing I forgot to mention that I want to learn more about, is the editing software I am using for #POCUMENTING. If anyone would like to hang out and teach me a bit about Adobe Audition, I would owe you big time.

I'm not sure why, but I was a little nervous while interviewing Brittney Bates, and I do say goodbye/thank you to her twice, due to forgetting to ask her my "rapid fire questions". But it is all hear!
I love Brittney so dearly. There are so many amazing things I could say about her, but more importantly, she works for a one-of-a-kind company! Chicago Title writes more title policies than any other title company, they are the only title company in the Fortune 500, and they employ only the best. Hi friends!
Yesterday was a fun filled day but was packed with lots of time in the car. My husband and I spent the whole day together, while Links tagged along. I was meeting new buyers for the first time, so he always tags along for that (for safety), and he might have to go to Mexico next week, so we trying to spend as much time together as possible.
Today's episode is a lot a bit short, because he asked me to hurry cause "he misses me". Lol. I like him too. Today, I talked about our first visit to Hopdoddy, where I had the LA BANDITA and fell in love. I love me a good veggie burger. My husband's veggie burger is my favorite followed by the La Bandita, and then the one they serve up at Houston's near The Galleria. I mostly talked about our day yesterday.
Well I'm off to enjoy a bowl of blueberry oatmeal, remove this fire pit smell from my hair, show me some houses to two new clients, and hold me an open house in Sterling Ridge! <3xojo

First off so sorry I am not feeling well. I blame the #bread, and plan to eat much healthier this upcoming week.
Yesterday was SO much fun. I loved hanging out with Brittney and Taryn of Chicago Title (..and can't forget my Carolyn, she is a fellow Realtor and one of my favorites!) at the In the Pink of Health luncheon and fundraiser . Last year they raised $650,000, and I am eager to see how much we raised this year. I participated in the silent auction and won the item I bid on, so go me. Lol.
I actually won three items, four if you count the silver picture frame from the display. I won two book club reservations for the 13th Annual Signatures Author Series Luncheon that The John Cooper School puts on, which actually takes place on my birthday this year! I also won a book, Into the Water by Paula Hawkins, a beautiful and pink Tory Burch envelope like wallet clutch. It is pretty!
More than winning something, my favorite part of the luncheon was listening to Amy Robach and Mandi Roach speak! I had so many take aways, and left inspired by BOTH of these women. Mandi is a photographer in The Woodlands, so you should look her business up on Facebook. She is amazingly talented. And of course Amy is the Good Morning America anchor who underwent her first-ever mammogram on live television, and then a week later received her breast cancer diagnosis.
Any who, just wanted to shed a little light on those two organizations. In the Pink does so much for the community (all their fundraised money stays local), and because the Author Series Luncheon also benefits those have been effected by Hurricane Harvey!

Things I forgot to talk about: I was listening to Brain Twins yesterday, and they mentioned "stream of consciousness" as a type of podcast. That was a new term for me, and today totally hit that on the nose. The girls at Freebirds on Lake Woodlands Drive are the nicest. Well the two making our burritos were so personable. They made an impression on us! AND I can't wait to see Brittney from Chicago Title today! Love that girl. Well..

Good Morning!!
There is nothing better for your life or business than being happy. I feel being positive has so many benefits, and that is the outlook I want to have on each and every day. Days like today, ones where I get to be out and about meeting people, and doing my thing, are so rewarding. And by taking the kids to school and picking them up, I feel like I get to have my cake and eat it too. They get to learn and do their thing, and then we get to hang out and make memories rest of the time. I just want to say #sweet. Lol.
Today I talked about temporarily relocating my #5AMDESK to the dining room, surprise phone calls yesterday that added two new clients to my focus, a new piece of data driven pricing software I purchased & downloaded, Friday's closing, and how excited I am for the day's events.
You should be seeing my original first podcast that I recorded a year ago, hit the interwebs today, and then my #acupwithjo from today (Love me some Brittney time) hit soon there after.

Hi y'all & good morning!
I am a tiny bit frustrated. My morning routine fell apart this morning. Snuggling my sick husband sounded like more fun than not. Plus he has been gone for so long, I am absorbing up as much time with him as possible. But beside all that, I need to figure out how to record my #5AMDESK when everyone in the house is sleeping, and all rooms are taken up with those sleeping bodies. Going outside was the only solution that arose during this #nearrant of a podcast. I will continue to ponder this all day, and hopefully will be more prepared for tomorrow's.
Today I talked about how I love Mondays, how we got our house for super cheap, that we need more rooms, and how I am excited about Friday's 17th Annual In the Pink of Health Luncheon at Memorial Hermann in The Woodlands.

Good Morning Y'all,
Somebody slept in today. I blame the husband. He is the best excuse. Lol. I am ready for today and so secretly excited for Monday. I love family days, but I also love Mondays.
I now have a bowl of freshly made plum oatmeal in front of me. Gosh he spoils me. I love when the husband is home!
Anyways, today I recapped on my yesterday. We did visit Obstacle Warrior Kids. I have a few complaints, but hate to make those official, so I didn't. But all in all, the kids loved it. I also visited a flooded home, which I talk about in detail.

Good Morning Friends,
I am coming to you a little bit later than normal, and I am going to guess this will end up being a weekend habit, since we let the kids stay up later on the weekends. Half of today will be set aside for work (the first half), but then I will be family day-ing it up, with a visit to Obstacle Warrior Kids in The Woodlands.
The first thing I shared today was my answer to the question, Why did I get into real estate? It is a full disclosure answer, so hopefully I effectively answered it. I can get a bit emotion when thinking back to that point in my past.
Any who, I also shared 5 awesome things that I am excited about right now, including my husband coming home today, and my daughter (she is the one that just made us grand parents in our 30s!) joining my team and moving closer to us! <3

Good Morning Y'all,
Yesterday I realized that when you search for A Cup with Jo in iTunes, it doesn't pop up, because I have only been writing it into the title bar as a hashtag, so oops about that. Hopefully by typing it correctly in the description, it will be more discoverable.
On a positive note, today is going to be amazingly awesome. I am in such a fantastic mood, so I don't know how anything else would be possible. I did my morning routine, and I am pumped. (Probably because I get to see my husband tomorrow!)
I don't know if you could tell, but for some reason I was super nervous on yesterday's #5AMDESK, and then today I sped talked the whole time. I think it is because I rushed through my morning routine, because my mind/brain dump (on paper) was the longest ever, so in order to make sure I had time for my podcast before doing Cameron's hair for picture day, was to rush, and then that led to accidentally speed talking once I made it to the podcast, so sorry about that, if that is annoying. #microblog
Today I talked about the documentary you can find on Netflix called What the Health, my personal eating habits, my late night dinner at Grab N Go Tacos here in Klein / Spring, making new friends, and who I have scheduled to interview for my A Cup with Jo podcast.

I am so excited for today, (warning I think a #microblog is coming), I have the day planned around my kids, so a bit more of that #havingmycakeandeatingittoo today. We are going to hit up the library and see some old friends by "working".
Today I decided to talk a little bit about one of my favorite books, The Four Agreements, so the bulk of today is that.
I actually forgot to go into something I am really excited about, so I will remember to share that tomorrow! I have the production under way for something I have been working on for quite some time, but again, saving that for tomorrow.

Hello again!
This morning started off pretty darn good.. I gotta say. I actually made it through my morning routine, showered, dabbed some makeup on my face, got the kids to school on time, got a car wash, dropped off that key I mention on the audio and was only 5 minutes late to my first meeting.
I uploaded yesterday's podcast as soon as I got to the office, and today, I wasn't upload it until 9PM. So this little #microblog text is after the fact. Quite odd for me. But today was a pretty good success, minus the fact that dinner wasn't home cooked. #ITHAPPENS

Good Morning Y'all,
This is the first episode from my 5 AM desk, that I just set up a few days ago and put the finishing touches on last night. Lately it has been my MIDNIGHT desk as well, so this first hello comes to you on what I am calling a "cheat day" since it is actually 7 AM.
I created "A Cup with Jo", as my way to get out in the community and document some conversations and interviews I have during my business day. I have since recorded one episode but have yet to edit it.
I am reading a new book right now, and ready to really put all my dreams and goals into action, so to get my podcast off the ground and running, I have decided to document my journey via coming to you from my #5AMDESK.
I am guessing this will evolve, but welcome. <3xojo
