The Teamster View podcast is a new podcast produced by Teamsters Local 1932 to help both members and non-members stay connected to the issues that drive us and the movement we’re building together. Program hosted by Mario Vasquez and Teamsters Local 1932 Secretary-Treasurer Randy Korgan.
On this episode of the Worker Power Hour, James Martinez returned for another edition of James Bites Back, sharing his latest restaurant reviews and reporting on the local spots he recently tried.
We were also joined by Chris Garlock and Harold Phillips to discuss the growing collaboration between the Worker Power Radio Network and the Labor Radio Network. In this episode we talk about how the County has released the 2023 to 2024 medical rates for its plans and what it means for our members.
Bargaining units throughout the County have seen significant reductions in how much the medical plans cost over the last four years since we last bargained for the MOU, and the County’s rate should be alarming to you and your family. Still, the announcement of these rates is premature.
That is why the Teamsters Local 1932 Health and Welfare fund Trustees have decided to postpone establishing rates until negotiations have concluded, so members of the Trust will see rates will stay the same until bargaining has ended and we can identify how much the county is willing to commit to your behalf.
