We are created relational beings and we thrive when our relationships are wholesome and healthy. This us why the state or our homes is so important. A happy home is not a luxury but necessary for the wellbeing of all in that home. I believe that to build or create a happy home you must first become a happy person. Realise that lasting happiness cannot be found in external things, but understanding who you are and the value you carry will help you discover the path to true and lasting happiness.This podcast will explore everything you need to BE, DO, HAVE in order to build a H.A.P.P.Y Home. The H.A.P.P.Y is an acronym that stands for HAPPY. AUTHENTIC. PURPOSEFUL. POWERFUL.YOU.
I was privileged to attend an International Womans Conference in Dubai last month. One of the speakers said something very profound while sharing about Rwanda's post genocide journey of healing and reconciliation. Her statement got me thinking about the dangers of negative focus.
So, on this episode I talk about the power of focus from a different angle.The power of focus. The importance of focus. The necessity of focusing right. Equality is about ensuring everyone has the same measure but equity says one person might need more than the other, and in spirit of fairness it's important to recognise that and act on it.

Somehow I always find myself talking about expectations. Perhaps it's because I have come to realise how vital it is for couples to understand the role expectations play in marital satisfaction.
Being able to recognise the unrealistic expectations that you have of your partner is critical for managing disappointments . The pursuit of happiness! We often wait for external events to make us happy. We place the burden of our happiness on someone or something outside of us.
Working with couples getting married and couples in their early years of marriage, I find that they expect their partners to bring them happiness. And they also expect that be married guarantees automatic happiness.
If you are married, you already know that it just doesn't work that way. Not at all! Marriage is really like an empty box. We get out of it, what we put into it.
So, on finding happiness in life or marriage, I ask you how much happiness do you carry on the inside?
This episode will challenge you to look inwards as you learn to take personal responsibility for creating the life you desire.

Happiness is such a big word and may mean different things to different people, everyone wants to be happy. What does it mean to be happy? Is happiness about fairytales? Is it dependent on events or occurrences?
In this very first episode, I lay the foundation for our explorations into this all important topic by looking at a few definitions of the word ‘happy”. I ponder on the things people look to in order to be happy. I ask the all important question, ‘what makes a couple go from blissfully happy to unhappy in just a few short years of marriage. Happiness is not about fairytales, but it is not outside of our reach.
