Join this week’s hosts, Joss, Jen, Quinn and Rebecka for an all new episode of The Gender Agenda! Tonight we cover a range of topics; from access to surgery, to international attention on the trans community. First the team begin with a chat about their weekends, highlights include Joss and Jen’s night out at beers for queers and Joss getting an opportunity to communicate in Auslan. Rebecka saw “I know what you did last summer” which inevitably leads the group on a tangent about Sarah Michelle Geller for some time. A segment emerges after some slight technical difficulties. Quinn is thrown into the raging waters of time and washes ashore with a memory of a recent night out seeing the first drag performer featured at ACCA, Kween Kong! After a break we ease into some deeper topics brought to us by Jen and Rebecka. Jen opens a conversation about a trans/intersex rally in Dublin with and incredible turnout, sighting it had more people in attendance than St Patricks Day and how heartwarming this was to see. Jen mentions Ireland still has some way to go however in terms of policy, as conversion practices are still not banned in all of Ireland. Rebecka ponders the group their thoughts on surgery, and an in depth discussion of access and what that looks like ensues. Rebecca bings up the progress Australia has made, referring back to policies that made gender recognition far more restricted in the past. Joss points out the paperwork side of things for her was less difficult that she imagined. Altogether though the group echoes the sentiment that primarily finances make access difficult, but also things like location and a lack of free time is still an invariable barrier to surgery for many trans people today. We wrap up with and interview by Joss with local artist, Local Sweetheart. They discuss being non binary and they beauty and community of finding an audience as a queer artist. Originally aired with music from trans/non binary artists alongside the conversation.

Join Joss, Jen, Chloé, Lee and special guest Kermy for an all new episode of The Gender Agenda! Tonight’s episode the topic of the week is very close to home, it was NON BINARY AWARENESS WEEK! Our hosts include multiple wonderful non binary or gender fluid identities and between them and our other gorgeous hosts, they get into it over a broad range of non binary related hot topics. Originally aired with music from trans/gender non conforming artists alongside the conversation. Our team first get into their weekends, and we are introduced to the new voices of the show, Kermy and Lee. After introductions Joss reads a statement from Ray Sabean, discussing the importance of living outside of western held standards of gender. Lee talks about our first track by electric fields, how it relates to naidoc week, and the importance of recognising intersecting identities with gender non conformity, especially with our indigenous siblings. Afterwards Kermy expresses relating to the statement read confirming they too “don’t like much from the dominant culture” in relation to their gender. Kermy is asked a few questions by Chloé and all get into a juicy convo around some of their shared experiences, particularly Joss, Lee and Jen. After a break our hosts get into debunking myths about non binary people lead by Jen. As well as some questions for our in-house registered trans psych Lee.
Music originally aired:
“One Milkali (One Blood)”- Electric fields
“Its Raining Them”- Mila Jam
“You spin me right round”- Dead or Alive

Join Joss, Jen, Chloe, and Quinn for a very special first episode back to The Gender Agenda!! The same show but revamped and remixed for the climate of 2025 with all new music and discussions. In Tonight’s episode the new crew introduce themselves, explain the rundown of the show and get into individually lead discussions about what brought them to the show and what their hopes are for the trans community. Our first segment is with Quinn, discussing what it was like to transition medically as a teenager. Quinn is a performer/writer living in naarm working across many venues such as the Motley Bauhaus and recently featured as a finalist in Thursgay’s yearly Pride Pageant. The following segment we hear from Jen and Chloe. Jen works in the construction industry alongside her work with JOY on other shows. She discusses toxic masculinity as well as radical acceptance from people she didn’t think would necessarily understand her. Chloe, a showgirl, performer and local trans icon. She discusses going stealth, and coming back out to the queer community amongst many other keen and witty insights along the way. Our final segment is lead by Joss, a well known voice on multiple shows on JOY, as well as an award winning influencer! She discusses transitioning in different generations, as well as her experience identifying as non binary before the full realisation of her womanhood. We hope you enjoy the fresh new episode of The Gender Agenda!
