On this episode, we acknowledge that we all did weird things during the pandemic. Did you shave your chest? Abandon your mandatory cart in the grocery store? Have you shaken hands with a man lately? I've got some bad news for you... Then, Kyle tells a story about a string of irrational decisions ( likely induced by the lack of development in the 18-year-old male brain) that led him to do the most shameful thing he's ever done! The reason we're sharing it now is that there can be no (legal repercussions because the statute of limitations has expired! Didn't we all do dumb things in high school?
Big things have been happening this year. Kyle learned a newskill and has a major life update to share with the friends of the show. Then, for the bulk of the show, we catch up on some social media polls from the moredistant past…. But better late than never. What colors do you associate withdifferent months of the year? Most of you don’t do it at all, so this segmentwill probably be incoherent rambling. You may have wondered before, what domanila folders and vomit have in common? You’ll finally find your answer onthis segment. Then, we fulfill what the internet was created for- determininghow Christian certain non-Christian songs actually are. Then, Kyle ends theshow with what is perhaps the least surprising recommendation of the week inthe history of (NA)CP!
Welcome Back! After a long hiatus, it's good to be back! Kyle starts off talking about trips coming up in the near future and talks about the event that (maybe) served as the catalyst for the comeback episode of (NA)CP! It involves a scooter, a guy getting roasted and a bell-less tower. Then, Kyle uploads a segment that he recorded 6 months ago and just now got around to editing. Oops. Then, to end it, of course we talk about Mat Kearney, because this is (Not A) Christian Podcast.
This episode is all about the upcoming tournament! Join Kyle as he walks through Christmas traditions like matching family pajamas, parades, Krampus, Egg Nog and much more!
Kyle begins this show by telling the story of his latest impulsive purchase and how it affects the recording of the podcast. Then, the long-anticipated results of the Christian Villain Draft are revealed! And 103 episode into this thing, Kyle comes to a disturbing realization that some people may be doing certain... things while listening to the show. Then, since we’re catching up, Kyle updates you on his latest travel adventures where he meets the worst flight attendant he’s ever seen. But it’s okay, because we got content out of it! Then, we revisit Young Earth Creationism, as we (once again) dive into our series on the beginning of time. To end the show, Kyle revisits a childhood staple, but is met with disappointment that he will for sure have nightmares about!
Did anyone else use breath mints and lemon lime drinks to cure all ailments or was that just me? Follow along with Kyle's uninteresting adventure in being sick and pulling out all the elementary school cures! Then, Josh is back for one more episode where we draft our teams of Christian villains! Come and see the most dastardly figures we could contrive in the Bible, Church History, the prosperity realm and more! Who is the King of the Prosperity gospel? Can we name any actual heretics in church history? Also, find out about the gentlemen's agreement that we made to exclude the two figures that were too GOATed to be included in the draft!
Since we talked for way too long in last week's episode, Josh is back for the second installment (of three) of the 100 episode celebration! We begin talking about some adventures our freshman year, including a vampiric professor, a singular snore that still haunts Josh and a sad case of mistaken identity. Next, Josh runs some fact checks on Kyle about past segments of the show- and they turn Kyle's childhood on its head. Then Josh presents Kyle with some out of context (NA)CP quotes and Kyle has no idea what they're about- there was even one too risque to include on the show! Next, Josh digs into his (literal) bag of tricks, which catalyzes what Kyle says may be his favorite moment ever on the show! We bring it to a close with the story of the literal worst roommate ever- so if you have a bad roommate, listen to this episode to make yourself feel better!
For the literal 100th time, welcome back to the show! Today I'm joined by my longtime friend (but only recent friend of the show), Josh Nichols. You don't want to miss the feat of endurance, dedication and absurdity that led to him being the one chosen to share in this momentous episode. We tell a couple of old stories, including the time Josh tried to bamboozle a gas station and a pseudonymous encounter from 11 years ago! We also do a segment looking back on Josh's perception of Kyle's right and (allegedly) wrong opinions. Of course, this leads down a rabbit trail talking about the time Josh tried to conquer one of the world's largest airports on foot and the hilarity and romance (?) that ensued! This episode is packed until the very end as we introduce the next piece of (NA)CP merch and engage in the clumsiest sign-off ever!
This week, Kyle lets you in on some behind-the-scenes info on the recording of (NA)CP! Find out why he hasn't been able to run the air conditioner for the past year while recording the show and how that's all changed! Next, we close out the "Kyle's moving again" Chronicles by talking about the mishaps that happened in the moving process. Kyle reflects on a recent trips and the interesting dynamics that happen on airplanes. We also revisit a year-old plea and petition to be reunited with our favorite fast food breakfast- and it worked! The majority of this show is spent revisiting some largely forgotten worship hits and ranking them in countdown style! Finally, you'll get a hint at who the guest is for next week's episode 100 of (NA)CP!
This is the bracketology episode for the 2023 Summer Tournament! Listen as Kyle gives his picks on which songs will advance in the tournament and which song he thinks will eventually be crowned as the worst song of all time! Of course, we check the Bro Country boxes by talking about trucks, tractors, boots and honky-tonks. Next, it wouldn't be an episode of (NA)CP without some bad opinions, so of course, Kyle actually likes some of these songs. Listen for lyric readings, cringy spoken word segments & nostalgia!
This episodes starts off with an update of Kyle's living situation- and you guessed it- he's moving again. How many times does this make? It's over 20! Then, we revisit some of the more popular segments in the history of (NA)CP- with a twist. We'll just say that Kyle's role as the host of (NA)CP won't be overtaken by robots any time soon. Hear about Kyle's sitcom-like day that includes nothing that's actually funny and the alternate universe version of the weirdest thing that Kyle's ever experienced. Then we talk about the loathsome things like baby talk, dog culture and ungloved hands that you guys submitted to see which one is actually the worst of them all! Finally, the recommendation of the week is proof that Kyle is becoming a granola girl, but he's not upset about it.
This episode begins with Kyle getting caught up with his audience about normal parts of the human condition- like drinking water from paper cones and eating shredded cheese right out of the bag. And while we're on the topic of cheese, Kyle talks about an event that he's been obsessed with for well over a decade- it's also cheese-related. Then, for the rest of the episode, we find out what the general (NA)CP audience likes, loathes or is indifferent to. We cover topics like store-bought tortillas, half-sheet paper towels, Instagram accounts for dogs and getting licked by dogs. And for good measure, Kyle includes a few moments of an ASMR experience for those who have never had the pleasure of hearing it- you don't want to miss this!
If you like stories, this very well may be the most story-heavy episode in the history of (NA)CP. Life update- Kyle’s been Door Dashing and It’s taken him to places I’ve never been- for better or worse. Then Kyle discovers what everybody else probably already knows about- Ghost Kitchens. What does Stranger Things have to do with chicken strips cooked in the back of an I-Hop? I don’t know- but we talk about it on the show. Then on his trip to New York, Kyle meets three interesting characters- a prisoner, an angry atheist and an ultimate street fighter. You don’t want to miss this- especially the part where Kyle almost gets assaulted in the streets. Finally, Kyle went to the Kyle Festival in Kyle, Texas in an attempt to break a world record!
This is a results episode! Join me as I walk through the results of the March Madness Bible Character Edition Tournament. Of course, Kyle laughs at his own jokes- this time, he even laughs remembering a joke that he made weeks ago. This tournament didn’t bring us any major surprises or upsets, but the storylines were top-notch. The tournament entailed beatdowns, ties and close matchups- but the real success is the friends we made along the way. Of course, a new tournament means there’s a new (or repeating?) champion that is crowned a legend of (NA)CP!
In this episode, Kyle begins with a casual discussion about how his favorite grocery store is inconveniencing him by trying to brainwash kids into a lifetime of brand loyalty! It's probably effective, but throws off Kyle's grocery store groove on a daily basis. Learn the plights of returning to podcasting after 3 months of no uploads. Then, we spend way too long talking about something that is no longer even relevant. But because Kyle loves hashing out the past, he makes up for lost time by talking about the segment that never was- the best albums of 2022. And of course, Kyle encourages you to enter the newest bracket challenge because you could be a legend of NA(CP)!
A big time welcome back to the show! It’s been about three months and we’ve got a lot to catch up on including the newest reoccurring character in Kyle’s life who approaches strangers in public and only speaks in Vladimir Putin Jokes! Next, we spend the episode going through the March Madness: Bible Character Edition Bracket and Kyle gives all his picks and thoughts on the Bible Characters. Of course, this episode is full of hot takes including women’s roles in the Bible, he authorship of Genesis and the over-popularity of David. It’s good to be back and I can’t wait for you to listen to this one!
Welcome to the 2022 (NA)CP Christmas Special. To begin this episode, we go over all things Christmas Trivia! Listen to find out how long it took Kyle to actually learn how to spell 'Santa Claus' and how Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer is the most unjust Christmas movie of all time! To close out the show, Kyle muses on current Christian culture and how it relates to the way we celebrate Christmas. Has legalism affected the way we view holidays? Is Christmas Pagan? Why have we turned "Merry Christmas" into a political football? All this and more on this episode of (NA)CP!
On this show, we walk through the results of the (NA)CP Christmas Movie Throwdown Tournament and the bracket challenge! This was one of the more unique tournaments in the history of the show and the bracket challenge was the biggest ever! Follow along to hear exactly how voting played out in every matchup and to see how you did in the bracket challenge!
For the first time in a while, we've got a guest episode! These fellow podcasters have NEVER revealed their true identities on their own show, but they do it on today's episode of (NA)CP! This is one of the more... unique episodes of (NA)CP. Songs breaker out, the bleep button comes back and weird opinions on socks and grape butts come out. And join us as we reveal the shocking and sad truth behind the Christmas hit, Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer. To round out the show, it's The Peanut Gallery vs. (Not A) Christian Podcast as we draft a team of sandwich chain restaurants that you'll get to decide the winner of!
On this episode of the show, Kyle starts by recounting a recent travel experience where he's about 80% sure he saw an obscure Christian Celebrity who is also a man-child! Then, Kyle attempts to set the record for the amount of times he's said the name of his favorite singer in a single show! Kyle's Spotify Wrapped contains no surprises, as usual, but maybe you can us it as a recommendation. To finish the show, Kyle finishes a tier list from weeks ago as we talk about Swifties, Skunk apes, Cross-fitters and other weird things that people base their personalities on!
In this episode, Kyle begins yet again with an adventure on Facebook Marketplace, buying something he has no use for. Then, we talk about the only hero that can save New York City- the Rat Czar! Find out if you could be this hero! Then, Kyle walks through the Christmas bracket to determine what he thinks you will vote to be the greatest Christmas movie ever. And of course, it wouldn't be a bracketology episode if Kyle didn't threaten to quit if things didn't go his way, so that definitely happens. Find out how you can enter the bracket challenge and be the next (NA)CP Legend!
On this episode, we walk through the latest (NA)CP tournament results! As usual, there are upsets, intrigue and all-around good times! See some of your favorites, like "Daddy God," Enneagram Culture and Celebrity Pastors battle it out for the ultimate title of the worst thing that Christians should definitely stop doing. We follow that up with walking through the bracket challenge with a familiar group of contestants battling it out for (NA)CP royalty- Some brackets were bad. Some were okay. Only one reigns supreme! To end the show, Kyle talks about the month of December, which will be an unprecedented month for (NA)CP!
On this episode of the show, Kyle starts off with the third annual Halloween segment- except it's only a 60ish second summary of every Halloween segment that I've ever done on the show. The main segment of the show is going over the Young Earth Creationist view as a part of our Dawn of Time series. This is the first of several weeks in which we'll be talking about different views on creation. Listen along as the veins pop out in Kyle's neck as he tries to convey an unbiased presentation of a theological position he doesn't agree with! To close out the show, we talk about weird things people base their personalities on. Learn Kyle's opinions on Calvinism, coffee & Texas, even though you've probably heard them before!
It's time for another tournament! This episode kicks off with a brief aside about how Iphones have been notifying your family that you're in physical danger! The rest of the show is dedicated to giving Kyle's predictions about how the up coming tournament will go! This tournament is the Tournament of Things Christians Should Stop Doing! Listen to hear Kyle's thoughts on people who say 'Daddy God,' use God as an excuse to end a relationship, Christian Thirst Traps and what it would be like to become a Christian in a Walmart bathroom!
We've made it to two years of (Not A) Christian Podcast! Kyle begins by recounting a series of unfortunate events that unfolded this weekend and how his psycho ex-girlfriend (Alpine) won't let him leave! Then, the whole episode is devoted to reflecting back on what the past two years have been like. Kyle counts down the top 10 moments of the past year and ranks the past tournaments we've done on the show. He ends by revealing the next (NA)CP tournament!
To start about the show, Kyle spends time recounting the most atrocious-tasting milkshake of his life- this experience is comparable only to drinking a candle. Then, we spend way too long talking about microwavable meals, microwave protocol and the delicacy that is a TV dinner. Next, a chain of events involving aggressively stirred marinara sauce and defective coffee cups causes Kyle to unearth his long-lost ‘nacho pants’ story from high school! And at long last, we start what was supposed to be the summer series! But since it's officially Fall, we will henceforth refer to it simply as 'the series.' We talk about some preliminary things and introduce the Dawn of Time series, discussing Genesis, creation and the beginning of all things! The show ends by providing commentary on the latest movie that nobody asked for: God's Not Dead 593! or 5.... something around that range.
It's back! The greatest podcast that just happens to be Christian has returned from its break! To start off, Kyle gives a little update on what life is like in a new place. So many things have changed. Wingstop has sandwiches. The kings of bro country have called it quits. Kyle disappeared to the desert for three years and came back to bottomless muffins and ice cream that shamelessly panders to social causes. The majority of this episode is a Keep It or Can It segment, where we talk about all things college! Sit back and take a walk down memory lane with Kyle as he talks about late night Whataburger runs, hiding behind trees to not get caught skipping class and what to never do as a freshman!
This show kicks off by Kyle talking about his new morning routine and accidentally gets profound and inspirational. But of course, we spiral into irreverence as we spend way too long talking about snack foods and brackets. Kyle masterfully comes up with analogies to draw lines between the world of snack foods and worship music. Also important to note, Kyle is starting to not care anymore (but in a cool way) and is throwing down more shade and slander on other people’s brackets and bringing up past losses and failures! Find out which snack you voted as the greatest of all time and find out who had the best bracket and is the newest (or recurring) (NA)CP Legend!
Kyle begins by talking about the biggest problem about living in a bigger town- navigating parking lots without looking dumb. However, that’s all the time we have for irreverence, as the rest of the episode revisiting a topic from earlier in the year- abortion and Roe vs. Wade. Unless you’ve been living under a rock lately, you know why. We talk primarily about what we do now- now that a goal Roe vs. Wade is overturned, does it mean that the work is over? How should we talk to others, how should we act and how should we communicate with people who have different opinions than us? What does it mean to become a wholistically more just society?
At long last, welcome back to the show! We went on a little unplanned break, but we’re back and there are some changes coming to life and to the show! SPOILER ALERT: They’re all good changes. Kyle reflects on life lately and all the changes that have come with it. The majority of the show is bracketology for the upcoming (NA)CP Tournament! Listen to Kyle’s trash opinions on snack foods including the greatness that is Funyuns! Also, listen to how Goldfish and Girlscouts are both scamming you into buying their products. Kyle may set a record in this week’s show for how many times he’s laughed at his own jokes, so you don’t wanna miss it!
This show opens up with a huge dump of half-baked conspiracies that Kyle has been mulling over in his head lately. Learn what it has to do with Chick-Fil-A, running out of gas, Dalmatians (which aren't even real) and people named Ralph. Maybe you're a drone and you don't even know it! Next, we have part 2 of Keep It or Can It: Summer Edition. Learn as Kyle laments the troubles associated with Slip 'n Slides, Capri Sun and sizzling seatbelts. And, for the first time ever, Kyle is calling out a listener of (NA)CP to start a long-overdue beef! Are you the person he calls out? Find out on this week's show!
Happy Memorial Day Weekend! This episode begins with yet another Facebook Marketplace report- only it's not funny because it was with a normal person who did not provide any entertainment value or podcast content. This rest of this episode is all about summer. We walk through all things good, bad and nostalgic about summer! You voted for this Keep It or Can It Segment and we're going to hear how the voting turned out as well as Kyle's opinion on everything! Whether it's drinking from a hose, smelling like a coconut or swimming with alligators, we cover it on this show. To wrap it up, Kyle reveals what the (NA)CP Tournament will be this year!
Welcome back to (Not A) Christian Podcast, which will soon become the Facebook Marketplace Adventures Podcast! Next, the Tik Tok Algorithm is a little flawed, as Kyle keeps getting ads that say that he can atone for his own sin simply by enrolling in a Christian Studies Degree! To wrap up the show, Kyle recounts the story of the weirdest thing that has ever happened to him. It involves an old man, the Korean war, massages and dates all the way back before Kyle was even born! Buckle up because it gets weird!
On this episode, Kyle give an update on last week's Facebook Marketplace situation. It turns out a celebrity was trying to buy Kyle's broken TV! Next, we announce the winner of last week's Most Annoying Christian Subculture draft! The majority of this episode is spent diving into your unpopular opinions. You submitted them and social media voted to determine who has the worst opinion on the internet. See what you guys decided on ranch dressing, Buc-ee's, fur babies and much more!
Elon Musk bought Twitter, in case you didn't know. What does that mean? Memes! Kyle shares his super in-depth perspective on current events, which is just laughing until the next thing happens. But then we take a serious turn as Elon Musk (probably a friend of the show) is the only hope to revive one of Kyle's favorite fast food items that was recently discontinued. Then Kyle tells about the time where he almost got catfished on Facebook Marketplace by a beautiful great star in the universe! Then, we welcome back former internet Calvinist Nate Carlson for a draft of Annoying Christian Subcultures! Listen as we share our thoughts on pyramid schemes, celebrity pastor wannabes and much more!
Today, we have the first-ever recurring guest on the show! See what Nate Carlson has been up to over the past year-and-a-half. SPOILER ALERT: He’s been writing more books! This time, it’s called Shadow and Sword and it’s the first of a young adult fantasy trilogy! Come listen as we answer many burning questions such as: What is the most rewarding part of writing? Does Nate consider his own writings to be equal to the Bible? Will Kyle be a villain in a future book in the trilogy? Then we talk about the wins, struggles and joys of creating things!
Welcome to this special tax day edition of (NA)CP! We also throw in some stuff about the Resurrection of Jesus... On this episode full of theological musing, we talk about all things pertaining to the resurrection of Jesus- or at least the things that popped into Kyle's head. We look at some of the evidences of the resurrection, but more importantly, the implications of the resurrection. Were we created to die and go to heaven or does the Bible paint a different picture about our purpose? What is truth and why is is so imporant that the resurrection of Jesus actually happened? We talk about all this and more today! Happy Easter!
Welcome to this Saturday edition of (NA)CP. Find out why it's a day late and what it has to do with Bambi's Mom! In this episode, we go back and look at every matchup from the March Madness Worst Christian Song Edition Tournament! We go through every matchup and talk about Cinderellas, tiebreakers, upsets and more! Then we look at every entry for the bracket challenge- from the worst bracket ever submitted, to the developing storylines in (NA)CP tournament lore, this bracket challenge had it all! Find out who cements their place as a (NA)CP Legend in this episode!
Welcome back to normalcy- or at least the closest we get to it on this show. On this special April Fool's day edition of (NA)CP, there is definitely nothing to be suspicious of. It's a completely normal show. Nothing fishy here. Listen to Kyle kick off the show by ranting about one of the most inconsequential things yet- coffee cups. Next, I announce the winner of the Bible Character Draft from Episode 067! You'll want to hear about the collusion and general foolishness that went into the voting and how it affected the results. Then, in the main segment of today's show, Kyle reflects on the recent documentary that came out about Hillsong Church which details lots of misconduct and allegations against the church. Finally, in honor of April Fool's day, Kyle tells some old stories about some of the greatest pranks he's pulled in his life!
In this episode, we run throught then entire March Madness: Worst Christian Song Editon bracket and (as always) Kyle give his predictions and opinions on each matchup. Have you ever wondered what Kyle thinks about Mandisa, Skillet, Church Clap and Christian rap? You're in luck. But at one point, we have to take a break for Kyle to give an update on the closest he's ever come to death while recording a podcast episode! But when we pick the action back up, Kyle suffers multiple cases of second-hand embarassment when he reads the lyrics to Christian raps songs. Listen to this episdoe and fill out your own bracket by Monday, March 21st!
If you had fun in last week's episode, you're in luck! Hunter and Kelsey are back! In this episode, we each assemble a team of Bible Characters through a draft. It became apparent early that one particular participant had a team that completely and totally denies the sovereignty of God and another participant came way more prepared than anyone else! Listen as Kyle doesn't let God on his team until the very last pick. You'll get to vote for which person you think drafted the best team in a poll that will be posted in the near future.
On this episode of the show, we have special guests Hunter and Kelsey Brown! Learn how one of Kyle's most miserable seminary experiences helped bring together a couple who is now married! The majority of this episode is spent discussing the authority of Scripture- namely how we differentiate the authority of Scripture from the interpretation of Scripture. Kyle read a third of an article on the subject and brought that to the table, so you're pretty much getting the most insightful information possible!
Get ready to be taken on a ride like never before. In this episode of (NA)CP, more chaos and ridiculousness ensues than ever before in the history of (NA)CP. First, Kyle talks about his microwave experience that finally sent him over the edge in encouraging the government to overreach into our homes and our kitchen. Next, a weird item on Facebook Marketplace causes Kyle to have his most interesting guest in the show's history (who also became the first guest to be cast off the show in Jesus' name). We close it out by playing a game of "Real or Fake" and look at how you guys voted on the veracity of several Facebook groups. Some are real, some are fake, but they're all ridiculous. Help Kyle find Giancarlo Morocco and listen in amazement as Kyle systematically proves to you that North Dakota doesn't exist and how Ed Sheeran is behind the conspiracy!
Welcome back to our third and final week of our Abortion Series! Before we get started on that, Kyle does a couple of quick rants about unwanted emails and messing with people who send political text messages. The main segement of the show pertains to our ongoing Abortion Series. Our main goal today is to answer common objections, such as "A woman has the right to choose," "Pro-lifers only care about the baby before it's born and not after" as well as some Biblical passages that are sometimes used to support a pro-choice perspective.
In this episode, we kick it off with Kyle telling you more about his shoes than you probably ever expected to know. We start beef with Amazon Prime, talk about smelly Pumas and remember what shoes are for in the first place. Then, we go over two exciting chances you have: One is to be the designer of the next (NA)CP Sticker and the other is to get 7 benefits for $7 per month! For the main segment of the show, we continue our series on abortion and talk about the sanctity of life from a Biblical perspective and what it means that we are created in the Image of God and how that relates to abortion.
Today, we’re joined by Kasey Scott. Kasey is a musical artist who is releasing an album called “Before It Piles Up” on the same day as the release of this podcast! On this episode, we talk about Kasey’s musical upbringing, the state of Contemporary Christian Music, musical inspirations, guilty pleasure songs, saying the alphabet backwards and his most embarrassing moment while leading worship. Then we talk about Kasey’s new album, which draws inspiration from questions and doubts surrounding the Bible, The Church, evangelism, racial issues and much more.
We're back from our break! As promised, we're coming in hot with one of the most controversial topics in our culture: Abortion. In the first part of this multi-week series, we address common pro-choice objections such as, "Why can a man talk about abortion?" and "My body, my choice." The primary focus of today's episode is answering, what are the unborn? Are the unborn human or something else? What have science and technology taught us in recent years that we had no way of knowing before? Listen as we address those questions and lay out what the rest of this series will be about!
In this episode of (NA)CP, we count down Kyle's list of the top 15 album of 2021! It contains some usual suspects and some newcomers. To close out the show, we count down the top 10 worst days of the year including Leap Day, Valentine's Day and the day of this podcast release!
We made it to another Christmas- that means another (NA)CP Christmas Special! We kick this show off with a historical deep-dive going over the history of how we got our modern day Santa. Learn how Krampus, Belsnickel and Black Peter fit into all of this. To close out the show, we go over the results of our latest edition of This or That. Hear Kyle's opinion on Christmas Little Debbies, caroling and even hear him recant a previous opinion he stated on last year's Christmas special!
On this episode, we talk about everything to do with the (NA)CP Christmas Carol Throwdown Tournament! We walk through every matchup to see which Christmas carol you voted as the greatest of all time. We had a record number of submissions for the bracket challenge, so we go over all the lowlights of everyone's brackets and reveal the winner of the bracket challenge!
Listen in real time to Kyle’s voice deteriorating because of sickness! We pushed through and talked through Kyle’s Spotify Wrapped, which said Kyle was the main character in 2021! I’m sure Spotify didn’t say that to anyone else… We stick with the music theme for the entirety of the show as Kyle finally delivers on a promise he made a year ago and goes through the list of his Top 10 musical artists of all time!
We kick off this episode by talking about the downfall of Black Friday which now lasts an entire month for some reason. Has the mystique of trampling strangers for a $5 toaster faded away? We discuss all this and more. The bulk of this episode is spent by Kyle giving his breakdown of every matchup of the upcoming Christmas Carol Throwdown Tournament. Who does Kyle have as his winner? Which songs does Kyle inexplicably hate? Don’t worry- you’ll know very well which ones he hates by the time we’re through today. Listen to hear about creepy Christmas whispering, The Christmas infidelity theme song and Kyle’s annual rant about rodents singing Christmas carols!
Per Usual, Kyle opens up this episode with some semi-informed ramblings- this time, it’s about the history of Thanksgiving. Almost the entire intro is ad-libbed, so you really don’t know what you’re gonna get. Next, we continue the conversation from last episode where we talked about what exactly the Bible is talking about when it talks about “Salvation.” This week, we talk more specifically about the question, “Can a Christian lose his/her salvation?” We wrap up the show by diving into a news story about one of the most frugal people to ever live. Then, Kyle takes a stroll down memory lane, recalling various struggle meals he’s eaten throughout the years (and talks about some of the ones you submitted) and puts them into a tier list. Listen to hear about weird quesadillas, ketchup sins and cheese sandwiches!
Kyle starts off by recounting a Hail Mary he threw out on social media to verify an incredibly strange childhood memory that involved a beloved cereal mascot committing a murder. The crazy thing is that this memory was (mostly) real, instead of something Kyle made up in his head. Next, we dive into the future of worship music- Artificial Intelligence! The first-ever AI worship song has been written and we take some time to look at the lyrics. If you like “God or Girl,” you’ll love this! Finally, we take a look at what the Apostle Paul says about the word “salvation.” Is it a one time thing or a lifelong process. We look at what the Bible says to set up the conversation for next week- can a Christian lose their salvation?
This episode starts out with the biggest overshare in the history of the show. It involves waking up at 5:30, Dollar General and Pepto Bismol! The majority of the show is spent running through the Worst Halloween Candy Throwdown Tournament! Listen to hear all about the upsets, Cinderellas and Kyle’s newfound love for Necco Wafers! To close out the tournament, we run through all the brackets that were submitted and give everyone an award (because Kyle’s a good Millennial)! And of course, we crown a new (Not A) Christian Podcast Legend. To close out the show, Kyle recounts some recent Facebook Marketplace misadventures that relate to his recommendation of the week.
In today’s episode, we re-air the livestream! Kyle stalls the first five minutes as the existential terror of going live sets in! We begin the show with an original song that friend of the show, Ty, wrote about Kyle! We couldn’t hear most of the lines because of technical issues, but the ones we did were straight fire! Then, two podcast tournament regulars go head-to-head in a game of God or Girl. Hunter, with the support of Kelsey “Better Than Google” Brown, gets off to a bad start, but recovers nicely. Then Nate, with the support of Haley “Also Better Than Google” Carlson, tries to take down Hunter. Then, to end the show, Kyle absolutely dunks on Jon with one of the best Jesus Jukes in the history of the world, but then Jon actually agrees with almost everything Kyle has to say….
In this show, Kyle finally learns from his past mistakes and does something in the preshow that makes his life easier down the road. Then he recounts how mind-blowing it is to meet Friends of the Show in real life. The bulk of this episode is spent going through the bracket for the Worst Halloween Candy Throwdown Tournament. Of course, you'll hear all of Kyle's way-too-strong opinions on things that ultimately don't matter. Which Candy is going through an identity crisis? Which candy does Kyle boldly tell to shut up because we're all tired of it's dumb jokes? Which candy is tied to Kyle's earliest childhood memory? Find out in today's show!
We made it to FIFTY episodes! On the eve of (NA)CP’s first birthday, we take a look back at Episode 001 and talk about Kyle's review of the episode. Of course, it involves laughing at his own jokes and talking about Mat Kearney. Then, we talk about several things Kyle has learned throughout the past year of making (Not A) Christian Podcast. To round out the show, we do the impossible and narrow down (NA)CP to top 10 list of moments on the show! Of course, these moments involve humor, rants, theology, tournaments and more!
This episode kicks off with Kyle chronicling all the things that went wrong that almost made this episode not happen. Then we talk about the coming of the shark messiah! The main segment of this show follows the conversation from the past couple of weeks discussing what it means that we are living in a post-Christian culture and what exactly that means for the church and how we should witness to the world around us. We wrap up the show by playing a (NA)CP favorite- Keep It or Can It! We look at things from the fall such as hoodies, caramel apples, Uggs and unnecessary screenshots and why they’re the worst!
This episode kicks off by talking about bro country music! What is bro country? It's a bunch of middle-aged dudes singing about things that only a seventeen-year-old boy should get excited about. That leads us into one of the weirdest segments ever on the show where Kyle does a dramatic lyric reading of a popular bro country song! The majority of this episode is spent continuing the conversation from last week, talking about what it means that we live in a Post-Christian culture and what that means. This week, we talk about the way we should shift our evangelism and witness in light of all this. We round it out with the recommendation of the week and details about the future first birthday of (Not A) Christian Podcast.
Great news: We can be friends! Kyle and the collective (NA)CP listeners finally agree on something- the fact that college football is far superior to NFL. Kyle lays out a multitude of reasons why. You also get to hear about one of Kyle’s most embarrassing moments that involves an accidental text message! The bulk of today’s show explores what it means when someone says that the United States is living in a Post-Christian culture. We lay out some definitions and relate our situation to a couple of situations in the early church. Next, we go through the list of things I don’t like, but wish I did. Of course, foods, music and much more feature in this list. To close out the show, we look ahead to the future live-stream in celebration of the first birthday of (NA)CP!
This episode comes out of the gates hot with the fakest thing in football since Manti Te’o’s girlfriend was in the news. Find out why these football players who were grown men played against teenagers (and still lost), slept on the floor and even robbed a Walmart! In the main segment of today’s show, Kyle gives another shoutout to Episode 011 of (NA)CP and tries to redeem one of his life’s biggest failures! Redemption here comes in the form of Church history! Learn all about the history of the Pentecostal movement and how it all began! To close out the show, Kyle recommends another podcast, but you have to promise to not listen to it before you listen to (NA)CP. Finally, we close out the show by (finally) doing the drawing to see who gets to be a guest on the show!
We’ve got some more weird news- another celebrity is putting their blood in a product and making more money than Kyle makes on the podcast! Next, Kyle talks about the misadventure of the week that involves him sawing a tire in half and recounting a story of a long-lost (NA)CP sticker that makes it’s way back to it’s rightful owner! And since we didn’t get enough nostalgia in last week, Kyle takes another walk down memory lane recounting stories and lessons from his college days, which include people rage-quitting classes, having head-on collisions on bikes and flushing questionable things down toilets! Finally, Kyle gives his recommendation of the week, which involves some of the weirdest sausages you’ll ever see!
Kyle’s moved for almost millionth time in his adult life and he’s got a question- Where the heck are all his socks. They’ve been going missing for years and it’s getting old… Next, we once again shamelessly talk about Kanye and Mat Kearney. Also, there’s a missing snake in Texas and because it’s 2021, it has a Twitter! Most of this show is talking about that back-to-school feeling! Find out about Kyle’s strategic trips to the pencil sharpener, his adventures in riding the short bus and how chocolate milk in kindergarten may have had a butterfly effect in causing (Not A) Christian Podcast to come into existence!
At the top of the show, we acknowledge the (not so) sad end of an era for (Not A) Christian Podcast. Listen to pay your respects! Then, Kyle had a theory about dad names that was absurdly wrong and it turned into a failed podcast segment. Then, we go into detail about what we found out about the show through your submissions of the (NA)CP Friend of The Show Survey! Somebody gave Kyle a 3 (on a scale of 10) for being funny… Then, Kyle arrogantly talks about 10 sports that he could win an Olympic Gold in! Finally, we end this show by giving two recommendations, which turns into a couple of ethical dilemmas and discussion about perfect pop songs!
Where to even begin? On the longest-ever episode of the show, my good friend Daniel Lacy and I come out of the gates hot by debuting the bleep button on the show. Don’t worry, though it’s still a family-friendly show, the bleep button is not due to cursing! You’ll have to listen to find out what it’s for. Then, We talk about Bethel Church, Spiritual Gifts, Worship Music, The Theology of Suffering and the Church’s relationship to mental health. And of course, we tell knock-knock jokes and talk about rolling bowling balls off of mountains along the way, because this is (Not A) Christian Podcast!
Listen to this episode to find out what Kyle did this week for the first time EVER in the history of the show. Don’t get too excited, though because it’s not that big of a deal. Also, there’s an inaccurate Kanye reference, so come for that, too. Next, Kyle recounts his most recent camping trip in which he explored (and by explored, I mean got lost in) caves, learned about astrophotography and participated a mountain rescue team to help someone get to civilization! Finally, we continue the conversation about Eschatology, diving into more Biblical passages including Daniel 7, 1 Corinthians 15 and Philippians 3. We answer why theology and topics like Eschatology matter and how they guide our pursuit of Jesus!
Kyle briefly discusses the second most important thing coming out on July 23rd- Kanye’s new album. And of course, I’m including his name in the title as clickbait. On a more serious not, it has not been confirmed, but Kyle’s pretty sure that a (NA)CP tweet (@notchristianpod, plz follow) is what prompted Kanye to release the new album. The rest of this episode focuses on the Summer Tournament: Fast Food Edition and we reveal which Fast Food Item you guys voted as the best. And of course, Kyle reprimands you for your opinion. Finally we reveal which Friend of the Show won the bracket challenge!
THIS IS THE EPISODE SATAN DOESN’T WANT YOU TO LISTEN TO! LISTEN FOR JESUS! IGNORE FOR SATAN! Now that that’s out of the way, this show begins by Kyle recounting a sermon he never actually preached that went as badly as it could possibly go. Then, we continue our summer eschatology series as Kyle further explains why he believes what he does eschatologically. It doesn’t come without trials though, as Satan attacks the recording of this episode twice! Or maybe Kyle is just absent-minded sometimes… Finally, we end it all with the recommendation of the week, where we may have just found the worst cook to ever exist!
Kyle starts off by telling you how he managed to embarrass himself in the local Dollar General! It involves dog toys... If not, what else could it possibly mean? We go into authorship, audience and much more in this conversation! Finally, we talk briefly about the implications our End Times Theology has on the way we do ministry!
A series of events led to Kyle having an actual phone conversation with Mat Kearney. This isn’t clickbait. It actually happened. Listen to find out how! Next, we continue our Eschatology series, talking about Amillennialism and what it means. Finally, to round out the show we talk about all things Texas. Next, learn about the latest rejection in Kyle’s life that has him reflecting on other past failures. Next, we transition to part two of our summer eschatology series (#Eschasummer) where we examine postmillennialism, which surprisingly has nothing to do with Post Malone. Next, we tabulate all your votes on trashy foods where we scrutinize things like bologna, SPAM, nacho cheese, lofthouse cookies and more to decide once and for all whether to keep them or can them. Finally, we end the show by starting a new recommendation of the week segment!

Kyle kicks off the episode by talking about the new(ish) podcast setup he’s got. Two of the most beloved pieces of equipment pertinent to the show have been replaced! Next, it’s national hamburger day, so we ask which condiment is the best condiment. If you’ve been around for very long at all, you know that Kyle has a pretty strong opinion about it. So strong in fact that he suggests putting Oreos on your burger before you put a particular condiment that he hates. Next, Kyle asks the question, “How interesting is my life?” Introspection and reflection guide this portion of the show. Things aren’t all good in the (NA)CP world, however. Kyle laments about the latest podcast stat that has him reflecting on life. Finally, Kyle does the hardest thing he’s ever had to do for the podcast- rank the top 10 Mat Kearney songs in existence! It was hard, but it’s to prepare our hearts and minds for Mat Kearney’s upcoming new album!
Kyle begins the episode by repenting of not being divisive enough in the past, so he rights his wrong and slanders everyone who has expressed disagreement with his opinion! And of course, it’s about a topic that doesn’t even matter. In the main segment of the show, we dive into a question that comes up a lot in witnessing- Is Jesus the only way to heaven? We discuss the exclusivity of Jesus and whether or not His message is reconcilable with other faiths. To finish it off, Kyle issues a challenge to get a celebrity on (NA)CP. This episode has another deep dive and this week, we talk about the ethics of transhumanism. Transhumanism is a conversation that is sneaking under the radar in most Christian circles.
