Wish I Knew That Before! with Amit Pandey: Recent Episodes

Amit Pandey

I am starting this podcast with a vision to bring guests from different walks of life to share ideas and answer questions that can help a young adult navigate through life, with a hope that less and less young adults end up saying Wish I Knew That Before! I am a 26-year-old Research Engineer and have been on this conscious journey of self-transformation for the past four years. Knowing the importance of deep conversations that affect one and all, but go unspoken about, through this podcast, I aim to facilitate discussions into such issues by exploring different aspects of life. Not an expert, but a fellow curious learner, I hope that this podcast will start a dialogue on such issues among young adults and empower them in their journey!

In this episode, I have the pleasure of interviewing Simone Pols, a polyglot who can communicate fluently in 8 different languages and is always learning new ones. He shares his craziest language learning experience of learning Portuguese in a weekend and having a conversation later. As an Italian citizen who has lived in Germany, he understands the power of languages in integrating into new cultures, connecting with locals, and gaining new perspectives. Simone believes in Nelson Mandela's quote that speaking in someone's language goes straight to their heart, which is why he's building a lifestyle around his online language coaching program and freelance Project Management work. Join me in this fascinating conversation as we explore the tips and tricks to mastering a new language as an adult.

Gavin Masumiya aka The Flow Master has single-handedly impacted mine as well as so many people's lives through his Group FlowFam. Flowfam is equal to freedom for me and Gavin through his mastery of Flow using Voice and knowing the art of Facilitation invites the flowticipants into the non-judgemental space to speak their own truth, using the power of their voice and music.
.
I remember being introduced to Gavin in the May of 2021 and since then life has not been the same. I have cried, belly laughed, found my creative self, and experimented with expressing my truth rawthentically.
.
In this episode we discuss the Science behind flow, and how can someone access flow using their voice, music, and non-judgemental space. We also did a demo towards the end to bring the whole conversation together.

In this Episode I shed light on one of the biggest questions that I am facing along with so many young adults, when are you getting married? It is tough to stand against something that so many people around you have accepted as a norm. What if you are not ready for it but also you are fearful about am I doing something wrong?

I spoke about where was I in the past year, why I didn't post new episodes and what lesson learned about consistency.

Our Guest for Today's Show is a Drummer, Speaker, and an Agent For Social Change. Her story is one of hardships, abuse, and violence but also of grit, resilience, and hope. She was born in India's oldest and Mumbai's largest red-light area, Kamathipura. Daughter of a sex worker, she had a rough childhood, bouncing between NGOs and schools. She was marginalized, bullied in school, and often mocked by saying "a sex worker's daughter will simply become a sex worker". Amidst all this, she found herself being sexually abused by her Step-Father, not once but several times.

She grew up from being a timid, shy girl with low self-esteem into a confident and courageous young woman with Kranti's help. Kranti is an NGO that empowers girls from Mumbai's red-light areas. Please help me in welcoming a true Krantikaari, a girl who strongly believes that her background is not her weakness in fact her biggest strength, the brave, the bold, the courageous Sheetal Jain.
