Greetings and welcome to the Real Estate Entrepreneur Podcast, I am your host Peter Lorimer, former hit record producer, now host of the show Stay Here on Netflix and owner LA’s most creative boutique real estate firm, PLG Estates.
I was recently on Jordan Paris's podcast and enjoyed the time so much that I had to have him on the show.
He's a 22-year-old entrepreneur with a successful podcast and business under his belt who thrives on designing a life through love, joy, and curiosity.
The time is now. And always will be. Don't stop yourself before you ever get a chance to start. It's never too late.
(All industries are saturated. Just go.)
We talked about his daily routine, how he gets in the zone, and a quote he lives by.
One thing we really hit on was apprenticeships. You may have to work horrible, long hours - but it pays off immensely.
He's created a glorious library of life already. Give this episode of The Real Estate Entrepreneur a listen and let me know what you think.

Golden Nuggets from this episode:

[04:08] “Don’t make a living, design a life.” - Jordan Paris
[11:25] “Just because someone loves you, doesn’t mean they know what is best for you.” - Jordan Paris
[16:14] “if you have on foot in yesterday and the other foot in tomorrow, you’re p* allover today.” - Peter Lorimer
[17:35] “We don’t like people that talk about their accomplishments on social media.” Jordan Paris
[27:08] “There are no ordinary moments.” Jordan Paris [Dan Millman]

Greetings and welcome to the Real Estate Entrepreneur Podcast, I am your host Peter Lorimer, former hit record producer, now host of the show Stay Here on Netflix and owner LA’s most creative boutique real estate firm, PLG Estates.
Confidence is an art. Which is good news, because if you're not innately confident, don't worry. There are strategies for this.
Lack of confidence typically comes down to two things: Fear of what others think and ego. And we can even simplify that further into this: lack of confidence is rooted in fear.
A simple way to gain confidence is to educate yourself. Maybe you don't know enough. Don't wait for someone to teach you. Anything you could possibly want to learn is on YouTube.
Confidence leads to action and action leads to success.
The what-ifs, the second-guessing... those things are the dream, ambition, and career killers.
And they all lead to vanilla decisions.
Whenever I need to make a decision that has multiple choices, I get quiet, and ask myself, which way should I go? I've found that the right answer is always the first and quietest.
I struggle with the same demons as everyone else. I just don't listen to them anymore.
...And I just believe I have a shot. And so should you.
Listen to this week's podcast and get fired up!

Golden Nuggets from this episode:

[03:14] “Fear is the most toxic thing known to man, if fear heeds his hands on the wheel, in my case it always goes wrong.”
[04:38] “You can’t really act if you’re not confident.”
[05:00] “Confidence leads to action, and action leads to success.”
[05:15] “The most toxic vacillation is second-guessing.”
[07:16] “I listen to that first little quiet voice, with I believe it is my intuition, whenever I listen to that voice I never go wrong when I listen to the debating society I always seem to make a mistake.”
[07:42] “Confidence is the difference between thinking about something and doing something.”
[13:15] “Bad ideas ultimately lead to good ones.”

Greetings and welcome to the Real Estate Entrepreneur Podcast, I am your host Peter Lorimer, former hit record producer, now host of the show Stay Here on Netflix and owner LA’s most creative boutique real estate firm, PLG Estates.
Are you sick and tired? Of being sick and tired of NOT being where you want?
Sick of half-assing. Tired of not "getting it".
Sick of everything moving at a turtle's pace. Tired of wondering why you aren't where you want to be.
I want to offer you this advice: get hungry and stop caring what other's think.
I've failed so many times, I almost welcome it. The path to success never reveals itself. You have to keep going for it, knocking at the door. In order for me to grow, I have to keep trying new things all the time. I'm allergic to being stationary. If I'm trying new things, it goes without saying that I'm going to fail.
It's about getting a lot done so I can figure out what I'm doing right... trial and error.
Every decision I make either brings me closer to or further away from my goal. If I'm not changing, I'm not growing.
Speed. Action. And move on. Rinse, wash, and repeat.
Listen to this week's episode of the Real Estate Entrepreneur Podcast for and get to work.

Golden Nuggets from this episode:

[02:02] “Failure to me is something that I kind of welcome.”

[03:04] “The path to success never reveals itself.”

[05:14] “Every decision I make, either brings me closer to or further away from my goal.”

[06:32] “Speed of communication is everything.”

[09:14] “When you’re sick and tired of being sick and tired of not getting where you wanna do, small the glass.”

New year, new decade, new mindset.
Three weeks in. Let's attack this year with a positive mindset. Don't stop yourself before you even begin. Many of us are waking up each morning in a heavy cloud of negativity. You trudge through the heavy, murky waters of prospecting with shackles of negativity chained to your ankles.
Free yourself by visualizing your success. Manifest good things happening and evict the enemy that's whispering negative, self-deprecating thoughts.
Manifest success. Don't worry about the results - we're Team Stay Out Of The Results and we win every time. Because we focus on what we can give to whatever it is we're doing.
Focus on service, focus on giving, and focus on positivity. Leave everything else behind. Believe in you and believe that you can do it.
Here's the week's episode of The Real Estate Entrepreneur podcast.

Golden Nuggets from this episode:

[02:09] “I embrace change because whenever I see change, I see there’s a chance to have an advantage.”
[02:35] “if we have a mindset that is negative and is defeatist, we are not gonna get out of the gate great.”
[05:52] “When I sit down and I prospect now, I literally have no emotional attachment to the outcome.”
[09:37] “Whether you get the listing or not, you should be in your car sitting outside and saying: -I got this.”
[13:05] “manifesting isn’t a guaranty of you getting it, it’s just a guaranty of you remaining in action.”

Greetings and welcome to the Real Estate Entrepreneur Podcast, I am your host Peter Lorimer, former hit record producer, now host of the show Stay Here on Netflix and owner LA’s most creative boutique real estate firm, PLG Estates.
Building your brand is crucial. It's crucial to your business and specifically to the longevity of it.
Social media is getting saturated by big brands. This means you must get creative. Stand out by being yourself and putting that out into the digital world.
Your voice must be heard.
When creating content, or really with anything I've done, I follow my gut. I've learned to treat data as an indicator, not a navigator, of what I should be doing.
I used to be obsessed with comments and likes. I watched the numbers and pandered to them. I created content that moved towards what I thought people wanted.
My own voice wasn't heard.
I stopped creating with that frame of mind and started creating things that I loved. And anytime I've done that, the end result has been immensely better than what I created when I pandered to what I thought others wanted.
Data is important, but it shouldn't be the guiding light--your gut needs to be your guiding light.
When you start posting things, jump in with two boots. If you're not sure, post anything and everything. And then listen. What are people reacting to?
Nothing is instant. This is going to take months for this to stick.
The best navigator of all is you and your gut. Let's dig in and get to it. Here's the week's episode of The Real Estate Entrepreneur podcast.

Golden Nuggets from this episode:

[02:17] “Data, it’s a little voice that whispers in my ear, and it gives me indicators not navigators of what I should be doing.”

[04:13] “I then set to putting out a series of records where I was just like: -I don’t care if it’s just me and my mom that listens to this!”, and those happen to be the best records I have ever did.”

[05:20] “It seems that the fear of failure seems to be more profound in most people than the hope of success.”

[08:02] “If you are not sure where to jump in, jump in in multiple directions and then listen.”

Greetings and welcome to the Real Estate Entrepreneur Podcast, I am your host Peter Lorimer, former hit record producer, now host of the show Stay Here on Netflix and owner LA’s most creative boutique real estate firm, PLG Estates.
I'd like to kick off 2020 with a valuable nugget that I live by. From the moment I wake up in the morning until the moment I lay my head on the pillow, this is true: give it all away.
Anything you give away will enrich your career, be it success, knowledge, or secrets.
I've found this to be true time and time again.
This market, specifically Hollywood Hills and L.A., is incredibly cutthroat. Gigantic commissions lend themselves to intense competition. But that's not how I like to live.
When I was in the music industry, there were two different types of producers. One type of producer held everything very close to the chest, and the other type freely gave. There was a super strong correlation between the ones that gave their items away and those that didn't. The ones that gave received tenfold later in their careers.
Surround yourselves with likeminded people. It's super powerful.
I promise, if you give away what you've learned without expectation, when you extend your hand and give others the keys to the kingdom, the universe rewards it.
But regardless of whether or not it's rewarded, it's a better way to live.
Knowledge is never owned, it's only borrowed.
Give this week's podcast a listen to get supercharged for a year of service and giving.

Golden Nuggets from this episode:

[02:45] "Real estate especially in Central Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Hollywood Hills, Westside, but certainly Beverly Hills and Hollywood Hills is incredibly cut throat"

[04:29]"I was the guy who went and got sandwiches, I was the first there and last out, I was just like a slave"

[05:45] "All the guys that had the hits were the guys that let me copy their floppy disks, all the guys that never let me touch their shit faded away"

[07:28] "When we setup PLG we formed a culture that was everybody helps everybody else"

[09:55] "When you extend your hand to someone without expectation and you just give them the keys to the kingdom, the Universe just seems to reward it"

[10:54] "Ambition is something that's delicious and can be sculpted in the right way and it can be sculpted by poison"

Greetings and welcome to the Real Estate Entrepreneur Podcast, I am your host Peter Lorimer, former hit record producer, now host of the show Stay Here on Netflix and owner LA’s most creative boutique real estate firm, PLG Estates.
People pleasing. It's a slow death, and it only hurts you.
When I mention people-pleasing, I'm not talking about service. I believe offering paramount and unparalleled customer service is imperative and the backbone of what we do in real estate.
People-pleasing sounds like that voice in your head that tells you that you're stupid, you're not good enough, and you're going to fail. It's self-deprecating and it stops you from progressing. It's career crushing.
People-pleasing also looks a lot like answering that 10 pm call from a toxic client. That call that leaves feeling like shit about yourself immediately after.
It's rooted in ego and fear.
Ultimately, it's a boundaries issue. It's about not letting the negative voices inside your head and having enough self-respect to charge forward in your career and be present to those around you.
This one's a doozy if I do say so myself. Please give it a listen when you have a moment.

Golden Nuggets from this episode:
[02:11] “Essentially when you are a people pleaser, the person that you are hurting is yourself”
[03:37] “Boundaries are incredibly powerful for our success”
[06:41] “People pleasing will crush your career into a thousand pieces”

Half measures mean nothing.
In real estate, people will try something for 3 months and then they bail. They change tactics. That's a half measure.
You have to be all in. There's no reason that you shouldn't - no matter your age or where you've come from. Everyone has to start somewhere. Don't worry about where that is for you, just start.
Go into it with a positive attitude. Hope for success, but trust the result no matter what. And for love of all things beautiful - don't stop after three months. Give it your all, consistently and constantly for at least a year.
Here's the deal: You will not be successful right off the bat. You won't understand it all the moment you begin. But the wonderful thing is this - you can act your way into right thinking, as opposed to thinking your way into right acting. So just keep going.
Move forward with your head out of the results.
These tactics work, friends. I keep my head in this game day in and day out, striving to squeeze every bit of juice that I can out of the day.
Listen to this week's podcast to get your head in the game.

Golden Nuggets from this episode:

[02:23] “If you don’t run at something constantly and hard, the results are just never gonna come and that’s why I say we gotta be all in”
[02:51] “I have to act my way into right thinking as opposed to think my way into right action”
[08:35] “but the United Kingdom, in my opinion, is choking on a class system and always has been, and guys like me who come working-class backgrounds, you know 'boys trying to do well', you get kind of squashed.”
[09:28] “There is no reason why anybody in any age group shouldn't go all-in”
[11:27] “because I feel if I’m not squeezing every drop of juice out of every day, then I’m betraying the guys that I work with”
[11:50] “Everybody has to start somewhere, just jump in, because half-assing it will mean nothing ever happens.”

His is a great story about insurmountable odds, optimism, and authenticity.
He was bullied throughout his entire childhood, he came to the United States with a check for the first year of school and a suitcase, and he built a company that grew by 5x in a few years.
After 39 one-on-one interviews and intense training he learned deal structure from the inside out at Goldman Sachs. He then took that knowledge to help build things
He's a builder; entrepreneurship is in his blood. And when he learned to not just solve problems but to solve problems for a profit, everything changed.
We even got a little vulnerable in our conversation and talked about the Imposter Syndrome. It haunts entrepreneurs who have a difficult time internalizing success, but Sharran says it also keeps us humble and kind. And kindness wins.
Another thing that wins: cadence - showing up every single day, putting yourself out there. In short, show up.
Hearing stories from the great entrepreneurs of our time has me feeling super thankful. I hope you'll find time to listen to this one, it'll be worth it.

Golden Nuggets from this episode:

[04:09] “A lot of times people use the word entrepreneur as a badge of honor” - Sharran Srivatsaa
[05:36] “People only look at the success stories” - Sharran Srivatsaa
[19:36] “Right before I go to bed, I actually play the movie of my morning in my head with my eyes closed”
[27:48] “The world is changing so fast, that I wanna see what sticks, what works” - Sharran Srivatsaa
[31:38] “and so now when someone is actually spending a 1000 dollars running a facebook ad, they are like -oh, facebook leads suck! and I’m like: “you don’t have a system to nurture them.” -Sharran Srivatsaa
[32:52] “back in the days, we just wanted the phone to ring, now we get bombarded with all sorts of leads” - Peter Lorimer
[33:53] “press a button, it auto SMS them saying: Hey I’m working through a few things for my private clients this evening, I’m just gonna try if you’re available between 6:00 and 8:00 pm, no pressure”, now if you do that and then call them, it’s a completely different call night” - Sharran Srivatsaa
[35:45] “I win everyday because I show up every single day”- Sharran Srivatsaa

Be a glutton for data. Consume knowledge as much as possible. Fill the fringe time with the productive intake of education. It's everywhere. YouTube, Instagram, blogs, podcasts. Pick your poison and go all-in with investing in YOU.
One of the biggest downfalls I see is realtors not investing in new tools. They peruse books handed to them by whatever brokerage they're in and don't dive all in with learning. Cindy and I, from the very beginning, have been obsessed with progression and discovering new technologies.
I didn't just wake up like this, friends. It's taken gallons of espresso and countless hours of searching and learning to get me to where I am. I have hundreds of failures under my belt, and I've learned to toss aside the notion of caring if I look like a dick or not.
If you're just dipping your toes into all this, come on in. The water's just fine. Let's make a splash together and dive into this week's episode of the Real Estate Entrepreneur Podcast.

Golden Nuggets From This Episode:
[03:09] “Realtors tend to have a habit of, not seeking the new tools, we tend to almost rest in our laurels”
[03:40] “A professional athlete needs to workout, running the track is only just part of the game if anything it is the least amount of work that they do.”
[04:14] “anything and everything you want to find, exists on freaking YouTube”
[04:48] “ Everything that I have found to be successful I never found in a book that a brokerage gave me.”
[07:37] “social media allows all of us to have a voice”
[08:29] “ I treat my business like an athlete would treat theirs”

Greetings and welcome to the Real Estate Entrepreneur Podcast, I am your host Peter Lorimer, former hit record producer, now host of the show Stay Here on Netflix and owner LA’s most creative boutique real estate firm, PLG Estates.
Bob Lucido started out in real estate at 18 years old. Bob and his wife own Lucido Agency, with over 150 agents across the country.
They partner with passionate agents and provide them with the service, tools, and support of Lucido's powerful full-service real estate team - empowering agents to deliver the ultimate real estate experience by providing incredible value and exceptional service to their clients.
Bob Lucido Team encompasses its Maryland agents and is also the headquarters. Lucido Agency encompasses all expansion agents across the U.S. and Canada.
He has 43 years under his belt in this industry, but you won't find him stagnant. An avid reader and a glutton for constructive criticism - he's constantly working to improve.
He contributes his success in real estate to surrounding himself with the right people. And the right people, in his opinion, care more about others than themselves. They have integrity, they're team players, coachable, and have a servant's heart.
If you ever find Lucido sitting by himself in a corner at Starbucks, you'll know he's implementing his trusted Starbucks Strategy. He's an appointment guy - always hankering for in-person meetings. My kinda guy.
The guy has no ego and no fear. I really enjoy talking shop with other real estate agents who really get it, and this conversation has me on cloud nine.
Thanks for listening. I'd love to hear what you think about this one, friends.
Golden Nuggets From This Episode:

[03:02] “Dinner always tastes better with friends” - Peter Lorimer

[04:40] “having the right people in your life - having coaches and support mechanism is incredibly important” - Bob Lucido

[07:06] “number one is integrity, Warren Buffett says if they don't have that the interview is over” - Bob Lucido

[07:26] “if they’re not a team player that's a cancer to any organization” - Bob Lucido

[08:41] “nobody works for me I work for everybody else” - Bob Lucido

[10:59] “There’s only success in action, we can’t think our way into right action, but we can act our way into right thinking” - Peter Lorimer

[13:33] “but now there are a myriad of online outlets that in my opinion are selling poor to very poor leads, and all that doing is evaporating the hours in the day that I have” - Peter Lorimer

Greetings and welcome to the Real Estate Entrepreneur Podcast, I am your host Peter Lorimer, former hit record producer, now host of the show Stay Here on Netflix and owner LA’s most creative boutique real estate firm, PLG Estates.
I've seen many agents chasing shiny new objects. There's an epidemic of Shiny New Object Syndrome.
Sure, there are definitely techniques we can use to enhance technology and further our relationships with our clients. But if we try to compete in the binary world, we'll never win.
We're going to fail if we try to be better than tech.
Think about the doctors, lawyers, and other professionals you work with. We all work with people that we trust and people that have empathy for us. Personal interactions will always get the most value.
But you can use technology to create more opportunities for personal interactions. How? The drum I won't quit banging on. Social media. Social media demonstrates who you are. Optimism, belief structures, compassion, parenting.
Who cares if you there's a platform that can make a transaction a little quicker? Stop having sterile interactions with your clients. Take the time and book a phone call or a video conference.
We are peddlers of trust--no computer can do that. As long as trust, compassion, empathy are arrows in our quiver, our future is bright.
Stop underselling your business. Don't blend in. Stand out. #boutiqueisbetter. Here's this week's episode of the Real Estate Entrepreneur Podcast.

Golden Nuggets from this episode:

[03:47] “as human beings if we chase after doing what computers can do better than us we're gonna fail.”
[05:42] “I have three children, if one of my kids get sick I'm not gonna hit an Uber doctor for the most convenient doctor that’s around the block. I’m gonna go to someone that knows my family, that I like, that I trust, that has empathy for me, that is gonna only want the very best for me and my family.”
[07:24] “When I'm buying a car, right, I still need to look into the dude's eyes or the woman's eyes as they give me the keys and go if something goes wrong I can bring this back right I need accountability I need to look at someone and feel some kind of trust and compassion.”
[08:49] “the commodity that we have that has the most value is personal interaction.”
[11:48] “we are peddlers of trust there is nothing that can replace that, no computer can Uberize our trust and no computer can Uberize our empathy.”
[13:03] “boutiques are flourishing better than they have done in years and the giants of filing for bankruptcy”

Thanks for being here ❤️

There's quite a bit of confusion and fear swirling about right now. And fear can really be paralyzing. Especially when we are dealing with massive things like property and people's homes. Emotions are at their highest during times like these.
Our clients look to us for guidance, leadership, and forecasting. Sure, you aren't sitting there with a crystal ball. People think PLG Estates is full of street wisdom. That did not come naturally. We research, consistently.
Ultimately, it's about treating your clients like family. When you do that, you'll strive to offer them the best advice possible.
If you're an agent feeling overwhelmed by the nation's current atmosphere, give this podcast a listen, and put the next step forward in offering your clients the best possible service. Here's this week's episode of the Real Estate Entrepreneur Podcast.

Golden Nuggets From This Episode:

[02:11] “fear can be paralyzing especially with an asset as massive as real estate and asset as massive as property”
[02:44] “When there is confusion in the air, now is the time to act”
[07:39] “find a niche it doesn't have to be super super super super tiny but find a niche and go for it otherwise everybody's just the same”

I'm the single largest critic when it comes to myself and my business. My very first thoughts of the day are not always positive.
I know I put positivity and excitement into the universe and come across as being pretty secure. To be quite honest, I'm probably one of the most insecure people you'll meet. But I flip the script of negativity in my brain and I charge forward.
Do you love challenging the system? Do you think differently? Are there naysayers in your life? I get it. It's hard. But, in my opinion - you can't be too creative.
I see fear driving real estate. Just because you're the only one around you that feels this way does not mean you're wrong.
There's mad respect out there for those that are willing to have a crack at it. If you want to be different, be different. Let's do it. Check out this week's episode of The Real Estate Entrepreneur Podcast

Golden Nuggets From This Episode:

[03:00] “as my mate Gary Vee says: “our business is already stepped against us” so if we go in there with the attitude that we may lose we’re done, we have lost the game”

[05:01] “in order for us to be successful we have to treat it like an athlete treats their career, we got to work at it every single day and when we're not in front of clients we got to be learning our tray.”

[05:34] “Every failure brings us closer to a triumph right if it was easy everybody would do it.”

[06:54] “I am going to give it everything I've got to be successful in the music industry otherwise I'm going to kick myself for the rest of my life, if I give it my all and I fail, then at least I know I've done it I've maxed it out, and if it doesn't work it doesn't work.”

[07:16] “everybody wears a vanilla shroud because I think they’re too afraid to kind of pop out and show that personality in case somebody doesn't like them.”

[08:46] “when you do things that are different other people feel uncomfortable around you”

[09:21] “imagine just how beautiful it tastes when you do it your way and you win”

Life is full of hardship. I recently went through an extremely difficult and emotional hardship. I learned something that has been incredibly instrumental for me in life and in business, and in efforts to be of service to you, I want to share.
Acceptance: life on life's terms, and how to turn it into your advantage.
When my lovely mother passed away, I found myself at a crossroads. I've been here before. I could be a victim, or I could be of service. I decided to remove what I wanted from the situation and put into the situation what I thought she would've wanted. I came away with it with absolutely no regrets. My focus was not on me - it was on my mother and what she would have wanted.
Surrender.
It sounds weak, but it's actually the opposite. When you accept what is happening, you can quit manipulating and you are able to have a clarity of purpose. You can let go of expectations.
When you are absolutely of service, it's easy to make the right decisions.
The game has changed. Real estate is now 49% transactional and 51% service. As a new agent, I learned to remove my expectations and made it entirely about being of service to my clients. Worked well then, and it works well now.
They're not going to remember much except for the way you make them feel. Let's dive in, friends. Here's this week's episode of the Real Estate Entrepreneur Podcast.

Golden Nuggets From This Episode:

[06.53] “I can be a victim or I can go into ultimate ninja service”

[07:35] “at the end of the day we are masters of our own destiny and I think that's the type of entrepreneurial spirit that I tend to and I like to attract”

[08:26] “I was just a spectator and I was there to ultimately, and in its purest essence be of service”

[10:54] “It’s not what you do, it’s how you do it.”

[12:04] “people don't wanna work with a robot they wanna work with someone that is empathetic to their needs”

[16:29] “when I get out of my own way, when I stay out with my expectations, when I stay in service, the Universe just has this wonderful way of making everything to play out perfectly”

Greetings and welcome to the Creative Entrepreneur Podcast, I am your host Peter Lorimer, former hit record producer, now host of the show Stay Here on Netflix and owner LA’s most creative boutique real estate firm, PLG Estates.

Today's podcast is about goals - sure. But more than that, it's about preparing your mind, body, and soul for future business.
Oh, and the evil spiritual navigator that can easily take us off course.
You've probably guessed it - the evil navigator is fear. Once fear gets his hands on the wheel, you can bet your ass it's going to end badly. Whereas if we proactively set goals - business and personal - and keep negativity at bay, the world really is our oyster. So let me break down my thoughts for you in another rousing episode of The Creative Entrepreneur podcast.

A lot of people are talking about what's going to happen next in the economy and in this industry. I believe that we are nearing the end of this insane growth and closing in on some contractions across all industries.
So, roll up your sleeves and dig in. This is the golden period.
One of the biggest enemies in business is negativity. It's like a predator. The moment you shut your eyes, it attacks. It'll always be around, so keep moving.
Here are some practical ways to squeeze every last bit out of the rest of the year:
👉 Treat each day like it's the day before going on vacation. Think about how much you squeeze into that day. Tasks, errands, work. Every hour you utilize propels you forward. It's about time compression. What can you pack into an hour?
👉 Reach out to your clients. Stop automating things. Technology is a tool, but you have to get personal with your clients. Nothing replaces real contact.
👉 Show your client base the 360-degree view of you.
Let's make the most out of these next several weeks, friends. Here's this week's episode of the Creative Entrepreneur Podcast.
