Society today has treated the issue of sexuality with a sense of relativism. Humanity is free to explore any and every type of relationship as it so please the heart. The Bible as our objective truth has lovingly stipulated marriage to be between male and female. This is not about to change. How do we address these issue with truth? What does the gospel have to say about these issue?

Postmodern philosophies as it regards to gender and sexuality have insisted that these two intricate aspects of God's creation are to be defined by man and are to be determined and explored through human volition. The sin in man has subverted every objective of God's stipulations in the creation narrative. As a follower of Christ, we are called to seek to obey the timeless truths of the Bible as it regards gender and sexuality. In this episode we explore the Biblical understanding of Gender and sexuality. Watch out for part 2 and 3 where we talk about Homosexuality, transgenderism and Feminism.

This was the battle ground for the reformation. Salvation is by Grace alone on the basis of Christ alone received through faith alone so that all things lead ultimately to the Glory of God alone with scripture alone as the only final authority teaching these truths.
Today, I invite you to the same battle field, I invite you to the table so you and I may gaze upon scripture, to which the reformers sought to point us to, to which Paul insisted, ‘let Him be accursed He who preaches a contrary message’ to which Timothy was commanded to study and preach and to which we are all commended to look upon, that very word which has eternal life, that we may gaze upon it and see. ‘How are we saved? How was our salvation procured? What became of us?

It is almost too good to be true that God not only saves us from the eternal punishment we deserve for our sin, but he also satisfies us forever with himself. And this is the very joy for which we were made. God is not the cosmic killjoy many of us may have feared in our youth. Rather, he is the God who, in Christ, stretches out his arms to us, saying, “Come, all who are thirsty!” John Piper
The Scriptures are clear: God’s people are both commanded to rejoice and characterized by rejoicing.
It was commanded of God’s first-covenant people, Israel, perhaps especially in the Psalms. “Let Israel be glad in his Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King!” (Psalm 149:2). “Let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad” (Psalm 14:7). “Rejoice in the Lord” (Psalm 97:12). “Serve the Lord with gladness” (Psalm 100:2). “Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!” (Psalm 32:11). With literally hundreds more instances throughout the Old Testament.
Beyond just Israel, God commands all nations to rejoice in their Maker (“Let the nations be glad and sing for joy,” Psalm 67:4), and even commands the natural world to join in the joy (“Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice,” Psalm 96:11).

As we read this story we are fascinated about How Christ overcame sin and death for us and How he fights the battle against sin and death for us today.
Graeme Goldsworthy, Gospel and Kingdom:
Goldsworthy paints a picture of David standing alone as the one in the place of many, and through him God works salvation for Israel. He writes, "It is a saving event in which the chosen mediator wins the victory, while the ordinary people stand by until they can share in the fruits of the saviors' victory. Preparation is thus made for the gospel events in which God's Christ (Anointed One) wins the victory over sin and death on behalf of his people." (86)

Speaker Profile: Edwin Mwangi Macharia (MDIV Biblical Studies, Africa International University); Public Relations and Communications Officer at FOCUS Kenya In This sermon delivered at Machakos University, Edwin speaking to Christian Union Leaders in a leadership Induction, charges them to look to Christ, the greater Gideon, the Man of Valor. He insists that we are not to look at ourselves as Men of Valor but to look to Christ as the Man of Valor.
...
Look to the Man of Valor We all are like Gideon in our weak faith, but thankfully God doesn’t depend on our level of faith to act on our behalf. God depends on himself and his own strength of character. And from himself as the source, he strengthens our weak faith.
“God is the comforter of the fearful, the uplifter of the weak, and the encourager of the failed sinner.”
Knowing we’re all Gideons will help us as we interact with the failures and weaknesses of others. God’s strong character in his interactions with Gideon has shown me how weak my own character is when I’m faced with the failures and weaknesses of others.
It’s much easier for me to only rebuke, tell others how they can do better, and then move on. There is certainly a time and a place for a gentle rebuke, but how often do we rebuke when the situation calls for patient forbearance (Colossians 3:13), comfort, and encouragement (1 Thessalonians 4:18)? Sinners need rebuke in certain situations, but we also need comfort and encouragement in the midst of repeated failures and besetting weaknesses. If a perfect, holy God does this, how much more should one sinner do this with another?
There is only one mighty man of valor. He became dust like us, but he never failed. Instead, he perfectly accomplished all that the Father asked him to do on our behalf. Because of him, we’re saved from our enemies. And because of him, we’re being transformed into mighty men and women of valor. Take comfort that God is at work, no matter your level of faith.

This is definitely the most important message for any Christian anywhere and everywhere.
The 21stCentury Christianity has definitely been under attack: from false teaching and doctrines to the struggle with the assurance of salvation to apostasy.
In fact in the recent past, we have seen many renown Christians recant their faith and some have been brought to light of their false teaching and false profession of faith.
Not only is it a sensitive and tough situation for the church at large but it is a reality for individuals like us in this room.
Though we strongly profess faith in Christ believing in the Christ who bore our sins, we are constantly facing the presence of sin, the presence of lust and pride and nearly anything possible under the sun from the devil. We are also facing friends in our school and in our departments who do not believe in Christ and some claim to be atheist and agnostic and we are unable to reach out to them and consequently some of the arguments make it easy for us to doubt our own faith.
Well, this is not unique to us but the reality is that this was the case even with the audience Peter was writing to.
They both faced the internal tension of living a growing Christian walk with the Lord as well as seeking to confront the false teachers who questioned the nature of Christ and the gospel and distorted the Christian message.

We live in a world where people are always yearning for opportunities to influence and to be famous. Many young people are trapped in the façade of wanting to be celebrities for Jesus. Does this really mirror the biblical gospel commission? In this sermon, we explore the intricate elements of the great commission by exploring three things.
The Christ of the Commission
The command of the Christ of the commission

Lyrics:
When I fear my faith will fail, Christ will hold me fast;
When the tempter would prevail, He will hold me fast.
I could never keep my hold through life's fearful path;
For my love is often cold; He must hold me fast.
He will hold me fast, He will hold me fast;
For my Saviour loves me so, He will hold me fast.
Those He saves are His delight, Christ will hold me fast;
Precious in his holy sight, He will hold me fast.
He'll not let my soul be lost; His promises shall last;
Bought by Him at such a cost, He will hold me fast.
He will hold me fast, He will hold me fast;
For my Saviour loves me so, He will hold me fast.
For my life He bled and died, Christ will hold me fast;
Justice has been satisfied; He will hold me fast.
Raised with Him to endless life, He will hold me fast
'Till our faith is turned to sight, When He comes at last!

Sure and Steady Hope. We are called to hold to this hope because he held us fast.
He is calling us to hope in this steady Anchor. For this Hope is an Anchor for my Soul
This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 6:19-20

Lyrics
Christ the sure and steady Anchor
In the fury of the storm
When the winds of doubt blow through me
And my sails have all been torn
In the suffering, in the sorrow
When my sinking hopes are few
I will hold fast to the Anchor
It shall never be removed
Christ the sure and steady Anchor
While the tempest rages on
When temptation claims the battle
And it seems the night has won
Deeper still then goes the Anchor
Though I justly stand accused
I will hold fast to the Anchor
It shall never be removed
Christ the sure and steady Anchor
Through the floods of unbelief
Hopeless somehow, oh my soul, now
Lift your eyes to Calvary
This my ballast of assurance
See his love forever proved
I will hold fast to the Anchor
It shall never be removed
Christ the sure and steady Anchor
As we face the wave of death
When these trials give way to glory
As we draw our final breath
We will cross that great horizon
Clouds behind and life secure
And the calm will be the better
For the storms that we endure
Christ the sure of our salvation
Ever faithful, ever true
We will hold fast to the Anchor
It shall never be removed

In today's podcast, we explore four reasons in Ephesians 5:1-5 why we must be persuaded that our salvation is secure in Christ.
Yes you cannot lose your salvation, because you did not save yourself, Christ did according to His eternal purposes and For His glory.
You must be secure, you must be assured and you must be persuaded.
The four reasons
Peace with God
Standing in Grace.

Do you sometimes fear that your faith will fail? The issues of life, the present suffering, sin, the evil one (Satan) and his deception has been a great threat to our assurance of salvation.
So many people would ask questions like: Can I loose my salvation?
Jude 24–25 (ESV): 24 Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, 25 to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
The Christian life Podcast will be doing a series dabbed 'The Doxology series' where we will be going through scripture after scripture that gives us assurance that Christ indeed will hold us fast.

Norton Hall Band "He Will Hold Me Fast"
Song Lyrics
When I fear my faith will fail, Christ will hold me fast;
When the tempter would prevail, He will hold me fast.
I could never keep my hold through life's fearful path;
For my love is often cold; He must hold me fast.
He will hold me fast, He will hold me fast;
For my Saviour loves me so, He will hold me fast.
Those He saves are His delight, Christ will hold me fast;
Precious in his holy sight, He will hold me fast.
He'll not let my soul be lost; His promises shall last;
Bought by Him at such a cost, He will hold me fast.
He will hold me fast, He will hold me fast;
For my Saviour loves me so, He will hold me fast.
For my life He bled and died, Christ will hold me fast;
Justice has been satisfied; He will hold me fast.
Raised with Him to endless life, He will hold me fast
'Till our faith is turned to sight, When He comes at last!
He will hold me fast, He will hold me fast;
For my Saviour loves me so, He will hold me fast.

'Our hearts are restless until they find rest in God' Augustine of Hippo
We often find that in the Christian life there is a tension between the law of the law and delight. How can we treasure that which is seemingly burdensome namely the Law? Is it actually burdensome? Why is the Psalmist finding it as his ultimate delight. Not only a delight but the only one exclusive way of keeping way pure or if you like 'not sinning'?
John Piper in his article on this text says, "There are two ways to state the ultimate goal of life, one positively and one negatively. Positively we could say: the ultimate goal of life is to glorify God by enjoying him forever. Or negatively, we could say: the ultimate goal of life is not to sin. They both mean the same thing because sinning is falling short of glorifying God by embracing other things as more enjoyable.
So if we could learn how to glorify God by enjoying him, we would know how not to sin. And if we could learn how not to sin, we would know how to glorify God by enjoying him.
Psalm 119:11 tells us one of the keys to not sinning. It says, speaking to God, “Thy word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against thee.” The way not to sin is to treasure the word of God in your heart. Which means that the way to succeed in the ultimate goal of life — to live for the glory of God by enjoying him forever — is to treasure the word of God in your heart."

This long poem begins with a double blessing, using the formula “Happy are those who” (verses 1-2), sometimes translated “blessed is the one who” (NIV, KJV). This same blessing formula appears a number of times in the Psalter (1:1-2; 34:8; 40:4; 41:1; 84:4; 106:3; 112:1) and Proverbs (3:13; 8:32; 14:21; 16:20; 29:18). It also forms the basis for the beatitudes in Matthew 5. Throughout the Bible, the phrase functions simultaneously to encourage the righteous and to call for those who are not living righteously to change their ways. Psalm 119 is no exception.

A Psalm of David, to bring remembrance. David felt as if he had been forgotten of his God, and, therefore, he recounted his sorrows and cried mightily for help under them. The same title is given to Psalm 70, where in like manner the psalmist pours out his complaint before the Lord. It would be foolish to make a guess as to the point in David's history when this was written; it may be a commemoration of his own sickness and endurance of cruelty; it may, on the other hand, have been composed by him for the use of sick and slandered saints, without special reference to himself.
DIVISION. The Psalm opens with a prayer, Ps 38:1; continues in a long complaint, Ps 38:2-8; pauses to dart an eye to heaven, Ps 38:9; proceeds with a second tale of sorrow, Ps 38:10-14; interjects another word of hopeful address to God, Ps 38:15; a third time pours out a flood of griefs, Ps 38:16-20; and then closes as it opened, with renewed petitioning, Ps 38:21-22. https://www.christianity.com/bible/commentary.php?com=spur&b=19&c=38

The Lord is my strength and portion Forever. Psalms 73 Recognize resentment.
Though I hate to admit it, resentfulness is a subtle but very real temptation in my heart, especially during times of deep pain and sorrow. Over time, I’ve learned how important it is to recognize this temptation when it comes, so that when I start to go down that path, I can take steps to realign my heart with the truth. Thankfully, God has shown us exactly what it looks like. Psalm 73 temporarily travels the road of resentment toward “the wicked” whose lives seem to be going so well.
Behold, these are the wicked; always at ease, they increase in riches. All in vain have I kept my heart clean and washed my hands in innocence. For all the day long I have been stricken and rebuked every morning. (Psalm 73:12–14).
By God’s grace, the psalm doesn’t get stuck there. And as it continues, God shows us how to turn from a resentful heart to a grateful one. https://www.desiringgod.org/articles/do-you-resent-the-life-god-gave-you

The Psalmist takes us through the song is Ascents. He is ascending from the depths of sinful hopelessness, distraught and utter darkness and damnation. He then climbs fr9m this depths (1,2) to the a confession of his sin (3,4), to hope (5,6) and then to a praise of assurance (7,8). May this encourage every Christian In their journey of sanctification.

Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test! 2 Corinthians 13:5 In an error where superficial faith is tolerated and the professing of faith is warranted more than the actual living out in sanctification, we need a biblical and honest conversation

What does the bible mean when it says, 'put to death the deeds of the flesh' ?
Romans 8:13 (ESV): 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
“Do you mortify; do you make it your daily work; be always at it whilst you live; cease not a day from this work; be killing sin or it will be killing you.”

The Christian is united to Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. This union is the basis for their sanctification; they have died to sin and therefore cannot live any longer in it. Their new identity in Christ is one that is Spirit-empowered and grace-filled to fight sin. Pst Ken explores this theme from Romans 6.1-12.

In Love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in Beloved - Ephesians 1:4-6 in adoption, God legally places regenerated and justified sinners into his family, so that they become sons and daughters of God and thus enjoys all the rights and privileges of one who is a member of God's eternal family. In this series we begin to explore the Journey of the Christian Life. First things First. Man is sinful. The sin of Man has separated Him from God, The wrath of God is poured out to man and He is unable to understand his sin let alone cry out for salvation without God. Basically He is depraved, condemned and defiled. J.C Ryle says, ' The first thing therefore, that God does when he makes anyone a new creature in Christ, is to send light into his heart, and show him that he is a guilty sinner.'
