The concept of the trinity is one of God's greatest mysteries. But today worshippers seemed to be very aware of the presence of God, especially God the Holy Spirit. May the Lord come especially close to you, also, as you worship with us via this video.

Answer me!"
The response to each antiphon is: "Holy God, holy and mighty, Holy and Immortal One, have mercy upon us."

Do you trust in God's righteousness, or are you more self-righteous? Are we truly humble as we wait for the coming of Christ, or are we practicing a false humility? Do we really believe that Christ came for ALL people? These are a few of the questions raised during the sermon on the First Sunday of Advent,, recorded Dec. 2.
In each life happiness and sadness are so often intertwined. How can we help but worry? How can we honestly be thankful for the sad times and for the bad things that happen to us? These highlights of the Nov. 18 worship service present some tough questions but also remind us that "Whatever we're going through, God is there." The Scripture lessons for this Sunday were: Joel 2: 21-27, I Timothy 2:1-7 and Matthew 6:25-33.
Pastor Tom Reed poses some tough questions about life during this sermon: Why do people respond as they do? How well do we know each other? Are you a true Christian? The Scripture readings include Mark 12:38-44 and Hebrews 9:24-28.
“What do you want me to do for you?” If Jesus asked you that question right now, for what would you ask?; Pastor Tom leads us in reflecting on this and related questions in this podcast, recorded on October 21, 2018.
The rich young man asked a common question: "What must I do to be saved?" You've probably had a similar question--if you've thought much about God at all. In his sermon, Pastor Tom discusses both salvation and blessings. Included in this recording, made Oct. 14, 2018, is music (Jerrie Sue Massengale at the piano), a Scripture reading (Mark 10:17-31), and prayers.
Recorded on Oct. 7, 2018, World Communion Sunday. The recorded highlights include:
This service, UMW Sunday, was recorded on August 12. Thanks to Jerrie Sue Massengale at the piano, Dura Montgomery, Cathy Turner, Bettye Collis, Joy Turner, Janice Burger, and Marti Lane for their worship leadership roles. A special thanks to our guest speaker, Ann Miller Woodford from Andrews, NC, for sharing her life story with us and for helping us understand some history of our Tri-State region that many of us knew nothing about previously.
Highlights from the August 5, 2018 Worship Service. Pastor Tom Reed was in the pulpit, assisted by Jerrie Sue Massengale at the piano, the choir, and Choir Director Carolyn M. Smith. Which comes first, in God's way of doing things--forgiveness or repentance? How "good" does one have to be to be loved by God? Pastor Tom led us in considering these and other questions of faith based on these Scriptures: 2 Samuel 11:26 - 12:13a; Ephesians 4: 1-16; and John 6:24-35.
David was a great King -- and a great sinner. Like him, we all must choose between good and bad -- but also between good, better, and best. How often do we compromise for good and neglect what's best? Does God really want us to understand our enemies? Pastor Tom Reed is in the pulpit, Jerrie Sue Massengale is at the piano. The music director and hymn story teller is Carolyn Smith. Recorded July 29, 2018.
How well do you know the Holy Spirit? One thing is for sure, God's Spirit cannot be put in a box. Let's think together about the Disciples' experiences of the Holy Spirit--and about our relationship with our Counselor, Helper, Comforter.
Special thanks to Jerrie Sue Massengale at the piano and Pastor Tom Reed at the pulpit.
