Started mixing records, cassettes, reel-to-reel, VHS, and whatever my friends and I had in the late 80s. Was introduced to my first techno rave in Frankfurt in 1990. In 1992 I began to spin records after going to NASA party at the Limelight, getting my first records, and after being introduced to turntables by two freestyle DJs from New Jersey. At the same time, I got an opportunity to work as a dance and hip hop music director for a college radio station in New York. Began to attend raves and club events in the North East. Landed my first club gig in 1996, spinning hip hop and Miami bass. Was able to roll in a night here and there as a guest DJ spinning deep house, progressive, trance, and Florida breaks. I eventually secured Saturday night main floor honors for over a year at The Pleasuredome pounding out 6-hour sets of everything electronic. A career called from an area outside of music, and I chose to follow it. All the while, I continued with gigs here and there.
I've decided that I just want to be a bit more public doing the thing that I love so much. I am available in Florida to any agent or night club that is looking for a DJ that deeply cares about their craft and is passionate about a pitch perfect performance. Friends of mine call this tech-funk. I'm still partial to calling it breaks and hate the idea of having to continuously break down styles of EDM into more finite descriptions.
I ws bouncing around the web a few days ago and came across a few different lists of the top 100 Trance Anthems of all times. Many of the lists had great tracks, good variety, glaring ommissions, and some surprises. Based on these lists I decided to go digging into the crates and into my files to put together a mix. The tracks I selected are at or near the top of what I consider the best... Anthems. Notice that I hesitated to say Trance Anthems. As I went through the mix and selected tracks, I began to stray from the staple trance sound to a mix of Trance, Progressive House, Tribal, and even some breaks. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy. Again, please support the artists... I list them so if you like a particular track you can purchase them from Beatport.com, iTunes, Amazon.com or pick the tracks up from your local reord store.
