Erika Jose

Hi, my name is Erika Jose and I'm the founder of Founders Club. I'm also a former entrepreneur-in-residence at Startupbootcamp in Amsterdam for their 2019 program.

One of my hobbies when I'm not busy working on my startup— is it a startup at this point?

It's... it's a consultancy. 😏

Anyway, when I'm not busy working on my consultancy, I like to answer startup founder questions.

This podcast is focused on sharing tips, tricks, best practices, insights, and general startup advice.

If you're interested to learn more, I also offer 1:1 coaching: privatlux.com/startupfounderconsulting

Hi, my name is Erika Jose and I'm the founder of the Female Founder Club. I'm also a former Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Startupbootcamp. I attended their e-commerce program in Amsterdam in 2019.

One of my hobbies, when I'm not busy working on my business, is answering Quora questions. If you aren't familiar with Quora, they're a Q&A site. People are allowed to ask questions and people answer them.

So I've been asked a question. And today, it says:

"What percentage of equity would you give a new co-founder when you (a software engineer) have far built the idea, MVP, the business plan, the pitch deck, and conducted beta testing? Their role will be mostly financial and growth planning? "

Female Founders Club is a place for female entrepreneurs, female founders, solo “femtrepreneurs”—what?!

(Is that even a thing? 😆) But anyway...

One of my hobbies when I'm not working on my business— which is all the time— is answering questions on Quora.

Today, the question asks:

"WHAT ARE SOME TIPS FOR PITCHING TO VCS IN 2020?"

Basically, think of a pitch as an interview between a startup founder and a venture capital investor (or business angel, or accelerator). You have to be engaging. You have to be inviting. As a startup founder, going into your pitch meeting with an investor, your goal is increasing the likelihood ofraising funding for your startup!

Listen to this episode where I dive deep into:

  • TIPS FOR PITCHING TO VCS IN 2020
  • WHAT IS A VC PITCH
  • WHERE I STILL SEE FOUNDERS MESSING UP
  • SOME COMMON QUESTIONS INVESTORS ASK DURING A PITCH
  • CRITICAL QUESTIONS VVENTURES INVESTORS WILL ASK DURING YOUR PITCH

If you'd like to learn more or get in touch with me, you can book a 1:1 coaching session.

You can ask me about startup tips, tricks, best practices, and just general startup advice ☺.

Thanks!
