Each episode Dan interviews some of the brightest, most unique voices in Astrology and divination discussing how his unique approach to astrology compliments his guests
Perfectionism has no place during the summer solstice. The myth of Frigga, Baldr, and Loki says as much, warning that attempts at perfectionism result in destruction. Changes and turns are the only constant in the universe, so accept the changing of the seasons, and gracefully step into the future.

On this episode of the Star Love Podcast, we welcome author and data scientist (although he’s had to make peace with that label) Alex Boxer. I found Alex after searching through the Yale (our shared alma mater) alumni network for anybody who might be doing anything related to astrology. Alex was the one who came up, and I couldn’t have found anybody better! Sharing a love of the humanities, astrology, and science, we discuss Alex’s work that traverses the history of astrology, the similarities between modern and ancient approaches to data science, his stunning online interactive astrolabe, and dueling Roman poets Lucretius and Manilius.
On this episode of the Star Love Podcast, we welcome astrologer, writer, and teacher Rebecca Gordon. Rebecca calls astrology “the language of energy” and “the poetry of all life”, and she lives out these maxims, taking an empathic, deeply emotive approach to her work that embodies the feel of astronomy for astrological purposes. Possessing a musical and artistic background, Rebecca consults with individuals, businesses, and has a passion for teaching with her Astrology School having run for 15 years. I was moved by this interview because the creative spirit Rebecca brings to her work is where I feel astrology should go. On this episode of the Star Love Podcast, we welcome astrologer, author, and philosophy graduate student, Maren Altman. I learned about Maren through a friend who found one of Maren’s videos on TikTok, and I must say, I was surprised to see high quality astrology coming through that media platform! Maren is doing some innovative and practical things in astrology education, keeps her growing audience informed with the latest trends in political astrology, and most deliciously, whips up great recipes as the Cosmic Chef.

On episode 3 of the Star Love Podcast we welcomed astrologer Maxine Taylor. I was excited and honored to have Maxine on the show and discuss her pioneering work that got astrology licensed in Georgia. Thus she became America’s first licensed astrologer. Maxine and I talked about a wide array of topics including religion and the “chance” encounter that led her to become an astrologer. There are many fun stories in this interview about some of the major figures of astrology, including Isabel Hickey and Marc Edmund Jones, and you’ll surely want to get a feel for how Maxine helps people, in her words, “Move Into the Magic.”
On episode two of the Star Love Podcast I welcomed astrologer Anthony Louis. I met Anthony through the Astrological Society of Connecticut where he was giving a lecture that masterfully synthesized disciplines like psychology, history, mythology, and astronomy through the art of astrology. That was a transformative moment for me, as I had never witnessed such a thing. However, Anthony got his start with the stars in a less erudite manner. He recounted how as a boy he happened upon a vending machine that dispensed zodiac sign descriptions on tiny slips. He chose his father’s sign, Gemini, and was astounded by its accuracy. We concluded by discussing our mutual love of the humanities and opera.
I was recently engaged to give a talk to romance writers on the topic of astrology. In fact I will be giving a talk on the evening of Valentine’s Day the topic being astrology’s take on romance. All of this romance talk prompted my husband to suggest I reach out and interview a favorite writer of his, Anyta Sunday, who uses astrology in her romance novels. Below is the interview with links to her books.
