Hosts Dia Ascenzi, Carl "Dallas" Fisher, Nick Rose, and Alex [INSERT LAST NAME HERE] are talkin' bout books, starting with Robert Jordan's (Bobert Gordon's) The Wheel of Time.
Joining us in our second bonus episode is Nathan Simpson, the Hard Body to our Meat Boys. In this ep., the gang (minus Nick) venture out into the world to watch Alita: Battle Angel. On that day we learned that Mahershala Ali's ears are upside-down, Air-Bud has a very depressing intro, and it was Edward Norton the whole time.
In the final episode of our terrible recounting of the first book of The Wheel of Time, yet another co-host is introduced. After traveling abroad counting all the man-buns of the world, Nick Rose spends his first episode on The Breaking drafting for a fantasy football league. Alex is barely understandable through his terribly chapped lips, and Carl won't shut the fuck up about his new boat.
Several hours and many beers deep, Carl, Dia, and Alex Tic-tac-toe Man delve deeper into The Wheel of Time. Buckle up for a gripping episode full of shitty sound-effects, using F-150s as a unit of measurement, and even more parallels between WoT and Lord of the Rings.
You know what they say: "Mo' Whitecloaks, mo' problems." Perrin and Egwene come down from bathsalts in a Whitecloak tent. Rand plays Thom's flute while Mat juggles his balls, and Carl and Alex prove how helpless they are without some moderation. Galad tattletale's, and Gawyn assumes Rand's ethnicity. And we learn that some Darkfriends are more concerned with the "friend" aspect of the title.
In this episode Rand still thinks planking is cool, Thom flourishes way more than one person should, and Mat either has a ruby-hilted dagger in his pocket or he's happy to see us. Thom warns his young new prodegies about the dreaded gleeman's itch, and Perrin and Egwene star in Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds. Oh, and Perrin's a furry wolf-boy now.
In this episode we take a break from the long and arduous task of tackling The Wheel of Time. The gang (minus Nick) invite Genevieve Noel along on a journey to see Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse. Along the way, Alex realizes he had nothing to do with the birth of hip-hop, what we thought was a 3D movie actually wasn't, and Carl learns the true meaning of Christmas. Our verdict: see Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse. It's fantastic.
In this episode, Alex makes a hat, Rand drinks some milk, and the Whitecoaks invest in bleach. Lan reveals his love for Red Lobster in this romantic tale of balloon men, sneaky wisdoms, judgemental wolves, and a LOT of sexual tension.
In this episode, Mat continues his endless search for a badger, Rand shops for some more red hair dye, and Moiraine and Nyneave wrestle for Lan's loyalty. Perrin stays in for the day.
In this episode, we are introduced to three beautiful boys in a town where everyone is super attractive. Perrin, Rand, and Mat are just a few country bumpkins kept in check only by some even more attractive women (Egwene and Nyneave). But, lo and behold, some even more attractive strangers show up. Moirane and Lan are two mysterious travelers asking shady questions about young men. What could go wrong?
